The Darkness’ Justin Hawkins never “intended to incite a feud” with Yungblud: “It’s OK to be a bit skeptical”

by jummy84 October 11, 2025

The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins has clarified his comments about Yungblud‘s authenticity as a rock star, saying he never “intended to incite a feud” and emphasised that “it’s OK to be a bit sceptical.”

The fracas began after the band’s guitarist Dan Hawkins called the artist – real name Dom Harrison’s – performance paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne with Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt at the MTV VMAs “another nail in the coffin of rock n roll”. He also called Harrison, as well as his fellow performers “a bunch of bellends”.

Justin Hawkins  would later expand on Dan’s comments on his YouTube channel, describing the performance as “rock n’ roll seen through an Instagram filter of some sort” and adding: “Yungblud seems to have positioned himself as a natural heir to the Ozzy legacy, having nothing to do with the really important stuff.”

In response, Harrison described his critics as “bitter and jealous”, explaining: “They are doing the things they say we are doing – they’re trying to insert themselves into a conversation to obtain some kind of relevancy, on the back of us honouring one of the greatest rock stars that ever lived – and then they talk about authenticity and stuff like that.”

Hawkins has now posted a video through his YouTube channel Justin Hawkins Rides Again titled ‘Yungblud And The Cost of Having An Opinion’. In it, he admitted that he was surprised when it was suggested to him in an interview that he and Harrison were ‘feuding’ because, by running a reaction channel, he is giving his opinion on a performance.

“There’s nothing ‘feudy about it,” he said, “especially when it comes to my reactions to the VMAs performance. None of that was intended to incite a feud. I think that Yungblud is a very well-connected and, as such, dangerous artist. He’s an individual who is not the sort of bear you’d go round poking.

“But I think that when there’s real-time pitch correction happening [referring to his criticism of Harrison’s use of autotune] and stuff like that, and the other observations I made about the overall delivery of it… you’re talking about somebody that came from musical theatre via Disney and is now being lauded as the future of rock. And if they have real-time pitch correction and that kind of background, I think it’s OK to be a bit skeptical about it.”

He continued: “I know that’s not a very popular opinion but from the reaction community if you can’t say something negative about something that leaves you only one opinion available to you and that’s not how life works. Everybody’s allowed to say whatever they want.”

Hawkins then cuts to Harrison’s interview on Jack Osbourne’s podcast when he talks about the comments.

“I’m not slagging him off because… I don’t even think I’m slagging it off actually,” he continued. “I think I’m making a point that if the future of rock requires real-time pitch correction in a live environment rock is pretty fucked, isn’t it?”

Earlier this summer, the singer announced he will be embarking on a one-man tour for his podcast, which will take place in the UK next year. Get your tickets to the ‘Justin Hawkins Rides Again… Again!’ tour here.

Justin Vernon Auditions His Replacement In ‘Day One’ Video

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Justin Vernon gets conceptual in the new video for the Bon Iver song “Day One,” which finds him announcing his “retirement” and then holding an open casting audition for his replacement in school gymnasium.

Directed by Jos Diaz Contreras, the clip features cameo appearances from actors Cristin Milioti and Jacob Elordi, plus St. Vincent, Vernon himself, a child in a beard and the song’s guest vocalists, Dijon and Flock of Dimes/Bon Iver touring member Jenn Wasner.

“Day One” can be found on Bon Iver’s latest Jagjaguwar album SABLE, fABLE, which debuted at No. 1 on both Billboard‘s Rock/Alternative and Americana/Folk charts.

Vernon is committed to not touring in the near term in support of SABLE, fABLE, but told an invite-only crowd at an April promo event with Todd Snyder that he will return to the stage at some point.

“I’m not saying I’m not ever going to tour. I’m definitely going to play shows of some kind again. I want to be out there and I want to do that whole thing,” he said. “But I think taking the license to decide that something’s not for you is another one of those things. It may be painful and strange to not do the thing that’s expected of you or that other people who are successful do, but I do think that’s a little bit of that Midwest ethic. I grew up never expecting to have the kind of career I have now. I was hoping that I could hawk CDs out of the back of my Honda CR-V and go home to my little house with a wife and kids. It hasn’t turned out that way, but when you make those hard decisions, they bring rewards.”

For now, he can be heard guesting on Brandi Carlile’s upcoming album, Returning to Myself, which is due Oct. 24.

Justin Bieber Showcases Bond With Hailey Bieber and Son Jack in Adorable Family Photos

Jack Blues Bieber is the ultimate Belieber.

The 13-month-old son of Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber proved he’s his dad’s biggest fan as he bundled up in an adorable fashion homage to the “Somebody to Love” singer.

In a photo shared on Hailey’s Instagram page Oct. 4, the toddler sat with his back to the camera while wearing a cozy gray hoodie emblazoned with a picture of the “Somebody to Love” singer, taken from his 2010 album My World 2.0.

The sweet nod to Justin’s music history was part of what Hailey, 28, dubbed “Jacktober,” as she showcased pics of the little one modeling various fall looks, including a red and gray striped shirt and solid gray sweatpants. Another image showed Jack getting in the spirit of the season as he observed a skeleton seated atop a bale of hay and surrounded by pumpkins.

Jack also modeled a second look inspired by the Canadian-born singer, who is a noted Toronto Maple Leafs fan. In the fourth slide of the photo carousel, Jack donned a navy sweater bearing the hockey team’s logo, along with a pair of blue jeans and a red beanie hat.

NSYNC ‘weighing reunion tour to mark 30th anniversary without Justin Timberlake’

NSYNC are reportedly weighing a reunion tour to mark their 30th anniversary without Justin Timberlake. Singers Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick are said to have been in talks about returning to the stage as a four-piece.

NSYNC are reportedly weighing a reunion tour to mark their 30th anniversary without Justin Timberlake

Sources told TMZ the group are exploring “the possibility of an arena tour without” Justin, 44, who has reportedly not engaged in discussions despite interest from major concert promoters.

One insider told the outlet: “The guys know the appetite is there for a reunion and that fans are ready for it, even if Justin isn’t involved.”

The update follows years of speculation about a comeback for the chart-topping group, who dominated pop music at the turn of the millennium with hits such as It’s Gonna Be Me, Tearin’ Up My Heart, Bye Bye Bye and I Want You Back.

The band last toured in 2002 before splitting, with Timberlake pursuing a hugely successful solo career.

Sources added promoters AEG and Live Nation had previously approached the members about staging concerts in 2026.

Talks are said to have started before Justin’s battle with Lyme disease became public.

Promoters reportedly believe the remaining members could fill arenas in major markets, with the potential for even bigger shows should Timberlake decide to rejoin.

The band teased fans in 2023 when they reunited for the first time in two decades, releasing Better Place, a promotional track for Justin’s animated film Trolls Band Together.

That same year, they appeared on stage together at the MTV Video Music Awards, presenting Taylor Swift with the award for Best Pop for her song Anti-Hero.

Lance Bass added more intrigue last year during an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, when he discussed tensions leading up to the group’s split.

He claimed Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who opened for NSYNC on their 2002 Celebrity tour, encouraged Timberlake to abandon the group for a solo career.

Lance said: “I never kind of liked him because, I’ll say this, I overheard him talking to Justin being like, ‘You need to drop these effers, you need to go solo’.

“I was like, ‘I don’t like you anymore, Diddy’. I’m like, ‘At my own show? What the hell!’

“So I never liked him.”

A Fatal Trip to a Remote Island – Justin Lin’s ‘Last Days’ Official Trailer

“All they want is to be who they are, yet the world is determined go there and destroy them!” Yep! She’s right. Vertical has unveiled their official trailer for a movie titled Last Days, the first non-Fast & Furious movie directed by filmmaker Justin Lin in a while. The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and will be out to watch coming soon this fall. The film tells the story of John Allen Chau, an idealistic missionary wanting to make contact with the “Sentinelese“, an isolated tribe living on North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean. It’s the same story told in the doc film The Mission, which everyone is familiar with because he was killed by this island tribe at the shore. A 26-year-old missionary journeys to the remote North Sentinel Island, determined to convert an isolated tribe, while the authorities attempt to intervene before potential harm occurs. Starring Sky Yang as John Allen Chau, with Radhika Apte, Ken Leung, Naveen Andrews, Toby Wallace, and Ciara Bravo. This movie looks like it glorifies this kid way too much, when in reality, he was just a dangerous idiot who had no valid reason to go there. Oh well…

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Justin Lin’s film Last Days, direct from Vertical’s YouTube:

Based on a true story, Last Days follows John Allen Chau (Sky Yang) on a dangerous adventure across the globe to share his faith with the isolated tribe of North Sentinel Island, while a detective races to stop him before he does harm to himself or the tribe. Last Days is directed by the Taiwanese-American filmmaker Justin Lin, director of the films Shopping for Fangs, Better Luck Tomorrow, Annapolis, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Finishing the Game, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Star Trek Beyond, and F9: The Fast Saga previously. The screenplay is written by Ben Ripley. Based on the true story of John Allen Chau; inspired by the article “The Last Days of John Allen Chau” written by Alex Perry. It’s produced by Salvador Gatdula, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Justin Lin, Eric Ian Robinson, Andrew Schneider, and Clayton Townsend. This initially premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Vertical will debut Lin’s Last Days film in select US theaters + on VOD starting October 24th, 2025 this fall. Look any good?

Justin Bieber’s highly anticipated performance at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is reportedly thanks to his wife, Hailey Bieber. A source revealed to US Weekly, “Hailey was a big influence on Justin’s decision to headline Coachella.” The insider continued, “She nudged him and is always in his corner hyping him up.” The “incredibly supportive” 28-year-old reportedly “assured” Bieber that “now is the best time” to make his comeback on the stage, as reported by Page Six.

Hailey described as ‘driving force’ behind Bieber’s Coachella decision

A second source told the media outlet that the Rhode founder was the “driving force behind Justin doing Coachella”. A longtime fan before becoming his wife in 2018, Hailey reportedly “always reminds him that he’s the Justin Bieber.”

The second source added, “She knows firsthand how much it means to his fans to see him back on stage, so she was like, ‘You have to do this!’” The 31-year-old had previously declined offers to perform at Coachella, but he reportedly changed his mind after dropping his latest albums, Swag and Swag II, this summer, as reported by Page Six.

The first source told US Weekly, “He feels this is the best way to share his new music with fans and is very excited about the opportunity.” The insider added, “He is more in control of his career. He doesn’t have people making decisions for him anymore.”

How much is Justin Bieber getting paid for Coachella 2026?

Coachella announced Bieber as its headliner for next year’s music festival, accompanied by Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G. The Baby singer, who had previously stepped away from the spotlight amid mental health concerns, will reportedly earn an unprecedented $10 million, as reported by Page Six.

A source told Rolling Stone, “It’s a groundbreaking move for a headliner, and it’s something he built entirely on his own,” after the announcement. They added, “Between headlining Coachella and the success of ‘Swag,’ it’s clear this is the start of an exciting new era for Justin — one where he’s fully in the driver’s seat.”

Bieber reportedly secured the massive seven-figure Coachella deal without the help of an agent, instead signing directly with festival promoter Goldenvoice.

Justin Bieber Teases Coachella Performance With ‘Speed Demon’ Video

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Justin Bieber has shared a black and white video for “Speed Demon.” The clip, shot and edited by Rory Kramer, was filmed at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, where Coachella takes place.

The singer teased his forthcoming headlining set at Coachella 2026 in a caption on Instagram, telling fans, “see u in april.” Bieber also shared photos of himself with his wife Hailey Bieber and their son Jack Blues Bieber at the venue.

“Speed Demon” comes off Bieber’s most recent release, Swag II, the follow-up to his July album Swag. The LP features 23 tracks and several collaborations, including with Lil B, Hurricane Chris, Eddie Benjamin, and Tems. Like Swag, Bieber announced the new LP a day before its arrival with a flurry of Instagram posts featuring billboards and other large-scale promotions of the album cover.

Swag was Bieber’s first album in four years. In the time since releasing 2021’s Justice, Bieber had been dealing with a series of career setbacks and health scares. He canceled his massive world tour in support of Justice following a Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis, which left part of his face paralyzed. He also quietly parted ways with longtime manager Scooter Braun, who discovered Bieber on YouTube when the singer was quite young. Rumors have swirled about personal and financial tensions that led to the dissolution of their professional relationship.

Bieber was confirmed as one of the headliners of Coachella 2026 earlier this month. Rolling Stone learned the singer scored a seven-figure deal for the performance and worked “directly” with festival promoter Goldenvoice to negotiate the terms of his slot. Bieber’s Coachella set will mark his first performance in the United States since 2022’s Justice World Tour.

“It’s a groundbreaking move for a headliner, and it’s something he built entirely on his own,” a source close to Bieber tells Rolling Stone. “Between headlining Coachella and the success of Swag, it’s clear this is the start of an exciting new era for Justin — one where he’s fully in the driver’s seat.”

Trending Stories

While Bieber has joined previous Coachella performers for guest appearances, 2026 will mark his first solo slot. He joined Tems and WizKid for a rendition of “Essence” in 2024, and performed “Peaches” with Daniel Caesar in 2022. The pop icon also performed “Sorry” with Ariana Grande when she headlined the music festival in 2019.

Coachella is scheduled to take place in Indio, California, on April 10-12 and April 17-19. Additional headliners include Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G, and Anyma.

Yard Act are working on their third album with former Nine Inch Nails and Beck bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Yard Act have revealed that they are currently in the studio working on their third album with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen.

The Leeds band released their second record ‘Where’s My Utopia?’ in March 2024 and have been touring steadily in the time since, but now they have confirmed that they are working in Nave Studio in their hometown on their next LP.

Posting on Instagram this week, they wrote: “Hello from @nave_studios, where we’re making the greatest third album any band has ever recorded, with our new pal @justinmeldaljohnsen.”

They also made reference to BBC Radio 6 Music’s ‘T-Shirt Day’ celebration of vintage artist tees, showing off their respective Kurt Vile, Bad Brains, Napalm Death, Nuha Ruby Ra and Bill Nelson t-shirts. “YALP3 will be the sweet spot between Napalm Death and Bill Nelson,” they quipped.

Yard Act co-produced ‘Where’s My Utopia?’ with Remi Kabaka Jr, who is best known as the drummer and producer for Gorillaz, but as they have revealed, this time around they are working alongside Meldal-Johnsen.

The American musician and producer served as the musical director for Beck from 1996 until 2016 and played as a touring bassist, guitarist and keyboardist for Nine Inch Nails in 2008 and 2009. He has also worked as a musical director for St. Vincent since 2021 and in 2023, he resumed touring with Beck.

As a producer, he has worked on a number of high profile projects, including M83’s ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’ (2011), Wolf Alice’s ‘Visions Of A Life’ (2017), Deafheaven’s ‘Infinite Granite’ (2021) and St. Vincent’s ‘All Born Screaming’ (2024).

Before the end of the year, Yard Act will serve as the opening act on The Hives’ UK and European tour, which kicks off in Oslo on October 17 and includes shows in Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and London at the end of November. See the full list of dates here and find any remaining tickets here.

In a four-star review of ‘Where’s My Utopia?’, NME wrote: “In between samples from their comedy pals – standups Nish Kumar and Rose Matafeo – and references to all sorts of uniquely British phenomena: from ‘Fizzy Fish’ to Calpol and, er, Milton Keynes. Where’s My Utopia?’ marks an outlandish yet assertive second chapter for Yard Act, going toe-to-toe with the peculiar world that we find ourselves in.”
