Jon Bon Jovi Taking Inspiration from Metallica for Bon Jovi 2026 Tour Setlists

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Bon Jovi are playing a whopping nine shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden as part of their recently announced 2026 “Forever Tour,” and singer Jon Bon Jovi says he’s taking inspiration from Metallica’s “M72 World Tour” when figuring out the setlists for the upcoming concerts.

Next year’s tour, which thus far consists of the MSG residency (tickets available here) and a handful of dates in the UK and Ireland, is a comeback of sorts for Bon Jovi, marking their first extended dates since Jon Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord surgery a couple years ago.

Knowing that many fans will likely attend more than one show at Madison Square Garden, the singer says that he’s taking cues from Metallica’s ongoing “M72 World Tour,” which features the metal band playing two completely unique “no repeat” sets over two nights in most cities.

The vocalist even sought advice from Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, telling Planet Rock (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), “The one thing that I am in control of, the only thing I’m in control of [is the setlist], ’cause at this point, because I do [rehearsals of] two hours a day, four days a week of sets, of shows. I was looking to Metallica. And I talked to Lars. I said, ‘So let me get this straight. If you’re only doing “Master of Puppets” on one night and “One” on one night, is the audience mad that they’re not there [on one of the nights]?’ And he goes, ‘Nope. We have enough songs that it works.’”

He continued, “[Lars] goes, ‘And your catalog…’ And I went, ‘I’m digging that concept.’ So not that we’re gonna do that, but I have enough songs and enough hits, I could do two separate entire shows and have hits on both sides. So I’m having a lot of fun putting together shows that are multiple-night kind of shows.”

Asked about whether Bon Jovi had ever performed an entire album in concert, Jon answered, “We’ve done those in situations, like we did the This House Is Not for Sale album at some theater here for a record and for a TV show. And we’ve done Lost Highway like that. So, there’ve been a couple, but not a lot. I think 2020, we did that too, but that was during COVID. But no, we’ve never performed ‘Slippery [When Wet]’ in its entirety or New Jersey in its entirety, or Keep the Faith in its entirety.”

Jon Bon Jovi wants to see biopic of his life “at some point”

by jummy84 October 26, 2025
written by jummy84

Jon Bon Jovi has said he would like to see a biopic of his life “at some point”, after the release of Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.

The big screen biography of Bon Jovi’s friend was released on Friday (October 24), with The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White playing the Boss during the period in which he was suffering from depression and trying to write his 1982 album ‘Nebraska’.

With that film in mind, Bon Jovi has told The Sun that he would like to see his own life dramatised in a feature film “at some point” in the future.

He suggested that his own son Jake Bongiovi, 23, who is an actor and model who has starred in the films Rockbottom and Sweethearts, would be the ideal candidate to play him in the film, although he is in no rush to see it being made. “I’m not in my final chapter yet,” he said. “I’m living my next chapter.”

The next chapter will consist of a run of UK and Ireland stadium shows and a New York residency in the summer of 2026, as announced earlier this week.

They will play four nights at the iconic Madison Square Garden in July, followed by shows at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, Dublin’s Croke Park and London’s Wembley Stadium in late August and early September. See all the information on the shows here and find tickets here from Monday (October 27).

Speaking about the tour, Jon Bon Jovi said: “There is a lot of joy in this announcement – joy that we can share these nights together with our amazing fans and joy that the band can be together.”

“I am lucky enough to be able to hold a light out to the audience each night and stand in their reflection for a tremendous collective experience – I get to stand in the WE of our concerts. And I’ve spoken extensively on my gratitude but I will say it again, I’m deeply grateful that the fans and the brotherhood of this band have been patient and allowed me the time needed to get healthy and prepare for touring. I’m ready and excited!”

These will be the biggest live shows since Jon Bon Jovi had surgery on his vocal cords in 2022, a process which at one point he said left him uncertain that he would ever be able to tour again.

Last year, Bon Jovi released their 16th album ‘Forever’, a celebration of the band’s 40th anniversary and a follow-on from the Disney+ documentary film Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.

Yesterday (October 24), the band released a new version of ‘Forever’ featuring reinterpretations of the album’s songs in collaboration with a list of guests that includes Bruce Springsteen, Avril Lavigne, Robbie Williams, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Ryan Tedder, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott and more.

Bon Jovi have only played a handful of one-off gigs since completing a Spring 2022 tour, as Jon Bon Jovi recovered from a vocal-cord issue which required surgery, and left him wondering if he’d ever be able to tour again. In a press release, the frontman expressed his gratitude to fans for their patience during his healing process:

“There is a lot of joy in this announcement — joy that we can share these nights together with our amazing fans and joy that the band can be together. I am lucky enough to be able to hold a light out to the audience each night and stand in their reflection for a tremendous collective experience — I get to stand in the WE of our concerts. And I’ve spoken extensively on my gratitude but I will say it again, I’m deeply grateful that the fans and the brotherhood of this band have been patient and allowed me the time needed to get healthy and prepare for touring. I’m ready and excited!”

For pre-sale access to the band’s UK/Ireland shows, fans can pre-order the band’s upcoming album, Forever (Legendary Edition), an updated version of their 2024 album featuring collaborations with Bruce Springsteen, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Jason Isbell, Avril Lavigne, and more.

In addition to Jon Bon Jovi, the band’s touring lineup features keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, bassist Hugh McDonald, guitarists Phil X and John Shanks, and percussionist Everett Bradley.

Happy New Music Friday! The weekend is here, which means more streaming, new playlists and the best that music has to offer — and ET has you covered for everything in between.

Following last week’s release of The Life of a Showgirl, which sold over 4 million albums in the U.S., Taylor Swift will be returning to Disney+ with two brand new projects — Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era, a 6-episode behind the scenes docuseries event chronicling the development, impact and inner-workings that created The Eras Tour, and Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, the full concert film featuring The Tortured Poets Department for the first time, streaming Disney 12 on Disney+. Taylor shared, “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.”

Charlie Puth has announced his fourth studio album, Whatever’s Clever! will be out on March 6, 2026. He released a new single, “Changes,” where he reflects on both personal and professional changes. His wife Brooke Sansone makes a sweet cameo in the music video and they reveal a baby is on the way as they both place their hands on her stomach. Last month, Charlie kicked off a series of sold-out underplay residencies at Blue Note New York and continued this week in Los Angeles where he debuted his new song “Changes.”

The Latin Academy has announced the first round of performers for the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. Pepe Aguilar, Aitana, Ivan Cornejo, DannyLux, Gloria Estefan, Kakalo, Carin León, Liniker, Morat and Los Tigres del Norte, as well as the 2025 Person of the Year, Raphael, will all take the stage on November 13.

No Doubt have announced six additional dates for their highly anticipated No Doubt Live at Sphere residency due to incredible fan demand. The newly added shows are set for May 21, 23, 24, 27, 29, and 30. The residency marks their first extended run of performances in nearly 14 years, following their historic Seven Night Stand in Los Angeles in 2012.

LANY announced their 2026 Soft World Tour and will be taking their new album, Soft, on the road for fans across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, UK, and Europe for thirty eight dates. The tour will kick off January 23 in Dubai.

Nick Jonas and his nonprofit organization Beyond Type 1 launched a new campaign centered around debunking diabetes myths. The video, “Go Beyond,” features Nick, Billy Porter, Adonai “AD” Mitchell, and Sam Morrison, and challenges people to go beyond what they think they know about diabetes. Beyond Type 1 is a global nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by diabetes.

Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres shuts down “bullshit” retirement rumours

by jummy84 August 31, 2025
written by jummy84

Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres has shut down claims he retired from the band after rumours circulated on social media.

  • READ MORE: Bon Jovi talk “joyous” new album and battling health problems: “We’re not dead yet”

Tico is a founding member of classic rock outfit and was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with them back in 2018, leading fans to panic when speculation arose that he had exited the band.

Rumours gained traction earlier after the hosts of the Bon Jovi Talk podcast hinted at a possible line-up change, taking to X/Twitter to write: “Wait…. Has Tico retired????” They went on to say that keyboard player David Bryan had made comments suggesting he and Jon Bon Jovi “started when they were 16” and were now the only two core members left.

“If Tico is done, that’s the band done,” their post continued. “Tico is the heart and soul of the band.” On Monday (August 25), the stickman shared a short video message in response, in which he said he was “here to dispel a lot of rumours that I’ve read”.

“People calling me up, saying, ‘Did you retire from music, from the band?’ Well, no. I have no idea how this stuff starts. Musicians don’t retire, especially me. Me and the boys, Jon and everybody, we’re still making music. I mean, the best we’ve ever been.

“All I can tell you is don’t listen to what you read,” he laughed. “It’s most likely bullshit.”

Replying in the comments, Jon Bon Jovi wrote: “God bless Tico and every member of this band get ready for us… we’re ready for you !!!!”

Torres’ video message fell on the same day the band shared news that they are revisiting their 2024 record ‘Forever’ in a new collaborative album that will see them join forces with artists including Bruce Springsteen, Avril Lavigne, Robbie Williams and more.

Titled ‘Forever (Legendary Edition)’, the record also features guest artists like Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Ryan Tedder, the War & Treaty, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, and more. It arrives October 24, and you can pre-order/pre-save here.

It has so far been previewed with Springsteen track ‘Hollow Man’ as well as a new single ‘Red, White & Jersey’, with Jon Bon Jovi describing the new album as, “more than just a collection of collaborations”.

Bon Jovi ‘Forever (Legacy Edition’ album artwork. CREDIT: PRESS

“It is an album borne out of necessity,” he said in a statement, referencing the vocal issues he battled that left him fearing he may never perform live again.

In an interview with NME about ‘Forever’ last year, he shed light on his ongoing recovery from vocal surgery, the chances of an ABBA Voyage-style hologram show, as well as drawing inspiration from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift and his ‘Hollow Man’ collaborator Springsteen.

“When we first started out, The Rolling Stones had just turned 40 and we thought they were old then, but they’re still setting the bar to this day. That band are role models, not only to us, but the generation that has come after us,” he said at the time.

“Look at Paul McCartney, he’s 81 and still making records. Bruce Springsteen is doing three-and-a-half-hour concerts at 74 and is still on fucking fire. People don’t want you to be average.”

Bon Jovi Revisits ‘Forever LP’ With Bruce Springsteen and More Guests

by jummy84 August 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Bon Jovi are revisiting the songs from their 2024 LP Forever with an impressive slate of guest singers, including Bruce Springsteen, Jelly Roll, Jason Isbell, Joe Elliott, Avril Lavigne, and Marcus King. They’re calling the new album Forever (Legendary Edition), and it arrives Oct. 24.

This Friday, they’re dropping “Hollow Man” with Bruce Springsteen, along with new tune “Red, White & Jersey.”

“This album is more than just a collection of collaborations, it is an album borne out of necessity,” Jon Bon Jovi says in a statement. “My vocal cord rehab was a well-documented journey that played out while releasing Forever in 2024. I was singing well in the studio for recording, but the vocal demands and rigors of touring were still slightly out of reach for me. Without an ability to tour at that time, I continued working in the studio and called on some friends, great singers, artists, musicians and also just great people.”

“The result is an album with a new viewpoint and new spirit – a collaboration album that proves we all get by in this world with a little help from our friends,” he continues. “I feel tremendous joy and gratitude releasing this album and I think it shows in the music. I can say with certainty that there is always something bigger than ME, and that’s WE.”

Bon Jovi have been off the road since 2022 due to Jon’s vocal issues, but they have played a handful of one-offs in recent years. Their most recent gig took place June 14 at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tennessee. It’s unclear if they’ll ever be able to tour again.

“I just want to get back to two and a half hours a night, four nights a week, before I’m gonna go out there on the road for real,” Jon said at the 2024 Pollstar Live! conference. “But I’m confident in my doctor.”

Earlier this month, unfounded rumors spread that Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres was stepping away from the band. Tico posted a video to the official Bon Jovi Instagram account to set the record straight.

Editor’s picks

“I’m here to dispel a lot of rumors that I’ve read,” he said. “People [have been] calling me up saying, ‘Did you retire from music, from the band?’ Well… no, i have no idea how this stuff starts. Musicians don’t retire, especially me. Me and the boys, Johnny and everybody, we’re still making music.. I mean, the best we’ve ever been. All I can tell you is, don’t listen to what you read, it’s most likely bullshit. See you later!”
