KISS, Not Yet Holograms, Reunite For First Show Since Farewell Tour

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Two years ago, KISS’ final farewell tour ended at New York’s Madison Square Garden, but it was understood that they were leaving the door open for one-offs and residencies, in addition to the promised hologram era that begins in 2027. This past March, the band announced unmasked, makeup-free live shows, as part of a three-day event called KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas, and the first went down last night.

Friday was the acoustic set. They handed out electric candles and opened with a moment of silence for Ace Frehley who passed away last month, and had other tributes for the late guitarist. The group performed “Hard Luck Woman” and “Hide Your Heart” for the first time since 2019.

A KISS subredditor (though unclear if an attendee) was unimpressed with that acoustic set: “Talk about phoning it in. Same boring stuff they always do at these acoustic type shows that they’ve done for years. Hide Your Heart is the only thing halfway approaching something they haven’t done to death at these kind of events.”

The electric set is tonight, and there are also panels and other bands. The $4909-tier tickets (which include hotel stay) all sold out, but it’s unclear if anyone will get to be Gene Simmons’ roadie.

Watch “A World Without Heroes,” KISS’ 1981 ballad co-written by Lou Reed, performed by the reunited final lineup of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer below.

KISS Honor Ace Frehley at First Show in Two Years

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

KISS played their first show in two years on Friday, and paid tribute to founding guitarist Ace Frehley, who sadly passed away last month as the result of injuries sustained at a fall at his studio.

The full KISS lineup — Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer — performed an unmasked acoustic set at their “KISS Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas” event in Sin City, marking their first performance since ending their farewell tour in December 2023.

Prior to the band launching into its first song, Stanley addressed the audience, saying, “Before we get going, we just wanted to take a moment to think about somebody who is at the foundation of this band. And we’re talking about Ace. So, we certainly had differences, but that’s what family is about. And why don’t we take a moment, a little quiet, to think about him looking down on us — from [the planet] Jendell, probably — and let’s have a moment for Ace. Candles up.”

A number of fans in the audience then held up battery-operated candles that were presumably handed out to them prior to the show.

KISS proceeded to play an 11-song set consisting of a number of deep cuts. The band will take the stage again at “KISS Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas” to play a full-on electric set on Saturday, but once again will be unmasked.

Watch KISS pay tribute to Ace Frehley, and perform their first show in two years, below.

Setlist:
Comin’ Home (preceded by Ace Frehley tribute)
See You Tonite (Gene Simmons song)

Hard Luck Woman (first performance since 2019)

Watch KISS perform candlelit tribute to Ace Frehley at first “unmasked” show

by jummy84 November 15, 2025

KISS paid tribute to the late Ace Frehley at their first “unmasked” show on the ‘KISS Kruise’ last night – watch footage of the moment below.

The guitarist and founding member of the group died in Morristown, New Jersey, on October 16. He was 74 years old.

A statement shared at the time revealed that Ace – also known as Spaceman – died “peacefully surrounded by family” following “a recent fall at his home”. An investigation was then launched into Frehley’s death, and the results of a medical examination have since been shared, ruling his death an accident.

Following news of his passing, KISS played their first show in nearly two years on Friday (November 14), with the outdoor unplugged gig launching the ‘Kiss Kruise: Land-Locked in Vegas’ weekend, marking the first time the veteran rockers have joined forces onstage since 2023’s farewell tour.

Ahead of the show, electric candles were handed out to the audience, and upon taking the stage, Paul Stanley asked the crowd to lift them in the air and take a moment to “think about somebody who is at the foundation of this band”.

“We’re talking about Ace,” he said. “We certainly had differences, but that’s what family is about. Why don’t we take a moment [and] think about him looking down on us” from the fictional planet “Jendell, probably”, which Ace often referred to as his home.

“Let’s have a moment for Ace.”

KISS played:

‘Comin’ Home’
‘See You Tonite’
‘A World Without Heroes’
‘Hard Luck Woman’
‘Christine Sixteen’
‘Nothin’ to Lose’
‘Goin’ Blind’
‘Hide Your Heart’
‘Plaster Caster’
‘Beth’
‘Love Her All I Can’

The guitarist co-founded KISS in 1973 with singer Paul Stanley, bassist and part-time singer Gene Simmons and drummer Peter Criss. After nearly a decade, Frehley had left the band to pursue a solo career, coupled with his struggles with substance abuse and rising tension within the band about their direction.

In the years following his exit from KISS, Frehley formed a new band, Frehley’s Comet, and he would rejoin KISS for their reunion in 1996 – staying with them until 2002. He did not join them for their farewell world tour in 2022. Among the songs Ace helped write for KISS were classics like ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You’, ‘Rock And Roll All Nite’, ‘Detroit Rock City’, ‘Love Gun’ and more.

Among the names names who have paid tribute to Frehley include Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Nile Rodgers, Steve Vai, John 5, Rush, Alice Cooper, and more.

Following Frehley’s passing, a Change.org petition was launched in an effort to convince NASA to award the guitarist with honorary astronaut status. The petition – started by a fan named Kathryn – has since received over 3,000 signatures and counting.

KISS Announce Massive 50th Anniversary ‘Alive!’ Box Set

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

KISS, technically, retired this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still rock and roll all night with the greasepaint and pyro legends. The band announced the upcoming release of a huge box set celebrating the 50th anniversary of their landmark Alive! concert album.

See latest videos, charts and news

The Super Deluxe version of the album will feature 4 CDs + Blu-Ray audio, an Alive! track list t-shirt with 120 tracks, including 88 previously unreleased tracks. The first CD features the original album on one disc for the first time ever, newly remastered from the original 1975 stereo analog master tapes. In addition, CDs two and three will feature two full-length concerts from the 1975 Dressed to Kill tour at the RKO Orpheum Theatre in Davenport, Iowa on July 20, and the Wildwood Convention Hall in Wildwood, N.J. on July 23, newly remixed by the legendary engineer Eddie Kramer from the original multi-track analog tapes with no overdbubs.

The fourth CD will pull together five rehearsal tracks from the Davenport show, including an impromptu jam and another six songs from Cleveland Music Hall in Cleveland, Ohio on June 21, 1975, remixed by Kramer from the original multi-track recordings. The Blu-Ray audio disc will contain a new Alive! mix from Kramer from the original album multi-track analog tapes in Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround, as well as newly remastered stereo in 192 KHZ 24-bit and 96 KHZ 24-bit PCM stereo set to a new visualizer with unreleased photos and tape box images.

The Super Deluxe version ($400.48) has a number of other extras, including a 100-page hardcover book with extensive liner notes by Ken Sharp and new interviews with singer/guitarist Paul Stanley, bassist/singer Gene Simmons and other notable Alive!-era KISS team members, as well as a number of unreleased photos and rare images. In addition, it will fold in an Alive! 1975 press kit with: four black and white glossy photos, an Alive! tour program, album cover lenticular, t-shirt iron-on, four live color glossy photos, a Peter Criss drum head litho, a number of concert posters, ticket stubs and backstage passes, coasters, guitar picks, bumper stickers and a track-by-track interview with Kramer discussing nearly all the tracks in the collection.

The anniversary edition will also come in a 4-CD box set version with a t-shirt ($287.55), a deluxe picture disc edition with sweatshirt ($251.89) and a premium color vinyl version with a sweatshirt ($125.98). All the editions are slated to ship on Nov. 21, with Kiss Army members eligible for pre-order now here.

Alive! was KISS’ fourth album and their first live LP, as well as a kind of standard-bearer for live rock albums going forward. Though they’d released three albums by that point, the band rose to a new level of fame thanks to the double concert album that collected songs from the theatrical group’s 1974 self-titled debut, as well as that year’s Hotter Than Hell and 1975’s Dressed To Kill, including such future stone-cold live staples as “Deuce,” “Strutter,” “Firehouse,” “Black Diamond,” Cold Gin” and “Rock and Roll All Nite.” (Click here for a taste of Sharp’s extensive history of the making of Alive!)

The album features the indelible work of late founding guitarist Ace Frehley, who died last month at the age of 74 following injuries from a fall in the studio. Frehley will become only the third person to receive the Kennedy Center Honor posthumously when KISS collect the award at a ceremony slated to tape on Dec. 7 and air on CBS on Dec. 23.

Lawsuit Over Kiss Guitar Tech’s Covid Death Officially Over

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

The wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of the Kiss guitar tech who died from Covid-19 while quarantining on the band’s End of the Road World Tour in 2021 ended Wednesday with an official dismissal by the court. The family previously filed a notice of “conditional settlement” involving the band and concert promoter Live Nation, but the court set a hearing for Friday, Nov. 7 to check on the status of the pact. That hearing was cancelled on Wednesday.

No terms of the private settlement were released. Stueber’s widow, Catherine, and lawyers on both sides did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday. Francis Stueber, 53, worked as the guitar tech for Kiss co-founder Paul Stanley for 20 years before his death on Oct. 17, 2021, Stanley previously confirmed in a social media post.

My dear friend, buddy and guitar tech for 20 years, Fran Stueber died yesterday suddenly of Covid. Both on and offstage I depended on him for so much. My family loved him as did I. He was so proud of his wife and 3 boys as they were of him. I’m numb. pic.twitter.com/RvwUGpFt0X

— Paul Stanley (@PaulStanleyLive) October 17, 2021

Catherine and several family members filed the underlying lawsuit against Stanley, his Kiss co-founder Gene Simmons, and Kiss’ longtime manager Doc McGee in October 2023, alleging negligence and wrongful death. Live Nation was also named as a defendant.

Stueber died two days after he was “abandoned” alone in a “random hotel room” as his conditions worsened, the lawsuit alleged. It said the band had “absolutely no recommendation, information, policies, procedures, or safety measures of any kind” in place to deal with staff who contracted Covid-19 on the road.

The lawsuit followed nearly two years after a Rolling Stone investigation detailed claims from several Kiss roadies who claimed lax Covid-19 protocols contributed to Stueber’s death. The roadies said the band didn’t regularly test the crew and that several crew workers fell ill with the virus before Stueber died.

“I couldn’t believe how unsafe it was, and that we were still going,” one roadie told Rolling Stone at the time. “We’d been frustrated for weeks, and by the time Fran died, I just thought, ‘You have to be fucking kidding me.’”

The band refuted the allegations, saying its safety protocols “met, but most often exceeded, federal, state, and local guidelines.” It said, “ultimately this is still a global pandemic and there is simply no foolproof way to tour without some element of risk.”

In his post mourning Stueber’s death, Stanley called the guitar tech his “dear friend.” He said the death was sudden. “Both on and offstage I depended on him for so much. My family loved him as did I. He was so proud of his wife and 3 boys as they were of him. I’m numb,” he wrote.

Trending Stories

Kiss previously settled a related wrongful termination lawsuit brought by the band’s longtime wig stylist. In that case, plaintiff David Mathews said he was with the band in Illinois in October 2021 when Stueber started showing severe Covid-19 symptoms. Mathews claimed he alerted McGhee to Stueber’s dire condition, but no “timely” action was taken.

When Kiss Becomes Culture: Enrique Iglesias, Udit Narayan And India’s Uneven Lens On Celebrity Intimacy

by jummy84 October 31, 2025
written by jummy84

Spanish pop sensation Enrique Iglesias may have kicked off his India tour with a roar in Mumbai, but it was not the vocals that drew attention — it was a kiss. A viral clip from the opening night shows the singer sharing a rather prolonged lip kiss with an excited fangirl on stage, an act that has since triggered a quiet murmur of reflection rather than outrage. It was, by all accounts, a moment charged with adoration, thrill, and the signature flamboyance Enrique brings to his performances. Yet, the absence of collective moral policing over the act — especially in a country known for its swift outrage — is what stands out most.

The same India that once balked when veteran playback singer Udit Narayan kissed an award show host on stage seems, this time, to have shrugged off the moment with global acceptance. The contrast reveals something telling about the evolving — and perhaps uneven — moral compass of celebrity culture in India. When Narayan’s brief peck made headlines years ago, it was treated almost as a breach of cultural decorum. The conversation was not about intent or context, but propriety. Fast forward to Enrique’s concert, and the conversation isn’t about right or wrong at all — it’s about spectacle.

Enrique, who has long carried a stage persona built on romance and intimacy, has performed similar gestures with fans worldwide — kisses, hugs, and the occasional dance-floor swirl. For Indian audiences, this was perhaps a long-awaited glimpse into the raw theatre of Western pop culture, brought to life right before their eyes. But beneath the cheers lies an unspoken acceptance: that when intimacy comes wrapped in an accent and global stardom, it feels less transgressive, even charming.

Enrique Iglesias Instagram Post

Western Pop Culture V/S Indian Pop Culture

This double standard is not new. Indian pop culture has often separated what’s “acceptable” from the West and what’s “inappropriate” at home. The same audience that squirmed at Udit Narayan’s harmless kiss or trolled other Indian celebrities for public displays of affection seemed to interpret Enrique’s act as a sign of charisma and connection. It wasn’t scandal — it was seduction as performance.

What makes this difference starker is how both moments unfolded under the same cultural sky. Udit Narayan’s gesture — a moment of warmth, even clumsy affection — was dissected for crossing a line. Enrique’s, meanwhile, was celebrated as a hallmark of fan engagement. The singer, dressed in his casual black tee and cap, barely hesitated before the fan leaned in, their kiss lasting long enough to blur the line between surprise and intent. Cameras flashed, the crowd roared, and the moment was sealed into social media eternity — without much moral commentary.

This isn’t to say India has suddenly abandoned its conservative streak. Rather, it has learned to selectively suspend it. The incident underscores how global exposure and celebrity hierarchies can reshape moral interpretations. The foreign performer becomes a vessel of cultural aspiration, a kind of acceptable exception. What feels too bold for Indian stars becomes perfectly palatable when delivered through a Western lens — a reminder that admiration often rewrites boundaries faster than reason does.

Also Read:Emraan Hashmi Slams Toxic Masculinity: ‘Men Thinking ‘We’ll Do Whatever We Can’ Costs Women Their Dignity’

There’s also the matter of power dynamics on stage. In both cases — Narayan and Enrique — the act wasn’t coerced. But one was seen as overreach, the other as a dream come true. The distinction isn’t about gender or consent; it’s about the narratives audiences construct around who holds the right to intimacy in public. An Indian singer doing it appears indulgent; a global icon doing it looks romantic.

For India’s entertainment landscape, this moment is more than tabloid fodder. It’s an opportunity to examine how globalisation is quietly reshaping the nation’s moral lens. Western pop stars are often granted immunity under the pretext of performance art — their actions seen as extensions of their artistic identity. But Indian artists are still expected to embody restraint, their reputations tied to social respectability.

Enrique’s Mumbai kiss, therefore, is less about scandal and more about symbolism. It represents how India continues to negotiate modernity through borrowed gestures — accepting the global stage’s freedoms selectively while demanding restraint from its own. The camera captured more than a kiss; it revealed a country still learning how to separate admiration from inhibition, and art from morality.

Rock Luminaries Salute KISS’ Ace Frehley

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Rock stars from throughout the past 50 years have joined to pay tribute to influential KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, who died yesterday (Oct. 16) at the age of 74. The musician suffered a brain injury after falling in his recording studio last month and had been breathing with the aid of a ventilator in recent days.

“Our hearts are broken,” wrote KISS bandmate Gene Simmons. “Ace has passed on. No one can touch Ace’s legacy. I know he loved the fans. He told me many times. Sadder still, Ace didn’t live long enough to be honored at the Kennedy Center Honors event in December. Ace was the eternal rock soldier. Long may his legacy live on!”

“With a broken heart and deep, deep sadness, my brother Ace Frehley has passed away,” said KISS drummer Peter Criss. “He died peacefully with his family around him. My wife and I were with him to the end as well. I love you my brother. My love and prayers go out to Jeanette, Monique, Charlie and Nancy and all of Ace’s extended family, bandmates, fans and friends. May the Lord comfort you at this difficult time. As a founding member of the rock group KISS and in Ace’s solo career, Ace influenced and touch the hearts of millions of people. His legacy will live on in the music industry and in the hearts of the KISS Army. At this time I ask all of you to please be respectful to Ace’s family and allow them to grieve privately. To the KISS Army and Ace’s Rock Soldiers, my heart is with you all… Broken.”

“All my friends have spent untold hours talking about KISS and buying KISS stuff,” said Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready. “Ace was a hero of mine and also I would consider a friend. I studied his solos endlessly over the years. Just listen to ‘Alive’ — I used his solo from ‘She’ as a template. Ace jammed on ‘Black Diamond’ with Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden — a dream come true for me. I would not have picked up a guitar without Ace and KISS’s influence.”

“Absolutely stunned and saddened by the news Ace Frehley has tragically passed away,” said Rush’s Geddy Lee. “Back in 1974, as the opening act for KISS, Alex, Neil [Peart] and myself spent many a night hanging out together in his hotel room after shows, doing whatever nonsense we could think of, just to make him break out his inimitable and infectious laugh. He was an undeniable character and an authentic rock star. RIP Ace. Thanks for welcoming us newbies into the rock’n’roll world.

“My first guitar hero, Ace Frehley, has passed away,” wrote Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello. “The legendary Space Ace Frehley inspired generations to love rock’n’roll and love rock’n’roll guitar playing. His timeless riffs and solos, the billowing smoke coming from his Les Paul, the rockets shooting from his headstock, his cool spacey onstage wobble and his unforgettable crazy laugh will be missed but will never be forgotten. Thank you, Ace for a lifetime of great music and memories.”

“Ace was the first person I met when we were forming Chic,” wrote the group’s leader, Nile Rodgers. “KISS were playing at a spot called Le Jardin. Without his makeup, nobody recognized him as he sat at my table. Only a few minutes before, the crowd were losing their shit over him. I learned a lot that night. Truly historic.”

Added guitarist Steve Vai, “Ace Frehley was the embodiment of rock’n’roll attitude — unapologetic, loud and irresistibly catchy. His riffs had swagger, his tone had bite and his presence lit up stages like a supernova. The Spaceman has left the stage, but his orbit will shine forever.”

Shriya Saran’s Husband Gets Lucky With A Kiss At Ramesh Taurani’s Diwali Bash! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Bollywood’s festive season commenced on a glamorous note as Ramesh Taurani, a producer, hosted his much anticipated yearly Diwali bash in Mumbai. The VIP event had some of the biggest names in the industry rubbing shoulders and dressing up for the occasion.

The evening’s most talked-about moment was actress Shriya Saran, who turned heads not only with her radiant looks but with a candle-lit romanced scene which went viral. Dazzling in a sparkling golden saree and fitted blouse, Shriya gave her husband a gentle peck on the cheek, with him looking dignified in a cream kurta-pajama. The moment trended on social media, with fans flooding comment sections with heart emojis and appreciation of the couple.

Also hogging all the limelight were Saba Azad and Hrithik Roshan, walking hand in hand, oozing charm and poise. Hrithik looked suave in an all-black satin ensemble, while Saba shone bright in a highly embellished gold-beige sharara, making them one of the best-dressed couples of the evening.

Ibrahim Ali Khan and his rumoured girlfriend Palak Tiwari made headlines as they posed together, giving rise to dating rumours. Ibrahim was dashing in a black sequined Indo-Western outfit with a V-neck kurta which plunged deep, while Palak sparkled in a multi-hued lehenga choli, exuding festive appeal.

Pulkit Samrat and Kriti Kharbanda, popular on-screen jodi, were also in the spotlight. Pulkit was dressed in an uber cool Indo-Western attire, while Kriti looked heavenly in an off-white saree with a show-stoppingly stylish designer blouse.

Jacqueline Fernandez went vintage cuteness in a traditional red saree and Sonakshi Sinha arrived with husband Zaheer Iqbal, both dressed in impeccably coordinated festive attire.

The bash was a visual treat, with a mixed crowd of film and TV celebrities present, including David Dhawan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Karishma Tanna, Anushka Ranjan, Amyra Dastur, Mandira Bedi, Rasika Dugal, and Elnaaz Nourozi, and thus one of the most memorable parties of the season

Ace’s KISS bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley released a joint public statement, obtained by Variety, which read, “We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. I remember 1974 being in my room at the Hyatt on Sunset in LA and I heard someone playing deep and fiery guitar in the room next door. I thought “Boy, I wish THAT guy was in the band!” I looked over the balcony… He was. It was Ace. This is my favorite photo of us… pic.twitter.com/3ojMXqVkQr

Paul wrote a separate tribute to his late bandmate in an X post alongside a black-and-white photo that featured Ace.

“I remember 1974 being in my room at the Hyatt on Sunset in L.A., and I heard someone playing deep and fiery guitar in the room next door,” Paul tweeted. “I thought ‘Boy, I wish THAT guy was in the band!’ I looked over the balcony… He was. It was Ace. This is my favorite photo of us…”

I heard about Ace Frehley‘s passing from Rick Friel who I played with in a band called Shadow. Rick was also the first guy on the bus in 1977 with a KISS lunchbox to tell me about Ace…just changed my life. I got a guitar in 1978… pic.twitter.com/0oULzn0A5H

Mike McCready of Pearl Jam penned a touching tribute via X, calling the late KISS co-founder his “hero.”

“I heard about Ace Frehley‘s passing from Rick Friel who I played with in a band called Shadow,” Mike began. “Rick was also the first guy on the bus in 1977 with a KISS lunchbox to tell me about Ace…just changed my life. I got a guitar in 1978 to join Rick‘s band Warrior which turned into Shadow. We covered ‘C’mon and Love Me.’ All my friends have spent untold hours talking about KISS and buying KISS stuff. Ace was a hero of mine and also I would consider a friend. I studied his solos endlessly over the years… Just listen to ‘Alive,’ I used his solo from ‘She’ as a template. Ace jammed on ‘Black Diamond’ with Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden…a dream come true for me. I would not have picked up a guitar without Ace and KISS’s influence. RIP it out Ace, you changed my life. Thank you. – Mike.”
