The Golden Bachelor’s Nicolle Has a Lot Left to Say

Glamour: How do you feel after tonight’s show?

Nicolle Kate Briscoe: I’m still processing a little bit, but all in all, I feel good. It allowed all the women to express themselves and tell me how they feel, and that’s valid. We may have experienced things differently, but everyone’s entitled to express themselves in any way that they feel is necessary.

How was that for you, hearing what Debbie had to say?

Debbie and I are very good friends. I said, “Debbie, come on.” I didn’t think that was necessary. Everybody had already said basically what she was saying, and she didn’t need to repeat it. If she needed to say that to me, she could have said that to me separately. That was the only part that I had a problem with. I didn’t have a problem with anybody else. I mean, Amy, to be honest, wasn’t even in the house with me very much. So I don’t really think she had enough information firsthand to say anything. But Terri, I have a lot of respect for. And I like Robin. Robin is fine.

You and Debbie appeared to exchange words in the commercial break. What did you say to her?

I said, “Debbie, I love you, but that was really unnecessary.” She said it was necessary. I said, “Well, it wasn’t necessary like that. There were so many positive things about our friendship. You could have said something nice, and then sandwiched it with something negative and ended with something nice. That is how you are supposed to do it.” She said, “You are right. You are right.” I think she was very emotional tonight, to be honest. I understand that, and I forgive her.

I thought she was very valid with all of her points, and I also commend you for the way you handled it and said, “I will do better and I will try.”

bitchy | King Charles’ courtiers believe QEII has ‘a lot to answer for’ with the Andrew problem

by jummy84 October 26, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s incredibly funny to watch King Charles try to thread this needle with his late mother’s memory: Queen Elizabeth II was the greatest monarch ever and everything she said and did is above reproach… AND the late queen was petty, negligent, short-sighted and she’s to blame for pretty much every problem plaguing Charles. You can’t have it both ways – either QEII’s words are the royal gospel or she made tons of horrible decisions which left the monarchy in terrible shape long-term. Which is it? All of this brings me to Roya Nikkhah’s new piece in the Times, where “insiders” and “sources” are basically complaining about how QEII should have taken care of this Prince Andrew situation during her reign, and why oh why did they leave this issue on the shoulders of Charles the Ditherer? Some highlights:

A stain on the Carolean era: Whichever way the saga of Andrew ends — and the end does not yet appear to be in sight — it has indelibly stained the Carolean era, a reign that has already been buffeted by the King’s cancer, for which he is still receiving weekly treatment. A friend of the monarch said: “He won’t be looking at it through the lens of ‘this is my brother’. He’ll be looking at it through the lens of ‘this is getting in the way of the royal family’s duty to serve the country and distracting from the public work’ — and that’s not where he wants the focus to be.”

The inherited problem: Charles and his aides have been firefighting for weeks, attempting to digest each new, tawdry revelation about Andrew that emerges to do with his links to the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein…But there is a growing feeling that too little is being done too late, and the Palace is playing catch-up because of mis-steps committed during the last reign. After his BBC Newsnight interview, Andrew was forced by Queen Elizabeth, with the support of Charles and Prince William, to step back from public life in the vain hope the scandal would fade. In February 2022, when Andrew agreed a multimillion-pound settlement with Giuffre, part-funded by his mother and Charles and admitting no liability, the late Queen enforced further punishment, removing his HRH styling, military titles and patronages. But she could not bring herself to fully strip him of his titles, or suggest that alternative accommodation might be more appropriate in the circumstances. He remained her weak spot, and Charles is now paying the price.

QEII has a lot to answer for!! A source who knows the royal family said: “It seems to me that Queen Elizabeth has quite a lot to answer for. It’s as if she left an unexploded bomb for Charles. The thing about the Queen was that everyone always said she was so dutiful, and she was — but this was a terrible dereliction of duty. She indulged Andrew all the time and always avoided confrontation.”

QEII the ostrich: Another royal source, who knew the late Queen well, said: “It wasn’t just Andrew — it was all the family troubles. She just didn’t want to engage. She was like an ostrich with her head in the sand. But I don’t think any of the family knew the full extent of what would come out.”

The advanced talks with Andrew: Talks between Andrew and courtiers, thought to be led by the King’s principal private secretary, Sir Clive Alderton, on the issue of where else he might live — and who would fund a move — are said to be continuing. The prince has so far dug in his heels and shows no imminent signs of moving. This is despite mounting pressure prompted by revelations last week in The Times that he pays the Crown Estate a “peppercorn rent” for the sprawling mansion.

Charles must stop dithering and confront Andrew directly: The source said: “Charles has to say to his face, ‘There’s no choice here, you must now leave Royal Lodge. Whatever the lease says. You say you always put your family and country first. Prove it. This is doing real damage to the monarchy. You’ve got to move.’ I think that would do a lot to assuage public anger.” Another royal source said: “The public are angry at Andrew, angry that he’s still in that house and angry at the disdain in that statement. Something else [beyond the dukedom] has to go.”

What is Camilla doing? Queen Camilla has so far kept a low profile on the matter, choosing to support her husband privately as he navigates the Andrew fallout. The Palace will not say whether Camilla — who, like the Duchess of Edinburgh, is a longstanding campaigner on raising awareness of sexual abuse — has read Giuffre’s book or expressed an interest in its contents, published posthumously. A friend of Camilla’s said: “Knowing her, she probably will. Set against the Queen and the Duchess of Edinburgh’s personal agenda, it is a very difficult backdrop to try and promote the issues they care about when they’ve got someone so close to home caught up in it.”

Endless scandal: Another former courtier says of the endless scandal: “If a story lasts more than nine days, you’re toast. It’s been 15 years now.” A friend of the King said: “The King has one of the best antenna for judging public opinion and he is keeping a very close eye on the mood on this matter. There is a genuine sense that he feels he has taken every step available and they have pulled all the decisive levers they can. If it isn’t enough, because the public outrage is still high, they will look again. But it is not an institution that is prone to knee-jerk reactions.”

[From The Times]

“The King has one of the best antenna for judging public opinion” – no he doesn’t??? LMAO. Charles married Camilla, for God’s sake. Charles doesn’t have a feel for public opinion, but he believes that he can manipulate public opinion to get his desired result. Andrew Lownie – who wrote the book on the Yorks, published this past summer – pointed out that the public is way ahead of the monarchy and the government on the Andrew situation. There’s HUGE public support for formally stripping Andrew of all of his titles and forcing him out of Royal Lodge and launching a criminal inquiry into him. Charles and the Starmer government look out of touch for attempting to slow-walk these half-measure punishments.

As for all of the stuff about blaming QEII… lol. Charles really is his mother’s biggest opp, and always has been. Charles is disrespecting the dead queen! Punishing Andrew is a slap in the dead queen’s face! Sorry, do we only reserve that kind of hyperbole when it’s about the Sussexes? The thing that makes it even funnier is that Charles is actually right, QEII should have punished Andrew during her reign and yes, this was always going to explode during Charles’s reign. But QEII didn’t force Charles to put Andrew front-and-center on the Christmas walk and Easter walks. QEII didn’t force Charles to dither and slow-walk the Andrew situation for three years.

Emotional Ayushmann Khurrana calls Thamma’s success blessing from late father: ‘This family has seen a lot’

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is currently riding high on the success of his recent release, Thamma. As the film crossed ₹50 crore in just three days, the actor shared an emotional note revealing how the film came as a “beautiful divine light” for him and his family.

Ayushmann Khurrrana reacts to Thamma’s success.

Ayushmann Khurrana on Thamma’s success

On Friday, Ayushmann took to Instagram and shared a compilation that included a video from his Diwali celebration with family, a picture with his late father, one with his on-screen father Paresh Rawal, and a clip of fans mobbing him as he visited a theatre screening of Thamma to see the audience’s reaction. Alongside the pictures and videos, he penned a heartfelt note expressing how Thamma’s success came as a huge relief.

He wrote, “This family has seen a lot in the last few years. The success of Thamma is like a beautiful divine light. It is a result of the collective prayers of the young and the old present here. आयुष्मान भव:… that’s what my father used to say whenever I touched his feet. When Paresh ji said आयुष्मान भव: in the film, it felt like my father, my guardian angel, had blessed me.”

Ayushmann expressed his gratitude for the film’s success and added, “My family, my late father and the audience have blessed Thamma with love. Don’t be surprised if you come across an overwhelmed me in one of the theatres in the suburbs —I may drop in to say hi and thank you!”

His industry friends also showered love and congratulated him on the film’s success. Rajkummar Rao commented, “Congratulations, brother. Very well deserved.” Vijay Varma wrote, “Lots of love to you and fam, brother.” Rakul Preet Singh added, “May this be just the beginning of so much more… love to all of you.”

Fans also joined in to celebrate the moment. One of them wrote, “Like they say, some successes feel personal to us. This one feels exactly like that. Your wins = our wins. So, so happy and proud of you, AK! You deserve every bit of this and even more. Ayushmann Bhava!” Another commented, “You deserve every bit of it.”

Ayushmann lost his father, astrologer P. Khurana, in May 2023 after a prolonged illness. Earlier this year, in April, his wife and filmmaker Tahira Kashyap revealed that her breast cancer had relapsed after seven years. She underwent treatment and is currently focusing on regaining her health.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s recent and upcoming work

Before Thamma, Ayushmann was last seen in Dream Girl 2 (2023) alongside Ananya Panday. The film was a commercial success, earning ₹142.2 crore worldwide at the box office. In Thamma, produced by Maddock Films, Ayushmann plays the role of a vampire. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal and Faisal Malik in key roles. It has received mostly positive reviews and continues to enjoy a dream run at the box office.

Ayushmann will next be seen in Mudassar Aziz’s Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which also stars Sara Ali Khan in the lead role. The film is scheduled for release in March 2026.

“There’s a lot of things in there that are felt but not heard”

by jummy84 October 24, 2025
written by jummy84

Two years on from her debut album, 2023’s acclaimed ‘Aperture’, life is looking really different for Hannah Jadagu. In the time since the record’s release, the Texas-raised, New York-based alt-pop star has fallen in love, graduated from college and gone on her first headline tour across Europe. A lot of these experiences have shaped her introspective, synth-driven second album ‘Describe’, which arrives today.

The distance created by touring another continent made Jadagu “more cognizant of my own being and that relationship that I have with another person and how my work and my lifestyle can affect that in very real ways”, she tells NME over video call from her New York apartment. That helped inform the “authentic and vulnerable” songs on the album, such as ‘More’, where she sings: “I’ve been 5,000 miles away, why does 3,000 feel like more?”

At the same time, touring and “playing the guitar every day” also coloured the way Jadagu approached the creative process for ‘Describe’ when it started back in the summer of 2023. “I was trying to write new songs and trying to figure out the direction for my new record, I found that the guitar for me was not amplifying my voice in the way that I needed it to,” she says. “It wasn’t helping me discover new melodies that I could sing and stuff like that.

“So, I was like, ‘Let me just try to play stuff on a MIDI keyboard’. And then, a year later, I took it to my producers and we really amped it up,” she continues. Although that approach was “so freeing for what I was writing at the time”, the guitar is still never too far from her side: “On the record, there’s a lot of songs with guitar, but it functions more as accompaniment rather than the strong rhythm-heavy thing that moves it along.”

The title track ‘Describe’ is such an arresting opener. It really sets the stage for an album that is sonically wider and emotionally deeper. Why did you think that this song was the right one to not only open the album, but to name it after?

“When I first sat down to try making a new record, ‘Describe’ was the first thing that I made, and that was in the summer of 2023. So this is post-‘Aperture’ release, and ‘Describe’ came so naturally to me. I found myself playing around with new sounds, new themes lyrically, and I was just captivated by the sonic landscape of what I was doing, but there was no album that came of that.

“It took a full year, until the summer of 2024, where I felt like every song that I kept writing was leading me to an album, and it was making me realise that in all these songs, I’m literally trying to just describe the ways in which I was feeling and the experiences that I was having. ‘Describe’ is where it all started, and it kept being a through line to all of the lyrics and all of the sounds, and just trying to figure out what I wanted to say. I don’t know if I will ever fully describe or articulate things in the way that I hope to, but I’m always trying.”

I love how ‘Describe’ really primes the listener to expect the unexpected on this album, from the electronica of ‘More’ to the devastating piano moment on ‘Couldn’t Call’ or even a return to a more guitar-driven sound on ‘Doing Now’.

“That’s why I made ‘Describe’ the first track on the record. It prepares people to be like, ‘Wait, what?’ There’s so much that even happens in that song alone. There’s so much of a journey that it takes with the strings and with the senses and with the bare vocal. There’s a lot going on, and that was definitely the point, to say, ‘Hey, this record is not gonna be whatever the last record was, and that’s OK, but you’re in store for some really interesting sounds and somewhat of a progression [from the last album].’”

With this combination of synths and guitars on the record, it feels like there are a lot of hidden layers within layers across the album that make it come to life.

“I always say there’s a lot of things in there that are felt but not heard. Some people might call that a little maximalist. On ‘Normal Today’, there’s probably about 200 stems, and it’s a lot, and I kinda laugh at that because maybe I was doing too much. But sometimes you can create little harmonics out of the meshing of things, and sometimes that can create a really unique feeling.

“But we also strip it down a bit, like on ‘Doing Now’ or ‘Gimme Time’. There are moments where it is just back to the core timelessness of a Michael Jackson song – not to compare myself to Michael Jackson, but I like playing with that and going in and out of the analogue and the modern and just trying to find a balance between it. That’s why I’m very influenced by people like FKA twigs or Rosalía because they do that extremely well and at the highest level.”

Was tracklisting something that was really important to you on this album?

“There was major intent behind the tracklisting. That’s what kept me from finishing the record or turning it in, because I kept being like, ‘Wait, no. Should I put this song right there? This song over there?’ [I wanted this album to] document what it’s like to be very human and to be in a relationship and to be navigating things when you’re 21. And I wanted to show chaos, but tell a loose story through that.

“Do I make the right choices [when tracklisting]? Who can say? That’s for the listener [to decide]. But I do think about these things, and I really care about stuff like tracklisting and how the listener can make sense of the record for themselves and how they can interpret it for themselves. And that’s always something I’m keeping in the back of my mind when I’m making an album. And that’s why I love to make an album, ’cause you get to tell a story.”

You recorded your first EP, 2021’s ‘What Is Going On?’, entirely on your iPhone 7. A lot has changed since, but how has your creative process evolved?

“The way that I think it’s similar is that a lot of the songs start in my room. It starts with just me, the MIDI keyboard and all the stuff I have at my disposal – which isn’t that much. I’ve got speakers, I’ve got a Scarlett, a keyboard, and I’ve got a guitar. I start with somewhat of a melody and gibberish, and then I start to notice certain words, and then I try to focus on a theme, focus on a message, and then I build the track around it.

“But then there’s songs like ‘Gimme Time’, where that was the first time I actually wrote a composition with somebody else [album co-producer Sora Lopez]. And then once we played that stuff together and just started adding layers, then I came up with the lyrics, freestyled a lot of that. Went back, hashed it out, and then we finished it. So it’s changed in some ways, where I’m open to collaborating from the beginning of a song – but it’s still very tight-knit, not too many cooks in the kitchen.

“A lot of times I’ll keep the first [or] second thing I do, which I’ve always done since I started making music when I was like 14. Once I try to workshop and go back and redo something, I’ve found that’s not really my vibe. So that’s something that I still do and I’ve always done, and I probably will always do.

“I’ve gotten a lot better about not rushing things, but maybe Sora would say differently. I don’t like spending a long time making stuff [laughs], because I feel like if you don’t got it, you don’t got it. Some people are different. Some people spend six years making an album and that’s cool. For me, the journey that I’m at in these two years is not the same that I’m gonna be at two years later.”

What’s on your mind these days and how do you think that might come through in your future music?

“These days, I’m trying to make the next record. I’m just very fortunate, because after I graduated school, I’ve been able to do music full-time. So, now I’m just trying to figure out the next step in what I wanna say next and what that looks like.”

“I’m living a very peaceful life now, trying to figure out my routine outside of being a student. And I’m very much in love now. Just enjoying life and trying to see what comes from it. I’m taking my time with it, and there’s not even a single song done, but that’s kind of what I’m doing. It’s just I’m always trying to navigate, always trying to see how I can be better and always trying to see, you know, what else it is that I have to say.”

Hannah Jadagu’s new album ‘Describe’ is out now via Sub Pop.

Exclusive! Taapsee Pannu on her Denmark home: There’s a lot of history involved

by jummy84 October 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Taapsee Pannu who has been dividing her time between Mumbai and Denmark since she started dating and now post marriage to Danish badminton player Mathias Boe, says they are in the process of finishing the interiors of their vintage home. Opening up on her new home for the first time, she says, “It is a huge house that was built around 1907. There’s a lot of history involved and we wanted to restore as much as possible, there’s vintage furniture that’s been there for decades, which I did not want to get rid of. We requested the previous owners to let us keep it. Labour is extremely expensive in Denmark and transportation, storing things in warehouses costs a bomb so people prefer to sell their stuff. We were lucky to inherit all the vintage lamps, furniture, paintings and chandeliers, it goes with the vintage theme of the house, classic Danish designs.” She adds that the new elements include paintings by Indian artistes, collections from their travels, a new staircase and additional bathrooms.

Taapsee’s house in Denmark

Taapsee says having help from Mathias’s father who was a former architect goes a long way, since the couple is doing the decor themselves. “What is strange for Danes but normal for us Indians is that Mathias’s parents live with us, they have their own space on the ground floor, their bedroom, living room, dining and lounge area. It’s the most Indian thing I brought into the house and it took us a while to convince them because it’s not so common to live with grownup kids in Danish culture. Since we keep travelling we wanted someone to come home to, and it’s a beautiful feeling, it truly feels like home, ” says the actor.

Speaking about their taste in interiors Taapsee says, “Mathias and I have some common tastes but in some matters we agree to disagree, However he’s left most of the interiors to me and his parents, who were also kind to let me decide. However, I discuss with everybody before making any decision.” She adds that while Denmark is “poster perfect” the language barrier is a challenge. “I didn’t feel the need to learn the language until the past few years when we bought the house and had to interact with the locals, read documents so I thought it’s a good idea to know Danish, I can understand and construct basic sentences.”

Speaking about how she divides her time between both countries she says, “It depends on work. We are lucky that most shoots happen in winter as that’s the best season to shoot in India. Very rarely do we have shoots in the summer and rainy season, which is when it is summer in Denmark. We end up spending time in Denmark during peak summer and return to India when the rains subside.”

Sharing her love for Denmark as well as India she says, “In Denmark, the air feels so good and so does the water. There’s a certain dopamine in the air, it gives you a high breathing that air and living that life, which can be addictive. I look forward to turning my life upside down when there, you need to do everything yourself, cooking, cleaning, from buying a milk carton to bread and butter. We cycle at 6am to get groceries. If you need to fix something, you have to hammer the nail yourself. In India it’s easy to get support for your smallest of needs, unlike Denmark but in Denmark it’ the DIY life.”

The actress reveals when she’s back in India, desi food is all she needs on her platter, she says, “I try and have Indian for all meals, right from breakfast of chila and upma, to khichdis. I enjoy food in Denmark, which is different and nice but in India my menu from morning to night is desi food. I love the festive period here, full of dance and music constantly running in the background. I love putting up diyas, drawing rangoli, which I have been doing since I was a child. These rituals are not of tangible consequence but make me feel at home.”

Olly Murs has changed “a lot” since becoming a father of two.

Olly Murs became a father of two last month

The Troublemaker singer welcomed his second baby, son Albert, with his wife Amelia Tank last month and admits that he is “constantly worried” now he has expanded his brood.

Olly – who also has daughter Madison, 18 months, with Amelia – exclusively told BANG Showbiz at the 2025 Variety Club Showbusiness Awards on Sunday (19.10.25): “It’s changed me a lot, definitely!

“You all of a sudden – I don’t know what it is. It’s like, you unlock this, ‘Right, I’m now a dad.’ So you start thinking of things differently.

“You want to protect your family. You’re on your guard the whole time. Don’t trust anyone. You’re out in supermarkets. You’re just constantly worried.

“I remember my mum telling me, ‘You’re gonna be constantly worried for the rest of your life now.’ But it’s a great worry. And I’m loving seeing them grow and teach them new things.”

Olly explained that Madison “hasn’t been affected” by the attention on Albert following his birth.

Asked if caring for the two tots had been tricky, the 41-year-old star said: “I mean, it hasn’t really been tricky, because, obviously, there’s two of us, and there’s two children.

“Maddie’s been with me, if not with me, she’s with her mum. And then if I’ve got Albert. I mean, it’s literally, we’re man marked the whole time.

“And you know what? Madison hasn’t really been affected by it in any shape or form. She hasn’t been jealous or she’s just like, embracing the fact there’s another baby in the room, which is great, and what we’re really excited about is them just growing together and hopefully getting on really well.”

Olly explained that he particularly enjoys getting to cuddle his baby boy.

The former X Factor star said of Albert: “He’s doing fantastic. My wife’s doing great. It’s beautiful. It really is. And I’m getting lots of cuddles.

“When you’ve had a really stressful day and you’ve not had the best time, and then you all of a sudden, you get that beautiful hug from your baby boy. It’s pretty special.”

Olly also revealed that he is open to his children following him into the world of showbiz.

The Dance with Me Tonight hitmaker said: “Definitely! Madison, already, she’s got a little voice coming so, who knows?”

bitchy | Keanu Reeves on rumors that he’s married: people sent a lot of nice messages

Keanu Reeves has a new movie out called Good Fortune. It costars Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, Sandra Oh, and Keke Palmer. He’s also currently doing a Broadway revival of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot with his Bill and Ted co-star Alex Winter. As such, he’s been on a big PR blitz lately. Keanu has no online presence and tends to disappear from the public eye when he’s not promoting anything, so it’s been a treat to get so many new interviews and soundbites.

One of the biggest things Keanu keeps getting asked about is the prevalence of AI-generated deepfake images and scammers using his likeness. Because he has no social media accounts, Keanu is one of the most-imitated stars and has to pay a company to combat scams by removing fake accounts and AI images. A few weeks ago, a fake picture of Keanu and his longtime girlfriend Alexandra Grant made its way around the internet. It showed them in wedding attire and announced that they’d gotten married. Both Alexandra and Keanu’s rep issued statements to deny it. While on the Today show, Keanu brushed it off because ”we’re in that world”. Well, the picture looked real enough that it fooled a lot of people. At the Good Fortune premiere, Keanu shared that the rumors don’t bother him and that he got a lot of “nice messages” from people.

“Well, that wasn’t the first time,” he joked to E! News about rumors circulating that the pair are married. “We’ve been going out for a long time.”

Reeves’ comments come weeks after Grant, 52, reacted to the rumors on Instagram, calling them “fake news.” Alongside a photo of the couple kissing on a staircase, she wrote on Sept. 24, “This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss! (Albeit maybe the moment right before or after it… given the slightly goofy expressions on our faces!).”

“I’m sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married,” the visual artist continued. “Good news is much needed these days, but it’s still fake news, so be careful out there! So, here’s a bit of real happiness!”

Reeves told E! News that Grant “did a wonderful [job]” setting the record straight.

“The wedding, it’s a nice thing,” he said. “People did a lot of nice messages and stuff, but Alexandra just did a wonderful [job] addressing. Like, ‘Thank you, but here’s the reality.’ “

[From People]

Of course people were going to send Keanu nice messages! He’s one of the most beloved actors alive and is widely regarded as one of the nicest people on the planet. I hate that people don’t leave him and Alexandra alone, but at least in this case, he got to feel the love. I wonder if he received a bunch of congratulatory text messages from friends since that’s the only way people could send them to him directly. I’m sure Alexandra also received tons of well wishes and shared them with him. I can’t imagine how stressful it is to be famous in a world where people can just make stuff up about you and back it up by using deepfake AI images. Being so chill about it is such a classic Keanu response, but I suppose he really is used to it by now.

Keanu and Alex were on The Tonight Show on Monday night. Stephen Colbert, who paid tribute to the late Diane Keaton earlier in the show and aired clips of a 2012 interview he’d done with her, asked Keanu to share any fond memories he had of working with her on Something’s Gotta Give. Keanu called her “an extraordinary, unique, special person and artist” and talked about how much he loved watching Diane and Jack Nicholson film that scene where they insult each other. It was a really nice moment.

bitchy | George Clooney: ‘We’re going to get through it, but a lot of damage is going to be done’

George Clooney covers the latest issue of Esquire, all to promote his latest movie, Noah Baumbach’s Jay Kelly. Clooney plays a movie star who wonders if he really showed up for the people in his life. I’ve seen some horrible reviews of the film, but Clooney has enough money and power to ensure that Jay Kelly still has “Oscar buzz.” For me, Clooney is permanently sh-tlisted after what he said and did last year (and this year) about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. This Esquire interview emphasizes yet again that Clooney’s meddling and ratf–king was always just a political abstraction for him, he’s not actually living under the fascist conditions he helped facilitate. He lives full-time in England, France and Italy now. But of course he still has sh-t to say about American politics in this interview:

Performing Good Night, and Good Luck on Broadway: “I was really nervous, as an actor, which I hadn’t been in a long time… I mean, part of it was strictly age related. As you get older—I’m sixty-four—and as you get older, it doesn’t matter how many granola bars you eat; your brain starts to lock up. I had all these long monologues, and I was afraid of blowing my lines. So every single night for one hundred performances, I would do the whole play in the dressing room before I went onstage. I was so terrified.”

His twins are well-adjusted & they’re being raised in France: “Yeah, we’re very lucky. You know, we live on a farm in France. A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid I hated the whole idea of it. But now, for them, it’s like—they’re not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life. I was worried about raising our kids in L. A., in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life. France—they kind of don’t give a sh-t about fame. I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids.”

He came to fatherhood so late: “The only thing I feel lucky about is that I’m so much older that the idea that my son would be compared to me is pretty unlikely, because by the time he actually will have done anything, I’m gonna be gumming my bread.”

America will get through the bad times: “I do believe we get through these things, and if you think back to the times that have been really bad in the country—we’ve had them. I think ’68 was as bad as we could have had. Every city in the United States was on fire and rioting, and the capital was surrounded by armed guards to protect themselves. We killed Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy that year. There was the Tet Offensive…So if you look at it, you go, we’ve been in bad places before. Certainly the Civil War. So we’re going to get through it, but a lot of damage is going to be done along the way because of where we are. And it is heartbreaking to see. And Democrats are gonna have to get their act together— And they will. Coming out of the Iraq war and all that is what brought us Obama—brought us a really good leader. And we’re gonna need it.”

Whether he will ever write another NYT op-ed about a Democrat again: “I don’t think so. I think people have heard enough from me. I wasn’t doing it to, you know—I was doing it because I’d been a personal witness to things, and I also, quite honestly—[Clooney was interrupted].”

He did cocaine in the 1980s. “Eighty-two, I tried—I did blow and stuff. I used to make jokes about how I did too many drugs, but the truth is, it was never a big issue for me at all. And look, there was an episode of Taxi where they’re all doing blow. At the time, it was like, No, this is not like heroin. It’s not addictive. But then it was like, Oh, well, it’s actually pretty f–king bad. Plus, it was all cut with mannitol. The baby laxative. Everybody would do a line and then take a s–t.”

He’s always been a booze guy: “I’ve had periods where, I wouldn’t say it was a problem—I never woke up and drank or anything. But I’d have runs where I’d get pretty toasty every night.”

[From Esquire]

I think Clooney and the podbros say sh-t like “we’ve been through bad times before, we’ll get through them” to avoid taking responsibility for their ratf-cking. Oh, so NOW we should all get along, NOW we should come together? Where were those sentiments when we should have come together to stop this Trump authoritarianism from happening in the first place? Why hasn’t Clooney written a NYT op-ed about Trump’s age and dementia, you know? Where is the 24-7 nitpicking of Trump’s policies from that crew? Anyway, Clooney mostly ran back his greatest hits in this interview and it was just sad. He’s too old to function as a movie star anymore, he needs to step down. We can hold a primary to elect the next Clooney.

Shaq Checks On Kobe Bryant’s Mom ‘Once A Month’: ‘She Has A Lot Of Pain She’s Dealing With’

Shaquille O’Neal is doing what he can to make sure #KobeBryant’s loved ones are all good.

The retired #NBA star shared with PEOPLE that he checks on #Kobe’s mother, Pamela Bryant, “once a month” to support her through her grief. Shaq, who won three championships alongside Kobe during their time on the #Lakers, said that Kobe would often check in on his family before passing in 2020.

The 53-year-old mentioned that he also maintains close contact with Kobe’s sisters, Sharia and Shaya. Shaq expressed:

“Their mom has been through a lot in a couple of years, and that takes a toll, and sometimes you just need somebody to just call to check on you.”

As reported, Kobe’s father passed last July. Touching on that, Shaq continued,

“I kind of know what it feels like with the passing of her son, but I don’t know what it feels like to lose a son and a husband, so I’m sure she has a lot of pain that she’s dealing with.”

He added:

“I just try to make her smile. I just try to do whatever I can, because I know it’s tough.”
