Cheltenham Racecourse, part of Jockey Club Venues, is set to showcase the flexibility of its flagship events space this December with Santa – The Visit, a brand-new Christmas production directed by Strictly Come Dancing star Craig Revel Horwood.
Running from 19th to 24th December in The Centaur, the racecourse’s 2,250-capacity auditorium, the theatrical experience will transform the venue into a fully themed festive environment. Bringing together music, interactive storytelling, festive characters and high-spec production design, the show will welcome thousands of visitors across six days in the lead up to Christmas.
The event showcases The Centaur’s ability to host not only major conferences, exhibitions and corporate events, but also large-scale theatrical productions requiring complex staging, technical production and audience engagement.

Ask me where to look for the latest hair trends and I could tell you so many different things. Runways, street style, hair experts, editors, the list goes on. However, there’s no denying that celebrities hold a certain power when it comes to hairstyles. My Chemical Romance will perform at three major U.S. festivals next year promoted by Danny Wimmer Presents, including Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Fl., Sonic Temple in Columbus, Oh., and Louder Than Life on a September date to be announced in Louisville, Ky.
The news was conveyed via the main stage video screens at Louder Than Life on Friday, which was followed by a performance of My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome to the Black Parade” by the Louisville Cardinal Marching Band.
Welcome to Rockville will take place May 7-10, with Sonic Temple set for the weekend after. My Chemical Romance’s 2025 roadwork, featuring a performance of their beloved 2006 genre classic The Black Parade in its entirety, concluded yesterday at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees festival. The group will visit South America, Asia and the United Kingdom next year, beginning Jan. 25 in Lima, Peru.

Just when I thought we were taking a break from Reputation (Taylor’s Version) theories, Taylor Swift throws a ‘fit that sends fans back into detective mode.
You see, before Swift even announced her new album, The Life of a Show Girl, she implied that fans will have to wait a very long time for her final two Taylor’s Version albums—if she ever releases them at all. After retaining ownership of her masters in May, the 35-year-old pop star revealed that while she finished re-recording her debut album, Taylor Swift, she’d yet to “even re-recorded a quarter” of Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
“Those two albums can still have their moment to re-emerge when the time is right if that would be something you guys would be excited about,” she wrote in a letter to fans. “But if it happens, it won’t be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now.”
Well, it’s fair to say Taylor Swift is in a celebratory mood. Not only is she newly engaged, but she’s got a brand new album dropping on October 3, alongside a theatrical event that will feature a brand-new music video and lengthy album commentary. She followed up this exciting news with a new video message to fans on September 20.
While Swift had a lot to say about her Showgirl photoshoot and vinyls, I’d like to talk about her outfit for a minute. The look certainly fits the new album’s aesthetic thanks to her burnt orange Reformation knitwear, fans noticed that her FoundRae initial necklace is “Reputation-coded” in more ways than one.

While one fan noted the Reputation font in the video’s comment section, others referenced the album’s famous “Call It What You Want” lyric, “I want to wear his initial on a chain ’round my neck, chain ‘round my neck not because he owns me but ‘cause he really knows me.” While the “T” could certainly stand for Taylor, she shares a first initial with her fiancé, Travis Kelce.

With that said, is it such a stretch to clock the Medusa medallion on her Versace leather miniskirt as a Reputation reference, given the album-era’s prominent snake motif? Fans have certainly made that connection before. And what about her teal manicure, the color long-associated with her debut album?
BLACKPINK‘s Rosé has hit yet another major milestone with her hit single, ‘APT.’ featuring Bruno Mars.
Last October, Rosé took the world by storm when she released ‘APT.’ with Bruno Mars. Very quickly, the song took over charts across the globe and social media.
Now, the K-pop star and BLACKPINK member has hit yet another landmark achievement, as it has now hit over 2billion views on YouTube in 10 months. It marks the first of her solo material to do so.

The achievement comes just days after she became the first-ever Korean act to win Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). ‘APT.’ broke numerous records and topped charts following its release in October – also becoming the fastest K-pop song to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.
‘APT.’ was named one of NME’s best 50 songs of 2024 and clinched the second spot on NME’s list of the best 25 K-pop songs of the year. Sara Delgado wrote of the track when it was awarded the second spot: “With pink-tinged flirty iconography, a genius interpolation of Toni Basil’s ‘Mickey’ and an infectiously funky chanted chorus, ‘APT.’ will go down in history as the perfect case study on how to launch a solo career. The song also scored a glowing five-star review, with NME’s Rhian Daly writing: “Truthfully, Rosé has never sounded as good as she does here. It’s one of the great ironies that the people in the U.S. who stand opposed to trans rights often stand in kneejerk opposition to Iran and anything related to it. One could imagine great affinity between the fundamentalist religious conservatives of the U.S. and Islamic fundamentalism, if it weren’t for that pesky issue of racism and the reactive Islamophobia that comes with it.
Which is why it’s such a stirring jolt to watch Farnoosh Samadi‘s “Between Dreams and Hope,” one of the best films about a trans romance in some time… that also happens to be from Iran. Gender-affirming surgeries are available in Iran, though with tight restrictions involving parental consent, even for those seeking the surgery at university age. The fact that it’s established upfront in Samadi’s film that such a procedure is available in Iran at all should dispel some misconceptions about life in the country (though anti-trans forces in the U.S. and Europe have also peddled misinformation suggesting that the Iranian regime forces cisgender homosexuals to receive the surgery as a way of “curing” them of their homosexuality).
There’s so much in the way of misconceptions that are dispelled here that that one could see a Western viewer being taken out of Samadi’s narrative by the sheer revelatory nature of it all — except that Samadi has created such a gripping film, one of such deep empathy and narrative immersion, it’s hard to imagine anyone’s mind would wander watching “Between Dreams and Hope.” At least beyond a slack first act.
Azad (played by the cisgender female actress Fereshteh Hosseini) is a trans male who’s yet to receive gender-affirming surgery. There is a legal process for applying for one in Iran, and he’s fulfilled all the requirements except one: He needs to get his father’s signature on a form giving his permission. What follows for the 106 minutes is a flurry of conflicting pronouns as Azad is routinely misgendered by those around him, except for his girlfriend, Nora (Sadaf Asgari).
But it becomes apparent quickly what a tough life Azad has had: He grew up in a small rural village, where traditional attitudes have made trans acceptance almost impossible — the very existence of trans people there is almost unheard of. When he went to university in Tehran, he found an accepting circle of friends, and fell in love with Nora. It’s been years now since he’s seen his family. They have all but accused her of causing the death of her grandmother over the stress caused by her “being a girl who wants to become a boy.”
Hosseini and Asgari turn in deeply felt, naturalistic performances. They are not walking issues or symbols passed off as characters just to make a point. They are characters, and richly drawn. The first 40 minutes of “Between Dreams and Hope” take the tone of a hangout movie as we get to know them. We meet their friends and see them put on a little dramatic reading from “Romeo & Juliet” by which Azad proposes to Nora. He wants to marry her. But of course, in Iran, that can’t happen until his surgery is behind him. The first third of the movie drags just a bit as its characters are in a kind of limbo, wondering how to proceed: They need Azad’s father’s signature, and yet they know he will never give it. What to do?
Once Azad decides to drive to his family farm and attempt to get his father’s signature anyway, the story really kicks in — and is so compelling it mostly excuses the quasi-aimlessness of the first act. Azad’s father is unmoved, and his older brother is outright hostile and threatening violence. They need to leave her quick, the scene made all the more relentless by the camera whip-panning between Azad and her father during their argument instead of shot-reverse-shot cutting. But thankfully, Azad reconnects with his younger brother, who still lives in a mindset of pure love and compassion before the adolescent and adult impulses of shame and “what will people say?” can infect him.
Azad decides to go back to his family home that night. This time without Nora. And fateful circumstances ensue… off-camera. Azad doesn’t come back. And Nora is worried sick. The next morning, she goes to the family farm and ask if they know where Azad is. The answers Nora gets back from Azad’s father and brother are dismissive, curt, and even threatening. This doesn’t look good. And the menace is underscored by Hamadi staging most of these tense scenes in long takes. She doesn’t give us the safe haven of editing.
But the exact contours of what happened leave some twists and turns ahead, which we won’t spoil here. The tension ratchets up to the point that if you’re thinking “where is this going?” in the first 40 minutes, it becomes “I can barely stand the suspense” in the last act. It’s incredibly compelling, and made all the more immersive by the inky natural lighting of a key scene at the end. “Between Dreams and Hope” ultimately ends with one of the most memorable final shots in some time. In every way, this is a huge step up for Hamadi from her debut feature, 2020’s “180-Degree Rule.” With this second film, she’s arrived as a major filmmaker.
For Western viewers, it’ll hopefully have the added dimension of generating more empathy for Iranians and living in that country. There is nothing here that could shame Iran or its government. The urban vs. rural, liberal vs. conservative dynamic we see unfold in “Between Dreams and Hope” is much the same as in the U.S. This is a film that should make us all more sensitive, more attuned, more questioning of our biases. The fact that it’s such a riveting experience makes it all the more powerful in that regard.

When Toosii is staying on his grind in music and some new ventures. This time, the rapper surprised fans by revealing a major move off the music stage that’s got everyone talking. Without giving too much away, Toosii is showing he’s got ambitions that go beyond the studio…
Recently, Toosii announced he received an offer to join Sacramento State’s football program, proving his hustle isn’t limited to music. While he’s been grinding in the rap game, it’s clear he’s been putting in work on the field too, balancing two very different worlds. Now, fans are buzzing, wondering if Toosii is about to level up his athletic career and head into the NFL. One thing’s for sure: when Toosii sets his sights on something, he goes all in.
In an Instagram photo dump, Toosii repped the school’s team, rocking a green and white Sacramento State football jersey, with shots of him both in the locker room and out on the field. And, in a proud caption, he revealed:
“Man the lord is powerful Blessed to receive an offer from Sacramento State. Thank you and big shout to Head Coach [Brennan M.] and Coach [C.J. Pollard] This don’t even feel real man. I’m speechless right now I don’t even know what to say.”

The last time Toosii dropped a surprise announcement, the internet was literally in shambles. Since keeping things low-key about his family, Toosii surprised fans with the music video for his new song, ‘Even Then,’ giving a rare, heartfelt peek into his life with alleged partner, Samaria, and their son, Ezrah. The sweetest moment? The official reveal of their baby girl’s name — Aliza — wrapped up with a touching thank-you to his whole family that had fans feeling all the emotions.

Seth Rogen took the first Emmy of his two-decade career, winning the lead actor in a comedy prize for his role as purist studio chief Matt Remick in his Apple TV+ show The Studio, while Hacks star Jean Smart won lead actress in a comedy, her seventh Emmy of a long and illustrious career, as the 77th Emmy Awards kicked off in Los Angeles.”
“You honor me so much,” said Smart, as the Deborah Vance actress paid homage to her HBO show’s cast and crew. “Let’s be good to each other; let’s just be good to each other.” Smart has won the award all four seasons the mentor-protege comedy has been on the air.
Meawhile, Rogen won his first-ever Emmy after nine nominations. “I so could not wrap my head around this happening .. .I’ve never won anything in my life,” he said. Before this year, Rogen’s last notable win came for “Best Gut-Wrenching Performance” at the MTV Movie Awards a decade ago. Shortly after, veteran actress Katherine LaNasa also won her first-ever Emmy, a supporting actress in a drama prize for her role as a tartly wise head nurse on The Pitt.
An SNL-style cold open kicked off the Emmys with host Nate Bargatze playing a scientist inventing television and explaining to his assistants what the future of television will look like. (“What is streaming sir?” A new way for companies to lose money.”) The sketch also made the requisite joke about The Bear not being a comedy and noted that there will one day be “a world where the finest artists create stories of staggering beauty that millions of people will watch — on their phone while sitting on the toilet.”
Stephen Colbert introduced the first award of the night, for lead actor in a comedy, telling the audience “While I have your attention, is anyone hiring? Because I’ve got 200 very well-qualified candidates available tonight.” The recently canceled Late Show With Stephen Colbert is seeking its first-ever top Emmy for late night show, just eight months before it embarks on its last opening monologue.
Bargatze tried to incentivize shorter speeches by saying he’ll deduct from and add to a $100,000 donation to the Boys and Girls Club of America based on whether acceptance speeches went under or above 45 seconds. There was no penalty, though, for Jennifer Coolidge’s extended riff presenting lead actress in a comedy.
The night took on an early tone of gratitude. “I don’t know what to say. This is so nice. I appreciate you all,” Rogen said, before leaving the stage.
