Jessica Simpson feels “blessed” to have “gone through the hard stuff” in her life.

Jessica Simpson has been through lots of ups and downs

The 45-year-old star has returned to performing music live, after separating from husband Eric Johnson earlier this year, and Jessica is now looking to the future with optimism.

The blonde beauty – who has Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, six, with Eric – told People: “I was just in Pittsburgh to perform for the first time since 2008 for 60-plus minutes. It felt like home. It was such an adrenaline rush. It was beautiful for me.

“I’m actually blessed to have gone through the hard stuff that I went through. I feel like I’m on the other side. I’m proud to be doing music independently and have my kids rooting for me. It’s more free than I’ve ever been.”

Jessica revealed in July that she was ready to start dating again.

The singer was asked by Today show co-host Jenna Bush-Hager: “Are you interested in dating? Can I set you up with anybody?”

Jessica replied: “I’d totally jump on that. Yes I’m single – very into like, very … I’m ready!”

Jenna subsequently questioned: “What are you into so I can set my criteria?”

And Jessica then explained: “My type of person is one of a kind. I don’t have a look, or anything.

“I just like for somebody to be individually, who they are. And exude confidence without the ego.

“It’s hard to find but I feel like it’s out there. I don’t need somebody to be supportive of me all the time.

“I feel like the independence that I have right now, if I can have that and give it to someone else, that’d be cool.”

Jessica announced her split from Eric in January.

The pop star wrote on Instagram at the time: “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage

“Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”

Hollywood Stars and Their Bold Ventures Beyond the Screen – Hollywood Life

The glamour of Hollywood has a tendency to cloud another facet of its biggest stars: their business ambitions. While acting is their main source of stardom, many actors and celebrities have dabbled in as varied ventures as casinos, restaurants, fitness, technology, and health. For some, they have turned into global empires, but for others, they have faced setbacks that suggest that stardom does not equate to business success.

Jay-Z and the Casino Bid That Was Rejected

In September 2025, Jay-Z’s high-profile bid to construct a New York Times Square casino was rejected by a state advisory committee. Jay-Z, with Caesars Entertainment and SL Green Realty, had envisioned a massive entertainment complex with a casino, hotel, and nightlife spots under his Roc Nation brand. While Jay-Z might have 99 problems, running a large casino is no longer one.

The bid was turned down amidst protests by Broadway theaters’ owners and local leaders over the potential impact of the bid on the neighborhood’s culture, traffic, and community balance. Despite the turn-down, the bid highlighted how celebrities are being drawn more and more to entertainment and amusement-based businesses. Modern casino culture is also found online, where online platforms like Coin Poker AU are pioneering new ground in online gaming by merging poker with blockchain. With Jay-Z’s bid being rejected, more New York residents might have to stick to playing online for now.

Francis Ford Coppola and the World of Wine

Francis Ford Coppola, the legendary film director, is a case in point of a Hollywood star who pursued a personal interest and made it a money-spinner. His Sonoma County winery is now a major tourist attraction, offering both fine wine and tourist destination status. Coppola’s love of wine is part of his desire to create art beyond the screen, combining storytelling and the culture of the host.

Robert De Niro and Nobu Restaurants

Robert De Niro is always renowned for his intensity on screen, but his business tactics are no less calculated. He joined forces with Nobu, now the iconic restaurant chain that prepares Japanese cuisine. From its New York roots, Nobu has spread across the globe with dozens of restaurants and upscale hotels. De Niro’s good taste in talent and his support of chef Nobu Matsuhisa transformed one dining area into an international giant.

Mark Wahlberg: From Burgers to Getting in Shape

Mark Wahlberg is the most visible example of an actor who has diversified into numerous fields. With his brothers Donnie and Paul, he established Wahlburgers, a casual restaurant chain that has grown to have locations in the United States, Canada, and abroad. The chain even spawned a reality television show, adding to its exposure.

In addition to burgers, Wahlberg has made a mark in the global fitness industry. His F45 Training investment, which is an international chain of high-intensity exercise fitness gyms, is an indication of his celebrity persona as a self-disciplined and physically dedicated human being. Through Wahlburgers and F45, Wahlberg demonstrates how celebrities can leverage their own brand and use it to build successful businesses that resonate with mass consumers.

While these might be the most noteworthy businesses Wahlberg owns, he does, in fact, own several other businesses too, from his own clothing line to bottled water; his reach extends far beyond Hollywood these days.

Jessica Alba and The Honest Company

Jessica Alba co-founded The Honest Company with the vision of providing non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning products for the household. It began as a niche company that catered to baby and wellness products and then branched out into a popular brand. The Honest Company went public in 2021, validating Alba as not just a good actress but also a serious entrepreneur who rode on growing consumer demand for environmentally friendly, toxin-free products.

Ashton Kutcher and Venture Investments

Ashton Kutcher may have started in sitcoms, but his career as an investor after acting has made him a contender as one of Hollywood’s most successful investors. Through A-Grade Investments and recently Sound Ventures, he has invested in early-stage businesses like Airbnb, Uber, and Spotify. The bets were enormous payoffs, making Kutcher one of the prominent figures in Silicon Valley. His story proves that celebrities can be successful in ventures away from the entertainment field if they are open to experimenting and discovering.

Ryan Reynolds and Aviation Gin

Ryan Reynolds, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, turned a then-niche gin brand into a global brand through smart marketing and his signature humor. His collaboration with Aviation Gin was remarkable, more than a typical celebrity endorsement, given that he engaged in the brand’s strategy and campaigns proactively. The business was sold to Diageo in 2020 in a deal worth up to $610 million. Reynolds’ story reveals how charm and storytelling, cultivated in Hollywood, are weapons strong enough to yield great outcomes in business.

Hollywood Entrepreneurs: Life Lessons

The ventures of Jay-Z, Robert De Niro, Mark Wahlberg, Jessica Alba, Ashton Kutcher, and Ryan Reynolds demonstrate the opportunity and danger of celebrity entrepreneurship. Celebrity will open doors and attract investors, but longevity requires commitment, vision, and an unmistakable understanding of the industry selected.

Not every business works, as Jay-Z’s failed casino attempt clearly shows, but failing is part of the entrepreneur’s journey. What binds these stars is the desire to bet and take a chance beyond the film set. Their diversions prove Hollywood’s influence pervades boardrooms, dinner parties, vineyards, and even fitness studios globally.

Hollywood actors and entertainers are no longer content to rely solely on the unpredictable nature of film careers. By branching into industries as diverse as casinos, restaurants, fitness, wellness, and technology, they show that creativity and ambition can transcend the screen. While not all ventures succeed, the stories of these stars inspire audiences to see them as more than entertainers. They are entrepreneurs, innovators, and risk-takers, proving that reinvention is as much a part of Hollywood as acting itself.

Two major television station conglomerates are “pre-empting” Jimmy Kimmel Live! despite ABC’s reinstatement of the show: Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group. The companies own multiple TV stations affiliated with The Walt Disney Company’s ABC. Here, we explain what Nexstar is, which ABC stations it oversees and how this affects Jimmy Kimmel.

What Is Nexstar Media Group?

Nexstar is the largest television station owner in the U.S. as of 2025. It owns 197 stations around the country. Nexstar now operates The CW and The CW Plus.

Will Nexstar Air Jimmy Kimmel?

No, like Sinclair Broadcast Group, Nexstar is also refusing to air Jimmy Kimmel Live! even though ABC reinstated the show.

On September 23, 2025, Nexstar released a statement, which read, “We made a decision last week to preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! following what ABC referred to as Mr. Kimmel’s ‘ill-timed and insensitive’ comments at a critical time in our national discourse. We stand by that decision pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve.”

“In the meantime, we note that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be available nationwide on multiple Disney-owned streaming products, while our stations will focus on continuing to produce local news and other programming relevant to their respective markets,” Nexstar pointed out.

The updated news release was titled, “Company Will Monitor the Show as it Returns to ABC.”

JUST IN: Nexstar joins Sinclair, announces they will continue preempting Jimmy Kimmel following his comments on Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

What ABC Stations Belong to Nexstar?

Here are some of the ABC affiliate’s that Nexstar owns:

  • WDHN: Dothan, Alabama
  • WTNH: New Haven, Connecticut
  • WEHT: Evansville, Indiana
  • WGNO: New Orleans, Louisiana
  • WSYR-TV: Syracuse, New York

The full list of Nexstar’s ABC affiliated stations can be found here.

Why Won’t Nexstar Air Jimmy Kimmel Live!?

Like Sinclair, Nexstar pointed to a remark that Kimmel made related to Tyler Robinson, the suspected shooter in Charlie Kirk‘s murder.

“The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said during a September 15, 2025, episode of his late-night show. “In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.”

Shortly thereafter, Nexstar alerted Disney and the public that it would not air Kimmel’s show for the “foreseeable future” and added that it “strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

Shortly after news broke of Kirk’s death, Kimmel released a formal statement on Instagram, sending his condolences to the Kirk family.

“Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human?” Kimmel wrote in a message on Instagram. “On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.”

It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

Lisa Marie Presley came into the limelight as entertainment royalty. The singer and songwriter was the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley and cultivated a successful career all her own. But throughout her life, fans were always fascinated by her relationships, marriages, and divorces — especially after Baz Luhrmann‘s glittering biopic Elvis dazzled critics and audiences in 2022, with Austin Butler winning a Golden Globe for playing her famous father.

On January 12, 2023, Lisa Marie was taken to the hospital in “full” cardiac arrest, with EMTs reportedly performing CPR at her home in Calabasas, per TMZ. Sadly, just a few hours later, Priscilla announced that Lisa had died. Her former loves were among the first to pay their respects and remember her spirit. Famed guitarist Michael Lockwood said his “world has been turned on its ear” when the news broke of her passing, while Nicolas Cage confessed he was “heartbroken” by the news.

We’re taking a look back at Lisa Marie Presley’s relationship history with the below comprehensive timeline.

Danny Keough

— LMP Source 🕊 (@lmpsource) December 5, 2023

Lisa Marie and Danny Keough, an actor and musician, started dating in the mid-80s when Lisa Marie was a teenager. Danny is roughly three years older than Lisa. By October 1988, when Lisa Marie was 20 years old, the couple married and had two children shortly thereafter. Less than one year after saying “I do,” Lisa Marie and Danny welcomed their first child, daughter Danielle Riley Keough, born in May 1989. Their daughter, who goes by Riley, is a famed actress who’s appeared in films like American Honey, Best Picture nominee Mad Max: Fury Road, and stars in the upcoming film Zola alongside Taylor Paige.

The couple’s second child, son Benjamin Storm Keough, was born in October 1992. After nearly six years of marriage, the couple divorced in May 1994. Danny and Lisa have, however, remained incredibly close since their divorce, and rumors even circulated years later that the former couple might get back together. Despite those rumors stemming from mere speculation with no basis in fact, the two leaned on each other after their split.

In July 2020, the former couple suffered a devastating tragedy when their son, Ben, died by suicide at the age of 27. In March 2021, a report circulated that the two grieving parents were living together during their time of mourning and sorrow. However, there was nothing romantic to the arrangement. In the years since their split, Lisa Marie had nothing but warm compliments for her former partner. She’s also expressed her regret that her marriage to Danny ended. “My biggest mistake? Let’s see,” she told Marie Claire in a 2007 interview. “How can I word this? Um. Well. Leaving my first marriage, for the person that I left it for — that was probably the biggest mistake of my life.”

Michael Jackson

Lisa Marie knew Michael Jackson since 1975, but their relationship didn’t become romantic until roughly 1992. They wed in 1994, and Lisa Marie revealed the news in a statement to People Magazine. “My marriage to Michael Jackson took place in a private ceremony outside the United States weeks ago,” she told the outlet, adding that her married name was Lisa Marie Presley-Jackson. “I am very much in love with Michael, I dedicate my life to being his wife. I understand and support him. We both look forward to raising a family.”

The former couple’s relationship quickly fell apart. The two divorced in 1996, as Michael’s drug problem and accusations of pedophilia clouded his career. Lisa Marie spoke to Oprah Winfrey about the end of their marriage in a 2003 interview. “He had to make a decision. Was it the drugs and the vampires or me?” Lisa Marie said. “And he pushed me away.” Michael and Lisa Marie’s divorce was finalized in 1996.

Priscilla revealed shocking details about her late daughter’s marriage to Michael in her 2025 memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis. According to an excerpt published by The Sun, Priscilla wrote that she was “appalled” by Lisa Marie and Michael’s marriage.

“I knew in my bones that Michael wasn’t marrying Lisa Marie; he was marrying the Presley dynasty,” Priscilla alleged. “Michael was a manipulative man, and I think he had his sights set on her long before she realized it.”

Nicolas Cage

After meeting at a party in 2000, Lisa Marie began dating actor Nicolas Cage. The former couple had a whirlwind romance, and got married in August 2002. Just months later, however, the Oscar winning actor filed for divorce from Lisa in November 2002. It took some time for their separation to become official. Their divorce was finalized sometime in 2004. In his statement after her passing, he said, “This is devastating news. Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken. I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin.”

Michael Lockwood

Lisa Marie married for a fourth time in January 2006 to musician Michael Lockwood. Just two years later, Lisa Marie revealed that she was pregnant and gave birth to fraternal twin daughters, Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood, in October 2008. Eight years after the birth of their girls, Lisa Marie filed for divorce from Michael. The separation, however, was marred by a string of serious allegations and more legal issues.

Over the course of four years, the two went back and forth lobbing serious allegations at each other. In 2017, the twin girls were taken into protective care by the California Department of Children and Family Services. By 2020, however, Lisa Marie obtained joint custody of their daughters. In a statement shared by Michael’s lawyer with ET Online after her passing, he said, “Michael had been hoping for a speedy and complete recovery because her children needed her. It is very sad it didn’t turn out that way. Michael’s world has been turned on its ear. He is with both of his daughters now.”

As of March 2023, Lisa Marie’s ex-husband Michael Lockwood petitioned to become the twins legal guardian amid on-going drama for her estate and control of Graceland. Lisa Marie left her estate — including the home of her late father — to her three daughters Harper, Finley and their order half sister Riley — however, their grandmother Priscilla Presley is also fighting to be trustee. Michael was granted guardianship on April 13, 2023 as the legal battle for the estate continues.

John Oszajca

In the years after her marriage to Michael, Lisa started seeing musician John Oszajca. The two got engaged sometime between 1999 and 2000. Their romance didn’t last long, though. In 2000, Lisa Marie met the man who would become her third husband, and she subsequently broke off her engagement to John that same year.

Lauren was born and raised in Lynnfield, Massachusetts. She later attended Emerson College in Boston, where she studied public relations and communications.

Lauren Is a Singer and Songwriter

Lauren was born into the music industry—her father, the late Sib Hashian, was the drummer for the classic rock band Boston. Sib passed away unexpectedly in 2017 while performing on a cruise ship, leaving behind a legacy that deeply influenced Lauren and even touched Dwayne, who referred to him as his “second dad.”

“Rest in Peace & Love to my second dad Sib Hashian,” Dwayne wrote on Instagram on March 23, 2017. “What a full and exciting life this man lived. What an amazing family he created, loved, watched over and protected. Being on stage, in front of adoring fans, friends and family. Keeping the beat one last time.”

Following in her father’s footsteps, Lauren built a career as a singer and songwriter. She competed on the 2005 UPN reality show R U the Girl?, where contestants vied for the chance to perform with TLC, and she later released singles of her own, including “Ride the Wave” and “Samson.” Reflecting on her father’s impact in a 2021 interview with Billboard, Lauren explained how music became her purpose.

“Seeing him practice every day, for me, it became part of my purpose — ‘He practices every day, I should practice every day, too.’ And so I have been practicing on my own in my room for years.”

She Met The Rock in 2006

Lauren met Dwayne in 2006 while he was filming The Game Plan in Boston. The two quietly began dating after his split from ex-wife Dany Garcia and have been together ever since.

“I’ve lived with my longtime girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, going on, like, eight, nine years now. She’s a singer-songwriter. We spend a lot of time with my daughter in Florida, Simone, who’s 13,” Johnson told Esquire at the time.

She Married Dwayne in 2019

After meeting in 2006, the pair began dating the following year after Dwayne announced his separation from his first wife, Dany. They made their red-carpet debut in 2013, welcomed kids, and tied the knot on August 18, 2019, in an intimate ceremony in Hawaii.

“Seeing our wedding moments will always fill my cup with the purest gratitude and emotion…” Lauren wrote via Instagram on their first anniversary in August 2020, alongside a breathtaking wedding video. “Thank you for everything you are and everything you do MH! Happy Anniversary 🙂 I love YOU!!!”

She and Dwayne Have Two Daughters

Lauren became a proud “girl mom” before marrying Dwayne, welcoming daughter Jasmine Lia Johnson on December 16, 2015, and daughter Tiana Gia Johnson on April 17, 2018. She is also stepmom to Dwayne’s eldest, Simone Alexandra Johnson, from his first marriage.

Lauren finds fulfillment in motherhood, and has taken to social media on National Daughters Day to share her love for them. “Love. Happiness. Purpose,” she wrote in a Sept. 26, 2020 Instagram post, alongside a photo of Jasmine and Tiana. “My world and future #NationalDaughtersDay the whole reasons.”

When Is Jimmy Kimmel Back on the Air? Latest Updates on His Return – Hollywood Life

Since Jimmy Kimmel Live! was “pre-empted indefinitely” in ABC’s own words, there’s a chance the comedian’s show could return. As critics and fans clash over the Disney network’s decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel, some are wondering if and when he’ll come back on the air.

Below, Hollywood Life has compiled everything we know so far about Kimmel’s potential return to ABC.

Was Jimmy Kimmel Fired by ABC?

No, despite false assumptions circulating online, Kimmel has not been fired; he was suspended “indefinitely.”

Why Was Jimmy Kimmel Suspended?

Kimmel was suspended for his remarks about Charlie Kirk‘s suspected shooter, Tyler Robinson. Days after Kimmel sent his condolences to the Kirk family and condemned gun violence, he said on his show’s September 15, 2025, broadcast, “The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.”

During that episode, the comedian showed how Donald Trump responded to a reporter’s question on how he was coping with Kirk’s death.

“I think very good, and by the way, right there — do you see all the trucks?” the president asked. “They just started construction for the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they’ve been trying to get as, you know, for about 150 years. And it’s gonna be a beauty.”

ABC affiliate Nexstar then said it would not broadcast Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the “foreseeable future” on its stations, adding that it “strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

Hours before ABC pulled Kimmel off the air, Brendan Carr, the head of the Federal Communications Commission, criticized Kimmel’s “MAGA” comments.

“This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney. We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said on Benny Johnson’s show. “Disney needs to see some change here, but the individual licensed stations that are taking their content, it’s time for them to step up and say this, you know, garbage to the extent that that’s what comes down the pipe in the future isn’t something that we think serves the needs of our local communities. … There’s calls for Kimmel to be fired. I think you could certainly see a path forward for suspension over this.”

The FCC threat was the final straw for Disney, according to CNN.

Is Jimmy Kimmel Coming Back on the Air?

In a statement released by ABC on September 22, 2025, Kimmel is expected to return on September 23, 2025.

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” an ABC spokesperson said. “It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

Since Disney’s ABC said Kimmel has been “pre-empted indefinitely,” there was a chance he could return, but it’s unclear when. A source familiar with the situation told CNN, “Everyone deeply values him and wants him to come back. But he has to take down the temperature [with his Trump-related commentary].”

CNN further reported that Disney’s decision to pull Kimmel’s show was not a “rash” decision. The problem “had been brewing” the week of September 15, 2025. Kimmel didn’t relent from commenting on the “MAGA gang,” so Disney executives told him to “[take] down the temperature” of what would have been his September 17, 2025, monologue, according to a separate insider. When he didn’t, Disney CEO Bob Iger and Disney Entertainment Co-chairman Dana Walden decided to yank the show “in hopes of protecting Kimmel and the Disney brand from accelerating the controversy,” per CNN.

Three sources close to the matter also told Variety that Kimmel’s legal reps were discussing a compromise with Disney and ABC bosses.

What Is Jimmy Kimmel’s Salary at ABC?

Kimmel earns around $15 million per year with ABC, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, died on January 12, 2023, at the age of 54 after suffering cardiac arrest. Her passing came just days after she appeared on the red carpet at the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards, where she praised Austin Butler’s award-winning portrayal of her father in Elvis.

While she will always be remembered as the daughter of the King of Rock and Roll, Lisa Marie was also a devoted mother. She welcomed four children over the course of her life: daughters Riley Keough and the late Benjamin Keough with her first husband, Danny Keough, and twin daughters Harper and Finley Lockwood with her fourth husband, Michael Lockwood.

In July 2020, Lisa’s only son Benjamin died by suicide at the age of 27, a loss she described as “shattering.” Following her own death in 2023, her daughters became the heirs to Graceland, Elvis’s iconic Memphis estate. At Lisa’s public memorial service, it was also revealed that Riley had quietly welcomed her first child with her husband, Ben Smith-Peterson, making Lisa Marie a grandmother shortly before her passing.

Read on to learn more about Lisa Marie Presley’s children.

Riley Keough, born May 29, 1989, is Lisa Marie’s first child with Danny. She grew up in the spotlight but has built an impressive career of her own in both modeling and acting. Riley made her runway debut in 2004 for Dolce & Gabbana and transitioned to acting in 2010 with The Runaways, starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. She went on to earn acclaim for roles in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), American Honey (2016), and Logan Lucky (2017), and she also appeared in a 2018 episode of Riverdale.

In 2022, Riley expanded her career behind the camera, making her directorial debut with War Pony at the Cannes Film Festival, where the film won the Camera d’Or. “I’m very overwhelmed. I haven’t really taken it all in yet,” Riley told PEOPLE at the time.

Riley has often spoken about growing up between two very different worlds with her parents. “I grew up very privileged with my mother. But my dad didn’t live like that,” she told The Guardian in 2017, recalling time spent in cabins and trailer parks with her father. She said the contrast gave her balance: “My memories of growing up with him were so colorful and eccentric and fun.”

Back in 2007, Riley and her mother appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and explained that Riley was encouraged to explore her own likes and dislikes in an effort to be her own person outside of the famous family. “I didn’t want her to have that shadow where she felt competition and intimidated by anything,” Lisa Marie said. “I wanted [my children] to be able to do what they wanted to do.”

After her brother Benjamin’s tragic death in 2020, Riley trained as a death doula, saying in a 2021 Instagram post that she wanted to help others prepare for and process loss. “I think it’s so important to be educated on conscious dying and death the way we educate ourselves on birth and conscious birthing,” she wrote. “We prepare ourselves so rigorously for the entrance and have no preparation for our exit. So I’m so grateful for this community and to be able to contribute what I can.”

In her personal life, Riley married Australian stuntman Ben Smith-Petersen in 2015. “My husband is such a good person,” wrote Riley in a 2022 essay for Vogue Australia. “He’s calm and loyal and strong and sensitive. He’s my best friend.” Together, they quietly welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2022, a fact revealed during Lisa Marie’s memorial service when Ben read Riley’s tribute, which included a heartfelt note to her late mother. “I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters.”

Benjamin Keough

Benjamin Storm Presley Keough, born October 21, 1992, was Lisa Marie’s only son and the grandson of Elvis Presley. Throughout his life, he was often compared to his legendary grandfather for his striking resemblance. “Ben does look so much like Elvis,” Lisa told CMT in 2012. “He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage. Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny.”

Unlike his sister Riley, Benjamin preferred to live out of the spotlight and kept a very low profile. He occasionally pursued music but struggled with the immense pressure of being part of the Presley family. Following his death by suicide in July 2020 at age 27, close friend Brandon Howard spoke to PEOPLE about Benjamin’s private life, explaining that he sometimes struggled with depression, especially during the isolation of the pandemic. “It’s almost like you’re pressured into having to be a musician, having to be an actor… It was good for him to go around the world and discover himself and have his own friends,” his friend shared.

Friends remembered Benjamin as loyal and deeply caring. “He would be the one who would come crash with you on the couch for weeks until you’re actually feeling better,” Brandon added.

Benjamin’s death left his family devastated. Riley has continued to post emotional tributes to her brother, and Lisa Marie herself opened up about her grief in a 2022 essay for National Grief Awareness Day. “I keep going for my girls,” she wrote of her three daughters at the time. “I keep going because my son made it very clear in his final moments that taking care of his little sisters and looking out for them were on the forefront of his concerns and his mind. He absolutely adored them and they him.”

Harper And Finley Lockwood

Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood were born on October 7, 2008, to Lisa Marie and her then-husband Michael. The twins have largely been kept out of the public eye, though they made their red carpet debut in 2017 at the ELLE Women in Hollywood event alongside their mom.

Lisa Marie and Priscilla Presley occasionally shared sweet glimpses of the girls growing up. In 2019, Priscilla told Us Weekly she was amazed by their intelligence, saying, “I can’t believe they are so smart [with technology]… They know how to Google already, they know how to draw things and characters… They’re just little girls experiencing life and having fun.” That same year, Priscilla revealed on TODAY that the twins were active kids who took ballet and opera classes.

After Lisa Marie’s death in January 2023, custody of Harper and Finley was awarded to their father. “The most important thing to me at this time is to take care of my daughters, making sure they always feel safe and loved,” Michael Lockwood said in a statement a week after Lisa’s death. “Both of them have incredible spirit and they will carry our family’s legacy on for the rest of their lives. Since they were born, Harper and Finley have brought me profound joy and I remain devoted to them.

In April 2023, a judge granted Michael full guardianship, which also gave him a role in representing the twins’ interests as part of ongoing matters related to their mother’s estate and Graceland.
