Lady Annabel Goldsmith has died.

Lady Annabel Goldsmith dead at 91

The 91-year-old socialite – who was a close friend of the late Princess Diana – has passed away, leaving her six children, including journalist and film producer Jemima Goldsmith and former Conservative MP Zac Goldsmith, “desperately saddened”, according to MailOnline.

Lady Goldsmith was the younger daughter of the 8th Marquess of Londonderry and Queen Elizabeth II attended her “coming-out” ball in 1952.

Goldsmith’s first husband Mark Birley famously named the Mayfair nightclub Annabel’s after her in 1963.

The couple married in 1954 and had three children Rupert, Robin and India Jane.

They were married for 21 years before Lady Annabel’s affair with Sir James Goldsmith.

She went on to marry Sir James in 1978 and they had three more children together, Jemima, Zac and Ben.

Just last month, she attended the wedding of her son Zac to Hum Fleming at St James’s Church in Longborough in the Cotswolds.

According to The Sun, she once joked that she was “an incredible mother, rather a good mistress, but not a very good wife”.

Lady Annabel was born Annabel Vane-Tempest-Stewart in London in 1934.

She was the daughter of Robin Vane-Tempest-Stewart, Viscount Castlereagh, who went on to become the 8th Marquess of Londonderry, and Romaine Combe, who was the daughter of Major Boyce Combe, from Surrey.

She took on the title of Lady Annabel in 1949 at the age of 15 when her father became Marquess on the death of his father.

She tragically lost both of her parents at a young age, with her mother dying of cancer in 1951 and her father passing away in 1955.

Rolling Stone Tips Lady Gaga’s Mayhem As 2026 Grammys Album Of The Year Front-Runner | Glamsham.com

Lady Gaga is once again in the Grammy spotlight, and this time, she might just take it all. Rolling Stone has predicted that Gaga’s Mayhem could be the album to beat at the 2026 Grammys. Critics are calling it her most confident and layered work in years, and the momentum around it feels massive. After a decade filled with acting projects, fashion triumphs, and creative reinventions, Gaga has returned to music with the same bold energy that defined her early career, only sharper and more seasoned.

Gaga’s history with the Grammys has always been remarkable. She earned three consecutive Album of the Year nominations starting with The Fame in 2010, followed by The Fame Monster in 2011 and Born This Way in 2012. Each project pushed pop boundaries and redefined what a mainstream artist could do. Now, after more than a decade, she’s back with experience, artistry, and a sound that merges the raw energy of her debut with the maturity of a global icon.

“Lady Gaga always feels like a strong contender for this category,” says John Stein, Head of North America Editorial at Spotify. “But this time, she has both the story and the music on her side.” His comment reflects a wider industry sentiment: Mayhem isn’t just a pop record, nit’s a cultural moment. The album blends experimental production with emotional songwriting, giving fans both spectacle and soul.

Still, Gaga faces serious competition. Bad Bunny’s next project is expected to dominate global charts, Kendrick Lamar is rumored to be dropping a politically charged record, and Tyler, the Creator is known for his unpredictable yet artistic albums. The 2026 Grammys might turn into one of the fiercest Album of the Year races in recent memory. But as of now, all eyes are on Gaga and Mayhem, the comeback everyone’s been waiting for.

Kangana Ranaut is no stranger to bold statements and comparisons, and she’s once again making headlines with her latest comments about her career and the Khans of Bollywood. The actress, who often refers to herself as “Lady Khan,” has now compared her journey to that of Shah Rukh Khan, claiming that she has worked harder than him to achieve success in the industry.

In a recent event in Delhi, Kangana shared her thoughts on her rise to fame and how she believes her story is different from the other superstars in Bollywood. According to one of the media houses, she made a surprising remark, stating that she has achieved success all on her own, unlike Shah Rukh Khan, who hails from Delhi and attended a convent school.

Kangana explained, “Why did I achieve so much success? There’s hardly anyone else who has come from a village and achieved so much success in the mainstream. Think about Shah Rukh Khan. He’s from Delhi and studied in a convent school. I come from a village no one has ever heard of Bhambla.” Her comments are a reflection of her pride in her roots and the hard work she believes has set her apart in the industry.

“Others may disagree, but I think it’s because I’m incredibly honest, not only with people but also with myself. I’ve worked very hard to establish myself in Bollywood,” Kangana added, emphasizing the dedication she believes she’s shown throughout her career. Kangana’s journey to stardom is well-known. Leaving her home at a young age to pursue a career in acting, she made her debut at 19 with the film Gangster. Over the years, she built a successful career with standout roles in films like Raaz 2, Tanu Weds Manu, Tanu Weds Manu 2, and Fashion, earning accolades for her performances. She has won four National Film Awards, cementing her place as one of Bollywood’s most respected actresses.

Andrew Lloyd Webber Loved Lady Gaga's Mayhem Ball: 'World Superstar'

Andrew Lloyd Webber Loved Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball: ‘World Superstar’

by jummy84 October 13, 2025

It’d be fair to call Andrew Lloyd Webber a Little Monster. On Saturday, the musical theater giant shared a video praising Lady Gaga‘s performance at the O2 Arena in London, calling it a “fabulous” live show, and celebrating a portion of a show reminiscent of Phantom of the Opera.

“I loved the Lady Gaga concert. It was really fabulous. She really knows how to handle an audience. And it was a great evening,” Webber said in a video posted to Instagram. “It was so wonderful, actually, to see somebody really singing live, rather than, as we know, some artists who are really miming to a pre-recorded track. And there was nothing of that.”

Webber celebrated Gaga’s references to opera at large, but also a particular poignant moment in the night when the singer emulates a scene in Phantom, during which she is rowed in a boat onstage while singing “Shallow.”

“I was really, really pleased to see an opera house on stage, and even more pleased to see a boat with her in it being rowed across the big auditorium, that is O2,” Webber said. “It reminded me of something that I might have had a little involvement with.”

He added: “I thought the concert was absolutely fabulous. And I think Lady Gaga is absolutely a world superstar.”

Gaga caught wind of Webber’s acknowledgment on TikTok, leaving a comment under his post, saying, “This is. adream come true.”

Gaga is currently on the European leg of her Mayhem Ball tour, and is scheduled to perform in Stockholm, Milan, and Barcelona through the end of this month. She’ll wrap the run’s first leg in Australia in December, before visiting Japan and returning stateside early next year.

Rolling Stone lauded Gaga’s tour opener in Las Vegas over the summer, calling her a “fearless storyteller” and describing the run a “legacy-defining” moment in her career.

Andrew Lloyd Webber on Lady Gaga’s ‘Mayhem Ball’ show in London: “Absolutely fabulous”

Andrew Lloyd Webber has heavily praised Lady Gaga’s ‘Mayhem Ball’ show in London, describing it as “absolutely fabulous”.

The pop singer played a run of four shows in the O2 Arena in recent weeks as part of the tour supporting her latest album ‘Mayhem’, which was her seventh straight Number One record.

In attendance at one of the shows was musical theatre legend Webber, who shared his reaction to the show in a video on Instagram, in which he heaped praise on Gaga and saved special mention for the portion of the show in which she performs ‘Shallow’ in a rowing boat, in a nod to his production of The Phantom Of The Opera.

“I loved the Lady Gaga concert,” he said. “It was really fabulous. She really knows how to handle an audience. And it was a great evening.”

“It was so wonderful, actually, to see somebody really singing live, rather than, as we know, some artists who are really miming to a pre-recorded track. And there was nothing of that.”

“I was really, really pleased to see an opera house on stage, and even more pleased to see a boat with her in it being rowed across the big auditorium, that is O2,” he added. “It reminded me of something that I might have had a little involvement with.”

“I thought the concert was absolutely fabulous. And I think Lady Gaga is absolutely a world superstar.”

Gaga herself responded to his comments, replying to a video on TikTok: “This is. adream come true.”

NME was also at one of the London shows, writing in a glowing five star review: “Then, flames begin to flicker on top of the opera house behind her and she leaves the stage for the encore, returning make-up free, in a simple black outfit and beanie over the hair that’s been covered by countless wigs tonight. It’s a nod to the real person behind this artful masterpiece, but also another performance. Like every other that has come before it, though, it’s just perfect.”

The tour continues around Europe in the coming weeks – you can find all the dates and ticket information here.

In a four-star review of the ‘Mayhem’ album, NME wrote: “Ultimately, ‘Mayhem’ feels like a great Gaga album because it’s just so much fun. At times, it’s a bit like reconnecting with an old friend who makes sense even when they seem to be chatting nonsense. When she sings ‘river in my eyes, I’ve got a poem in my throat‘ on ‘LoveDrug’, it’s just her overblown way of saying she’s sad and tongue-tied.

“Seventeen years after she broke through with ‘Just Dance’, Lady Gaga remains pop’s foremost agent of impeccably crafted chaos.”

Lady Gaga joins ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Lady Gaga has reportedly joined the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2, joining Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt for the sequel.

The original film, based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger, starred Hathaway as a journalism graduate who lands a job at a prestigious fashion magazine, assisting its foreboding editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Streep). The 2006 comedy was a critical and box office hit, with a follow-up announced last year.

Now, Deadline reports that the ‘Mayhem’ singer will be joining the cast in an as-yet-undisclosed role, following pictures of her on set recently emerging online. The film is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, almost 20 years since the previous movie hit cinemas, and will focus on Priestly navigating the changing climate of print journalism.

Gaga has balanced her music career with a string of high-profile acting roles in recent years. Having played significant roles on the small screen in American Horror Story: Hotel and the most recent season of Wednesday, her biggest successes have come in film.

In 2018, she played the lead in A Star Is Born, a remake of the 1937 romantic drama co-starring Bradley Cooper as a troubled industry legend who mentors and falls in love with a talented newcomer (Gaga). The ‘Poker Face’ artist won an Oscar for Best Original Song for ‘Shallow’, and was nominated for Best Actress. She would also win a BAFTA and Golden Globe for the film’s music.

Last year, she played Harleen “Lee” Quinzel, a version of the character Harley Quinn, in Joker: Folie à Deux. While her performance was praised by critics, the film was a box office failure. Responding to the poor reception, Gaga told Elle: “I think to be an artist, you have to be willing for people to sometimes not like it. And you keep going even if something didn’t connect in the way that you intended.”

The announcement caps a busy year for the artist, who released her sixth solo studio album ‘Mayhem’ on March 7. She hosted SNL the same month to promote the release, and performed a headline set at Coachella the following month.

In July, she embarked on the ‘The Mayhem Ball’ world tour, which included a London residency at The O2. NME’s five-star review described it as “flawless camp theatre from a true pop icon”, writing: “Never one to hold back, the theatrical pop auteur is in world-building mode, creating a fantastical, camp horror universe within the arena that sees her do battle with another version of herself, at times flanked by skeletons, witches and plague doctors.”

Last month, unseen footage emerged of Lady Gaga planning cancelled 2009 ‘Fame Kills’ tour with Kanye West.

Leighton Meester on Portraying Lady Godiva and Chocolate

by jummy84 October 2, 2025
written by jummy84

The news is out: Leighton Meester is stepping into a new role that’s just as sweet as her acting chops. On Monday, it was announced that ahead of the actress’s upcoming role in season 2 of Netflix’s hit Nobody Wants This—starring Adam Brody and Kristin Bell—premiering October 23, she’ll be the first person to portray the legendary Lady Godiva in a Godiva Chocolatier partnership. While the historical figure might have gone down in history as an Anglo-Saxon noblewoman known for her patronage of churches and a naked horseback ride, Meester’s new portrayal is already giving us modern-day realness with mid-century makeup flair.

I caught up with a newly blonde Meester just before the news was made public and learned straight from the new Lady Godiva herself what we can look forward to seeing as the Brussels-born chocolatier embarks on its next chapter with a new face. Keep reading for an insider’s look into the femme fatale–coded world of Lady Godiva.

I’d love to learn more about what this fun partnership with Godiva means to you! What was the overall vision for aligning yourself with the brand?

There are plenty of reasons to partner with Godiva, but this campaign has been so fun and meaningful for me! But mostly, I just really like chocolate, and it’s not that hard to convince me to indulge in it. I’ve been a fan of Godiva my whole life before I even knew what it was. It was the Christmas present I could always expect Santa to bring.

To this day, I think that this chocolate can create special moments for you through just taking a bite as a special treat. The campaign is really inspirational for me. I feel very honored to carry on that joyful, strong, and bold legacy of Lady Godiva and what her story stood for. I’m able to find some humor and joy in it.

That makes so much sense! I did some research on Lady Godiva and learned so much about her. How has this collaboration allowed you to engage with this icon’s legacy in a new way?

The idea of the myth and the legend is bigger than the actual person, and that goes to show her impact. … If I can to bring the legend back down to Earth by representing that kind of strength and willpower with some tongue-in-cheek humor and cheekiness, anybody can. It’s an honor to partner with Godiva and become a day-to-day inspiration.
