Get to know… Kashika Kapoor

by jummy84 December 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Currently I am: Shooting for three films, juggling early call times, the gym, workshops and airports.

Actor Kashika Kapoor wishes she could pause time to sleep and rehearse more.

High point in life: Watching my movies, series, and songs connect so deeply with people.

Low point in life: My formative years. It’s when I learnt discipline, sharpened my craft and understood myself better.

On my playlist: Dil Pe Zakhm, by Jubin Nautiyal; Love Me Like You Do, by Ellie Goulding; Naatu Naatu, by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.

One thing I would never buy: Something showy just for validation.

Today I’m craving: Homemade rajma chawal.

Last thing I ordered online: A vintage-typewriter-style keyboard to type my character notes.

App I check before bed: My Notes app, where I write my thoughts, ideas, dialogues and dreams.

Advice I’d give my 18-year-old self: “I’m so proud of you. Keep going with the same fire, it will all unfold beautifully.”

My favourite subject in school: English Literature.

I’d swipe right on: Honesty, with a sense of calm.

My secret skill: I can switch between emotions instantly.

A magic tool I wish I had: A device to pause time. Then I’d rehearse more, sleep more, and live more.

My favourite Sunday memory: Playing basketball for hours and coming home to my mom’s hot parathas. Sunlight, sweat, laughter—simple happiness!

My plans for next Sunday: Either perfecting a new choreography or treating myself to a slow morning with good music and coffee.

My most star-struck moment: I don’t get star-struck. I connect more with someone’s work.

My favourite bad habit: Overworking.

If I could travel back or forward in time, I’d: Go forward to see the films I’ll do and the person I’ll evolve into.

The best thing about fame: Being able to make people smile, even strangers. And having the chance to tell meaningful stories.

The worst thing about fame: People assume they know every layer of you. I’ve learned to protect my peace.

Get to know… Nikki Tamboli

written by jummy84

Actor, reality TV star, @Nikki_Tamboli

Reality TV star Nikki loves binge-watching a new series on Sundays.

Currently I am: Shooting for a new reality show and juggling brand collaborations. It’s a hectic but happy time.

High point in life: Stepping into the Bigg Boss 14 house. It changed everything for me, not just my career. I became more confident and it changed the way people saw me.

Low point in life: Losing my brother to Covid in 2021. It broke me for a while.

On my playlist: Raataan Lambiyan, by Asees Kaur and Jubin Nautiyal; Calm Down, by Rema and Selena Gomez; Tum Hi Ho, by Arijit Singh.

One thing I would never buy: Fake friends. They’re the most expensive mistake you can make.

Today I’m craving: A big bowl of homemade rajma chawal.

Last thing I ordered online: Scented candles.

App I check before bed: Instagram. It’s part work, part guilty pleasure.

Advice I’d give my 18-year-old self: Be fearless, stay real, and stop overthinking. Everything you’re dreaming of is waiting for you, just keep going.

My favourite subject in school: Economics.

I’d swipe right on: Honesty and a good sense of humour.

My secret skill is: Mimicry. Both voices and expressions. My friends often end up in splits!

A magic tool I wish I had: A way to heal people physically and emotionally. The world would be such a better place if we all could.

My favourite Sunday memory: Long naps, cartoons, Mom’s special poha for breakfast.

My plans for next Sunday: Sleep in, spend time with my pet, and maybe binge-watch a new series.

My most star-struck moment: Meeting Salman Khan for the first time during Bigg Boss. To interact with him every weekend was surreal.

My favourite bad habit: Late-night snacking. I tell myself it’s creative fuel.

If I could travel back or forward in time: I’d revisit my school days, no deadlines, no stress. Just dreams and laughter.

The best thing about fame: Being able to inspire people and connect with fans who genuinely love you. Their messages keep me going on tough days.

The worst thing about fame: Constant judgment. People forget that celebrities are human too. We feel, we break, we heal just like everyone else.

Get to know… Praveen Kumar

by jummy84 October 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Currently I am: Training for upcoming competitions.

Praveen Kumar’s best moment was winning gold at the Paris Olympics in the Men’s High Jump T64 event.

High point in life: Winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics in the Men’s High Jump T64 event. The victory was a testament to all the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices I made throughout my career.

Low point in life: The 2019 Junior World Para Championship, when they changed my competition category from T42 to T44. It was disheartening, but I coped by training even harder. That experience made me more resilient.

On my playlist: Why Do I?, by Unknown Brain; My Heart Goes (La Di Da), by Becky Hill; Rapampam, by Minelli.

One thing I would never buy: A flat. I prefer the open space and comfort of a bungalow.

Today I’m craving: Comfort food, such as dal roti. It reminds me of home and it’s exactly what I need after a long training day.

Last thing I ordered online: Moolchand paranthas.

App I check before going to bed: Instagram.

Advice I’d give my 18-year-old self: Focus on your goals. Stay committed, avoid distractions, and trust the process.

My favourite subject in school: Sports. It was where I felt most alive and confident.

I’d swipe right on: Kindness.

My secret skill is: Volleyball. It has helped me develop teamwork, agility, and strategic thinking skills.

My favourite Sunday memory: The simple pleasure of being at home, spending time with loved ones, and recharging for the week ahead.

My plans for next Sunday: To sleep. Recovery and rest are crucial after hectic training days.

My most star-struck moment: The Paralympic victory celebration when the Ambani family invited the winners to Mumbai. I met Ranveer Singh, Akash Ambani, Nita Ambani, and several superstars. Being celebrated for my achievement was truly surreal and unforgettable.

My favourite bad habit: Sometimes, I procrastinate or take things easy, but I try to manage it as a small indulgence.

If I could travel back or forward in time, I’d: Travel to the year 2036. I’m curious to see how far technology and society have advanced and what the future holds for sports and para-athletes like myself.

The best thing about fame: Being recognised by so many people. It feels rewarding to inspire others.

The worst thing about fame: Managing public attention and expectations sometimes interrupts my focus and routine, which can be challenging.

Get to know… Kanika Dhillon

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Currently I am: Deep in the editing room for my upcoming film Gandhari, in pre-production for the next, and constantly crafting stories.

Kanika Dhillon’s high point in life is the birth of her son.

High point in life: The birth of my son, Veer. Nothing tops that. Professionally, the first time I watched a story I’d written – Manmarziyaan – come alive on the big screen.

Low point in life: Losing a dear friend and colleague to an untimely illness. It left an emotional void.

On my playlist: Namo Namo Ji Shankara by Amit Trivedi; Raanjhan by Parampara Thakur; Yun Hi ( From the movie Tanu Weds Manu) by Mohit Chauhan.

One thing I’d never buy: A designer leash for my toddler. (Let’s be honest – he walks me.)

Today I’m craving: Sarson ka saag and makke ki roti, home-style, full of comfort.

Last thing I ordered online: A detailed world map. My son’s current obsession is geography and I’m happily enabling it.

App I check before bed: Google. Usually searching: “How to train a toddler without losing your mind.” (Spoiler: I haven’t cracked it yet.)

Advice I’d give my 18-year-old self: Breathe. Move forward. It all works out. Even the chaos has a purpose.

My favourite subject in school: History – stories of civilisations, revolutions, and resilience. Guess storytelling was always in my bones.

I’d swipe right on: Honesty, with a good sense of humour as a bonus.

My secret skill: Multitasking like a pro. Juggling motherhood, running my production house, and writing screenplays without dropping the pen (or the lunchbox!).

A superpower I wish I had: To stretch time. There just aren’t enough hours in a day to dream, do, and be present.

My favourite Sunday memory: Laid-back picnics with my two boys – my husband Himanshu and my son Veer.

My plans for next Sunday: Holidaying with family. Hopefully somewhere with no network and clear sky.

My most star-struck moment: Meeting my son for the first time. No celebrity moment comes close.

My favourite bad habit: Calling a spade a spade. No filters, no pretence, even when it’s uncomfortable.

If I could time travel…: I wouldn’t change a thing. I’d make the same glorious mistakes, because they shaped the woman I am today.

The best thing about fame: The ability to connect directly with audiences. When someone tells me a story I wrote changed or touched them, it’s the real reward.

The worst thing about fame: The constant pressure to never falter.

On my speed dial: My parents.

Today I’m craving: Dal pakwan.

Next big splurge: Artwork for my house.

Last thing I ordered online: A scented diffuser.

Advice I’d give my 18-year-old self: You can create your “Right Place Right Time” moment. Don’t think otherwise.

A magic tool I wish I had: A teleportation device.

My favourite Sunday memory while growing up: Wrestling with my dogs all over the house.

My most star-struck moment so far: Meeting Hrithik Roshan when I was 11 years old.

My favourite bad habit: Getting lost in my own world.

If I could travel back or forward in time…: I’d want to go back and see how the Pyramids were built.

A trait I despise in people: Lack of attentiveness in a conversation.

I won’t leave the house without…: Earphones.

The best thing about fame: Having the power to help others.

The worst thing about fame: The amount of scrutiny that comes with it.
