Kevin Spacey Set To Face Civil Sex Assault Claims In London Court

by jummy84 November 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Kevin Spacey will face civil claims of sexual assault from three men at the High Court in London next October.

A British performer named Ruari Cannon, who has waived his right to anonymity, and two other claimants who have not, have alleged Spacey abused them between 2000 and 2015.

A judge set the provisional trial date of 12 October 2026 for the cases at a hearing earlier this week. Spacey denies all the allegations.

Spacey was cleared of nine sexual offence charges at a criminal trial in 2023. He was also found not liable in a U.S. civil case brought by actor Anthony Rapp, who alleged Spacey molested him when he was 14.

Spacey made headlines last week with an interview with The Telegraph newspaper during which he described his financial situation as “not great,” adding, “I’m living in hotels, I’m living in Airbnbs, I’m going where the work is. I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”

The House of Cards alum, who last year appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored to discuss his debts, including the foreclosure of his Baltimore abode, said, “The costs over these last seven years have been astronomical. I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out.”

Spacey likened his predicament to the experiences of actors of yore, who were swept into the Hollywood blacklist as a result of McCarthyism. He cited Kirk Douglas’ willingness to work with screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, then blacklisted, as the type of strategic allyship that could help him right the ship.

“So, my feeling is if Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino call Evan [Lowenstein, Spacey’s manager] tomorrow, it will be over,” he posited. “I will be incredibly honored and delighted when that level of talent picks up the phone. And I believe it’s going to happen.”

Most recently, Spacey wrapped production in the U.K. on an under-the-radar sci-fi thriller called The Tenth Planet. The project was on sale at this year’s American Film Market.

InEvent at ETL London 2025: The AI-Powered Event Tech You’ll Want to See

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

ETL London 2025 is just around the corner, and there’s something brilliant about how the events industry gathers at that one location every year.

ETL London has become a mainstay as Europe’s leading event tech show. It attracts the sharpest minds across production, planning, marketing, and technology, but without the overwhelm of mega-conference chaos.

With event budgets under a microscope and AI pushing into every corner of the workflow, teams are looking for new tech that provides more innovative ways to run events, prove impact, and still create something people remember.

This year, InEvent is leaning all the way into what planners actually need: clarity, automation, and control.

You will find the team at ETL demoing some of the sharpest new solutions on the market, like AI-powered registration that lets you build adaptive registration forms in minutes, facial recognition that shortens check-in lines, and personalized dashboards that give sponsors more than just vanity metrics.

Their presence isn’t just about features. It’s about friction. Or rather, removing it.

With solutions like custom-branded event websites to enterprise-grade analytics, all deployed on Microsoft Azure, InEvent is helping large teams simplify complexity and speed up go-live.

The same team that builds the software will actually sit down with you to map your goals, budget, and timeline. It promises to be a conversation, grounded in real event pressures. For many planners, that’s been the difference between “we used a platform” and “we hit our targets.”

Meet InEvent At ETL

And if you’re arriving in London a little early…

InEvent will be hosting a private waterfront dinner on November 11th, 2025. With just 14 seats available, reservations are flying out faster than they can track. (News has it that the IMEX dinner was absolutely amazing!)

Details:

  • London Docklands
  • Tuesday, 11 November 2025 · 6:00 PM GMT

So if dining with some of the brightest minds in the industry while savoring handmade Italian with a fantastic view of London’s sunset is right up your alley, you should be at this dinner!

“No Strategy Is the Strategy”: Kiko Kostadinov on Opening a London Store (That’s Also Much More)

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

“It should be fine,” says Kiko Kostadinov brightly last Friday afternoon — just as the urgent grind of a power drill sounds through the floor of his office. Beneath the new East London studio space Kostadinov and his team moved into in April, his third store is being fitted out. This Friday, 7 November, it will open with a show: the first ever to blend the menswear designed by Kostadinov himself with the womenswear created by Laura and Deanna Fanning.

The space is at 21 Whiston Road, near Columbia Road and Broadway Market. The studio occupies the first floor; the store below (mid-construction as we speak), will be shaped around a reassembled artwork by ongoing collaborators Ryan Trecartin and Lizzie Fitch. “It’s really an artwork recontextualized into a store,” Kostadinov says. “It’s exciting to keep the narrative between the three stores, Tokyo, LA and now London, all part of Ryan’s universe.” The installation piece arrives in 10 crates, and has yet fully to be pieced together: Kostadinov is confident of meeting Friday’s deadline.

The London space will complete a loose trilogy of ad hoc Kostadinov flagships that have grown independently. Tokyo opened in March 2024, followed by Los Angeles last November. “Tokyo is sustainable and solid,” he says. “LA is a bit intense; there, it’s a different way of shopping.” Each store operates with local programming and generates content through its own Instagram account. In LA, for instance, the store partners with Rocky Xu’s Rocky’s Matcha to host monthly breakfasts. London will follow a similarly organic rhythm, opening Thursday to Saturday, and maybe sometimes on Sunday to coincide with the Columbia Road Flower Market.

Broadwick secures eight-figure investment to power the future of cultural infrastructure in London and beyond

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Broadwick Group – the global cultural real estate and live-experience company behind landmark destinations such as Printworks London, Magazine London, and Manchester’s Depot Mayfield – has secured a new financing partnership to accelerate its next phase of expansion in the UK and internationally.

Led by founders Simon Tracey, Simeon Aldred and Bradley Thompson, with Gareth Cooper and Jon Drape, Broadwick’s growing portfolio consists of 24 venues in the UK and US – including the new Brooklyn Storehouse in New York City – and reflects a new generation of hybrid destinations. Each space shares a single purpose: to bring people together and inspire the future of live culture, creating places where music, art, technology, and commerce meet.

The funding from Lloyds marks a significant milestone in Broadwick’s long-term strategy to scale its network of venues and services.

The eight-figure investment, brokered by the debt advisor Alvarez & Marshall LLP, will support the recent acquisition of hospitality operator Camm & Hooper – adding iconic London venues such as Banking Hall, OXO2 and 26 Leake Street to the Broadwick portfolio – alongside major site upgrades and the creation of new jobs in London and beyond.

Broadwick currently employs more than 200 permanent team members, including 35 colleagues from Camm & Hooper’s existing staff and a further 50 new roles within its growing catering and hospitality division – underscoring the Group’s commitment to job creation, skills development, and sustainable growth across the sector.

Broadwick has also entered a new partnership with Troxy, the iconic East London music hall, to increase capacity and add state-of-the-art facilities.

As London’s cultural and events landscape continues to evolve, Broadwick is focused on creating ‘must-attend’ venues and experiences that strengthen the city’s reputation on the global stage. Its venues host everything from large-scale music and cultural events to international brand launches, art installations, film productions, and high-end corporate experiences.

Alongside its venue portfolio, Broadwick delivers a full end-to-end offering across events, hospitality, and production – transforming heritage buildings, industrial conversions, and purpose-built destinations into experiences that unite creativity with commerce. From concept and catering to design, production, and technical delivery, Broadwick’s integrated model supports its ambition to build a connected network of spaces that serve both the 9-to-5 and the 5-to-9 alike.

Simon Tracey, Group CEO at Broadwick, said: “Broadwick was founded to connect people through remarkable spaces – from global music events to major brand launches and creative gatherings. As our portfolio continues to expand across the UK and US, we’re focused on building the next generation of hybrid destinations: places that inspire, perform, and endure.”

“The support from Lloyds gives us the ability to invest in growth, talent, and infrastructure – ensuring our spaces continue to deliver long-term value for partners, audiences, and cities.”

Declan Mulcahy, Relationship Director at Lloyds Bank, said: “Broadwick’s vision for how culture, hospitality, and real estate can work together is redefining the live-experience sector. It’s a privilege to support a business that continues to set new standards for creativity, regeneration, and economic impact – both in London and internationally.”

Steven Knight, Director of Growth & Structured Finance at Lloyds Bank, added: “Broadwick exemplifies the type of forward-thinking, high-growth company that our Growth & Structured Finance team is built to support. This bespoke funding package enables the business to accelerate its strategy, unlock new opportunities, and continue shaping the future of global cultural infrastructure.”

written by jummy84

Excel London has today announced it has appointed James Mark to the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Mark, who previously worked at the venue from 2000 – 2016 and played a pivotal role in the delivery of its London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, brings with him more than 30 years’ experience, together with an extensive executive career.

As well as being a key member of Excel’s launch team and delivering more than 3,000 events, Mark has worked across many of the UK’s flagship venues including Earls Court, the London Stadium and the Barbican Centre, as well as senior leadership positions at Therme Group UK.

Returning to Excel earlier this year, Mark will have full oversight of operational departments, as well as form part of Excel’s Executive and Leadership teams, providing strategic level input to the day-to-day and ongoing development of the business.

Continuing to support him on the operations leadership at Excel will be Kerrie Kemp, Director of Venue Operations and Lee Lacey, Facilities Director.

Speaking about the appointment, Excel’s CEO Jeremy Rees said: “Since rejoining the Excel family earlier this year, James has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic insight, and operational expertise, drawing upon his extensive knowledge of the events industry. This breadth of experience gives him a deep understanding of our operational needs, and I’m delighted to have someone of his calibre onboard.”

Rees added: “This key appointment, together with the continual investment in our people, venue and infrastructure, reinforces our commitment to the events industry and our mission to become the best event destination in the world.”

James Mark added: “It’s a real privilege to be rejoining Excel, a venue that holds many great memories for me. In the 25-years since its opening, Excel has gone from strength-to-strength and I’m excited to continue that journey with the team to deliver best-in-class experiences for all our event organisers, exhibitors and visitors.”

Excel will now round out its packed 2025 event calendar with major international shows including the World Travel Market (4-6 November), Gartner’s IOCS 2025 (17-18 November), the London International Horse Show (18-22 December), together with five immersive experiences at Excel’s Immerse LDN. Excel will also play host to this year’s AEV Conference (14 November), just ahead of the venue’s official 25th anniversary celebrations.

The 9 Biggest London Winter Shoe Trends of Winter 2025

by jummy84 October 31, 2025
written by jummy84

With winter fast approaching and the temperature dropping by the day, every time I pull out what was once a fail-safe capsule-wardrobe outfit, one question always pops into my head: Do these shoes work with this outfit right now?

Now, let me be frank. Despite being a fashion editor who loves to witness trends come to fruition, I’m not one to subscribe to the “dated” shoe trend spiel. I truly believe that when you invest well, your shoes should transition with you through the years. But having worn down my favourite trainers past the point of no return and broken the heel of my go-to boots, this season, I’m in the market to invest in one or two new pairs of winter shoes myself. But with so many expensive-looking options on the market, which to go for?

From the autumn/ winter 2025 runways, where we saw the meteoric rise of snake-print boots to some of the coolest collaborations of late (Nike X Jacquemus, I’m looking at you!), London’s eclectic streets have been filled with a plethora of enviable shoes, each vying for our attention. In particular, the ever-popular Dries Van Noten slimline retro trainers and the UGG Zora (which debuted at Talia Brye’s spring/summer 2026 runway show) come to mind. This season, it feels like there’s no shortage of cold-weather footwear to choose from, each with the power to elevate every winter outfit with ease.

With so many practical options out there, I did what I always do when faced with a fashion conundrum and took a deep dive into my social feeds, looking at how London’s best-dressed were styling this season’s shoe trends. To my surprise (and delight), I found plenty of inspiration. From cosy shearling-lined boots that are perfect for frosty days, to sleek, low-profile trainers which will take you from your commute to post-work drinks with ease, the list of shoe trends perfect for the season ahead is endless, and I have a feeling that my ever-burning question will be silenced, for this season at least!

Below, discover the nine London-based shoe trends worth investing in this season.

9 Stylish Shoe Trends Londoners Are Wearing This Winter

1. Brown Suede

Style Notes: It goes without saying that when you pair the colour and fabric of the season (brown suede), you get a shoe trend that will work hard year after year. Subtle yet impactful, these luxe-looking styles ooze a versatility that will rival your capsule-wardrobe neutrals. Just don’t forget your suede protectant!

2. Slim, ’70s-Style Sneakers

Fashion person Marianne Smyth shoes London winter shoe trends 2025. She shoes the Dries Van Noten trainers

Style Notes: If you’re an avid Who What Wear UK reader, you’ll know that slimline, retro trainers are one winter shoe trend we’re heavily subscribing to. From the IYKYK Dries Van Noten trainers, which have a distinct ‘70s edge, to the sleek COS iteration, the fashion people on my socials can’t get enough, proving that they’re just as impactful as a boot or loafer.

These trainers have fast become one of the most sought-after collabs between a sportswear brand and a designer label.

3. Square-Toe Boots

Fashion person Felicity Bird wears London winter shoe trends 2025. She wears square toed boots.

Style Notes: The perfect all-rounder, black boots are one of the rare shoe trends which never date, but truly come into their own once winter arrives. If you want to lend a distinct ’90s edge, opt for a pair defined by a square toe. They lend jeans a chic elevation and give winter midi or maxi skirts an overtly cool and subtly flirtatious finish.

Shop Square-Toe Boots:

4. Mock-Croc

Fashion person Abi Marvel wears London winter shoe trends 2025. She wears mock croc loafers.

Style Notes: An expansion of the growing animal-print trend, mock-croc is the gift that keeps on giving. Loved for its glossy, expensive-looking finish, this texture is an easy way to punctuate a casual look with a smart and polished finish, and with so many iterations out there, all that’s left to do is choose your desired silhouette.

5. Shearling-Lined

Fashion person Allison Ho wears London winter shoe trends 2025. She wears the UGG Zora ballet flat.

Style Notes: Winter in London calls for cosy, and what’s cosier than something lined with shearling? Providing all the endless toe warmth and foot comfort needed when the winter chill sets in, this season’s shearling styles are impossible to ignore. Take inspiration from the UGG Zora, a directional ballet flat that’s taken the fashion set by storm. It’s safe to say that practical comfort has never looked so chic.

Shop Shearling-Lined:

Women's Classic Micro Boot

Kaia Gerber was recently spotted sporting these UGGs with bootcut jeans and a pretty satin blouse.

Miu Miu

Suede and Shearling Mid-Calf Boot

I have a sneaking suspicion these boots will be everywhere this season.

6. Minimalist Loafers

Fashion person Anna Laure Mais wears a london winter shoe trend. She wears black loafers.

Style Notes: It’s no secret that loafers are a timeless wardrobe essential, but whilst everyone seems to be talking about the charm of suede pairs, I find myself drawn to the understated appeal of a minimalist leather silhouette. Free from chunky soles or ruched trims, these loafers ooze quiet luxury, channelling a refined ease and elevated simplicity. Think The Rows Canal Loafer with its clean lines and supple leather. These styles transcend trends and naturally pair well with everything in your wardrobe.

Shop Simple Loafers:

Arrange Alba Premium Leather Minimal Loafer in Black

ASOS ARRANGE

Alba Premium Leather Minimal Loafer

ASOS Arrange is one of my favourite places to shop lately.

Florana - 3 / Black

The grained leather is a nice touch.

7. Animal Print

Fashion person Lauren Nicole wears London winter shoe trends. She wears an animal print shoe.

Style Notes: Spotted on everyone from Kate Moss to Rihanna, animal-print shoes are the once-niche trend that’s officially gone mainstream. Adding an instant cool edge to your step, they’re the ultimate statement-maker, grounding a simple jeans-and-tee look or adding personality to an otherwise minimal outfit.

8. Slouchy Silhouettes

Fashion person Sofia Mcoelho wears London winter shoe trends. She wears slouchy boots.

Style Notes: With the trend towards pirate and even medieval-style(!) fashion, slouchy boots are back in the spotlight once more. Loved for their oversized maximalist silhouette, both fashion people and designers alike (see the highly hyped H&M X Glenn Martens collaboration) are using these boots almost as an exclamation point to elevate an outfit, drawing your eyes to your shoes first. With both extreme and more wearable iterations rising in popularity, they’re certified as a cool way to add some visual interest in winter 2025. You might need an extra pair of hands to hoist them on, though!

Shop Slouchy Boots:

Asos Design Caden Chunky Fold Over Flat Knee Boot in Beige Suedette

ASOS DESIGN

Caden Chunky Fold Over Flat Knee Boot

Cooler than a biker boot, this pair looks super-expensive.

The black suede keeps them wearable.

The Attico, Robin Leather Combat Boots

The Attico

Gaining popularity last year for their cool design and laid-back edge, I’ve already spotted some of my favourite fashion people dusting off their Robin boots once more.

Davina Slouch Boot

Reformation

Davina Slouch Boot

Look to this Reformation style for a shorter height.

9. “Dad” Trainers

Olivia Grace Herring wears London winter shoe trends. She wears cool dad trainers.

Style Notes: I know what you’re thinking: surely this isn’t the return of those Balenciaga Triple S “womper stompers” that dominated the late 2010s? I promise it’s not. However, a trainer that strikes the balance between retro and chunky offers unrivalled comfort and easy practicality. They give a throw-on-and-go coolness that works with everything from baggy jeans to tailored trousers, which is why everyone in the know has been clamouring to get their hands on the latest crop of dad styles, like the New Balance 204L.

Shop Dad Trainers:

New Balance, New Balance 204l

I’ve worn these trainers every day since I bought them!

Salomon Xt-6 Unisex Trainers in Black and Phantom

Salomon

XT-6 Unisex Trainers

These trainers pair just as well with jeans as they do leggings.

The pink is a fun addition to this cool-girl style.

Asics, GEL-1130

Nike Air Max Moto 2k Unisex Trainers in White and Silver

Westlife paid tribute to missing bandmate Mark Feehily as they celebrated their 25th anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday night (27.10.25).

The Irish boy band played the first of two sold out nights at the iconic venue in the UK capital but took to the stage as a trio – Shane Filan, Nicky Bryne and Kian Egan – following Mark’s decision last year to pull out of Westlife’s touring commitments due to a number of serious health issues which have included surgery, sepsis and an incisional hernia.

Halfway through the two-hour gig, Shane, 46, took a moment to remember Mark, 45, and tell fans that despite his absence from the stage Mark features on the group’s upcoming album.

Shane told the crowd: “I want to take a little moment now to speak about Mark who is unfortunately not with us tonight. But we love him, we miss him and we cannot wait to have him back on this stage with us.

“The good news is he’s obviously on the new music which you’ve heard already. And the next album obviously as well. We have a new album coming out in February.”

Shane and his bandmates then dedicated Flying Without Wings to Mark, citing it as his favourite song.

That wasn’t the only moment the Westlife boys took to speak with their loyal fans in attendance.

Nicky, 47, admitted he would never have believed when they started out 25 years ago that two guys from Dublin and three from Sligo would make it on stage at the Royal Albert Hall which has hosted music legends like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in the past.

Nicky said: “We were just five lads from Ireland – two from Dublin and three from Sligo – and now we are here.

“I was looking to see the legends and the people of notoriety, the list is endless, from kings and queens that have been standing on this stage to bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones … Frank Sinatra stood on this stage and now its Westlife.

“All our families are over here for a couple of days, the Irish are in town!”

Westlife’s set was packed with greatest hits from their two-and-a-half decade spanning career and highlights included World of Our Own, Queen of My Heart and I Have a Dream as well as swing classics Ain’t That A Kick in the Head and Mack the Knife.

Last year, Mark announced via his Instagram account that he was withdrawing from Westlife’s first tour of America and other dates after undergoing hernia surgery in the wake of other serious health issues.

He posted: “It’s Mark here… Most of you are aware that I have had some health challenges over the past while.

“It actually all started 3.5 years ago in August 2020 when I had surgery. Within a few days of this surgery I was in severe pain and was rushed into A+E.

“I eventually ended that awful day in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where I was informed that due to a complication with the surgery, I had developed severe ‘Sepsis’, a life-threatening infection that would require immediate emergency surgery to rectify the problem and basically save my life.

“I spent the next few months in hospital. It was during lockdown. For months, due to strict Covid restrictions, I was not allowed any visitors including my fiance and my then 10-month-old daughter. It was physically and mentally a very difficult time, not to mention traumatic having to spend so long in ICU.

“In late 2021, I became very ill in Newcastle before a concert and ended up back in A+E, this time being told I had pneumonia. I was told I had to go straight home to recover and regrettably miss the rest of the concerts that December.

“I was referred to a consultant who told me I needed more surgery which I went ahead with in May 2022 meaning I was forced to miss more of The Wild Dreams tour.

“Three months after that surgery, I tried my best to soldier on for you guys and to go back on tour but unfortunately the physical demands of the concerts and extensive travel were proving too much for me.

“I developed a very large ‘incisional hernia’ and I was told that I needed further surgery to fix it. This would be my fourth major surgery since the start of it all, but I had no option.

“‘It is with the upmost level of regret that I must now temporarily stand down from all Westlife touring until a time that I have had the chance to fully recover from the turbulent journey I have been through as an individual.

“Believe me, I wish things could be different! I would like to thank you so very much for your support and understanding of me and my health over the past few years.

Tickets for Westlife 25: The Anniversary World Tour are on sale this Friday (31.10.25) at 10am and their album The Ultimate Collection is out 13 February 2026.
