‘Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City’ Star Jen Shah Gets Early Prison Release Date After Serving 33 Months

by jummy84 November 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Jen Shah is getting out of prison earlier than expected after the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum got her sentence reduced again.

The former Bravo star was sentenced to 78 months in prison after being found guilty of her involvement in a telemarketing fraud scheme that conned people (mostly elders) out of their money.

Shah’s release date had been altered numerous times since her imprisonment, and the latest date, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, was set for August 30, 2026. However, People is now reporting that the BOP has approved a December 10 departure for the former RHOSLC star.

By the time Shah is released from prison, she will have served 33 months behind bars — 45 months less than her sentence.

Before surrendering to prison in February 2023, Shah posted a statement on social media: “I am surrendering to serve a sentence in a federal prison today. It is the price I must pay for the bad decisions I made. People got hurt because of my decisions. While incarcerated, I will work to make amends and reconcile with the victims of my crime.”

Shah’s trouble with the law was chronicled on Bravo’s RHOSLC as cameras captured the moment the reality star was notified that authorities were looking for her. Law enforcement arrived at the filming location, but Shah left the scene and later that day surrendered to authorities. Shah was arrested and indicted on wire fraud and money laundering charges in connection with a telemarketing scheme in which she found herself involved.

Riley & Zach Harris Face First Perilous Lake Crossing Without Their Dad

by jummy84 October 23, 2025
written by jummy84

[Warning: The below contains spoilers for Ice Road Truckers Season 12]

The October 22 episode of Ice Road Truckers featured a huge moment for Zach and Riley Harris as they went on their first solo run without their father Shaun. How would they cope on the perilous lake crossing? Read on to find out.

The History Channel show’s latest installment started with Todd Dewey, who had survived the Asheweig Road, and was set for a 600-mile journey back to Muskie Creek with a 45,000-pound rock screener. He felt every bump along the way and was concerned about making it through the ice crossing. Todd investigated the ice in the area, but the snow made it hard to get a good reading. With max or even a few pounds over to haul on the dangerous stretch, he essentially flew blind and hoped for the best.

He kept the door half open to see if he could hear the cracking of the ice. Todd made it through the rough patch, but there was more to go before he could breathe a sigh of relief. The trucker passed by the hill where he broke an axle eight years ago. Would history repeat itself? Todd started to roll backward. He was stranded, having to figure out a way to get going again. “Not again. Come on,” he said. There came a point where Todd had to break the rules a bit in the area and broke out the chains. It was his only way to make up the hill. Once he reached a safe spot took the chains off. Todd made it back to headquarters with a sense of accomplishment. He officially conquered his “redemption road.”

Lisa Kelly (History Channel)

Meanwhile, Lisa Kelly was on her longest run of the season with 700 miles more back to Muskie Creek from Lac Brochet. She had a $100 bet and bragging rights on the line with Scott “Scooter” Yuill for who could log the most by the end of the season. The “Ice Queen” endured -40 degree temperatures, which created an environment for machinery failure. She chained up the tires to get her up the hill, but the frigid air wasn’t making things easy. The trailer brakes were frozen. Lisa grabbed a hammer for a quick fix, but had to ultimately cage the brakes. She screwed  the bolt manually to compress the spring and hold the brakes open. This worked as Lisa was able to move forward.  “It’s complete survival mode,” Lisa said, describing her problem-solving method. After receiving a massive kudos for a job well done with a new client, she checked in on her horses. “I do this for them,” Lisa said. She got a taste of home with a visit with some local horses.

Scott, at Keewaywin,  loaded up for his own return trip back to Muskie Creek. The crew added a 20,000-pound backhoe, which will be transported on unpredictable terrain over 400 miles. His chain broke on the tires without any more links. He once again turned to the bungie cords to tight things up. “I have to red neck the sh*t out of this,” Scott explained. Day turns to night and would get stuck in a snow bank. “This road is kicking my ass,” he said. Scott radioed  the road crew for help. While waiting he checks in with his wife Kelly. He reflected on the sacrifices being made and the risk involved with the job away from home. The rescue crew pulled him out to get him going again. Scooter arrived at Muskie Creek after “by far the roughest road I’ve been on.” It was then time for rest before he had to do it all over again.

Zach and Riley Harris were on a first solo run without their dad Shaun. With the Harris & Sons owner considered semi-retired, he hoped the two would prove themselves. The duo had to run up steel and appliances across 600 miles to Fond Du Lac. Shaun encouraged them to keep their speed down as, “they’ve had some close calls” in the area. Riley was the more experienced driver and took the lead to instruct Zach when trucks passed them from the other lane. It was a narrow fit all the way. “We almost shared paint jobs,” Riley said during one pass. The traffic was what concerned Riley, especially when you can’t see them coming. At one point, they lost radio communication, which concerned rookie Zach. Riley stopped after figuring out Zach can’t hear him. Zach’s truck blew a fuse in the dashboard, so they replaced it to get the radio operational again. At Lake Athabasca, the trucker bros made the 20-mile ice crossing on their own. It was dicey during some parts, but got through to the other side, which would surely make Shaun  proud.

Joel Kinnaman in Frozen Lake Action Thriller ‘Ice Fall’ Official Trailer

“I found it…” “Where’s the rest of it?” Aura Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for a movie called Ice Fall, an action thriller made by filmmaker Stefan Ruzowitzky (best known for The Counterfeiters movie in 2007). Alas this is another of these junky action movies being dumped direct-to-video like the old days, but now that just means out on VOD right away. And, surprise surprise, it doesn’t look any good. The story revolves around a young Native American game warden who captures a notorious poacher only to learn that the poacher is aware of the location of a plane carrying millions of dollars that has crashed in a frozen lake. When criminals & corrupt cops close in, the unlikely pair must fight to survive & escape across the ice. This stars Danny Huston, Joel Kinnaman, Graham Greene, Frida Gustavsson, and DeVaughn Nixon. Aside from this being a Cliffhanger ripoff, this whole movie looks absolutely awful… Not even VOD worthy.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Stefan Ruzowitzky’s action movie Ice Fall, direct from YouTube:

“To Find Redemption, You’ll Have to Break Through.” 🧊 A young Indigenous game warden arrests a notorious poacher, only to learn he knows the location of a plane full of cash that crashed in a frozen lake. When criminals and corrupt cops close in, the unlikely pair must fight to survive and escape across the melting ice. Ice Fall is directed by Austrian filmmaker Stefan Ruzowitzky, director of the films Tempo, The Inheritors, Anatomy 1 & 2, All the Queen’s Men, The Counterfeiters, Deadfall, Radical Evil, Cold Hell, Patient Zero, Narcissus and Goldmund, Hinterland, and the series “8 Days” & “Barbarians”. The screenplay is written by Steve Isles and George Mahaffey. Produced by Dimo Aleksandrov, Vladimir Artemenko, Addam Bramich, Gary Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton, Robert Van Norden, & Ying Ye. Aura Entertainment will debut Ruzowitzky’s Ice Fall movie direct-to-VOD starting November 4th, 2025 this fall. Anyone want to watch?

Forrest Frank, Brandon Lake & Jelly Roll Win at 2025 GMA Dove Awards

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

The GMA Dove Awards celebrated many of the biggest songs and artists of the year when the annual awards ceremony aired on Friday night (Oct. 10) on TBN. This year’s awards show took place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena (the awards show had previously been held at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena for several years).

With the theme “Creation Sings,” it was appropriate that the evening both started and concluded with two elements: the evening began with For King & Country, Taylor Hill, Africa Nashvlle, and Stage Ready performing a new song, “World on Fire,” as flames danced across the stage.

The show was filled with uplifting singing, all aimed a sharing a faith-filled message. Being in Music City, a various sounds were represented during the evening, including rap/hip-hop, Southern Gospel, Spanish-language, pop, and country.

New artist of the year winner Leanna Crawford performed her hit “Still Waters (Psalm 23),” while host Tauren Wells and Gio also offered up a sterling, energetic rendition of “Let the Church Sing,” complete with staging that included pews and a church podium, as he sang joined by a choir.

Josiah Queen performed “Dusty Bibles” and “The Prodigal” while Elevation Worship and Elevation Rhythm performed “Goodbye Yesterday” and “I Have Decided.” Other performers included Fred Hammond with The Choir Room.

Israel & New Breed teamed with Unified Sound, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, Alex Campos, Christine D’Clario, Josh and Waleska Morales, Ingrid Rosario, Janina Rosado, Lucia Parker, Nate Diaz and Aaron Moses for a charismatic, uplifting performance of “Coritos de Fuego,” while flying several flags including flags representing Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

Forrest Frank was awarded the biggest honor of the evening, artist of the year, as well as accolades for pop/contemporary recorded song of the year (“YOUR WAY’S BETTER”) and pop/contemporary album of the year (CHILD OF GOD). Frank had previously released a video on social media stating he was not attending the awards ceremony, and was not present at the ceremony.

The Brandon Lake/Jelly Roll collaboration “Hard Fought Hallelujah” took home honors for song of the year, bluegrass/country/roots recorded song of the year and short form music video. Lake took home five total awards — he also won songwriter of the year-artist, and worship recorded song of the year, for “I Know a Name” with Elevation Worship and Chris Brown.

“I’m not sure how much I belong speaking up here right now…I ain’t been this nervous since I went to criminal court, y’all,” Jelly Roll said as he took the stage alongside Lake as song of the year winners for “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” “This is a real thing for me….I was thinking about Matthew, when he talks about ‘the least,’ when he said, ‘When I was hungry, you fed me, when I was thirsty you gave me water, when I was in jail you came and visited me and I realized I am standing here because people took the time with the least. I want to give this message as clear as I can…the world is hearing about Jesus like they haven’t in decades right now. There is a revival happening in the United States of America, where you can’t go on a corner and not hear about Jesus right now,” he said, encouraging those listening, “They’ve heard of Jesus, now go show them Jesus.”

Hulvey accepted the rap/hip-hop album of the year accolade for his project Cry, saying, “Glory to the father. And GMA, thank y’all for doing things spirit-filled, for showing the world that we can love Him through our music.”

Carrie Underwood joined Ben Fuller on a rendition of their collaboration “If It Was Up to Me.” To commemorate the Opry 100 celebration happening this year as the Grand Ole Opry celebrates its centennial anniversary, Opry members Steven Curtis Chapman, Vince Gill and Lady A highlighted the longstanding ties between country music and faith-filled messages, performing a version of Hank Williams Sr.’s “I Saw the Light,” as well as Lady A’s “I Run to You,” Gill’s “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and the country classic “Will The Circle Be Unbroken.”

CeCe Winans won two honors during the evening, including Christmas recorded song of the year, for “Joy to The World.” In winning Gospel worship recorded song of the year for “Come Jesus Come” with Shirley Caesar, Winans thanked Caesar, telling the crowd, “I love her, I grew up listening to her, so to be able to sing with her was just amazing..I’m honored to do what we all get a chance to do,” adding, “God is faithful…we have an awesome responsibility and that is to bring as many people as we can…Let’s remember why we do what we do, so God would be glorified, and so that as many souls as possible would come to know who Jesus is.” Winans also sang “Come Jesus Come” during the evening, turning in one of the most inspired, powerful performances.

The evening closed with another surprise, as Jon Batiste joined Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake to perform “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” They performed on the main stage at Bridgestone, as rain poured down over the performers onstage.

Bone Lake Director on Making an Erotic Thriller, Ignoring Prudes

by jummy84 October 3, 2025

Violence and sexuality walk hand-in-hand in “Bone Lake,” a new thriller now playing in theaters via Bleecker Street. In fact, the film opens with a nude couple running away from certain death through the forest, an attention-grabbing opening.

That wild spirit is what attracted director Mercedes Bryce Morgan to Joshua Friedlander’s twisty script about two couples who accidentally double-book an Airbnb. As they get to know each other, dark and sinister secrets start to emerge.

“It’s something that wasn’t afraid to be extreme,” she says of the script. “I’ve been so excited about thrillers coming back and the fact that this movie doesn’t shy away from sex. But I’m also attracted to the fact that it’s like a European relationship dramedy. We start off, and you really care about these characters, because the relationship is the mechanism that the horror goes through later. To be able to have that but then actually pay it off and go big or go home in the end made me go, ‘OK, this is what I’m interested in.’”

“Bone Lake” director Mercedes Bryce Morgan on set.

While Gen Z has been oddly outspoken about wanting less sex in their entertainment, Morgan thinks that most audiences will be able to ride the film’s wavelength.

“Everything is 180, right?” she says. “Either we think skinny jeans are cool and then we’re like ‘Baggy pants are cool’ — I’m pretty sure skinny jeans are going to be cool again. So I think it’s a generational thing. As a millennial, we’re like, ‘Sex in movies … of course.’ I think younger generations probably go, ‘You guys fucked up so many things. Why are you doing this?’ The thing that I say is the people who love this movie are the people who are going to come and see it. And if it’s not for someone, that’s okay. But it makes the people who love our movie just a stronger fan base.”

That said, Morgan was sure to make the sexuality safe and comfortable on set by setting some ground rules.

“First of all, if there’s female nudity, I make sure that there’s male nudity. It’s either everyone’s nude or no one’s nude, to equal it out,” she says. “It was also talking about, ‘What’s the story reason behind why we’re seeing something?’ Nudity is almost even more fun or interesting sometimes if it’s not used in a sexual context.”

Another key to making an erotic thriller is to make sure the cast has chemistry, and Morgan was able to amp that up with a decidedly G-rated exercise.

“One of the first things I did is when Alex Roe and Andra Nechita got to set to play Will and Cin … It might sound silly, but I had them just dance to fun, silly music together because you’re able to get comfortable with someone physically fast,” she says. “That’s a really easy way to do it. They probably thought, ‘Man, Mercedes, this is like in kindergarten. Why are you having us do this?’ But I go, ‘We need to break down these barriers and just integrate with each other.’”

That sense of play kept Morgan energized during the indie film’s shoot, as well as its long road to theaters. “Bone Lake” first debuted at Fantastic Fest in 2024, making it over a year from its world premiere to wide release date. She remains energized and excited for audiences to see it.

“Whenever I choose a movie, I need to love it so much that I expect to carry it around for years of my life,” she says. “So one could be like, ‘Man, it’s been so long,’ but also we wanted to wait to do it the right way, because the right way is for us to release it in theaters. Also, my job is getting to talk about sex and silliness. So just being able to continue to do that with this, I go, ‘All right, I’m fucking here. Let’s go.’ That’s awesome.”

“You’re disgusting – these are my work clothes!” HBO Max has revealed the first official trailer for a kooky comedy series called The Chair Company, co-created by the comedy writers Tim Robinson & Zach Kanin (both worked for “SNL” for years). So this sees to be the spiritual sequel to the hilarious Friendship movie from earlier this year? The series stars Tim Robinson as a man who investigates a far-reaching conspiracy after an embarrassing workplace incident. The main cast includes Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, Will Price, Joseph Tudisco, & Lou Diamond Phillips. With episodes directed by Andrew DeYoung, director of the film Friendship. So what did he discover? They don’t reveal in here – would could it be? This reminds me of a Charlie Kaufman comedy, it has very similar vibes to Being John Malkovich or even a bit of Boots Riley’s Sorry to Bother You. I hope it gets crazier & crazier as it goes on! Ready to watch and find out later this fall.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for HBO Max’s series The Chair Company, direct from YouTube:

“Ron witnessed a problem. It was a big problem.” The Chair Company tells the story of William Ronald Trosper (starring Tim Robinson from Friendship), who begins investigating a vast, elaborate conspiracy after an embarrassing workplace incident. The Chair Company is an 8-episode comedy series created and co-written by actor / comedian Tim Robinson (writer on “Saturday Night Live”, “Detroiters”, “I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson”) and writer Zach Kanin (also from “Saturday Night Live”, “I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson”). Featuring episodes directed by Andrew DeYoung and Aaron Schimberg. Made by Wolfmask, Inc., Zanin Corp, Hyperobject Industries. Executive produced by Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, Adam McKay and Todd Schulman for HyperObject Industries, plus Andrew DeYoung, and Igor Srubshchik. HBO will debut The Chair Company comedy series streaming on HBO Max starting October 12th, 2025 with new episodes weekly through the end of November. Anyone interested in watching this?

Sierra Falconer’s Sundance gem is a rare bird: an anthology film that feels truly alive and interconnected. The filmmaker tells IndieWire how she decided to use such a tricky format to build her close-to-home stories into one wonderfully cohesive film.

“It seems like someone wanted all of us here…” Bleecker Street has debuted their full official trailer for a horror thriller dark comedy called Bone Lake, set to open in theaters starting in early October for anyone to enjoy. This film first premiered at Fantastic Fest last year, but didn’t show up at many other fests since then. When two young couples are mistakenly double-booked into the same vacation rental, their romantic weekend becomes a twisted maze of sex, lies, and survival. Directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan as her latest horror feature following Spoonful of Sugar and Fixation. Starring Maddie Hasson, Marco Pigossi, Alex Roe, Andra Nechita, Eliane Reis, and Clayton Spencer. This isn’t the first film about a double booked vacation rental, but it does look like it has a few other unique twists up its sleeves. What is this game they’re playing? The first teaser a few months ago is better than this trailer – which is more confusing than exciting.

Here’s the main official trailer (+ poster) for Mercedes Bryce Morgan’s film Bone Lake, from YouTube:

“Sleek, sexy, erotic.” A couple’s romantic vacation at a secluded lakeside estate is upended when they are forced to share the mansion with a mysterious and attractive couple that also booked the same place. In this darkly hilarious and seductive horror story, a dream getaway spirals into a nightmarish maze of sex, lies, and manipulation, bringing terrifying secrets to light and triggering a bloody battle for survival. Bone Lake is directed by indie genre filmmaker Mercedes Bryce Morgan, director of the films Spoonful of Sugar and Fixation previously, plus tons of other music videos and short films. The screenplay is written by Joshua Friedlander. Produced by Jason Blumenfeld, Joshua Friedlander, Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, Jacob Yakob. This initially premiered at Fantastic Fest 2024 in Austin, TX last year. Bleecker Street debuts Bone Lake in theaters nationwide starting on October 3rd, 2025 this fall. Who’s curious?
