Kartik Aaryan Opens Up About His Reunion With Ananya Panday

Ananya Panday and Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming film has left fans excited. After working on Pati Patni Aur Woh, the two have collaborated once again for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. A few months ago, the duo wrapped shooting for the romantic drama. It was later revealed that TMMTMTTM will arrive in cinemas on December 31, 2025. Ahead of the film’s release, Kartik spoke about his reunion with Ananya for the Sameer Vidwan directorial.


In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor opened up about reuniting with Ananya and said, “We had a blast shooting it, and that vibe translates on screen. Reuniting with Ananya was like picking up where we left off; she was a total live-wire on set. She’s going to surprise everyone. I’m sure the audience will enjoy our chemistry in this fun, refreshing rom-com as Ray-Rumi and all the masti the film brings.”


The film was shot in some stunning locations across Croatia and Rajasthan, offering a visually vibrant backdrop for the story. Veteran actors Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta also join the cast, bringing their experience and depth to the film.

With this mix of young energy and seasoned talent, the movie promises a balanced story full of humour, emotion, and charm.

For Kartik Aaryan, 2025 will always remain one of his most special years, with big film announcements one after the other, and of course, his Best Actor wins: IIFA for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Filmfare for Chandu Champion, both 2024 releases. As HT City catches up with him, the confidence shines through, in both his choices and ambition:

Winning your first-ever Filmfare Best Actor award for Chandu Champion – for a new-generation star like you, did the film feel like an ‘experiment,’ and was the win a vindication of sorts?

Honestly, I didn’t look at Chandu Champion as an experiment at all. The moment I heard the story of (India’s first paralympic gold medallist) Murlikant Petkar ji, I was surprised and deeply moved. I felt this was a story of incredible resilience, courage, and self belief; one every Indian should know. I could totally relate to his story and considered myself truly blessed to get the opportunity to portray such an inspirational real-life hero on screen. I will always be indebted to Kabir (Khan, director) sir and Sajid (Nadiadwala, producer) sir for trusting me with this incredible story. Winning the Filmfare Best Actor award feels like a huge validation, not just for me but for the kind of cinema that celebrates real stories and the human spirit.

Is Chatori (your newest pup) a present you have given to yourself for your Chandu Champion win?

(Laughs) Yes, you can say that! Chatori is actually a gift from my mom, and she’s already become everyone’s favourite at home. Bas Katori thodi si insecure ho gayi hai! Abhi tak donon ki dosti nahin hui hai. But still, Katori is very protective of Chatori like a big sister. The house feels livelier with both of them around.

We celebrated Diwali recently, and one is reminded of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 last year, which pretty much set the benchmark for Diwali releases. Do big box office numbers feel like a responsibility, or add pressure?

The love the audience showered on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was overwhelming, it felt like a festival inside theatres. The film released alongside another massive franchise, and there was immense anticipation among the audience, trade, and media for both. Together, the two films did a combined business of over ₹800 crores worldwide (BB3 – ₹423.85 cr, Singham Returns – ₹389.64 cr). That year, Diwali genuinely felt like Diwali for the entire industry.

For me, these big box office numbers are very motivating, but more than pressure, I see it as a responsibility, to keep entertaining the audience and living up to their expectations. At the same time, I try not to let the numbers dictate my choices. For me, it’s always about the story and the connection it creates with the audience. If that works, everything else follows.

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is set for a New Year eve release. How was it reuniting with (actor) Ananya Panday?

The film has shaped up beautifully, it’s got that perfect mix of heart, fun, and festive energy. We had a blast shooting it, and that vibe translates on screen. Would you call rom-com ‘your’ genre, given your successful track record in them?

Rom-coms come to me quite naturally, maybe they’re just in my DNA (laughs). I guess the audience also enjoys seeing me in such roles, which makes it more special. But I never want to be confined to one genre. I love exploring different kinds of stories and characters. At the end of the day, I go by what truly connects with me, a story that moves me and one that will entertain the audience, no matter what the genre is.

One hears that you don’t limit yourself to just acting, you get involved in marketing too. There’s even a ‘Kartik Aaryan template’ now. Where did this streak come from?

I think I’m also a bit of a businessman at heart (smiles). For me, it’s equally important to market a film in the best possible way. Today, storytelling doesn’t end with the shoot, how you present it to the audience matters just as much. So I like being involved in all aspects of film making. Thankfully, my producers have been welcoming and yes, even I have heard about the ‘Kartik Aaryan template’ being discussed at films marketing meetings! Trust me, its really encouraging.

Kartik Aaryan Wraps Poster Shoot Of Naagzilla; Filming To Begin From THIS Date

Kartik Aaryan is gearing up for an adventurous new role that’s unlike anything he has done before. After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the actor is all set to headline Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain’s upcoming creature comedy-drama titled Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand. The film promises a mix of humor, fantasy, and drama, with Kartik playing a shape-shifting serpent. According to reports, Kartik completed the film’s poster shoot in Mumbai today, and the main shooting is set to begin on November 1.

Naagzilla Official Announcement And Release Date

As per a report by Pinkvilla, the Shehzada actor kicked off his journey with a special photoshoot that hints at his exciting transformation in Naagzilla. The film, officially announced in April 2025, will release on August 14, 2026—perfectly timed with both Independence Day weekend and Naag Panchami celebrations. 

Kartik will be seen as Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an “Ichchadaari Naag” (shape-shifting serpent), in what is being described as one of his most entertaining and unique roles yet.

About Naagzilla

Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, known for his Fukrey series, the film will mark his first venture outside that franchise. Naagzilla is being jointly produced by Mahaveer Jain Films and Dharma Productions—marking the first collaboration between Mahaveer Jain and Karan Johar. The makers reportedly plan to turn it into a franchise if the first installment performs well. Actor Ravi Kishan is also rumored to be part of the ensemble cast.

Kartik Aaryan’s Work Front 

Besides Naagzilla, Kartik will next be seen in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri alongside Ananya Panday. He’s also working on a musical romantic drama with Sreeleela directed by Anurag Basu, and has two more films lined up with acclaimed directors Shimit Amin and Vishnuvardhan.

Kartik Aaryan is not only ruling the silver screen but also making smart real estate investments. The actor has recently purchased a plush office in Andheri West, Mumbai, worth ₹13 crore. This comes just weeks after he invested in a plot in Alibaug worth ₹2 crore, strengthening his presence in the luxury property market.

Kartik Aaryan Bought New Office In Premium Commercial Tower

As per property documents accessed by real estate platform Square Yards, the transaction was finalized in September 2025. Kartik’s new office is located in the premium commercial tower “Signature by Lotus.” The space covers 1,905 sq. ft. carpet area and 2,095 sq. ft. built-up area, along with three dedicated car parking spots.

Reports further suggest that the actor paid ₹7.8 million in stamp duty and ₹30,000 as registration fees. Andheri West, known for its high-end commercial and residential spaces, has become one of the most sought-after hubs for Bollywood stars and top businesses. Earlier, Kartik Aaryan grabbed headlines for purchasing land in The House of Abhinandan Lodha’s premium “Chateau de Alibag” project.

The actor reportedly bought a plot worth ₹2 crore in the star-favorite coastal town. In recent years, Alibaug has turned into a celebrity hotspot, with stars like Amitabh Bachchan investing in a 10,000 sq. ft. plot worth ₹10 crore and Kriti Sanon also acquiring land there. Kartik already owns a luxury flat in Juhu’s Siddhi Vinayak Building at the Presidency Co-operative Housing Society. Purchased in 2023, this 1,912 sq. ft. apartment is valued at ₹17.5 crore. The actor later leased the property in 2024 for ₹4.5 lakh per month, making it a high-value rental home in one of Mumbai’s most prestigious neighborhoods. On the work front, Kartik continues to enjoy back-to-back successes after “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” and “SatyaPrem Ki Katha.” His upcoming film, “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri,” featuring Ananya Panday, is slated for release on December 31, 2025.

Kartik Aaryan And Luv Ranjan to Team Up for a Special Project Soon ?

In 2011, Luv Ranjan and Kartik Aaryan collaborated for the first time on Pyaar Ka Punchnama, which unexpectedly became a success and gained a cult status among moviegoers. They collaborated again in 2015 for the sequel to Pyaar Ka Punchnama, which successfully continued the tradition of the first film and was well-received by audiences everywhere. They achieved a hat-trick in 2018 with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, a box office success that also holds a special place in the hearts of the youth.  

 

Seven years after the remarkable success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Kartik Aaryan and Luv Ranjan are reportedly teaming up once more. Reports by Pinkvilla suggest that Kartik Aaryan and Luv Ranjan are collaborating on a project that promises to be a complete entertainer, much like their previous successful films. A source close to the development revealed, “Luv Ranjan, and Kartik Aaryan have always been discussing a potential collaboration, and there’s finally a script that warrants the union of this duo responsible for as many as three pathbreaking entertainers. The film rolls in 2026 and is presently in the pre-production stage.” 

While specific project details remain confidential, the source confirms that both Luv Ranjan and Kartik Aaryan are enthusiastic about their collaboration. The source added, “The film will mark the fifth collaboration for Kartik and Luv, which is one of the longest-standing actor-director relationship in the modern era.” 

 

The casting and other aspects of the film will be locked in the coming months. The source concluded, “The Luv Ranjan style entertainment, will be packaged with strong music. It’s going to be Kartik Aaryan in an avatar that audiences love to see him in.” While Kartik Aaryan is currently busy prepping for his film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri to hit theatres on December 31, 2025, Luv Ranjan is set to release De De Pyaar De 2 on November 14, 2025.

Vikrant Massey CONFIRMS Dostana 2 With Lakshya Replacing Kartik Aaryan

Vikrant Massey confirmed leading Dostana 2 alongside Lakshya. The actor just earned his first National Award for 12th Fail. In a recent interview, the Lootera actor confirmed he has also secured his first project with Dharma Productions.

Speaking to Times Now, Vikrant Massey said, “You will see me doing that soon. I think this news is already out. I don’t know why I’m not talking. I’m doing Dostana 2. I’m doing my first Dharma movie.” Known for his acting prowess, Vikrant will embody the typical Dharma style in the film.

“Within it, you’ll see me wearing good designer clothes. Karan (Johar) sir will ensure I have stylish outfits and those fancy sunglasses. Shooting somewhere in Europe,” he shared. Vikrant, however, chose not to reveal the name of the female lead, saying, “I think I won’t say that. Karan sir will handle the announcement. That’s also a big reveal.” When asked about Lakshya’s involvement, he confirmed, “Lakshya is part of the movie. But let the girl be a surprise,” he added.

Kartik Being Replaced?

After months of speculation, Dharma Productions officially announced in 2021 that they were recasting the highly anticipated Dostana 2. Their statement read, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain dignified silence — we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon (sic).”

Following this, rumours of a rift between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan circulated, though both kept quiet over the years. Even when questioned by journalists about the alleged conflict, Kartik avoided giving details. Initially, Janhvi Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan were slated to headline the film. Later, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar appeared together on stage at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2023, making headlines.

The entire cast and crew came together at a buzzing city restaurant, and the night looked like one big celebration of everything they’d achieved over the last couple of months. Kartik and Ananya, who twinned in striking all-black outfits, instantly turned heads as soon as they walked in. After 57 days of filming, Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday have officially wrapped their next film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, and the celebrations on the last day were full of joy. Kartik took to social media to post a heartfelt note along with a behind the scenes video that featured dancing, laughter, and a big cake cutting moment. He shared a collab post with Ananya, showing fans a glimpse of their bond off screen.


In his message, Kartik described the experience as “an unforgettable, fun filled, super fast roller coaster ride” and thanked the team for making it possible. He credited director Sameer Vidwans for his vision and praised producers Shareen Mantri and Kishor Arora for their support. “Energies matter. Vibes matter,” he wrote, reflecting on the positive atmosphere on set.

Kartik also had a special mention for Ananya, calling her a “wonderful costar” and adding, “No one else could have brought to life what you did in TMMT.” He expressed how grateful he was to work for the first time with Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta, saying he valued their “blessings and learnings.” He also appreciated writer Karan Sharma for creating his character Ray, which he feels fans will love as much or more than his popular role of Sattu from Satyaprem Ki Katha.

The wrap celebrations were made even more special with the presence of Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Bhumika Bhandula, and Adar Poonawalla. This project marks Kartik’s reunion with Sameer Vidwans and also his first collaboration with Dharma Productions. It comes years after Dostana 2 was shelved during the pandemic. Report: Kartik Aaryan to Collaborate With Shershaah Director Vishnuvardhan for a Zombie Film

Kartik Aaryan recently completed shooting for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri with Ananya Panday and Anurag Basu’s yet untitled film with Sreeleela. He also announced another film sometime, titled Nagzilla with Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. Now, we are getting to know that he has joined hands with Shershaah director Vishnuvardhan for zombie film.

As per a source quoted by Pinkvilla, “Kartik Aaryan has been on the lookout to do a Zombie film for a while now, and that’s when Vishnuvardhan came to his life. The filmmaker has developed a unique Zombie film, and Kartik loved the world created by Vishnuvardhan. He has given his green signal to the project and is tentatively looking to take the film on floors in July 2026.”

The source further continued, “July 2026 is far away, but at the moment, the Vishnuvardhan film is slotted tentatively in Kartik’s calendar. He continues to read many other scripts, and is meeting filmmakers to explore a possible collaboration. Kartik is someone who loves to spend time on the film set and is working closely with his team to have a formidable line-up in place.”

Meanwhile, Kartik will also collaborate with Chak De! India director Shimit Amin on the film Captain India. As per reports, the film is set to go on floors in the first half of 2026 and the shooting will take place in India and Morocco. As per a source quoted by Pinkvilla, “Shimit Amin has already locked a crisp, engaging screenplay for Captain India and is set to roll cameras with Kartik in the first half of 2026. When Shimit narrated the story, Kartik was immediately hooked. The plan is to shoot extensively in India and Morocco, in fact, the location recce in Morocco has already been completed.”
