Paul Bettany hasn’t watched ‘A Knight’s Tale’ because he misses Heath Ledger

Paul Bettany has admitted he hasn’t watched his breakthrough film A Knight’s Tale since it was first released because he misses late co-star Heath Ledger “too much”.

The WandaVision and Avengers star played English poet and writer Geoffrey Chaucer in the medieval 2001 action-comedy, which starred Ledger as William Thatcher, a peasant squire, fuelled by his desire for food and glory, who forges a new identity for himself as a knight when his master dies.

Ledger went on to be nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his role in Brokeback Mountain in 2005 and he played the iconic Batman villain The Joker in Christopher Nolan’s 2008 blockbuster The Dark Knight. The actor died in January the same year, four months before the release of the film, after overdosing on prescription drugs. He was 28 years-old.

The late actor received a posthumous Oscar for his role in the film.

Speaking in a Q&A during an appearance over the weekend at the LA Comic Con, when asked if fans ever ask him to repeat some of his iconic lines from A Knight’s Tale, Bettany said: “It was a really long time ago. It was like another lifetime ago. And people do come up sometimes, people come up to me on the street and quote things at me, and I literally can’t remember. I can’t remember any of it.”

He added: “I saw [the film] when it first came out. I’ve never seen it again since. There are lots of reasons for that, and just one of them is that I miss Heath too much.”

Elsewhere, it was recently confirmed that Bettany is set to return as Marvel Studios’ Vision in the forthcoming Disney+ series Vision Quest, which is set for release in 2026.

Bettany last played Vision in the 2021 Disney+ series WandaVision, where the character was resurrected and revamped into White Vision following his death in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War.

Keefe D Claims Diddy Placed $1M Bounty On 2Pac, Suge Knight’s Heads

Nearly three decades after the murder of Tupac Shakur, new reports are once again tying Sean “Diddy” Combs to the infamous crime, as allegations surrounding his alleged role resurface ahead of Duane “Keefe D” Davis’ upcoming trial.

According to a 2025 DEA document obtained by USA Today, statements originally made by Keefe D in 2008 and 2009 police interviews have reemerged, once again raising Diddy’s name.

Davis, an admitted former leader of the South Side Compton Crips, previously alleged that Combs placed a $1 million bounty on Shakur’s life, though he insists the payment was never delivered.

Davis claimed Combs expressed his ill will towards Shakur and Death Row Records founder Marion “Suge” Knight, saying something to the effect of: “He would give anything for those dudes’ heads.”

While Combs has never been charged or even named a suspect by Las Vegas authorities, the allegations have persisted over the years. Former Bad Boy security guard Gene Deal has repeatedly suggested that Eric “Von Zip” Martin may have facilitated the alleged transaction, even encouraging investigators to look for a paper trail.

For his part, Combs has vehemently denied any involvement. Mopreme Shakur, Tupac’s brother, has also confirmed that the mogul once personally called him in the 2000s to clear his name. “The boy Puffy called me though,” Mopreme told The Art of Dialogue.

“Puffy called me back in the day. … He was like, ‘I just want you to know I ain’t have nothing to do with your brother’s [murder]. I know who you are, but we never met and I just want to call you man to man and let you know that I ain’t have nothing to do with your brother’s death.’”

Shakur was shot multiple times in a drive-by on the night of September 7, 1996, while riding in a BMW driven by Knight near the Las Vegas Strip. He succumbed to his injuries six days later, on September 13, at just 25 years old.

The killing, along with the subsequent 1997 murder of Pac’s rival, The Notorious B.I.G., has remained one of hip-hop’s most enduring mysteries, fueling decades of speculation, theories, and accusations.

Meanwhile, Keefe D was arrested in September 2023 and charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors allege that he acted as the “on-ground, on-site commander” who “ordered the death” of Tupac.

His trial is currently scheduled to begin on February 9, 2026, ensuring that Shakur’s tragic murder—and the cloud of speculation surrounding it—remains at the center of hip-hop’s most haunting, unsolved case.
