Watch Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter Join Fred Again.. for First DJ Set in 16 Years

by jummy84 October 26, 2025
written by jummy84

Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter joined Fred Again.., Phantasy Sound label head Erol Alkan, and Ed Banger Records founder Pedro Winter for a surprise B2B DJ set at Paris’ Centre Pompidou late last night (Saturday, October 25). The occasion was a 20th anniversary celebration for the French record label Because Music. For his first DJ set in 16 years, Bangalter dropped Daft Punk tracks including “Rollin’ & Scratchin’,” “Digital Love,” and “Contact,” plus “Galvanise” by the Chemical Brothers and part of Jonny Greenwood’s One Battle After Another score. Check out footage and photos of the event below.

“Thomas told me in this lift on the way down to the show that the first time he fell in love with electronic music was in this building in 1992,” Fred Again.. wrote on Instagram this morning. “He also told me hasn’t played a proper set without the mask on for 24 years. I didn’t know what to say to either of those things and I still don’t. All I said to him at the end is that I hope it isn’t 24 years til the next.”

Bangalter made his last live appearance—along with his Daft Punk counterpart Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo—during the Weeknd’s performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards. He shared the solo album Mythologies in 2023. Daft Punk joined Fortnite earlier this year, adding songs from their catalog and their iconic TB3 and GM08 helmets to the video game.

Vidya Balan to Join Rajinikanth in Jailer 2?

by jummy84 October 26, 2025
written by jummy84

Bollywood star Vidya Balan is ready to make her grand entry into Tamil cinema. The actress, known for powerful roles in Kahaani, Paa, and Hey Baby, will be reportedly seen alongside superstar Rajinikanth in Jailer 2, one of the most awaited Tamil films of 2026. Though she appeared briefly in Nerkonda Paarvai (2019), this will be her first major Tamil film role.

According to some reports, Vidya Balan plays the role of veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty’s eldest daughter. Mithun will be seen as the main villain opposite Rajinikanth. The insider added, “Vidya’s character is strong, emotional, and deeply tied to the film’s core conflict. Her presence adds a new layer to the story.” The shooting of Jailer 2 is currently taking place in Chennai, and the team plans to move to Goa in late October for the next schedule, which will continue for nearly two months. Post-production work is expected to begin early next year.

Fans recently got a peek behind the scenes when Sun Pictures, the production house, shared a video from the Diwali shoot on social media. The clip featured Rajinikanth interacting warmly with the crew, Vidya filming her first Tamil scene, and director Nelson Dilipkumar giving cues for an action sequence. The post was captioned, “Wishing everyone a sparkling Deepavali from the sets of Jailer 2.”

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer. It blends high-octane action with comedy and drama. Apart from Rajinikanth and Vidya, the film stars Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa in key roles, with S. J. Suryah joining the cast.
The film will also feature cameos by Shiva Rajkumar, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Mithun Chakraborty. Jailer 2 is slated for release on June 12, 2026. This marks a reunion between Rajinikanth and Mithun Chakraborty after decades, the two last shared screen space in Bhrashtachar (1989) and Bhagya Devta (1997).

Wilco, Billy Bragg To Join Forces Again At Solid Sound

by jummy84 October 23, 2025
written by jummy84

Between 1998 and 2012, Wilco and British troubadour Billy Bragg released three Mermaid Avenue albums inspired by a trunk of unpublished Woody Guthrie lyrics uncovered by his family. However, beyond a handful of brief shared appearances, the musicians never worked their way through those most of the songs in a live setting.

That will change next summer, when Wilco and Bragg will finally team up onstage at the band’s long-running Solid Sound festival. The event will return June 26-28 to MASS MoCA in North Adams, Ma., with the Mermaid Avenue live celebration set for opening night. Tickets are on sale now.

“The world needs all the Woody Guthrie it can get,” says Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy. “We’re thrilled that we get to bring these songs to life with Billy.” Adds Bragg, “there’s an abiding love out there for the Mermaid Avenue albums, so I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with Wilco to bring Woody’s words to life once again.”

When folk pioneer Guthrie died from Huntington’s disease in 1967, he left behind more than a thousand sets of lyrics that were housed in a trunk. His daughter Nora left them undisturbed until 1995, when she asked longtime fan Bragg if he’d be interested in setting some of the words to music. Bragg suggested Wilco join him in the endeavor, which first bore fruit with the acclaimed Mermaid Avenue in 1998.

A second volume was released in 2000, and in 2012, The Complete Sessions boxed set arrived with a third disc of previously unheard outtakes from the original sessions. Wilco has long featured Mermaid Avenue material such as “California Stars,” “Hesitating Beauty,” “Hoodoo Voodoo” and “Airline to Heaven” in its own live sets.

“What could’ve been an embalming is instead a boozy séance, conjuring Guthrie’s ghost with some lost song lyrics and a clan who employ the mythic folkie as mirror,” SPIN wrote of the 1998 album. “The apparition rocks, sighs, casts a vote for Jesus, propositions Ingrid Bergman and generally makes everyone look good.”

Choosing the opening night of Solid Sound for the debut full live Wilco/Bragg pairing is apropos considering Tweedy and company have routinely drawn from their bag of tricks for the occasion. Indeed, Wilco has played sets with all rarities, all covers, front-to-back album plays and even a karaoke evening where it served as the backing band for specially chosen fan vocalists.

In related news, Tweedy will be a couch guest on tonight’s (Oct. 23) episode of The Daily Show. He’s in the midst of tour on his own and with his eponymous solo band, which will run through Nov. 21 in Madison, Wi., and then resume Feb. 11 in Madrid.

For now, Wilco’s only other non-Solid Sound performances for 2026 will be at its Sky Blue Sky festival in Riviera Maya, Mexico, from Jan. 15-18. That event will also feature Dinosaur Jr., Dr. Dog, MJ Lenderman, Yo La Tengo and Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy playing the music of R.E.M.

Billy Magnussen, Lulu Wilson Join Joe Lynch’s ‘Buzzkill’

by jummy84 October 23, 2025
written by jummy84

EXCLUSIVE: Billy Magnussen and Lulu Wilson have signed to co-star in Joe Lynch’s horror comedy Buzzkill ahead of an early 2026 shoot in Texas, as Anonymous Content and The Veterans join forces to launch sales on the film at the AFM.

Billed as a blend of A Quiet Place and Another Round, the movie is set in a small Texas town terrorized by a creature that can only be seen by people who are drunk.

Magnussen stars as recently widowed and recovering alcoholic Sheriff Red, who launches an investigation as locals begin turning up murdered and dismembered one by one, discovering that the monster feeds on the blood alcohol content of its victims.

With the annual brewery festival fast approaching, the whole town is about to get wasted. Red must face his demons and pick up the bottle one last time to take down the monster and save his town for good. Wilson co-stars as Lydia, Red’s vengeful little sister.

Lynch – whose previous credits include action-thriller Everly and action-horror Mayhem as well as Netflix’s Point Blank, Shudder’s original fantastic horror anthology Creepshow (2021), and the pilot episode of Tales from the Void (2024) – will direct from a screenplay written by Colin McLaughlin.

Brothers Dane and Cole Eckerle are producing through their company Bad Grey, the credits of which include titles like Last Straw and Mother, May I?.

Individually, Dane produced I Love My Dad which won the Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize at SXSW in 2022 and then sold to Magnolia. He also served as an EP on Greedy People with Joseph Gordon Levitt, Lily James, Himesh Patel, Simon Rex and Jim Gaffigan, which was released by Lionsgate last year.

“Colin has crafted a story that’s equal parts hilarious, scary and action-packed — an entertaining romp from start to finish,” said Dane Eckerle.

“Joe Lynch’s track record and ability to create high-octane genre chaos makes him the perfect filmmaker for the job. Add our stars, Billy and Lulu, plus our partners at Anonymous Content and The Veterans — and we couldn’t think of a better team to be brewing this movie alongside.”

Jonathan Schwartz and Nick Shumaker will produce on behalf of Anonymous Content with David Levine executive producing. Magnussen will also produce under his company HappyBad Bungalow, alongside partners Anne Hollister and Shane Andries who serve as co-executive producers.

AC Studios division AC Independent and The Veterans will have a sizzle reel and script available for buyers at the AFM. The Veterans will handle international territories and AC Independent will sell U.S. rights with UTA Independent Film Group.

Magnussen broke through with Rob Marshall’s Into the Woods with other credits including Guy Richie’s Aladdin, the Black Mirror TV Series, and No Time to Die.

He also starred as Pleakley in Disney’s live-action hit Lilo & Stitch and Road House alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor. He was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor for his role in the play, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. He will next star as the lead in AMC’s upcoming 2026 series The Audacity from creator Jonathan Glatzer.

Wilson will be seen next in an upcoming Hulu feature alongside Gaten Matarazzo and Sean Giambrone, directed by comedy duo BriTANicK, while she is best known for her horror roles in Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016) and Annabelle: Creation (2017), as well as Mike Flanagan Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House (2018), and The Fall of the House of Usher (2023) and the soon-to-be triptych Becky (2020), The Wrath of Becky (2023) and the upcoming third instalment.

Magnussen is repped by UTA, Anonymous Content and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern. Wilson is repped by UTA, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner Auerbach Hynick Jaime LeVine Sample & Klein. Lynch is repped by Anonymous Content and Eclipse Law.

Watch Waxahatchee join Rilo Kiley for ‘With Arms Outstretched’ at final reunion tour show

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Rilo Kiley brought out Waxahatchee to round out their reunion tour with a version of ‘With Arms Outstretched’ – check it out below.

Jenny Lewis and co. have been playing the ‘Sometimes When You’re On, You’re Really Fucking On Tour’ in the US this year, their first extended run of shows since 2008, although they did play a one-off gig for a livestream benefit in 2021.

The final date in the run came on Saturday night (October 18) at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, and Waxahatchee – aka Katie Crutchfield – served as the opening act, having been a self-confessed superfan of the group.

Together, they sang ‘With Arms Outstretched’, a fan favourite track from Rilo Kiley’s second album ‘The Execution Of All Things’, released in 2002. Watch footage of the collaboration here:

Rilo Kiley played:

‘The Execution Of All Things’
‘Spectacular Views’
‘Paint’s Peeling’
‘The Moneymaker’
‘Dreamworld’
‘I Never’
‘Glendora’
‘Close Call’
‘It’s A Hit’
‘Does He Love You?’
‘Ripchord’
‘The Good That Won’t Come Out’
‘Silver Lining’
‘With Arms Outstretched’ (with Waxahatchee)
‘A Better Son/Daughter’
‘Portions For Foxes’
‘Let Me Back In’
‘Breakin’ Up’
‘Pictures Of Success’

Jenny Lewis told NME in 2019 that she was open to getting the band back together, and then in 2023, the singer spoke to NME again about the prospect of a Rilo Kiley reunion, dismissing immediate hopes by saying: “I’ve got a lot on my plate […] We’re not talking about it, but it’s not off the table.”

Although live shows have been few and far between since 2011, Rilo Kiley did reissue their 1999 self-titled debut album in 2020 and made it available on streaming services for the first time.

As for Waxahatchee, her sixth studio album ‘Tigers Blood’ was released last year, which NME awarded the full five stars. “These songs offer a more adult and grounded perspective than ones like ‘Lone Star Lake’ and ‘Evil Spawn’; they’re about the person who feels like home rather than the one who gets your blood pumping,” the review read. “It’s a nice counterweight that feels emblematic of ‘Tigers Blood’ — it’s a burning fire, and it’s a warm summer evening at once.”

It was later named as one of NME’s 50 best albums of 2024.

Furry friends join festive season in sherwanis, sarees and lehengas

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

The second half of the year in India brims with lights, colours and the usual festive excitement. As webring out our traditional best, from shimmering sarees to tailored sherwanis, our furry friends are no longer being left behind. Across India, pet brands are now designing intricate sherwanis, tiny lehengas, and cute blouses, ensuring that cats and dogs can celebrate the season in equally stylish fashion.

Furry friends join festive season in sherwanis, sarees and lehengas

Thechowmeow, a Rajasthan-basedbrand delivering pan India, dresses furry babies in blouses, lehengas, and sherwanis. “For me, including pets in festivals by making them wear traditional outfits is just a way of showing love to your furry friends that they are also our family members. I have gotten many orders for matching outfits this season, like lehenga choli, sherwani with dhoti, and anarkali dresses, all under ₹1,000,” says founder Vandana Suman.

She uses laces for detailing and matching fabrics. For shimmery or other fabrics, they always use a lining inside, along with velcro and straps to adjust, so the pet feels comfortable while walking and sitting.

Shreya Goyal, founder of Delhi-based Furrvanity, tells us that they often get colour swatches, outfit pictures, and even design references from clients who want their pets’ looks to match theirs perfectly. “This year, we’re really going all out with variety and craftsmanship. We have some unique pieces like Maharashtrian sarees, kurtas with half jackets, intricately embroidered lehengas, anarkalis, and angrakhas. Our sarees have been an absolute hit this year, catching everyone’s eye,” she adds.

The festive range starts from ₹999 and goes up to ₹5,000, depending on the design, detailing, and level of customisation.

WRAPINFUR, an online pet brand, lines their outfits with pure cotton to protect sensitive pet skin, with prices starting from ₹649 “We use cotton lining inside if we are using fabric and make sure it is designed in such a way that it doesn’t irritate the pet. We also provide a hassle-free size exchange, since many pet parents are often unsure about their pet’s exact measurements,” says founder Chinmaye Agarwal.

It’s a sentiment that resonates deeply with pet parents as well. Mumbai-based Simran Singh dresses her beagle, Poppins in festive clothing in a new colour each year to see which one suits him best. “We think he looks the cutest in a bandhgala kurta. Diwali just feels incomplete if Poppins isn’t wearing a sparkly kurta for the evening puja,” she adds.

Delhi-based Priyanka Kapoor dresses her golden retriever, Alex, in matching outfits, often customised by her local tailor. “I love dressing him up, but his comfort comes first,” she says.

Jennifer Aniston hesitated to join Saturday Night Live

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

14 October 2025

Jennifer Aniston had a “self-righteous attitude” towards joining Saturday Night Live.

Jennifer Aniston could’ve joined the comedy show

The 56-year-old actress nearly joined the long-running sketch show before she was cast as Rachel Green in Friends, and Jennifer now admits that she was a little bit hesitant at the thought of joining the Saturday Night Live cast.

During an appearance on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, Jennifer shared: “I always thought I was such hot s***. The story of that is all very confusing.

“Honestly, today I’d have to ask Lorne, because I remember, I was in New York City, and I had a meeting with Lorne Michaels, and I ran into [Adam] Sandler and [David] Spade in the room right outside. And I knew Sandler forever.”

Jennifer was reluctant to join such a “male-dominated” show at the time. And ultimately, she was offered a starring role in Friends instead.

She explained: “I don’t know why I had this self-righteous attitude of ‘I don’t know if women are treated the way they should be treated on this show.’ It’s a very male-dominated [show,] I would love to be here if it was in the Gilda Radner day.

“I mean, this is the brain that semi-remembers things that are back that far. Something like that. I can’t remember, but I just remember Friends then happened.”

Jennifer previously revealed sow she reacted to the opportunity to join the hit comedy show.

The movie star told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021: “I was so young and dumb and I went into Lorne’s office and I was like, ‘I hear women are not respected on this show’. I don’t remember exactly what I said next, but it was something like, ‘I would prefer if it were like the days of Gilda Radner and Jane Curtin.’

“I mean, it was such a boys’ club back then, but who the f*** was I to be saying this to Lorne Michaels?! So yes, adorably that happened and I’ve hosted Saturday Night Live a couple of times, and I love it so much.”

Clairo, Lucy Dacus, Nao, More Join No Music for Genocide Boycott

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

On Oct. 10, the No Music for Genocide collective announced that Clairo, Lucy Dacus, Nao, and more have joined their ranks. Last month, the decentralized organization kicked off a boycott movement protesting what a United Nations commission and other organizations have deemed Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza in their war with Hamas following the attacks of Oct. 7, 2023. The No Music for Genocide boycott unites artists, labels, and music rights-holders in geo-blocking their music from Israel. Wolf Alice, Of Monsters and Men, Nilüfer Yanya, and Jorja Smith’s label Famm were also among new participants announced on Oct. 10 the same day a new ceasefire agreement took effect.

A representative for No Music for Genocide told Rolling Stone, “We’re hopeful that this new ceasefire will put an end to the worst of the worst, if Israel doesn’t violate it, but our urgency remains unchanged. The ‘peace plan,’ imposed on Palestinians under the threat of continued genocide, offers no guarantees or credible paths for a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza; the end of Israeli apartheid and occupation; Palestinian rights to self-determination, self-governance, and the return of refugees; nor holding Israeli war criminals accountable.” The groups says over a 1,000 artists and labels have joined their boycott. According to Reuters, this first phase of the Trump administration’s plan to end the war gives Israeli troops 24 hours to pull from urban areas of Gaza, although they will still hold more than half of the area.

Trending Stories

No Music for Genocide launched on Sep. 17 with artists such as Faye Webster, Arca, MIKE, Japanese Breakfast, and redveil, participating. On Oct. 3, it announced that acts like Hayley Williams, Marina, Idles, Muna, Obongjayar, and many more joined as well. According to the group, Williams and Paramore — who had joined the boycott but found that their labels Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group overrode their geo-block in what they called a glitch — have gotten most of their music removed from streaming services in Israel as well.

“Many of our peers have felt, like ourselves, unsure how to use music in this moment,” organizers told Rolling Stone in September, citing their aims to “help reject political repression, shift public opinion toward justice, and refuse the art-washing and normalization of any company or nation that commits crimes against humanity.” They added that, “Our first goal with No Music For Genocide is to inspire others to reclaim their agency and direct their influence toward a tangible act.”

Variety, Panera, Digitas, Nicky Campbell Join Advertising Week Panel

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Executives from Variety, Panera and Digitas, plus creator Nicky Campbell will take the Advertising Week stage on Oct. 9 for the “Leveraging Moments to Create Moments” panel. The group will share the strategy behind Variety’s partnership with Panera, as the two worked to create an organic, influencer-driven campaign promoting the restaurant chain’s new Croissant Toast Sandwich and limited-edition Croissant Clutch. The campaign was tied to fashion’s biggest night of the year: the Met Gala, which was held in May.

Speakers include Dea Lawrence, chief operating and marketing officer for Variety; Amy Lanzi, CEO of Digitas North America; Nicky Campbell, creator; and Beth Ringer, vice president of media strategy at Panera Bread.

The effort consisted of a three-part social-first video campaign along with alignment to Variety’s red carpet coverage of the night. The campaign demonstrates how brands can anchor themselves to cultural tentpoles to create moments that resonate far beyond the night itself.

Variety’s Panera partnership featured a Get Ready With Me style video from Nicky Campbell. “The integration of brand, marketing, and influencers is key to building a popular, well-thought-out campaign,” said Lawrence. “Our collaboration was a seamless fit, driving buzz and excitement for Panera’s new Croissant Toast Sandwich and clutch bag in an organic way.”

The panelists will share insights on how to harness hallmark moments for brand recognition, as well as how to combine brands with new sectors through innovative thinking and engage influencers in dynamic, culturally relevant ways. The conversation will take place on the Marketplace stage at 12:30 pm.
