Sela appoint Luke Lloyd-Davies and Ed Hepworth as a part of global expansion strategy

by jummy84 December 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Sela is delighted to announce two new appointments to the international executive team based in London.

Luke Lloyd-Davies, formerly of Sir Elton John’s Rocket Entertainment Group, has been named as Chief Growth Officer, whilst Ed Hepworth, previously of Six Nations Rugby and National Basketball Association, has joined as Chief Financial Officer.

These appointments reinforce Sela’s ambition to combine creative excellence, global entertainment expertise, and robust financial leadership to deliver spectacular experiences worldwide.

Luke Lloyd-Davies, Chief Growth Officer – International at Sela

For over 23 years, Luke-Lloyd Davies served as the Chief Operating Officer of Sir Elton John’s Rocket Entertainment Group. As a partner and shareholder in Rocket Music, he helped develop and represent major talent including Ed Sheeran, James Blunt and Lily Allen. In 2012, he and Sir Elton John co-founded Rocket Sports Management, creating standout sporting moments for athletes and partners while collaborating with global brands such as Ford, Vodafone, Lexus and TAG. In 2024, he won an Emmy as Executive Producer of the landmark Disney+ livestream of Elton John’s final North American show at Dodger Stadium and oversaw the execution of the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour – one of the highest grossing tours of all time at just under a billion dollars.

Luke joins Sela’s international team as Chief Growth Officer to drive its creative, entertainment and event-production ambitions as the company continues to scale globally.

Most recently, he played a key role supporting Sela’s investment in The Hunger Games: On Stage – the new live theatrical adaptation now running in London at the purpose-built Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre and is leading on all of Sela’s international IP development across the sports and entertainment sectors.

Ed Hepworth, Chief Financial Officer – International at Sela

Ed Hepworth brings over 30 years of experience, having held senior financial leadership roles across high-profile international organisations sports, media and entertainment organisations – including Six Nations Rugby, World Athletics and the NBA.

Ed’s experience will be critical in supporting Sela’s ambitious global expansion strategy – overseeing global finance, commercial operations, and helping align international growth with the company’s long-term objectives.

Stewart Hosford, CEO – International at Sela, said:

“Luke and Ed bring decades of experience building some of the world’s most successful entertainment and sports brands. Their combined track record – from global tours to international sports organisations and rights holders – will be instrumental as we expand Sela’s international footprint and elevate the standard of live experiences worldwide”

In 2025, Sela helped deliver the biggest international boxing event of the year with Terence Crawford vs. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, staged in front of a sellout crowd at Allegiant Stadium in Nevada. Sela also delivered the historic British bout between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn in April 2025 and the rematch this November. Sela’s investment in The Hunger Games: On Stage London production marks another milestone in its growing entertainment portfolio.

Luke Bryan rubbishes ‘misinformation’ surrounding sister’s death

by jummy84 October 30, 2025
written by jummy84

30 October 2025

Luke Bryan has rubbished the “misinformation” that surrounds his sister’s death.

Luke Bryan has dispelled some online theories

The 49-year-old singer’s sister, Kelly Bryan Cheshire, passed away in 2007, aged 39, and Luke is keen to dispel some of the rumours that surrounded her death.

During an appearance on the All There Is podcast, he shared: “I never really explained what happened to my sister, there’s some misinformation out there on the internet and I think some people wonder what happened and they think that we’ve tried to cover it up.

“There is a very, very small percentage of people who die for no reason – and it’s called sudden death syndrome and that’s essentially what they described my sister’s death as.”

Luke described his sister’s passing as being “tragic beyond words”.

He explained: “She was in her home doing her laundry and it was like somebody turned the switch off on her and it was just tragic beyond words.”

Luke’s older brother, Chris Bryan, died in a vehicle collision in 1996. However, he admitted that losing his sister was a different experience.

He said: “My brother, you can conceptualise a car accident, but you can’t really conceptualise someone that was healthy as a horse and she’s just gone.”

Meanwhile, Luke has heaped praise on his wife Caroline, observing that she’s helped him to navigate some of the most difficult times in his life.

The singer – who has sons Thomas, 17, and Tate, 15, with Caroline – said: “I don’t know anybody that could have done what she’s done.

“I mean, she goes into life thinking she’s marrying a country music singer, and then next thing you know, she’s helping the girls and the boys and still putting up with my antics.

“It’s been an amazing journey. And it wouldn’t, you know it couldn’t have gone on without walking in that bar [Dingus MaGee’s] at Georgia Southern.”

Luke explained that Caroline had faced her own challenges, too.

He shared: “She lost — her brother and [sister-in-law] lost a young seven-month-old baby [Brett]. And we’ve had to watch them deal with grief, losing a seven month old, very close to us and we love them.”

Luke Perry fans were floored when news of the late 52-year-old actor’s death broke in March 2019. After taking on iconic roles in Beverly Hills, 90210 and Riverdale, his legacy remains strong. Luke’s family and friends didn’t hesitate to post numerous messages about his passing, and we’re taking a look back at those who were closest to him in life, including his ex-wife, Rachel Minnie Sharp. Here are five things you should know about the woman Luke spent 10 years with.

Luke & Rachel Met at a Restaurant

Luke once said they met in a restaurant. “It’s that simple,” he said, according to People. After dating for two years, they married in 1993 and got divorced 10 years later, in 2003.

Beverly Hills, 90210 producer, Aaron Spelling, once called Rachel “good” for Luke

Aaron thought Rachel’s non-Hollywood background (she once had a job selling furniture) was what Luke needed. “She’s not in show business. Her head is on really straight,” he told USA Today.

Rachel & Luke had two children together

Their oldest son, Jack, is now a professional wrestler who goes by the name, “Jungle Boy” Nate Coy. Their daughter, Sophie, has traveled the world in her 20s so far, according to her Instagram page.

Rachel dabbled in acting at one point in her life

Rachel appeared in the film Teen Wolf 2 but didn’t go on to pursue it as a career. She does have some family history in the movies, though. Her father, Alan Sharp, wrote the screenplay for the 1983 film, Living Dangerously, starring Mel Gibson and Sigourney Weaver. Her half-sister, Ruth Emmanuella Davies, was also an actress for a brief time.

Rachel & Luke had a small, private wedding

Only 50 guests attended, including family and some of Luke’s Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates. The reception took place at Pinot Bistro in the San Fernando Valley, and after the festivities were over, the then couple went to LAX to take a plane to their undisclosed honeymoon destination.

Watch: Luke Barnett’s Short Film ‘Ovation’ Makes Fun of Film Festivals

Ahahaha someone finally found a fun way to make fun of standing ovation clocks at film festivals. One of the dumbest film journalism trends of this day & age is the way someone will literally count the minutes during a standing ovation at the end of a film’s world premiere at major film festivals including Cannes & Venice. I even wrote an article once how entirely pointless & stupid this trend is, and how standing ovations actually mean nothing, and they usually happen because audiences are obsessed with celebrities (it’s objectively not a measure of the quality of the film or anything besides who is in the audience / why aren’t they leaving). This funny short called Ovation is a riff on this trend, featuring actor Luke Barnett during his Cannes Film Festival premiere of the film The Last Saint of Inishberry (entirely made up). It’s also a satirical answer to the question: what do these actors do during a 20 min standing ovation? Well, watch and find out.

Ovation Short Film

Thanks to Luke on Twitter for the tip on this debuting online. Brief intro via YouTube: “An actor’s journey through a never-ending standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival.” Ovation is a short directed by Los Angeles-based filmmaker Noam Kroll – he runs a filmmaking community website and provides advice – he also has a “commercial production house called ‘Creative Rebellion'”, and runs a filmmaking blog to inspire others. Follow him on Twitter @noamkroll or on IG @noamkroll or visit his YouTube page or Vimeo page. Written and performed by Luke Barnett (also of the acclaimed short The Crossing Over Express). With cinematography by Andy Chinn. Produced by Luke Barnett & Noam Kroll. For more info on this film, visit YouTube or read the article on Variety. Taylor Swift, Luke Combs, Leon Thomas & More

Taylor Swift, Luke Combs, Leon Thomas & More

by jummy84 October 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Billboard’s Friday Music Guide serves as a handy guide to this Friday’s most essential releases — the key music that everyone will be talking about today, and that will be dominating playlists this weekend and beyond.

Explore

See latest videos, charts and news

This week, Luke Combs is feeling wistful, Leon Thomas is feeling vindictive, and of course, the most anticipated pop release of the entire year is finally upon us. Check out all of this week’s picks below:

Taylor Swift, The Life of a Showgirl

Yes, Taylor Swift‘s finally back doing big pop, and yes she’s got Max Martin and Shellback in tow again — but 1989, Pt. 2 this ain’t. The Life of a Showgirl has some of the big drums and plenty of the big hooks of this trio’s extended collaboration a decade earlier, but the songwriting and sonic palette are both updated for the mid-2020s, with many tracks based around an organic-skewing pop-rock sound more reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac than Forever Your Girl. Plenty of its songs seem destined to impact on a similar scale though: “Actually Romantic” and “Wood” will be the headline-grabbers for their provocative subject matters, but “Ruin the Friendship” and “Eldest Daughter” may end up the fan favorites for their personal lyrics and wistful melodies.

Luke Combs, “Days Like These”

“When the sky is blue/ And the grass is green/ How much better can it be?” Luke Combs has always had a knack for expressing simple lyrical sentiments as profound truths — particularly when he relies on the power of his voice to carry the song, rather than dulling it with radio-ready overproduction. “Days Like These” features just Combs and an acoustic guitar singing this ode to the core pleasures that make up life — and you can bet country radio will still find it absolutely undeniable.

Leon Thomas, “Just How You Are”

Despite the title’s similarity to classic pop love songs from Billy Joel and Bruno Mars, don’t expect Leon Thomas in a sentimental mood on his new single. “I wrote all these songs about you/ And you never even said a word/ Not even just to say you heard/ I guess ‘congrats’ is your least favorite word,” the R&B singer-songwriter seethes over an airtight soul-funk groove. The wedding ballads can wait; this nasty jam should still get the dancefloor packed in the meantime.

Louis Tomlinson, “Lemonade”

We haven’t heard much from Louis Tomlinson since 2022’s Fate in the Future, but in September he announced he’d be back with the full-length How Did I Get Here? in January 2026. The first taste of that record was delivered this week with lead single “Lemonade,” in which Tomlinson does his best Adam Lambert strut over a muscular disco-rock bounce. No one’s going to be bringing the chorus (“She’s so bitter/ She’s so sweet/ Lemonade”) into Language Arts class anytime soon, but there’s never been a song called “Lemonade” that wasn’t mostly irresistible, and this one is no exception.

Kali Uchis feat. Mariah the Scientist, “Pretty Promises”

After teaming up for one of the year’s most sublime collabs with “Is It a Crime?” from Mariah the Scientist‘s Hearts Sold Separately album, it’s time for Kali Uchis to play host on the deluxe edition of her 2024 LP Sincerely, entitled Sincerely: P.S. The two reconvene for the equally lovely “Pretty Promises,” as the two swear that their word is bond over an underwater groove that they swim around like mermaids. If these are gonna be the results every time this duo teams up, they should really start thinking about doing a full album together.

Fred again.. & Amyl and the Sniffers, “You’re a Star”

Of all the artists you might expect producer phenomenon Fred again.. to team up with for one of his overwhelmingly emotional dancefloor anthems, Australian indie-punk band Amyl and the Sniffers would probably be fairly low on the list, if it made the cut at all. But sure enough, the artist born Frederick John Philip Gibson enlisted Amy Taylor and company for his drum n’ bass-inflected latest single, harnessing the group’s energy and then exploding it with Gesaffelstein-like sirens and typically all-over-the-place vocal triggers. Unexpected but effective — and that’s why he’s a star.

Luke Wilson Joins Will Ferrell Netflix Golf Comedy

Luke Wilson Joins Will Ferrell Netflix Golf Comedy

by jummy84 September 26, 2025
written by jummy84

The Wilsons are halfway to a regular foursome.

Luke Wilson is joining Will Ferrell’s untitled Netflix golf comedy series, the streamer revealed on Friday. Wilson will play a pro golfer who has beaten Ferrell’s character for the tour championship twice.

Why does (most of) that sentence sound so familiar? Oh, right: Owen Wilson currently stars in a streaming comedy series, Apple TV+ show Stick, as a former pro golfer. Owen Wilson is Luke Wilson’s (three-years-older) big brother.

The Netflix series stars Ferrell as a fictional golf legend. Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro and Fortune Feimster have been previously announced as co-stars — not much more is known than that.

Perhaps surprisingly, the 10-episode Netflix golf comedy marks Ferrell’s first TV comedy series — you know, other than one very famous and long-running TV sketch-comedy series. The coming series marks the latest collaboration between former Saturday Night Live cast mates Shannon and Ferrell.

Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor executive produce the Netflix series for Ferrell’s Gloria Sanchez Productions. Rian Johnson (the Knives Out movies), Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue are executive producers for T-Street. Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green and Andrew Guest also executive produce.

Ramy Youssef and Josh Rabinowitz, who were credited as co-creators and executive producers when Netflix picked up the series in May 2024, have since departed over creative differences. Andy Campagna of Youssef’s Cairo Cowboy production company also departed.

Owen Wilson’s Stick has been renewed for a second season; the news was likely received to just mild golf claps among the online golfing community. Though Stick has received a generally warm welcome from critics, including The Hollywood Reporter’s Angie Han, it is less popular among those who actually play the game. Stick season one featured some basic errors that jumped off the screen to golfers.

The Apple TV+ show also features a character, Zero (Lilli Kay), who seems to grate on viewers — that almost certainly rings truer with older viewers.

“Zero, with their fluid pronouns and haughtily declared stances against meat and capitalism, never totally stops feeling like a Gen Z caricature,” Han wrote in her review.

Luke Wilson has a lot more game than Owen, who learned how to play just for Stick.

Luke Wilson is repped by WME.
