De De Pyaar De 2 Review

The movie begins with a recap of the prequel, and it continues with Raunak (Jaaved Jaaferi) continuing the story narrative. The scene shifts to Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) and Ashish (Ajay Devgn) planning a trip to Chandigarh, India, to meet her parents. Ayesha suggests that her sister in law, Kittu (Ishita Dutta), will be delivering soon and that this is the perfect moment to talk to the family. Ayesha arrives at her house and is warmly greeted by her parents, Anju (Gautami Kapoor) and Rakesh (R Madhavan), who are excited to be grandparents soon. During breakfast, Kittu blurts out why Ayesha has come to India, and her parents are in shock.

After a brief interrogation, Rakesh and Anju meet Ashish after he arrives at their house. But like every other Indian parent, they are concerned about their daughter’s future with someone who is as old as they are. After Kittu’s delivery, the couple host a party where they invite Adi (Meezan Jaferi), who is their close family friend. This leaves everyone to find out what new chaos this young handsome man will bring to this age-gap love story. Will Ayesha cheat on Ashish and settle with Adi? To know what happens next, read our review of De De Pyaar De 2.

What Works

Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s duo as hone wala damaad and sasur ji is definitely fun to watch. Jaaved Jaaferi remains a loyal friend as always, and Meezan Jafri plays a decent chocolate boy. It is fun to watch Jaaved and Meezan cracking jokes about being real-life father and son. Ishita Dutta plays a fun-loving role.

What Doesn’t Work

Some scenes, especially when Rakul Preet loses her temper, are exaggerated and so is her mother, played by Gautami Kapoor. There are scenes in the second half that are dragged; there are some dialogues that are repetitive and not enjoyable at all. The plot was very much predictable and doesn’t promise much new variants.

Technical Analysis

Direction

As the director, Anshul Sharma has executed some scenes very well. His attempts to recapture the humour and familial dynamics of the prequel fall short in maintaining a tight narrative. The director’s effort to balance comedy with emotional moments is evident but not consistently effective.

Writing & Screenplay

The screenplay relies heavily on familiar tropes, resulting in a predictable plot. Dialogue repetition and exaggerated scenes, particularly when characters lose their temper, hinder the film’s flow. The story lacks freshness, and the plot developments feel forced rather than organic, diminishing overall impact. However, some scenes with Jaaved, Ajay and R Madhavan are genuinely funny. Some jokes and one liners on any actors’ other projects or characters are entertaining.

Star Performances

Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan exhibit a natural and engaging chemistry that effectively captures the humorous and familial elements of their characters. Madhavan’s character as the protective and slightly sceptical father-in-law adds a layer of humour through his expressions and dialogues, creating a fun dynamic that keeps the audience entertained. Their interactions often generate genuine laughter and moments of affection, serving as the film’s emotional core.

Jaaved Jaaferi’s role as Raunak, the loyal friend, provides consistent comic relief throughout the film. His witty one-liners and humorous exchanges, especially when joking about the age difference or family situations, add a lighthearted touch that balances the more dramatic moments.

Meezan Jafri’s portrayal of Adi, the young, handsome family friend, is decent and charismatic enough to hold his own in the comedy and romantic sequences. His charm and ease on screen make his character likeable, and he effectively fits into the film’s light-hearted tone.

However, the performances of Rakul Preet Singh and Gautami Kapoor sometimes lean towards exaggeration, which affects the overall authenticity of their characters. Rakul Preet’s portrayal of Ayesha’s emotional outbursts occasionally feels overdone, detracting from her character’s relatability. Similarly, Gautami Kapoor’s depiction of Ayesha’s mother, although lively, sometimes crosses into melodramatic territory, making her character less convincing.

Conclusion

To conclude, the review of De De Pyaar De 2 offers a lighthearted take on the age-gap love story, bolstered by the natural chemistry and comedic timing of Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, whose performances bring warmth and humour to the narrative. Jaaved Jaaferi’s consistent comic relief and Meezan Jafri’s charming portrayal of Adi add to the film’s entertainment value, providing moments of genuine laughter and fun. However, the film is hindered by a predictable and clichéd storyline, with exaggerated performances from Rakul Preet Singh and Gautami Kapoor that sometimes undermine its authenticity.

Direction-wise, while some scenes are well-executed, the overall narrative struggles with pacing and coherence, especially in the second half. Ultimately, the film delivers a few enjoyable moments but falls short of offering a fresh, compelling experience, making it an average watch for those seeking familiar family comedy with some laughs.

We hope our review of De De Pyaar De 2 will help you decide to watch it.

‘No Other Land’ Rejected a Distribution Deal From MUBI

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

The filmmakers behind the Oscar-winning Palestinian documentary “No Other Land” spent their many months on the awards circuit calling out American distributors for being unwilling to offer the film a U.S. theatrical distribution deal, telling IndieWire last November that “distributors are afraid to engage with the topic of Israel and Palestine.”

Since being released theatrically independently and winning the Oscar, the film is now finally being made available on streaming. The filmmakers have chosen to again release the movie independently, making it available for on-demand digital purchase and rental via Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, and YouTube, as they announced on Instagram earlier today. But, as it turns out, “No Other Land” did have interest from a major U.S. distributor to release the film via SVOD streaming, but the filmmakers “rejected” the offer.

Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst star in Paramount Pictures' "ROOFMAN."

That distributor was MUBI, and in a press release, co-directors Basel Adra and Yuval Abraham said they ultimately turned down the deal over the long-running controversy concerning MUBI’s $100 million investment from Sequoia Capital.

“This film shows the reality of Israeli occupation and oppression against Palestinians — but that truth apparently didn’t fit the narrative that big U.S. streamers wanted to promote. We talked to MUBI for months, and initially thought our film had found its home, but in the end we learned that they were accepting a huge investment from Sequoia Capital,” Adra said in a statement.

“In addition to being unethical, it made no sense to us that they would take our film showing Israel’s oppression of Palestinians, and then also partner with a company contributing to that oppression,” Abraham added.

MUBI declined to comment when reached by IndieWire.

MUBI secured a $100 million investment from Sequoia Capital in May 2024, at which point backlash slowly grew over the fact that, in addition to MUBI (and numerous other tech companies and investments), Sequoia had also invested in Israeli military tech start-up Kela. The start-up was founded by Israeli intelligence veterans in 2024 following the October 7 terrorist attacks, as well as two other Israeli defense companies.

Since that investment became public, filmmakers and even employees internally have called on MUBI to return the investment and accused the art house streamer and distributor of being complicit with genocide in Palestine.

In August, CEO Efe Cakarel put out a lengthy statement stressing that Sequoia is merely a minority investor without oversight over programming, editorial, or financial decisions; that Cakarel remains the majority shareholder in MUBI; and that any assertion that MUBI’s profits would go to fund other companies in Sequoia’s portfolio were untrue. It also clarified that Sequoia partner Shaun Maguire, who came under fire for Islamaphobic social media posts, had no involvement with MUBI operationally or strategically. The company also put in place an “Ethical Funding and Investment Policy” about establishing criteria for future investments.

But the perception and backlash has persisted. Last month, a Los Angeles film festival dropped MUBI as a presenting sponsor over the controversy, and the “No Other Land” news is the latest example.

Though technically released without the aid of a formal distributor, “No Other Land” had a lengthy theatrical run, thanks to aid from other independent exhibition partners, and the movie has since made $3.6 million worldwide at the box office, making it one of the higher-grossing documentaries of the year.

Adra wrote a guest column for IndieWire back in February about the crisis still taking place in Masafer Yatta. A co-director on the film, Hamdan Ballal, was attacked and arrested back in March. In September, Adra revealed that his home in the West Bank was raided by the IDF. And two months ago, a collaborator on “No Other Land,” Awdah Hathaleen, was killed in the conflict.

Lokah OTT release: Kalyani Priyadarshan’s ₹300-crore Malayalam blockbuster to land soon on this platform

Lokah OTT release: The latest Malayalam blockbuster, Lokah has crossed ₹300 crore at the box office. Film’s lead star Kalyani Priyadarshan took to social media to make the announcement on Tuesday morning, which was followed by yet another reveal: the OTT release plan.

Lokah on OTT: Kalyani Priyadarshani plays the lead in the movie.

Streaming app JioHotstar shared on social media that Lokah will be out on the platform soon. However, they did not reveal the release date. “The beginning of a new universe. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra — coming soon on JioHotstar,” they shared with a poster of the movie.

Fans were excited to watch the film online. A person thanked producer Dulquer Salman for it. “Yesss finally …..thankyou @dqsalmaan @dqswayfarerfilms for this lovely gift,” they wrote. “Tell the date tell the date man,” said another. “Bro please put it in Hindi Language also,” requested a fan.

About Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra

Made under the banner of Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ has been written and directed by Dominic Arun.

Actress Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the role of a superhero in the film. Naslen, Chandu Salimkumar, Arun Kurian and Sandy also play prominent roles in the movie.

‘Lokah Chapter 1’ was released in theatres on August 28, 2025. The film has garnered praise from critics and viewers after its release.

Sequel announced

Recently, Dulquer teased a sequel to the movie. In September, gave fans the first glimpse of ‘Lokah Chapter 2’ by sharing a video titled ‘When Legends Chill: Michaek x Charlie’. The movie is expected to centre around Tovino Thomas’s character, Chaatan, in the film.

The film’s teaser features a playful conversation between Tovino and Dulquer Salmaan, who was previously introduced as Odiyan in a social media post.

At one point, Tovino jokes with Dulquer, asking, “Why don’t you call me once in a while — in 50 years or even 100 years?” The banter continues as Tovino mentions that his brother is out now, unlike him, and could be violent.

He then asks Dulquer if he would come to help if called upon, to which Dulquer promptly says no. The light-hearted exchange ends with a brief glimpse of the much-anticipated second part of the ‘Lokah’ universe.

The sequel will be directed by Domic Arjun and will star Tovino Thomas in the lead role. Taking to his X handle, Wayfarer Films wrote, “Beyond myths. Beyond legends. A new chapter begins. #LokahChapter2 Starring Tovino Thomas. Written & Directed by Dominic Arun. Produced by Wayfarer Films.”

bitchy | Prince William & Kate need 150 acres of land around Forest Lodge for ‘security’

by jummy84 October 1, 2025
written by jummy84

On Monday, Prince William put on a big-boy suit and returned to big-boy statesman work! We know it was super-important because William’s office posted a breezy, wordless video about William’s meeting with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah. The two heirs met at Windsor Castle. So I would assume that William probably returned from Scotland over the weekend. William wasn’t seen at church at Balmoral on Sunday, so his hunting trip had probably already ended. As for the meeting between the heirs… guess which one is older? Sheikh Sabah is actually 72 years old, only four years younger than King Charles. He honestly looks pretty good for his age, but that’s probably because of the side-by-side comparison with William, who has never touched a drop of moisturizer in his life.

Welcoming The Crown Prince of Kuwait His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah to Windsor today 🇰🇼🇬🇧 pic.twitter.com/Y1LLmZ1U8T

— The Prince and Princess of Wales (@KensingtonRoyal) September 29, 2025

They can post all of the wordless behind-the-scenes videos they want, it still doesn’t make Willy a statesman. It’s actually pretty sad, because William comes across as such a lightweight who can’t even be trusted in these kinds of meetings with friendly Arab royals. God knows what kinds of gaffes he made which will never be spoken about.

Anyway, I guess we can expect more of this kind of “work” – a meeting in Windsor Castle, a ten-second social media video, and they call it a day’s work. This will be William’s work life when he moves fulltime into his fifth forever home, Forest Lodge. As we learned, royal security apparently demands that a sizable chunk of Windsor Great Park is now off-limits to peasants because of the Waleses’ move to Forest Lodge. Those peasants paid an annual fee to be able to enter through the park’s gates to walk their dogs. So just how extensive is Will & Kate’s land grab? 150 acres is now Will and Kate’s “ring of steel” around Forest Lodge. What a huge f–king waste of money.

Work is underway on William and Kate’s new ‘ring of steel’ as they set about fencing off a 150-acre no-go zone around their forever home. The Prince and Princess of Wales have imposed a 2.3-mile personal exclusion area around Forest Lodge, a Georgian mansion in Windsor Great Park.

It is understood those who venture past the ‘no trespassing’ signs – intended to keep William, Kate and their three children safe – will face immediate arrest.

New images show the beginning of preparations aimed at keeping members of the public out of the area as cars and lorries arrive to erect a wooden fence. State-of-the art equipment is visible assisting workmen who hammer in the new measures. Meanwhile, pick-up trucks have also arrived on site transporting the necessary materials to ensure full protection.

Home Office plans mean the estate will be getting the latest CCTV equipment. In addition, the area around Forest Lodge is set to become a designated property under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA) 2005.

Security minister Dan Jarvis’s order, which came into force on Sunday, gives officers the power to arrest trespassers and is intended to act ‘as a deterrent for incursions’.

But the new plans have not gone down well with some locals, many of whom will see substantial changes to their access arrangements. A car park has been permanently closed, while there will no longer be access to Windsor Great Park at Cranbourne Gate, which residents could use for an annual charge of £110 annually.

[From The Daily Mail]

I’m mad on the dog-walkers and pedestrians’ behalf, but I’m also astonished by the collective shrug over this insane land-grab and these costly security measures. Did it seriously not occur to William, Kate or anyone in their office that turning Forest Lodge into their own sub-Windsor Estate was going to be an incredibly costly venture for British taxpayers. Will and Kate are paying out-of-Duchy-pocket for paint and furniture – taxpayers are paying to shut down part of the park and round-the-clock security to ensure that a dog-walker doesn’t step one foot on Will and Kate’s 150-acre royal estate.

‘No Other Land’ Co-Director Basel Adra Says Home Raided by IDF

by jummy84 September 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Basel Adra, co-director of the 2025 Academy Award winner for Best Documentary Feature, “No Other Land,” has told the Associated Press that his home was raided by soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces September 13 following alleged settler violence in his West Bank village.

Giving an on-camera interview to the AP, Adra is clearly free and not currently being detained by Israeli forces as was feared by his co-director Yuval Abraham who tweeted his concern about the situation. “Happening now: Israeli army raiding the house of oscar winner Basel Adra after Israeli settlers attacked his village earlier and beat up his family member,” Abraham tweeted September 13. “Soldiers could try to abduct Basel into one of Israel’s prisons which are effectively torture sites.”

Medium shot of a man and woman riding together on a motorcycle; still from 'Saiyaara'

Adra was not abducted and remains free.

However, the concern that he might be detained by the IDF apparently influenced Adra’s decision not to return to his home yesterday. These incidents have occurred in the wake of co-director Hamdan Ballal being beaten up by Israeli settlers in the weeks after “No Other Land” won the Oscar in March. That resulted in controversy, with Abraham accusing the Academy of not publicly supporting Ballal, who indeed was not mentioned in their original statement supporting artistic freedom. The Academy ultimately apologized.

A similar situation seemed to be unfolding September 13. Adra told the AP, “Soldiers invade [his West Bank village] Al-Tuwani after settlers attacked us on agricultural land. They invaded my home here in the activist space and my home up where my wife and my nine month old daughter were alone. They were searching in the house, they took the phone of my wife. They prevented other family members like my sisters, like my father, to be with my wife in the home – they detained them in the street. Israel, I think, is trying to attack and to shut down any influencer or journalist who speaks up against the occupation. In Gaza we see they precisely killing journalists. I have many messages, one of them for the governments and world leaders to take serious actions to stop the genocide in Gaza, to stop the occupation, and to influence and implement the international law and force Israel, putting sanctions against it until they respect international law.”

Adra also claimed that his brother had been beaten up by settlers during the attack.

Experience Mitski’s Concert Film ‘The Land’ in Theaters This Fall

by jummy84 September 8, 2025

Mitski: The Land, filmed over three nights at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, screens in theaters for a limited time

Bummed you missed out on Mitski‘s last tour? You can catch it on the big screen this fall. Mitski: The Land will hit theaters for a limited time on Oct. 22.

Filmed over three nights at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre exactly one year ago (Sept. 6, 7, and 8), the shows were in support of Mitski’s last album, 2023’s The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We. The set list contained tracks from the LP — including her first-ever hit, “My Love Mine All Mine” — and highlights across her discography.

Trending Stories

Mitski has always been known for her magnetizing stage presence, featuring sharp, synchronized dance movements. The 2024 tour featured a seven-piece band, with choreography by Monica Mirabile and stage design by Andi Watson. The film was directed by Grant James, and mixed by her longtime producer, Patrick Hyland. Tickets go on sale Monday, Sept. 15.

In her 2021 Rolling Stone cover story, Mitski spoke to us about her approach to her beloved concerts. “I guess fame is relative,” she said. “There’s Taylor Swift fame and then there’s local-DIY-scene fame. The real struggle for me in getting bigger is, how do I maintain integrity in the performance? How do I make sure the audience experience is still intimate and emotional in this 8,000-cap room? How do I not resort to flashy pyrotechnics onstage? Because I don’t want my show to be about that — I want people to enter into a place with me and have an experience, and then leave having experienced something important.”

SHAHRUKH KHAN’S DAUGHTER IN TROUBLE!” – Suhana Khan Faces Probe Over Land Deal! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Suhana Khan, daughter of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and designer Gauri Khan, has found herself in the middle of a land acquisition controversy while filming her theatrical debut King. The 25-year-old actress is under investigation for a high-value land deal in Maharashtra’s Alibaug, involving property originally allotted to farmers.

Details of the Land Transaction

According to official records, Suhana purchased land in Thal village, Alibaug, through Deja Vu Farms Pvt Ltd, a company linked to Gauri Khan’s family. The deal, worth ₹12.91 crore, was completed in May 2023, with stamp duty of ₹77.46 lakh paid via Standard Chartered Bank. The land was reportedly bought from the Khote family of Mumbai’s Cuffe Parade.

The controversy arises from claims that the land was granted to farmers under the Maharashtra Agricultural Land (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961. Under this law, such agricultural plots cannot be sold to non-farmers without prior government approval, and require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the local Tehsildar or District Collector. Reports also allege that Suhana was listed as a “farmer” in official documents, raising concerns of misrepresentation.

Probe Initiated

Following these allegations, the Resident Deputy Collector has ordered an impartial inquiry. The Alibaug Tehsildar has been tasked with submitting a detailed report, and the investigation is currently underway. Meanwhile, Suhana is also reported to have acquired another seafront property in the same region worth around ₹10 crore, though it is not yet confirmed if this purchase is under scrutiny.

Professional Front

On the career side, Suhana made her OTT debut with The Archies. She is now preparing for her big-screen debut in Siddharth Anand’s King, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film is slated for release next year.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Daughter Suhana Khan In Legal Trouble Over Agricultural Land Purchased In Alibaug For Rs 12.01 Cr- Report

by jummy84 September 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan has reportedly encountered legal issues related to the purchase of agricultural land in Alibaug. According to documents, Suhana acquired two plots worth approximately Rs 22 crore in 2023 and 2024, with the transactions registered under Deja Vu Farm Private Limited, a company owned by Gauri Khan’s mother and sister-in-law.

Suhana Khan’s Agricultural Land Deals In Hot Water?

One of the plots, located in Thal village of Alibaug, was allegedly bought for Rs 12.91 crore from three sisters—Anjali, Rekha, and Priya—who inherited the land from their parents. The land was initially allocated for farming purposes by the government. Notably, Suhana paid a stamp duty of Rs 77.46 lakh at the time of purchase, and official records depict her as a farmer.

Another report by IANS suggests that the piece of land, reportedly costing Rs 12.91 crore, which was purchased by Suhana Khan, was from the Khote family based in Cuffe Parade, Mumbai. The actress paid stamp duty of Rs 77.47 lakh during registration, and the transfer happened on May 30, 2023, through Standard Chartered Bank.

It’s worth noting that in 2018, the Income Tax Department had temporarily attached Khan’s Alibaug bungalow amid suspicions that it was used as a personal farmhouse, despite being purchased as agricultural land. The property was held by Deja Vu Farms Pvt Ltd. The move was part of a broader investigation into benami transactions and possible violations of land acquisition norms.

The Alibaug authorities are currently investigating the matter. Resident Deputy Collector Sandesh Shirke has requested an impartial report from the Tehsildar.

Both Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana are yet to comment on this incident.
