The petition was allegedly moved in December 2024 at the Bandra Family Court.
Legal sources indicate that Govinda has reportedly skipped several court-ordered counseling sessions and hearings, while Sunita has shown up for all of the dates she was supposed to appear. These no-shows by the actor have been reportedly added pressure to the already tense proceedings.

According to her, “Today he has four people – a writer, a musician, a secretary, and a lawyer friend. They are of no use. They only say, ‘wah, wah!’”. “They should tell him the truth. When I tell him the truth, he gets upset.”
