bitchy | Keanu Reeves on rumors that he’s married: people sent a lot of nice messages

Keanu Reeves has a new movie out called Good Fortune. It costars Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, Sandra Oh, and Keke Palmer. He’s also currently doing a Broadway revival of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot with his Bill and Ted co-star Alex Winter. As such, he’s been on a big PR blitz lately. Keanu has no online presence and tends to disappear from the public eye when he’s not promoting anything, so it’s been a treat to get so many new interviews and soundbites.

One of the biggest things Keanu keeps getting asked about is the prevalence of AI-generated deepfake images and scammers using his likeness. Because he has no social media accounts, Keanu is one of the most-imitated stars and has to pay a company to combat scams by removing fake accounts and AI images. A few weeks ago, a fake picture of Keanu and his longtime girlfriend Alexandra Grant made its way around the internet. It showed them in wedding attire and announced that they’d gotten married. Both Alexandra and Keanu’s rep issued statements to deny it. While on the Today show, Keanu brushed it off because ”we’re in that world”. Well, the picture looked real enough that it fooled a lot of people. At the Good Fortune premiere, Keanu shared that the rumors don’t bother him and that he got a lot of “nice messages” from people.

“Well, that wasn’t the first time,” he joked to E! News about rumors circulating that the pair are married. “We’ve been going out for a long time.”

Reeves’ comments come weeks after Grant, 52, reacted to the rumors on Instagram, calling them “fake news.” Alongside a photo of the couple kissing on a staircase, she wrote on Sept. 24, “This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss! (Albeit maybe the moment right before or after it… given the slightly goofy expressions on our faces!).”

“I’m sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married,” the visual artist continued. “Good news is much needed these days, but it’s still fake news, so be careful out there! So, here’s a bit of real happiness!”

Reeves told E! News that Grant “did a wonderful [job]” setting the record straight.

“The wedding, it’s a nice thing,” he said. “People did a lot of nice messages and stuff, but Alexandra just did a wonderful [job] addressing. Like, ‘Thank you, but here’s the reality.’ “

[From People]

Of course people were going to send Keanu nice messages! He’s one of the most beloved actors alive and is widely regarded as one of the nicest people on the planet. I hate that people don’t leave him and Alexandra alone, but at least in this case, he got to feel the love. I wonder if he received a bunch of congratulatory text messages from friends since that’s the only way people could send them to him directly. I’m sure Alexandra also received tons of well wishes and shared them with him. I can’t imagine how stressful it is to be famous in a world where people can just make stuff up about you and back it up by using deepfake AI images. Being so chill about it is such a classic Keanu response, but I suppose he really is used to it by now.

Keanu and Alex were on The Tonight Show on Monday night. Stephen Colbert, who paid tribute to the late Diane Keaton earlier in the show and aired clips of a 2012 interview he’d done with her, asked Keanu to share any fond memories he had of working with her on Something’s Gotta Give. Keanu called her “an extraordinary, unique, special person and artist” and talked about how much he loved watching Diane and Jack Nicholson film that scene where they insult each other. It was a really nice moment.

Keanu Reeves on Alexandra Grant, Marriage Rumors

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Keanu Reeves has had some good fortune when it comes to his love life.

So much so that he and girlfriend Alexandra Grant even sparked marriage rumors last month, though she was quick to clarify on social media that the couple hasn’t made it down the aisle. Still, the Matrix star admitted the speculation didn’t bother him too much.

“Well, that wasn’t the first time,” Keanu quipped in an exclusive interview with E! News Oct. 13 at the New York City premiere of his new movie Good Fortune. “We’ve been going out for a long time.”

The 61-year-old also praised Alexandra—who he started dating in 2018—for the Instagram post she shared to quell the rumors.

“The wedding, it’s a nice thing,” he continued. “People did a lot of nice messages and stuff, but Alexandra just did a wonderful [job] addressing. Like, ‘Thank you, but here’s the reality.’”

Indeed, the visual artist had some fun when letting the world know that she and the John Wick actor had not, in fact, gotten married.

Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter Star on Broadway

by jummy84 September 29, 2025

Forget the tree.

That iconic lone tree from the stage directions in Samuel Beckett’s tragicomic masterwork “Waiting for Godot” is offstage in Jamie Lloyd’s re-envisioned revival. The polarizing British director who has placed his conceptual stamp on “A Doll’s House,” “Sunset Boulevard” and “Evita,” again challenges the norms in his latest production, taking on the master of ambiguity, absurdity and minimalism — but with mixed results.

Though Lloyd supplants Beckett’s bleak and barren setting with something brighter, cleaner and cosmic — but minus any “Sunset Boulevard”-style video flourishes this go-round — the play’s existential angst in an irrational world remains as powerful as ever — and perhaps more attractive to new audiences due to the casting.

This New York revival is driven by the star power of Keanu Reeves (of the “The Matrix” and “John Wick” film series), who is making a respectable Broadway bow. Joining him in this earnest project as Beckett’s Sisyphean vagabonds is Reeves’ longtime bud, Alex Winter, his goofball bro from the loopy time-traveling “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” films which began in 1989 (the year of Beckett’s death).

This return match-up (“Together again at last!”) has turned the playwright’s vaudevillian clowns into comics of a cooler sort. If not stoner dudes — they are, after all, both 60ish now — they’re more like go-with-the-flow buds with their own relaxed rhythms, encircling speech patterns and genuine bond. Though the two actors have a kind of slacker ease in the nonsensical volleys, this lower temperature approach too often misses the work’s humor, horror and emotional resonance.

With scraggly hair and beard and a dazed countenance of man waking up from an unspeakable dream, Reeves brings the tender vulnerability to his Estrogen (aka Gogo). Sometimes with his arms tightly folded in full pout or for protection, sometimes in a fearful fetal position as if protecting himself from the unknown, he’s a man-child lost in time, space and memory. But the sense of the poet that Gogo once was is absent here — and Gogo needs to be a soul worth saving.

However, Winter’s unbowed Vladimir (aka Didi) is. He’s clearly the driver here as the duo patiently and impatiently wait for the mysterious Godot to arrive. Didi considers his tasks to be: staying the course, keeping the faith, buoying his buddy, and clinging to hope, despite a hopeless loop of disappointments and deferrals.

Winter’s face has the weathered look of a person whose struggles for survival in a cruel and violent world have taken its toll. In the end his Didi hangs by a thread as he movingly faces the void, realizing that taking it one day at a time is a life sentence he can barely endure and yet he does.

And about that void: Beckett’s country road is replaced here with a giant spiral structure that encompasses the stage, designed by Soutra Gilmour. It’s a stunning and glistening setting — perhaps it’s an ivory pipeline to the universe or maybe the eye of God or whatever one projects. Though shocking at first sight for this play’s familiar landscape, it also feels thematically fitting.

Jon Clark’s no-place-to-hide lighting unnervingly brightens Beckett’s shadowy world but without losing its sense of dread, allowing both light and dark at the end of this infinite tunnel. The actors also make great physical use of the epic curvature, comically sliding, slipping and cradling themselves to sleep though they’re more often than not swallowed up in the setting that severely limits the playing field.

Breaking into the duo’s static world are Brandon J. Dirden as the pompous interloper Pozzo and Michael Patrick Thornton as his almost-silent, strangely masked slave Lucky.  Dirden brings many colors to the indulgent bombast of this self-centered sociopath, his fascistic brutality disguised as hollow civility. He’s repellent but Dirden makes it so we can’t take our eyes off him.

But Lloyd’s awkward staging here and questionable affectations (including an audience clap-along) makes Pozzo’s relationship with Lucky unfocused and puzzling. Beckett’s symbols of master and slave — the whip, the rope, the servant weighed down with baggage — are either mimed or cut and in doing so lose its real horror.

Thornton uses a wheelchair, and here his Lucky is guided by his tormentor. But the character’s state of servitude is largely hidden in clumsy blocking. Thornton, however, is magnificent in Lucky’s epic “thinking” tirade, a babbling aria with its own inner logic.

Zaynn Arora as the boy messenger (Eric Williams in alternate performances) who delivers the news of  Godot’s postponement is suitably fragile, fearful and haunting.

One might also wonder what Beckett — whose strict oversight of productions was legendary — would make of Reeves and Winter’s air-guitar riff, echoing the duo’s signature stance from their film partnership. (Robin Williams also tossed pop-culture references into a 1988 production in which he was paired with Steve Martin.) Certainly many in the audience love it. Purists not so much — but this production is clearly not meant for them.

Still, as a resigned Didi says, “the essential doesn’t change.” Whether on stages in post-war Europe, a hall in San Quentin, or on a pandemic Zoom, Beckett’s wandering refugees and their desperate need to be seen as they search for meaning, purpose and hope continue to find fresh relevance. In the current dystopia, this evergreen play and provocative production may just be worth the wait.

Alexandra Grant’s love story with Keanu Reeves goes back about 15 years. The artist’s fateful meeting with the John Wick star at a dinner party in 2009 led to nearly a decade of work collaborations, a love for art and books, and a friendship that all culminated into their red carpet debut as a couple at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles on November 2, 2019. Keanu’s decision to bring a plus-one  — that wasn’t a relative or friend — was a big one. The actor (publicly) remained a bachelor for a long time after the tragic delivery of his stillborn daughter Ava Archer Syme-Reeves in 1999, which was shortly followed by a car accident that cost the life of the child’s mother and Keanu’s former girlfriend, actress Jennifer Syme, in 2001.

Two decades later, Keanu has found happiness. However, the blossoming romance between Alexandra and Keanu was already apparent after they were seen holding hands at the Saint Laurent Mens Spring Summer 20 Show in Malibu on June 6, 2019. The couple have also become the subject of marriage rumors since they’ve been together for years, but Alexandra was able to squash that speculation in 2025.

Here’s what you should know about Alexandra, the woman who has captured The Internet Boyfriend’s heart after all this time.

Text & Language Inspires Alexandra’s Art

Alexandra is described as “a text-based artist who uses language and networks of words as the basis for her work in painting, drawing and sculpture,” according to the Ochi Gallery’s introduction for Alexandra. The talented artist fostered her love for the spoken word as a child, since she grew up in a variety of countries: Mexico, Spain and France.

Alexandra’s Work Has Been Showcased In Prestigious Museums

Alexandra’s art has been put on display in the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles, the Contemporary Museum in Baltimore, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Galerie Gradiva in Paris, the The Broad Museum at Michigan State University, and the Harris Lieberman Gallery in New York City, just to name a few!

Keanu Is One Of Alexandra’s Longtime Collaborators

Their relationship, professional at first, began with books! Alexandra contributed the illustrations for Keanu’s first book, a grown-up picture book called Ode To Happiness, that was published in 2011. She also lent a hand to illustrate Keanu’s poetry book, Shadows, released in 2015.

Alexandra & Keanu Run A Publishing Company Together

The publishing company, called X Artists’ Books, launched in the summer of 2017. Deviating from mainstream imprints, the company focuses on “unusual collaborations” and books that “don’t really have a place because they’re between genres,” which the business partners explained in an interview with Los Angeles Magazine in Feb. 2018. The interviewer noted that they shared an “easy rapport” and spoke “in a comfortable shorthand fueled by inside jokes and knowing smiles” — foreshadowing, is it not?

Alexandra Is Active In Philanthropy

She founded the grantLOVE project in 2008, which sells a variety of products from hoodies, screen prints to neon signs to raise funds for other artists’ projects and non-profits!

Trailer #3 for ‘Good Fortune’ – Keanu Reeves’ Guardian Angel Comedy

“I’m fired?!” “You’re human… Uh oh, he’s going to learn some lessons… Lionsgate has debuted another new trailer for the comedy Good Fortune, written and directed by Aziz Ansari, directing his first film after eps of “Master of None”. This is hitting theaters in October soon if anyone wants to watch. A well-meaning but rather inept angel named “Gabriel” meddles with the lives of a struggling gig worker and a wealthy VC. He takes a liking to a simple gig worker named Arj who sometimes does tasks for the very wealthy Jeff. He makes them trade places to understand money won’t solve problems, but when it does solve Arj’s problems, he loses his wings and must join them down on Earth as their roommate. There’s likely a few third act twists where it’s not all okay, but you have to watch to find out. Keanu Reeves stars as the angel Gabriel, along with Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, plus Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Stephen McKinley Henderson, too. This premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival – all of these quotes comes from reviews at the fest. So far, so good. This seems like it should be a fun comedy with this great cast making us laugh for a few hours.

Here’s the third official trailer for Aziz Ansari’s comedy Good Fortune, from Lionsgate’s YouTube:

Good Fortune Trailer

You can rewatch the teaser for Aziz Ansari’s comedy Good Fortune right here and the full trailer here.

Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) is a “budget guardian angel” named Gabriel. One day, he notices a man down on his luck (Aziz Ansari), who does odd jobs for a wealthy socialite named Jeff (Seth Rogen) who is a Venture Capitalist. Once the man falls asleep sitting in a booth at a Denny’s, he hits rock-bottom after subsequently having his car towed from their parking lot. Intervening in his plight, Gabriel tries to convince the man that being wealthy like Jeff would not solve his problems by swapping the two men’s lives. Failing at this demonstration as the man’s problems are solved by Jeff’s wealth, Gabriel loses his wings and is sent down to Earth to live among humans, while the man takes over Jeff’s body and livelihood. Gabriel then becomes roommates with the displaced Jeff, as all the good work he did as an angel begins to unravel around them.

Good Fortune is written and directed by Indian-American actor / comedian / producer / filmmaker Aziz Ansari, making his feature directorial debut with this, after directing episodes of his own series “Master of None” previously; he also wrote episodes of “Master of None” and the TV movie Dangerously Delicious, plus other comedy writing over the years. It’s produced by Aziz Ansari, Brady Fujikawa, Jon Humphrey, Anthony Katagas, David Koplan, and Alan Yang. Lionsgate will debut Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune movie in theaters nationwide starting on October 17th, 2025 later this fall. First impression? Look funny enough?

bitchy | Alexandra Grant posted a birthday message for Keanu Reeves warning against scams

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

A belated happy birthday to one of Canada’s best exports, Keanu Reeves! Keanu turned 61 on September 2. As is his style, Keanu celebrated his birthday privately. We didn’t get any pap shots or reports of him going out to dinner with friends. We were, however, treated to a birthday post that Keanu’s longtime girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, dedicated to him. Alexandra posted a picture of Keanu’s birthday cake along with a really sweet message thanking him for his “love and partnership.” She also thanked fans for their well-wishes and assured them that he was “well-celebrated.”

On Sept. 2, actor Keanu Reeves turned 61 years old, and while many fans and friends shared tributes online, the star kept any birthday celebrations under the radar, leaving fans wondering what he did for the occasion.

Thankfully, Reeves’ longtime partner, Alexandra Grant, shared a glimpse of how they celebrated the exciting day, along with a special message for the Matrix star. Grant took to Instagram to post the rare update, sharing a photo of a cake that read, “KEANU,” with an “X” underneath.

“Thank you to everyone for sending over sweet wishes for Keanu’s birthday yesterday… he was well-celebrated!” began Grant’s message in the caption, with the artist thanking fans for all their love.

Grant concluded her birthday tribute with a sweet note just for Reeves, writing, “And to Keanu – who saw this post as a draft! – I am so grateful for your love and partnership. Now back to painting! xo.”

The 52-year-old also took the opportunity to emphasize to fans how her partner, Reeves, doesn’t have any of his own social media, warning people not to get tricked by anyone pretending to be the actor: “If you, or anyone you know, is being taken advantage of online by someone pretending to be Keanu, please seek out help from the social media platform or your local law enforcement.”

[From Parade]

It sounds like Keanu had a great birthday. His cake looks good, too! If I had to make a guess, I’d go with it being a peanut butter and chocolate cake. Just looking at it is making me hungry. I’m normally a vanilla/vanilla (I know, the jokes write themselves with that one) or mint ice cream cake kinda gal, but if it mimics a Reese’s, then I’m all in. I also appreciate that Alexandra went out of her way to assure us that Keanu knew that she was going to make the post. He probably gave his blessing. I hope 61 brings Keanu more happiness, success, and peace.

There was also a portion of Alexandra’s post that reminded people that Keanu is as offline as they come. Here it is:

As many of you know, Keanu isn’t on any social media platforms and doesn’t see posts or memes unless someone who is shows him. If you, or anyone you know, is being taken advantage of online by someone pretending to be Keanu, please seek out help from the social media platform or your local law enforcement.

That’s a reference to a terrible scam that’s been prevalent over the past few years in which scammers pretend to be celebrities to romance their marks. They extort money from people and then promise that they’ll run away together. It’s happened with people using Keanu, Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, and more. The way these scammers prey on vulnerable or naive people is just disgusting. There is a special place in hell for those types of people. I’m glad Alexandra made sure to publicly educate fans about this scam.

Keanu Reeves’ Birthday Celebration With Alexandra Grant

by jummy84 September 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Keanu Reeves’ latest milestone is nothing short of excellent.

The John Wick star’s longtime girlfriend Alexandra Grant shared a glimpse at the romantic way she rang in his 61st birthday Sept. 2.

Alexandra, 52, showed off a heart-shaped cake covered in white frosting and outlined with candles as well as black and white candies. The dessert also featured “KEANU X” inscribed in red gel icing.

Alongside the pic, the artist offered a message to fans assuring them that the Matrix actor felt the love on his big day.

“Thank you to everyone for sending over sweet wishes for Keanu’s birthday yesterday,” she captioned the Sept. 3 Instagram post. “He was well-celebrated!”

Alexandra also shared a touching message to her longtime love, noting that he did in fact see it despite not having an account on the platform—or any other social media channels.

“To Keanu—who saw this post as a draft!—I am so grateful for your love and partnership,” she gushed. “Now back to painting! Xo.”

Inside Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant’s Excellent Love Story

by jummy84 September 2, 2025
written by jummy84

We’re still not sure if those were squeals of delight or howls of mourning when it became clear that Keanu Reeves was off the market.

But whichever reaction you identify with, finding out that the super-private actor had been love-pilled courtesy of visual artist Alexandra Grant was heartwarming news.

“It’s been really wonderful to be with Alexandra,” Reeves, who’s turning an ageless 61 on Sept. 2, told Parade in August 2020, confirming he and his girlfriend of an undisclosed span of time had been riding out the pandemic together. “We enjoy each other’s company, you know, whatever that may be. Once the beaches opened up, we went for a motorcycle ride, and we have a couple of projects.”

While he and Grant have been snapped hand-in-hand many times since, they didn’t appear on a red carpet together until November 2019, alerting the world to their coupling in the process.

“I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November,” Grant told British Vogue, “and that’s fascinating.”

But while they’ve never provided the exact timeline of their romance, they at the very least met at a dinner party back in 2009.
