About the Film
Anxious People is based on Fredrik Backman’s 2019 bestseller and directed by Marc Forster. The movie is about a botched bank heist that unintentionally results in a hostage situation when a group of strangers finds themselves trapped during an open house, prompting stressful but informative confrontations regarding fears, secrets, and anxieties.
Jolie plays Zara, an investment banker who finds herself unwittingly in the middle of the mayhem. She is joined by Aimee Lou Wood as Grace, who has to deal with the hostages, and Jason Segel in a pivotal role. The script, written by Backman and David Magee together, assures us of a combination of drama, emotion, and incisive character-driven drama.
