Taylor Swift’s letter to Liam Payne set to sell for thousands at auction

Taylor Swift’s heartfelt letter to the late Liam Payne is expected to sell for thousands at auction.

Taylor Swift’s letter to Liam Payne is going up for auction

The 35-year-old pop star expressed her support for the singer, who passed away aged 31 last year after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina, in a note that could fetch up to $13,000 when Omega Auctions begin accepting bids next month.

Taylor wrote the note in December 2017 – shortly before performing at the Jingle Bell Ball in London – where she praised Liam’s solo single Bedroom Floor.

The Fate of Ophelia singer – who once dated Liam’s former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles – penned: “Liam, long time no see! I’m so excited for you. You’re crushing it out there. I’m obsessed with Bedroom Floor.

“It’s so cool to see you from afar, I’m always cheering you on. Good luck tonight!”

The letter was enclosed in an envelope with “Liam” written on it, decorated with small stars and sealed with a wax “T”, while “Nashville, Tennessee” was printed on the back.

Payne is believed to have given the letter to a close friend after receiving it.

Collectors see the note as historically significant and emotional meaningful due to Taylor’s encouraging message.

Last month marked the first anniversary of Liam’s tragic passing and his sister Ruth Gibbins admitted that she has been “paralysed” by grief ever since.

Part of her tribute, which she shared on Instagram, read: “I underestimated grief, woah, did I underestimate it. I am paralysed by it daily.

“I thought I had felt it before but I know the losses before you were just intense sadness, you are the loss of my life, the one person who l will miss at every single occasion in my life. I’d taken for granted that my little brother would be there through life.

“You shouldn’t have died.”

Following Liam’s death, Ruth has been suffering from a recurring nightmare where she is in the One Direction star’s hotel room, but he cannot hear her “screaming” for him.

She added: “My brain is locked on your last minutes on this earth, the unaccounted minutes, the minutes I will never have the answers to, the minutes that changed everything.”

Oasis end Australian reunion tour as Liam Gallagher tells fans: “See you again”

The Australian leg of Oasis’ huge ‘Live ‘25’ tour came to an end on Saturday (November 8) in Sydney.

Over 320,000 fans saw the Britpop icons on their stops in the country as part of their reunion tour. They played three nights at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 31 and November 1 and 4 before two nights at Sydney’s Accord Stadium on November 7 and 8, supported by Brisbane indie rockers Ball Park Music on all dates.

“Thanks for putting up with us. We know we were dickheads sometimes,” Liam Gallagher told the audience in Sydney (via Billboard). “Your support has put us back on the map. Respect! You’ve got a lovely fucking country. See you again.”

While no shows for 2026 have been announced yet, Liam has previously teased the potential for more gigs. On September 27, he told gig-goers at Wembley Stadium – near the end of their most recent UK show, “I wanna thank you lot for keeping the faith and putting this band back on the map. See you next year.”

Oasis have almost finished touring for the year with a few South American dates remaining. And rumours of more shows have been rife in recent months – particularly that the band could play Knebworth or the Etihad Stadium next year, with the 30th anniversaries of their huge Knebworth and Maine Road falling in 2026.

Remarkably, a British peer in the House of Lords seemed to accidentally reveal that Oasis would play Knebworth next summer last month before backtracking. On October 22, Lady Taylor of Stevenage stood up and claimed that the band would play five back-to-back anniversary gigs at Knebworth House next year.

She then told The Guardian, “I was speaking hypothetically following speculation that they would play Knebworth again as they did in August 1996. I understand the band have not confirmed this.”

The Australia tour, meanwhile, became one of the highest-attended in Australia this year, and sensors at the Seismology Research Centre in Melbourne reportedly even picked up tremors during the shows (per 7NEWS Melbourne).

James Young, the owner of Cherry Bar, one of Melbourne’s most iconic music venues – which Noel Gallagher reportedly wanted to buy himself in 2002 (per The Age) – praised the band on social media too, calling the week of Oasis’ Melbourne dates the bar’s “biggest weekend and biggest week on record.”

He said: “The darkest hour is before the dawn, Melbourne and Cherry Bar needed a hero and who knew that it would come in the shape of a couple of ‘no f#cks given’ Mancunian larrikins?!”

A moment at the first Melbourne show, however, caused controversy with a fan launching a flare into the crowd. Liam later took to X (Twitter) to call the fan in question a “massive c**t”, adding: “You are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me.”

Oasis are off to South America later this week, with two shows at Estadio Mâs Monumental in Buenos Aires, Argentina on November 15 and 16. They’re then playing Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago, Chile, on November 19, before two gigs at MorumBIS in São Paulo on November 22 and 23 to round off the year.

Bonehead will be rejoining them after the guitarist, real name Paul Arthurs, took a break from the tour to continue his cancer treatment. He was given the all-clear from tonsil cancer back in 2022, but shared at the start of October that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year, and would sit out of Oasis’ Asia and Australia shows so he could have “the next phase of care”.

During those shows, the band performed with an honorary cut-out of Bonehead. In his absence, Mike Moore from Liam’s solo band filled in.

Liam Gallagher Blasts Fan Who Set off Flares at Oasis Concert

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Liam Gallagher lambasted a fan who launched flares during Oasis’ Melbourne, Australia show at Marvel Stadium on Friday, calling the person a “seriously fucked up individual” in a social media post about the incident.

“To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me,” Gallagher posted on social platform X following their performance.

The flares were launched during the band’s “Champagne Supernova” finale at the first date of their Australian run of their tour. (They perform tonight, Nov. 1, and Nov. 4 at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, before heading to Sydney to play Accor Stadium on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8.)

— Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) October 31, 2025

In video footage filmed during the sold-out show, a flare can be seen going up in the air, appearing to be launched from within the crowd, and then it landed into the crowd who were in the floor section. Flames ignited in the area shortly after. Then, another flare can be seen going up and landing in the crowd nearby.

According to one concertgoer, there were two flares they witnessed going off. The attendee identified as Virginia, told Australian outlet news.com.au, that she saw one flash, and then shortly after another one was set off.

“Each time you saw this flash, it looked like a fire, and then it was contained fairly quickly,” Virginia, who attended the band’s debut Australian concert with her family, told the outlet.

She added: “I was there with my 13-year-old daughter, so once that went off, I thought it was bad and thought we’ll just leave before the end of the song and try and get outside.”

Trending Stories

It’s unclear how the flares were brought into the stadium. Virginia confirmed to news.com.au that security checked bags and that concertgoers were scanned before entering the venue.

According to 9 News in Australia, police in Victoria — the state in which Melbourne is located — said the incident was not reported and that there were no arrests. Marvel Stadium told 9 News that no one was harmed. “We’ll leave the on record comments to Liam Gallagher’s post,” the venue added.

Oasis’ Liam Gallagher Calls Out “Seriously F**ked Up Person” For Launching Flare

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

In a rare moment of the language meeting the situation, Liam Gallagher has lambasted the “seriously fucked up person” who launched a flare during Oasis’ sold-out October 31st concert in Melbourne, Australia.

The incident happened Friday night local time as part of Oasis’ three-show stay at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium. According to reports, at least one flare was launched into the stadium as the band wrapped up the evening with “Champagne Supernova.”

In an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, concertgoer Brad Bultman said that he and others had originally believed the flare to be part of some grand finale pyrotechnics display.

“Then very quickly I saw it explode and expand a bit further, and then somebody actually pick up the live flair [sic] and toss it back in the air and created more fire and smoke in a different area,” Bultman said. “I was like, ‘Oh geez’ — you hope nobody gets hurt.”

Bultman went on to say that Gallagher’s initial reaction was to tell the crowd “naughty, naughty, naughty.” However, upon taking to X/Twitter after the show, Gallagher offered up a string of four letter words to the feckless fan.

“To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me,” wrote Gallagher.

Also speaking to ABC, the venue’s security team said they’d already instituted bag searches and wanding for the event. However, they noted that there would be an increased security presence ahead of the shows on Saturday (November 1st) and Tuesday (November 4th). Following the Melbourne dates, the band are due at Sydney’s Accor Stadum next week.

This incident aside, Oasis’ reunion tour has gone swimmingly enough. Our own Jonah Krueger saw the band’s August concert from Chicago’s Soldier Field (their first U.S show of the North American tour), saying that “Oasis’ current iteration more than delivers.” He added, “If anything is surprising, it’s how remarkably smooth the Oasis machine is running, especially for being out of use for a decade-and-a-half.”

As we previously reported, Oasis only have a handful of tour dates planned for the remainder of 2025. However, according to Gallagher, there’s a lot more in store for 2026.

Louis Tomlinson says he will “forever despise” Logan Paul over controversial Liam Payne interview

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Louis Tomlinson has said that he will “forever despise” Logan Paul over his divisive interview with Liam Payne.

  • READ MORE: Liam Payne 1993-2024: One Direction star who helped spark a pop phenomenon

Payne appeared on YouTuber Paul’s Impaulsive series in June 2022 and made headlines for a slew of controversial comments about his time in One Direction, including claiming that one of his bandmates had thrown him “up a wall” during an argument.

He also said that there were “many reasons why I dislike Zayn [Malik]”, and that Simon Cowell formed the group around him as the lead member. His comments were met with criticism, with Payne accused of being “arrogant”.

A year after appearing on the podcast, Payne apologised for his words, saying it was “hard for me to watch back” and that he hadn’t realised how much “impact” his words would have. He also revealed that he had spent 100 days in rehab after the interview.

Payne passed away in October 2024 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Following his death, the interview recirculated, with fans looking at his words in a new light, considering his struggles with his mental health.

Now, his former bandmate Tomlinson has addressed the podcast. Speaking in a new interview with the Independent, he said: “I fucking forever despise [Logan Paul], horrible, horrible little fucker.”

He added, “I think that’s also the problem with some of this new ‘media’… I would like to think most journalists,” before correcting himself and saying, “some journalists have a duty of care.”

Tomlinson went on to clarify Payne’s claim that he was the lead member of the group, saying it was true. “It was, definitely,” he says. “It was definitely a role that was assigned to him. That is the truth.”

Addressing the podcast in 2023, Payne said that his words had come from “self-protection”, but that “the rest of the boys really stuck by me when I needed them most, they kinda came to the rescue”.

“Even Zayn, as well,” he added, “which is why I did send him a little thank you online. It came across really big-headed didn’t it?”

He added at the time: “I think, for me, a lot of what I said just came from the wrong place. I was so angry at what was going on around me. Instead of taking a look inwards, I decided to look outwards at everybody else.

“I just took it out on everybody else, which is just wrong, really, and my own frustrations with my own career and where I landed – I took shots at everybody else and that was wrong so I just wanna apologise for that in the first instance.”

Payne’s former bandmates – Tomlinson, Malik, Harry Styles and Niall Horan – all paid tribute to Payne in a statement following his death, while each band member also took to their social media accounts to pay their respects.

Tomlinson has recently addressed Payne’s death and said it was “impossibly difficult for him to deal with”.

Elsewhere, Tomlinson and Malik recently announced that they are set to reunite for a new Netflix documentary series.

The former also recently announced his third studio album ‘How Did I Get Here?’, which will be released on January 23 and you can pre-order here along with a 2026 arena tour which will see him play around the UK and Europe next year. You can see all the dates here, while tickets go on general sale on Friday (October 10) here.

First Trailer for ‘Palestine 36’ Feat. Jeremy Irons & Liam Cunningham

“We are asking for your help in protecting our villages.” Screen International has revealed the first official trailer for an acclaimed new film titled Palestine 36, made by Palestinian filmmaker Annemarie Jacir as her fourth feature film so far. This recently premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival last month, and it next plays at AFI Fest and the Denver Film Festival. It’s also Palestine’s submission to the Oscars this year. The film is set during the years 1936 – 1939 and follows a man navigating between Jerusalem and his rural home amid escalating unrest with the British Empire rulers at the time. This is just before the Holocaust and the British Mandate in 1947 & 1948 that would lead to the creation of the State of Israel after 1945. Back in 1936, as Palestinian villages revolt against British colonial rule, Yusuf navigates between Jerusalem and his rural home, amidst escalating unrest and a pivotal moment for the British Empire. The fascinating film stars Hiam Abbass, Saleh Bakri, Robert Aramayo, Billy Howle, Liam Cunningham, Yasmine Al-Massri, Dafer L’Abidine, Yumna Marwan, Karim Daoud Anaya, and Jeremy Irons. This looks like a riveting story digging into the past and shedding light on the truth on the great awfulness of imperialism.

Here’s the first official trailer for Annemarie Jacir’s film Palestine 36, direct from Screen’s YouTube:

Palestine 36 Poster

Intro from TIFF: “Rare archival footage sets the stage, providing a potent counterpoint to the dramatic action: Jerusalem’s bustling mix of peoples in the wake of the Ottoman Empire’s dissolution, migration of European Jews fleeing the Nazis, and British attempts to impose colonial rule. In the midst of this, Yusuf (Karim Daoud Anaya) shunts between his traditional village & the rapidly changing city. Afra (Wardi Eilabouni) tries to navigate change with the aid of her grandmother (Hiam Abbass). A dissatisfied port worker (Saleh Bakri) finds the pressures of earning a living and supporting his family drawing him into a rebel movement. Can British officialdom, represented powerfully by Irons, even keep up?” Palestine 36, also known as فلسطين ٣٦ in Arabic, is written and directed by the Palestinian filmmaker Annemarie Jacir, director of the films Salt of This Sea, When I Saw You, Wajib, and episodes of the series “Ramy” previously. It’s produced by Ossama Bawardi, Cat Villiers, Azzam Fakhreddin, Hani Farsi, Nils Åstrand, Olivier Barbier, Nathanaël Karmitz, Katrin Pors, Hamza Ali. This initially premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival this fall. It will continue to play at more festivals – no US release date is set yet. Stay tuned for more. Intrigued?

Kate Cassidy ‘didn’t want to live’ after Liam Payne’s death

by jummy84 October 11, 2025

11 October 2025

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy “didn’t want to live” following his death.

Kate Cassidy fell into a deep depression after her boyfriend Liam Payne’s death last year

The former One Direction singer tragically died at the age of 31 in October 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina and the influencer has revealed that she fell into a deep depression in the aftermath.

Kate told Page Six at a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) benefit: “I was always just kind of doing nothing and just dealing with that grief and pain, just not wanting to really live my life.”

She explained that it took her several weeks to realise that she needed to restore a sense of structure to her life again.

Cassidy said: “I finally realised, ok, I need to live my life, I need to get up, get out of bed.”

The 26-year-old influencer recalled how she started by setting an alarm to get out of bed one hour earlier each day and began “working out” and “eating clean” and continues to do so for the sake of her mental health.

She said: “I like to always be up early, have a workout class planned, go for a nice walk, eat cleaner. I feel like, for me, being active, always keeps my mind so much cleaner and healthier.”

Kate paid a touching tribute to Liam ahead of the first anniversary of his passing next week as she described him as “the best person I ever met”.

The influencer said: “He lit up any room. He was just so sweet, so funny. I’ve never met anybody like him, and I’m sure I probably won’t ever meet anybody like him in my life.

“In a way, I am actually glad that he’s just going to be that one person. He was the best person I ever met.”

Meanwhile, Liam’s One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson described his death as “unjust and frustrating” earlier this week and confessed that the What Makes You Beautiful band’s upcoming 15th anniversary felt “uncomfortable” in the wake of the tragedy.

Speaking to Rolling Stone UK magazine, Louis said: “It was really uncomfortable, actually, the 15th anniversary, because the [collective] feeling to celebrate is as important, if not more important than ever, on behalf of Liam.”

Louis – who was put together in 1D with Liam, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik on The X Factor UK – admitted marking the band’s formation in the past made him feel “sick of nostalgia”, but doing so earlier this year “brought up those feelings” he’s been dealing with since his friend’s death.

He added: “You know, there’s still a level in my head [where it feels] unjust and frustrating that he’s not with us anymore.

“So, it just brought up those feelings, although I’m still living with them anyway.”

The Witcher Season 4 cast: Liam Hemsworth joins returning stars Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan

The Continent is on the brink of a greater war as Netflix’s The Witcher returns for season 4 on October 30, 2025. Following the shocking conclusion of the last season, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri are now separated from each other, having been forced on dangerous journeys through a broken world. The season will introduce Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia after Henry Cavill left the series. Hemsworth’s arrival has already divided many fans, but showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said the new direction will invigorate the ongoing saga, according to Netflix’s Tudum.

Liam Hemsworth will take the mantle from Henry Cavill who played Geralt of Rivia(X/Netflix)

A continent at war

Season 4 adapts Andrzej Sapkowski’s Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake. Each character faces their own battles: Geralt leads a ragtag fellowship known as the ‘hansa’, Yennefer rallies rival mages to confront a looming threat, and Ciri hides among the outlaw group called the Rats.

Fans can expect brutal on-screen combat, Geralt clashing with a terrifying wrath, and poignant reunion scenes as the characters fight for survival.

Liam Hemsworth takes the mantle

Liam Hemsworth, most famous for The Hunger Games, goes for a more action-driven take on Geralt. He has undergone sword and sign training to truly capture what it is to be the White Wolf. Hissrich stated that Hemsworth wanted to put more humor into the role, to even out Geralt’s brooding side with moments of lightheartedness.

Returning stars and fan favorites

Anya Chalotra returns as Yennefer, now stepping into leadership and uniting a divided mage community.

Freya Allan plays Ciri, hardened and rebellious, hiding under the alias of “Falka” with the Rats.

Joey Batey returns as Jaskier, Geralt’s steadfast bard companion, bringing humor and heart amidst the dangers.

Other well-known faces include Mahesh Jadu (Vilgefortz), Eamon Farren (Cahir), Anna Shaffer (Triss Merigold), Graham McTavish (Dijkstra), and Mimî M. Khayisa (Fringilla).

Powerful new additions

Season 4 introduces mighty new players. Laurence Fishburne is Regis, a higher vampire of great wisdom and many secrets, who faces Geralt himself. Sharlto Copley is Leo Bonhart, a mercenary without conscience patrolling after the Rats and Ciri.

James Purefoy appears as Stefan Skellen, Nilfgaard’s ruthless spymaster. With these additions, the stakes for Geralt’s hansa and Ciri’s future have never been higher.

What awaits in Season 4

According to Tudum, Hissrich teased that no soul remains untouched by the war. Loyalties will change, alliances will be broken, and enemies will be born in code places. “It’s about family, but it’s also about the armies and friends that we choose,” she said.
