Disney+ has greenlit a second season of Korean crime series “Made in Korea” before the first season’s premiere, with production already underway on the follow-up.

The renewal was revealed during a panel with stars Hyun Bin, Jung Woosung and Woo Dohwan, alongside director Woo Minho, at the Disney+ originals preview at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort on Thursday. The streamer also confirmed that Season 1 will launch Dec. 24.

Set in 1970s Korea, the crime noir follows Baek Kitae, a KCIA agent leading a double life as a smuggler. The ambitious operative uses his illicit activities to climb the agency’s ranks while protecting his brother and amassing wealth. His ascent hits a roadblock when he faces off against an incorruptible prosecutor, setting up a high-stakes battle between the two men.

Hyun Bin (“Crash Landing on You,” “Confidential Assignment”) stars as agent Baek Kitae, with Jung Woosung (“12.12: The Day,” “Hunt”) playing prosecutor Jang Geonyoung and Woo Dohwan (“Bloodhounds,” “Mr. Plankton”) as Kitae’s brother Baek Kihyun.

The series is written by Park Eunkyo (“Sea of Tranquility,” “Mother”) and Park Joonseok (“A Normal Family”), with Woo Minho (“The Man Standing Next,” “Inside Men”) directing. Hive Media Corp (“Inside Men,” “The Man Standing Next,” “12.12: The Day”) produces.

written by jummy84

Disney+ has renewed Korean crime series Made In Korea for a second season, with Season 1 debuting on the platform on December 24 this year.

Season 1 stars Hyun Bin (Crash Landing On You, Confidential Assignment), Jung Woosung (12.12: The Day, Hunt) and Woo Dohwan (My Puppy, Bloodhounds), who all appeared on stage at Disney’s APAC Showcase in Hong Kong.

Director Woo Min-ho reunites with Hyun Bin, who previously starred in Woo’s historical film Harbin.

Production has already begun on Season 2, which will premiere in late-2026.

Set in 1970s Korea, the first season of Made In Korea follows Baek Kitae (played by Hyun Bin), an ambitious KCIA agent who is living a double life.

Driven by his thirst for power, Kitae works as an agent by day and a smuggler by night. Suave, cunning and capable, Kitae rapidly moves up the ranks after using his smuggling operation to consolidate power, protect his brother (played by Woo) and generate vast sums of money for the agency.

Seemingly unstoppable, only one person stands in his way — a tenacious prosecutor, Jang Geon-young (played by Jung) who can’t be bought or bribed. With everything at stake for both men, the series will follow the duo as they look to take each other down.

Made in Korea is written by Park Eunkyo (Sea of Tranquility, Mother) and Park Joonseok (A Normal Family).

The series is produced by Hive Media Corp, with two episodes set to premiere on December 24.

Another two episodes will premiere on December 31, with one episode releasing January 7 and the finale debuting January 14.

written by jummy84

The Tamil and Telugu OTT space is buzzing with an exciting lineup of shows and films. Earlier, films such as Maharaja, Lucky Bhaskar and TEST received a lot of love and appreciation from the audience.

Following the success of these titles, Netflix today announced a lineup of six new Tamil and Telugu original films and series. From edge-of-the-seat thrillers to romantic flicks, it includes something for everyone.

Stephen, a Tamil psychological thriller film directed by Mithun and starring Gomathi Shankar, delves into the mind of a self-confessed killer being evaluated by a psychiatrist on a chilling case. The psychiatrist soon finds herself entangled in a mind-twisting mystery, as what begins as a simple evaluation becomes a descent into darkness. Next is a Telugu series Super Subbu, an offbeat comedy of errors, directed by Mallik Ram and starring Sandeep Kishan. It follows a man unexpectedly tasked with teaching sex education to members of a remote village, despite being the least qualified for the job.

There is also #Love, a Tamil series directed by Balaji Mohan and starring Arjun Das and Aishwarya Lekshmi, which offers a refreshing take on modern romance. The show explores the age-old debate as two unlikely partners embark on a unique challenge that brings them closer in unexpected ways.

Taking a heartfelt detour, Made In Korea brings a fresh cross-cultural story to Tamil cinema. Directed by Ra Karthik and starring Priyanka Mohan alongside Park Hye-Jin of Squid Game fame, the film is about a young woman whose dream trip to Korea is derailed by betrayal. Through unexpected friendships and hard lessons, she discovers hope, and herself.

Takshakudu is an upcoming Telugu folklore thriller directed by Vinod Anantoju. Anand Devarakonda stars as a blind man who, along with his loyal dog, sets out to avenge the deaths of his fellow villagers after a tragic accident.

Closing out the line-up is Legacy, a Tamil series from director Charukesh Sekar featuring a powerhouse ensemble cast: R. Madhavan, Nimisha Sajayan, Gautham Karthik, Gulshan Devaiah and Abhishek Banerjee. This gritty family gangster drama spirals into a story where high-stakes saga of succession, where saving an empire means risking everything.

From nail-biting thrillers and moving dramas to punchy comedies and tender romances, this diverse lineup showcases Tamil and Telugu cinema’s creative brilliance.

Vanessa Lee of The Things We Do Spills K-Beauty Tips After Jetting Off to Korea With Kim and Khloé Kardashian

Girls trip goals! Vanessa Lee of The Things We Do enjoyed a Korean getaway — courtesy of Kim Air — with Kim and Khloé Kardashian, La La Anthony, and more, and now, the skincare expert is spilling the beauty intel she picked up overseas.

“Korea is known for their innovation in cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures and prioritizes efficiency and quality. … I always like to go straight to the source of where professionals are mastering their techniques,” she tells ET.

In 2018, the medical aesthetic provider received thread training from Korean providers ahead of opening her own beauty studios, and earlier this year, she visited the country to try out the PicoSure Pro laser and Jeuveau neurotoxin before bringing them to her locations.

As for this time around? Lee got to test out fresh treatments, plus share top advice with her fellow travelers.

“I had the opportunity to guide the girls with my expertise. … This trip was about getting a little more invasive for me. … Korea’s hyperpigmentation technologies, body tightening devices, and biostimulator skin boosters have been on my to-do list.”

Kim Kardashian/Instagram

Some of her favorites: “I loved the Onda body tightening treatment using microwave technology and want to introduce stacking PicoSure with Vivace for maximum skin rejuvenation, as well and to start embossing PRFM into the skin for more superficial support.”

If you are just diving into the K-Beauty trends, the cosmetic RN recommends getting started with staples from Korean pharmacies.

“I love Noscarna for scar reduction, Rejuall PDRN for barrier building and strength, and zinc and pineapple enzyme jellies and powders for internal healing,” she shares.

And even if you’re already a pro, there’s always newness to explore.

“I experienced a variety of more advanced procedures firsthand and studied their potential for our patients and Kim learned about beauty and business for SKIMS. It was so much fun and was a girls’ trip for the books,” Lee says.
