Jaquel Knight Shares First Choreography He Memorized And Best Battle Songs

Jaquel Knight’s talent has opened doors for him to work with some of the industry’s top talent including Beyoncé, Chris Brown, and Brandy,  but the Atlanta representative still remembers the first choreography he ever memorized.

“The first song I learned the choreo too was ‘Real Love’ by Mary J Blige when she performed it on Soul Train,”  he revealed to VIBE at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final. “Then it was every TLC performance. My favorite one was when they did the MTV VMA’s [1999]. That’s probably one of my favorite things I remember learning. Then I became a pop kid. All the Brittney Spears performances. All the Janet Jackson performances. I can go on and on.”

Enthusiastically, he continued to elaborate on his relationship to street dance as the competitors at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final were tasked with delivering the best of their non-traditional, freestyle moves opposed to showcasing classically trained technique and learned routines.

“I’m from the hood,” he exclaimed. “If you can’t dance, if you can’t get out there and go, you can’t dance. Freestyle dance is the core of who we are as dancers and the core of who I am as a choreographer.”

Knight continued, “For me, it’s important for dancers to be able to freestyle. It’s also an art I want to say we’re losing but thankfully things like this Red Bull event, it’s keeping the freestyle alive…That’s where your personality, your attitude, your charisma comes from.”

Keeping in alignment with street style, 36-year-old listed the top songs for dancers to play for head-to-head competition. Artists he named include Missy Elliott, Fatman Scoop, Pharrell Williams and more.

‘Slow Horses’ pays subtle tribute to Gary Oldman’s ‘The Dark Knight’ co-star Heath Ledger

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

The writers of Slow Horses appear to have hidden a tribute to Heath Ledger in the fifth season of the show.

Gary Oldman plays the lead character Jackson Lamb in the Apple TV spy comedy series, and also starred as Lt. Gordon in Christopher Nolan’s beloved 2008 film The Dark Knight, and in episode five of the new season of Slow Horses, the two streams appeared to cross.

In a scene in which he becomes frustrated with his colleague, Oldman’s character snaps, “When you talk, I wanna stick a pencil in my eye and headbutt the table!”

Fans have speculated that this could be a sly reference to a memorable scene in The Dark Knight in which Ledger’s Joker intimidates a group of organised criminals by asking, “How about a magic trick?” before slamming a pencil into the table. “I’m going to make the pencil disappear,” he adds.

As one of the mob confronts him, the Joker smashed his head eye-first through the pencil. “Ta-da!” he exclaims. “It’s gone.”

Ledger passed away at the age of 28, before The Dark Knight was even released in 2008, and went on to pick up an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his iconic role in the film.

Many of Ledger’s co-stars have continued to express their sorrow at his loss in recent years, including Paul Bettany, who said last month that he continues to be unable to rewatch A Knight’s Tale because he misses his co-star so much.

Earlier this year, Michael Caine, who played the butler Alfred in The Dark Knight, said he was left “terrified” by Ledger’s performance. “The smeared makeup, the weird hair, the strange voice. It was chilling,” he wrote. “Absolutely floored me the first time I saw him in action – I was terrified”.

The Slow Horses season five final was on October 29, but it has already been commissioned for a sixth season.

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms Dialogues: A Glimpse Into The Past Of Westeros’ Most Iconic Families | Glamsham.com

Westeros fans, rejoice — HBO has finally released the first trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the latest Game of Thrones spin-off. The teaser premiered at a special panel at New York Comic Con, where the cast and author George R.R. Martin attended to talk about the eagerly awaited series.

Coming from Martin’s popular The Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, the show is 100 years prior to Game of Thrones and 100 years after House of the Dragon. The show tracks Ser Duncan the Tall — a simple, chivalrous, and somewhat innocent knight — and his improbable squire, a clever youth known as Egg, who has an unexpected secret.

Former Irish rugby player Peter Claffey plays the part of Ser Duncan, with Dexter Sol Ansell playing Egg. The show takes viewers back to a different time in Westeros, one where the Targaryen rule still holds, and the last dragon has not yet disappeared from living memory.

Unlike its predecessors, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms promises to be lighter. Described as having a “buddy comedy” feel, the show is notable for having more character interactions and personal quests than epic battles. Even Martin has said the series might not please those looking for constant action — but he defends it as one of his favorites.

The all-star cast features Daniel Ings in the role of Ser Lyonel Baratheon, Bertie Carvel playing Baelor Targaryen, Danny Webb as Ser Arlan of Pennytree, Sam Spruell in the role of Maekar Targaryen, and others. With a special combination of heart, humor, and lore-bountiful storytelling, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms may provide a welcome new installment in the Game of Thrones franchise.

Knight of Cups: Netflix streaming underrated Christian Bale starrer this week

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Millions of Christian Bale’s fans around the world know the actor for his classic portrayal of Batman or Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy. But there is one particular movie in the 51-year-old’s filmography that is counted among one of his most underrated works. In 2015, the English actor joined hands with filmmaker Terrence Malick for romance-drama Knight of Cups, which is now available for streaming on Netflix.

Christian Bale in Knight of Cups (2015)

Knight of Cups: What to know?

The plot of the movie revolves around an aimless LA-based screenwriter who is wandering in search of “something missing,” while reflecting on his past relationships, especially with women.

Alongside Christian Bale, the movie features several other A-listers like Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman, Nick Kroll, and Antonio Banderas.

The title of the movie has been taken from a deck of tarot cards, and includes other references like The Moon, The Handman and The Judgement from major and minor arcana of a tarot deck for its characters.

Bale stars as the Knight of Cups in the movie. With no defined structure, it has been divided into 10 parts and has a philosophically rigorous approach, presenting multiple different ideas all at once.

Malick’s filmmaking, critical appreciation

Knight of Cups includes scenes from the protagonist’s dreams, drug experiences, memories and reality, thus creating a mystery for the audiences to unfold while they hold on to their guesses. A reflection of Malick’s personality, Knight of Cups takes an overused premise and gives it a whole new makeover.

Art connoisseurs might find a poetic sense in the tone of the movie. For this major project, Malick was inspired by some religious texts like Christian allegory The Pilgrim’s Progress and a hint of Dante’s mode of expression, thus linking the narrative with a tarot deck. The movie is now streaming on Netflix.

Legacy of Dark Knight Honors 1989 Batman, Arkham Asylum

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

“Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight” pays homage to nearly every incarnation of the Caped Crusader, and a new hands-on demo reveals inspiration pulled from Jack Nicholson’s Joker in the 1989 “Batman” movie and combat from Rocksteady’s popular “Arkham” video games.

Warner Bros. Games unveiled an hour-long demo of the game at New York Comic Con, where the open-world Gotham City and an early level set at Ace Chemicals, better known as the birthplace of the Joker, was shown off. The influence of the “Arkham” games was heavy, from the fluid combat of “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” to the open world of “Arkham City” and reckless Batmobile driving of “Arkham Knight.”

The open world portion of the demo lasted 15 minutes, where you could play as Batman or Commissioner Gordon (modeled after Jeffrey Wright in “The Batman”). Just like in “Arkham Knight,” Batman can launch to the sky with his grappling hook and soar for long distances with his cape. Once you get a hang of the controls, you can easily glide between rooftops and swoop down on Lego thugs committing crimes on the streets. On the ground, you can summon a Batmobile to zoom around the streets and harmlessly crash into Lego fire hydrants, street signs and citizens who will hilariously jump out of the way.

The world and combat feels very similar to “Arkham Knight,” one of the most popular Batman video games of all time that dropped the Caped Crusader into an open-world Gotham to fight many of his iconic foes. Lego Batman can effortlessly glide from foe to foe, linking punches and kicks from one bad guy to the next. Unlike the “Arkham” Batman, who breaks bones and leaves villains mangled, his Lego counterpart uses funny wrestling moves and gadgets to explode enemies in a flurry of bricks.

During the demo, Batman used his trusty batarangs and the bat-claw to dispatch bad guys and solve puzzles. The batarangs could hit long-range targets, while the bat-claw brought far-away enemies to Batman and could yank obstacles off walls. The tools could also be used in Riddler puzzles, another takeaway from the “Arkham” games. The one puzzle I encountered involved flipping a switch and hitting bullseyes on targets within a minute, hardly a challenge for gamers who struggled through the “Arkham” challenges. Commissioner Gordon, who could be controlled by a second player, had a foam pistol and goo gun that could clog up pipes.

Batman and Gordon teamed up to investigate the Red Hood and his gang, who’ve taken over Ace Chemicals during the 45-minute main mission. The duo must sneak around the industrial plant and analyze three packages full of teddy bears filled with a suspicious substance. Just like the “Arkham” games but much more forgiving, Batman can sneak around the area and eliminate crooks stealthily — but there’s not much penalty for getting caught. There’s also a short, simple minigame where you must identify and match chemicals in the teddy bears, similar to the detective mode sections in the “Arkham” games.

After that, the main part of the mission kicks in. Batman and Gordon sneak into Ace Chemicals and face off against Red Hood and his cronies. That includes a super-sized, hulking minifigure that serves as a more powerful enemy type, but if you dodge and time your attacks just right then you shouldn’t have a problem. If you’ve played a “Lego” game before (or any of the “Arkham” series), you’ll breeze through the rest of the level. Beat up bad guys, switch between characters to solve puzzles and smash and build Lego objects to get through the mission. If Batman or Gordon dies, they’ll get reassembled instantly, and soon enough you’ll fight Red Hood.

Batman fans should know how this face-off goes. After they fight above a vat of chemicals, Red Hood finds himself laughing hysterically and dangling for his life while clinging to Batman. The villain quotes Nicholson’s Joker from the 1989 “Batman” movie and asks, “Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?” Instead of pulling himself up, Red Hood shocks the hero with a hand buzzer and falls into the chemicals. As police swarm the plant, Batman disappears in a puff of smoke. However, there’s a teaser that shows Red Hood’s bleached white hand rising above the pool of acidic goo, ready to wreak his revenge on Batman.

After the level, I unlocked a Golden Age costume for Batman and a cowboy-themed look for Gordon. Like previous “Lego” games, “Legacy of the Dark Knight” boasts hundreds of alternate costumes and DC characters to unlock. It’s been more than 10 years since Batman starred in his own “Lego” title, and TT Games and Warner Bros. Games have combined the best elements of past Caped Crusader incarnations into one nostalgia-packed adventure. Fans of all ages will find something to love in “Legacy of the Dark Knight,” releasing next year.

Silksong smashes Hollow Knight peak player count in minutes

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

After many long years in the making, Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally here, and it broke records (and Steam) mere minutes into its launch.

As the most wishlisted game on Steam, perhaps this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Still, we can’t help but be in awe of what the Australian trio behind Team Cherry has managed to pull off.

Perhaps what makes this record even more impressive is that the original Hollow Knight got a new all-time peak player count the day before Silksong launched.

By entering your details you are agreeing to our terms and conditions and privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.

This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

That peak was 72,916 players, according to SteamDB, which is a huge achievement for a 2D indie Metroidvania that released all the way back in 2017.

An impressive figure, though one that can’t compete with Silksong’s numbers.

Hollow Knight: Silksong hit 89,646 players only 20 minutes after the game launched at 3PM BST 4th September 2025, according to SteamDB.

This number will only grow, and we will keep an eye on what the peak player count ends up being.

As Silksong wasn’t available for pre-order, the number of people scrambling to buy it and install the game managed to crash Steam, with SteamDB going down with the ship too.

Seeing as Silksong released quite early for US players and late in the day in Asia and Oceania, we may see some significant peaks and troughs, and it could be that only by the weekend, we’ll be able to witness Hollow Knight: Silksong’s true power.

Time will only tell, but we can’t wait for the dust to settle so that we can get a proper measure of how the hugely anticipated title performed – and if it has met players’ expectations.

No review code was made available, so players will be making a leap of faith. Make sure to check back in on RadioTimes.com for review roundups and post-launch coverage!

Is Hollow Knight: Silksong a sequel or prequel?

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

We all know the name like the back of our hands by now, but is Hollow Knight: Silksong a sequel or a prequel?

The long-awaited follow-up to Team Cherry’s hit 2017 metroidvania is out this month. If you’re wondering whether you need to play Hollow Knight first, it might be helpful to know which game comes first in their shared world’s chronology.

So, is Silksong a sequel? Is Silksong a prequel? Let’s get into it!

Is Hollow Knight: Silksong a sequel or prequel?

According to Team Cherry developers, Hollow Knight: Silksong is a sequel that takes place after the events of Hollow Knight.

While there has been quite a lot of speculation about this, information has been surprisingly scant online. The answer actually comes from a since-deleted blog post from Team Cherry.

In fact, the blog post was the very one in which the team first revealed Silksong to the public. It stated: “Hollow Knight: Silksong is the second game by Team Cherry (that’s us!) and the full-scale sequel to Hollow Knight.”

By entering your details you are agreeing to our terms and conditions and privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.

This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

It goes on to confirm that Silksong originally started life as a DLC, but “it quickly became too large and too unique to stay as a DLC”, prompting the decision to turn it into its own standalone game.

Incidentally, this is one of the many reasons why Silksong took so long to make.

So, there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth. While we know that Silksong is a sequel to Hollow Knight, what we don’t know is how directly the two will be linked.

Whether Silksong directly picks up where Hollow Knight left off or chooses to tell a separate story, building upon the events of the first game remains to be seen.

We’ll just have to wait and see what Team Cherry has planned when the game finally launches this week.

Awesome Trailer for ‘LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’ Game

“I need to become more than a man… I need to become – a symbol.” TT Games has launched the official trailer for a video game called LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight arriving sometime in 2026 next year. FS usually doesn’t cover video games, but we’re making an exception this once – because this game is directly connected to all of the Batman movies over the years. They already made The Lego Batman Movie back in 2017, as well as the Lego Batman: The Videogame in 2008, with many game sequels over the years. It’s an open world game that begins with a young Bruce Wayne training under the League of Shadows and follows his transformation into Gotham City’s protector. Players will team up with iconic allies such as Jim Gordon, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul, while facing down the Dark Knight’s most infamous Rogues Gallery, including The Joker, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Bane, Ra’s al Ghul. DC’s Jim Lee praised the project as a “love letter to Batman’s legacy.” This trailer features recognizable shots recreated in the LEGO Batman game style from the movies Nolan’s Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, Matt Reeves’ The Batman, Burton’s Batman & Batman Returns, and everything related to The Caped Crusader. Check it out.

Description via TT Games: “LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a brand-new open world action-adventure videogame that invites players to embark on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City, inspired by decades of Batman films, television, comic books, and games, and jam-packed with Batman nostalgia, DC lore, and TT Games’ signature brand of fun-filled LEGO humor.” The LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight video game is created by TT Games (also creators of the best-selling LEGO games franchise which has sold over 200 million units worldwide, including LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga) and distributed by Warner Bros. Games. The game will be available on PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam & Epic Games Store). The LEGO Batman series was originally introduced in 2006 as a toy line, eventually becoming an animated series after Batman was featured in The LEGO Movie in 2014 (and his own movie later). LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will feature seven playable characters, including Batman, Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, Talia al Ghul. The video game will be available starting sometime in 2026. For more info & updates, visit the official site.
