When asked about Amaal Mallik’s love angle shown with Tanya Mittal, Daboo Malik said, “I love Tanya Mittal. I love her. Toh ab mujhe again yeh mat poochho ki wo game khel rahi hai ya political hai ya jo bhi hai, lekin jo bhi wo personality hai, mujhe toh bahut acchi lagti hai. Main toh pehle bhi keh chuka hoon, hamesha se kehta hoon, she’s special.”

Continuing, he said, “Mujhe lagta hai dono dost hain. I don’t think Amaal woh aisa character hai jaisa log soch rahe hain. Logon ne notice kiya ya nahi, pata nahi, lekin dekhiye, aaj us show ke andar jahan tak ladaiyaan, jhagde sab kuch hain, wo sab dikh raha hai. Lekin Amaal dekho kitna suljha hua hai in terms of his relationships with women, aur jis tarah se woh apna interaction karta hai, I think that’s admirable. Yahan to do minute mein log gale milna shuru ho jaate hain aur kahaniyaan shuru ho jaati hain, but I think he’s beautiful. Amaal is very nice in his relationships; in terms of personal equations, he’s very interesting to see.”

Speaking more about Tanya, Daboo said, “But again, Tanya Mittal is a rare discovery on the show, I think. Socho yaar, main toh believe karta hoon — sab kuch sahi. Main genuinely believe karta hoon. Aur mere liye toh yeh ek fan moment ban gaya hai. Ab log mere peeche pad jayenge, lekin agar kisi ko specially milna chahunga show ke baad, aur hello kehna chahunga, toh I would definitely like to say, ‘Hello, Tanya Mittal, how are you?’”

Who Is Daboo’s Favourite In Bigg Boss 19?

When asked who is he favourite contestant in Bigg Boss 19 is and whom he would like to meet, the music composer said, “I would like to meet everybody. See, I love… ab kya bataun, kya hi bataun. Mujhe toh aisa lagta hai hum sab parents hain, sab hum bahar hain. Hamare saare bachche andar hain. To hum sab parents apne-apne bachchon ko apni nazar se dekh rahe hain, sab apne positive aur negative points observe kar rahe hain. So, I think Ashnoor is also so cute, and everybody is nice. Bas ab sabka naam nahi le sakta, but mujhe sab pasand hain.”

Rumours of a romance between Amaal Mallik and Tanya Mittal sparked during their stint on Bigg Boss 19. Their close friendship and emotional moments led fans to “ship” them as #AmaNya. The Charlatans Come Out on Fire with ‘We Are Love’ » PopMatters

The Charlatans are one of those bands with little following in the United States but a massive fanbase in the UK. The rare American who happens upon them is likely searching for artists associated with Oasis or Blur before digging into Inspiral Carpets, Manic Street Preachers, or Ocean Colour Scene. That’s how far we are removed from the Cheshire band, now boasting 14 albums, 22 top 40 singles, and three number one albums.  

Despite our collective ignorance, the Charlatans have returned after an eight-year hiatus with a certain amount of fanfare. The band, which features Tim Burgess (vocals), Martin Blunt (bass), Mark Collins (guitar), Tony Rogers (keyboards), and Pete Salisbury (drums), entered the studio with the crack production team of Dev Hynes (Blood Orange) and Fred Macpherson, including additional contributions from Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur). 

The Charlatans have always prided themselves on moving their music forward; this last break was due to the pandemic, and the members focused on other projects. On We Are Love, they were committed to entering this next phase of their career, incorporating innovative elements, while taking a last meaningful look back at the defining moment that made them who they are today. The record is as invigorated as we’ve heard them in quite some time, without a doubt their most cohesive effort this century. 

Despite the layoff, the Charlatans come out on fire. The tone on the first few tracks is brooding, celebratory, and yearning, sometimes within the span of a few notes. The first single, “We Are Love”, foregrounds intricate guitarwork and angular riffs, a combination that brings together the influences of Johnny Marr and Andy Gill. They can construct sonic landscapes, as on “Many a Day a Heartache”, or fall back into more familiar territory with “For the Girls”. They came of age when acid house, shoegaze, and Britpop all existed contemporaneously, and they show fidelity to each of those scenes. 

The album was recorded in two meaningful locations for the band. Not surprisingly, they made a portion of the album in their own Big Mushroom space in Middlewich, Cheshire; more significantly, they returned to Rockford in Wales, the famed farm studio where their original keyboardist, Rob Collins, was killed in a car crash while making their most well-known record, Tellin’ Stories (1997).  

While decades have passed, that event still colors much of what they do, and the impact is no less present today, as heard on the opener, “Kingdom of Ours”. It describes Collins’ spectral-like presence in the space, complemented by the lyrics: “This world couldn’t hold you / It just reached down, and it took you.” Like many long-standing bands, tragedy is not unfamiliar to them, as they also mourned the death of original drummer Jon Brookes. The bookend track, “Glad You Grabbed Me”, offers a more celebratory take on their history and how nothing less than fate brought them together and kept them afloat. 

Along with Burgess’ striking vocals, keyboards remain the defining aspect of their sound. Unlike some of the Charlatans’ more recent works, We Are Love digs into the grooves that made them such an innovative act in the 1990s. The powerhouse line on “Deeper and Deeper” and keyboard solo on “Many a Day a Heartache” hearken back to a simpler (maybe druggier) time when Madchester was all the rage. Even the lyrics echo from back then: “Deeper and deeper / I don’t feel like coming up from air, just now / Not while I got my head in the clouds.” 

The Charlatans prove they have another act that’s worthy of your attention (that means you, Yanks). Unlike bands that have reemerged after extended periods, like the Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, and Slowdive, the Charlatans have evolved since we met them, with to-be-expected hits and misses. Maybe because the group have been active this whole time, the tendency is to take their presence for granted, like how we view Primal Scream these days. We Are Love celebrates their history but skips the victory lap, creating some of their most important music to date in the process.

Hugh Jackman, Kate Hudson Find Love & Diamond

If Song Sung Blue, which had its World Premiere as the Closing Night film of AFI Fest, weren’t a true story no one would ever have the nerve to make it. The unlikely triumphs and unspeakable tragedies of a Milwaukee Neil Diamond tribute band known as Lightning And Thunder may take some dramatic liberties (what true story doesn’t) along the way but the undeniably jaw-dropping realities of their story are so astonishing – and all here – that it isn’t surprising director Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow) found it irresistible material for a movie.

Based on Greg Koh’s 2008 documentary, the story revolves around a pair of working class wannabe star singers who are basically reduced to being vocal impressionists in dive bars and local clubs where they get up and sing when they aren’t doing their day jobs. Mike Sardina (Hugh Jackman) is a divorced Vietnam vet, recovering alcoholic, and mechanic who believes in his musical mojo. Claire Stengl (Kate Hudson) is a single mom of two, Rachel (Ella Anderson) and Dayna (Hudson Hensley), working as a hairdresser by day, being a good, if struggling single mom, and performing as a Patsy Cline impersonator many nights. She finds joy in the music. Mike is a little more complicated. They discover each other, and at Claire’s suggestion they form a Neil Diamond tribute band with their stage names Lightning and Thunder. Mike really didn’t see this coming but for the love of Claire and maybe a new life he goes along.

Soon he finds he is a damn good substitute for Diamond (Jackman doing a Risky Business-like routine in his underwear seals the deal), their harmony -personally and on stage- clicks with a lovely rendition of “Play Me” , leading to local gigs and increasing notoriety in Milwaukee and environs. Joined by a back up band including Mark Shurilla (Michael Imperioli) who was a Buddy Holly impersonator who plays a mean guitar; and soon a manager, Tom D’Amato (a perfect Jim Belushi), this Diamond tribute act reaches the heights locally, even opening for Pearl Jam’s Wisconsin dates with Mike duetting with Eddie Vedder (John Beckwith) on “Forever In Blue Jeans” (yes, that really happened). They are starting to live their version of the American dream. Life is good, until it isn’t. The movie’s overall joyous tone – the love story of two people finding each other for another shot at happiness and a family coming together -changes tragically for both of them, most urgently for the ever optimistic Claire.

That Brewer never loses the delicate tone of this musical comedy/drama is a miracle itself. You will find yourself asking at more than one point, “could this have really happened?”, but ultimately Song Sung Blue is not just about a tribute to Neil Diamond, but to the resilience of the humans at the center of it all. Fortunately the film also has two ever-appealing and relatable stars knocking it out of the park – musically and dramatically. Jackman, complete with Diamond-style hair, is as good as he has ever been playing a complicated guy who finds his groove in the music of an iconic singer. It isn’t easy being such a recognizable star impersonating a man impersonating an equally recognizable star, but Jackman gives him edge and likability so we are with him all the way. His Diamond vocals are flawless. As for Hudson, she is simply sensational in her best screen role since her Oscar nominated and Golden Globe winning turn as the inimitable Penny Lane in 2000’s Almost Famous. As comfortable musically as she is with the heavy dramatics the role requires, her Claire will break your heart. Anderson and Hensley are ideally cast as the kids, and King Princess as Mike’s daughter Angelina is also fine. Imperioli also scores as that Buddy Holly guy turned key guitarist, and Mustafa Shakir gets smiles as a James Brown doppleganger, Sex Machine.

Song Sung Blue is an apt Diamond tune to title this film that doesn’t shy away from showing the curves life can throw at us, but this story of two good souls finding love and Sweet Caroline together is no mere impersonation itself. It is, in fact, about as real, emotional, and unpredictable as life can sometimes get.

It’s not even Halloween yet but country legend already doling out Xmas gifts

Like Mariah Carey, Willie Nelson is getting into the holiday spirit before even Halloween as the country legend has shared his festive new ballad “Christmas Love Song.”

The tender track finds Nelson working alongside his longtime collaborator and producer Buddy Cannon on a track penned by Country Music Hall of Fame Bill Anderson with Bobby Tomberlin and Marv Green. Harmonica great Mickey Raphael also features on the song.

“It ain’t a lot but every word of it’s true/It don’t sparkle or shine/But it’s one of a kind,” Nelson sings on the track. “And I put my whole heart into this Christmas love song to you.”

Nelson has gifted fans with holiday music in Christmases past, most notably his 1979 Pretty Paper, his first Christmas LP and Number Nine on Rolling Stone’s 40 Essential Christmas Albums list. Nelson has also released 1994’s Christmas With Willie Nelson, 1997’s Hill Country Christmas, and 1995’s Pancho, Lefty, and Rudolph, a collaborative Xmas album with Merle Haggard.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus Love and War, starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal, is among the most anticipated films in Bollywood. While details about the film’s plot remain tightly under wraps, recent updates reveal that the director has chosen to recreate 1970s Italy in Mumbai instead of filming abroad.

As per a report in Mid Day, Bhansali had even planned a 45-day shooting in Italy to shoot important parts of the film. But the schedule was finally ditched because of logistical issues and lack of time. Instead, the director, famous for his visual magnificence and attention to detail, decided to take Italy to Mumbai by creating grand sets near Royal Palms in Goregaon.

A source from the production revealed, “The Italy schedule was proving to be logistically complicated and would have taken considerably more time to execute. Bhansali wanted to be able to preserve the luxury while having tight control over the setting, so he decided to recreate the Italian surroundings in a controlled studio environment.

The report added that Bhansali started the new schedule of shooting in early October, centering around scenes shot in a rich Italian club. The director reportedly shot a 10-day schedule with his lead actors prior to Diwali. True to his signature style, Bhansali made sure that all the details — from costumes and set design to lighting — were in line with the spirit of 1970s Italy.

Amitabh Bachchan paid an emotional tribute to the legendary ad man, Piyush Pandey, who passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 70, after battling pneumonia. 

 

In an emotional blog post, Amitabh expressed his sorrow, referring to Piyush as “a creative genius, a most amiable friend, and guide,” and further stating that the advertising icon’s legacy “shall forever be an eternal emblem of his immeasurable creativity.” 

Amitabh wrote on his blog, “A creative genius .. a most amiable friend, and guide .. has left us .. No words to express our grief .. Piyush Pandey, passed away this morning .. The creative works left behind by him shall ever be an eternal emblem of his immeasurable creativity ..”  

 

Amitabh and Piyush shared a long and memorable professional partnership that lasted for many years. They collaborated on some of India’s most memorable advertising campaigns, including the iconic “Pappu Pass Ho Gaya” series for Cadbury Dairy Milk, the Polio Eradication campaign featuring Amitabh’s impactful “Do Boond Zindagi Ki” message, and the Gujarat tourism advertisements that defined an era of Indian television.

 

Piyush’s talent for combining storytelling with emotion helped reshaped how Indian audiences engaged with brands, and Amitabh’s strong screen presence brought an unmatched credibility and warmth to their collaborations 

 

Piyush Pandey, often recognized as the face of modern Indian advertising, started his professional journey in the 1980s and eventually attained the position of Chief Creative Officer Worldwide at Ogilvy & Mather. Known for incorporating Indian cultural nuances, humour, and emotional depth into his creative projects, Piyush actually transformed the manner in which advertisements communicated with the diverse population of the country. His advertising campaigns, including Fevicol’s “Jod Ke Rakhe Hamesha,” Cadbury’s “Kuch Khaas Hai,” and Asian Paints’ “Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai,” have achieved the status of cultural landmarks and are still remembered and cherished to this date.

At the heart of the story is Jassi, played by Harshhvardhan Singh Deo, a hopeless romantic who believes he’s finally found the love of his life. His Jassi, portrayed by Rehmat Rattan, is sweet, sensible, and everything he’s ever dreamed of until fate introduces another Jassi into the mix, setting off a chain of hilarious misunderstandings. What follows is a comedy of errors where hearts collide, tempers flare, and wedding bells hang in the balance!

Adding to the madness are an ensemble of colourful characters Ranvir Shorey as the well-meaning but forever frazzled lover trying to make sense of it all, Sikandar Kher as the charming troublemaker who adds fuel to the confusion, Manu Rishi Chadha as the strict law enforcer and a hopeless romantic with a bag full of advice (most of it wrong), Sudesh Lehri bringing in his signature humour, and Grusha Kapoor as the strong, over-laad pyaar wali matriarch holding the chaos together.

Good news for Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela fans! The popular Tollywood couple is expecting twins, confirmed by Upasana’s mom, Shobana Kamineni, in an emotional social media post. The reveal came after the couple shared a celebratory Diwali video, giving people a glimpse of Upasana’s baby shower with close family and friends in attendance.
Sharing the happy news, Shobana said, “Diwali certainly arrived as a lovely Double Dhamaka because Anil and I are preparing to welcome Upasana Kamineni Konidela and Ram Charan’s twins in the coming year. My happiest time of the year was brighter at the thought of five grandchildren soon!” Her tweet had a video from Diwali and baby shower celebrations, giving out warm and joyous vibes.

Ram Charan and Upasana had earlier announced their second pregnancy in a shared Instagram post. The celebration was attended by members of the Konidela and Kamineni families, who came to pour blessings and good wishes over the couple. The couple, who welcomed their first child, daughter Klin Kaara, on June 20, 2023, are now gearing up to have their family grow again.

The happy news of the couple spread like wildfire, and soon fans and stars alike took to social media to shower them with congratulatory wishes. Stars including Janhvi Kapoor, Kajal Aggarwal, Trisha Krishnan, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu wished the parents-to-be congratulations. Key industry players like Venkatesh Daggubati, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Nayanthara too were present at the party.

Professionally, Ram Charan was recently spotted in Game Changer, directed by Shankar and starring Kiara Advani. Although the movie garnered conflicting reviews, the actor is set to appear in Peddi, a sports action drama helmed by Buchi Babu Sana, releasing in March 2026. He is also set to work with director Sukumar once again in a future project.
