“We all perform in some way… George has a real understanding of that & conveys it with incredible truth and honesty.” Netflix has revealed a making of featurette for the film Jay Kelly, from filmmaker Noah Baumbach, starring the one-and-only George Clooney as mega famous actor Jay Kelly. It first premiered at the 2025 Venice & Telluride Film Festivals, and begins playing in theaters starting this week before it’s on Netflix in December. Jay Kelly and his devoted manager Ron embark upon a whirlwind, profound journey across Europe. They confront choices they’ve made, relationships with loved ones and the legacies they will leave behind. The huge ensemble cast features George Clooney as Jay Kelly and Adam Sandler as his long-time manager, plus Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Grace Edwards, Stacy Keach, Jim Broadbent, Patrick Wilson, Greta Gerwig, Eve Hewson, Alba Rohrwacher, Josh Hamilton, Lenny Henry, Emily Mortimer, & many more. “You’re never alone.” “Really? I think I’m always alone.” This is a wonderful film about being an actor, and about being human and how making movies connects us all anyway. This featurette focuses on Clooney as an actor, with a few behind-the-scenes glimpses. Mostly it features other cast & crew talking about how much they enjoyed working with George on this & his humility.

Here’s the new George Clooney featurette for Noah Baumbach’s film Jay Kelly, from Netflix’s YouTube:

Television actress Mahhi Vij and her husband Jay Bhanushali have once again become the subject of separation rumors. For months, speculation has been rife that the couple’s 14-year marriage had hit rock bottom with some reports even claiming that they had signed divorce papers between July and August 2025. However, putting all rumors to rest, Mahhi Vij has now issued a strong statement and threatened to take legal action against those spreading fake news about her marriage.

Mahhi Vij On Divorce Rumors

Mahhi took to her Instagram stories to express her anger over a viral post that claimed she and Jay had officially parted ways. The post read, “Is it all over? After 14 years of marriage, Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali are getting a divorce. A source has confirmed that the divorce papers have been signed and everything was finalized between July and August.” Responding to this, Mahhi slammed the baseless rumor, writing, “Don’t post false news. I will take legal action against this.”

Her statement comes as a clear warning to gossip pages and online portals that continue to speculate about her personal life without verification. While Mahhi’s clarification has silenced ongoing chatter, many fans still wonder why Mahhi and Jay are rarely seen together in recent months. Their daughter, Tara, often appears in separate videos, sometimes with her father, other times with Mahhi, fueling curiosity about their relationship status.

Reports also surfaced that during Tara’s birthday celebration, both parents attended but appeared distant. However, such rumors have circulated before, and Mahhi has consistently denied them, calling out fake narratives about her marriage. While Mahhi Vij has categorically denied the divorce rumors and warned of legal action, fans hope the couple soon shares a united appearance to clear the air once and for all. Until then, her firm stance serves as a reminder to respect celebrities’ privacy and verify information before spreading it online.

Mahhi Vij REACTS To Divorce Rumours With Jay Bhanushali; Slams False Narratives

written by jummy84

Mahhi Vij has finally spoken out about the persistent divorce rumours surrounding her and her husband, Jay Bhanushali. The couple, who married in 2011, has been the subject of speculation about their relationship status, especially after reports of a possible separation surfaced online. Although they have been active on social media, they initially chose not to address the rumours directly. However, Mahhi recently broke her silence on the matter.

While Mahhi did not explicitly confirm or deny the divorce speculations, she also did not dismiss them entirely. Both she and Jay Bhanushali have avoided issuing any official statements regarding their marriage amid the circulating reports. Mahhi did, however, respond strongly to a social media post that cited a source claiming they were parting ways. In her Instagram caption, she warned against spreading false narratives, stating, “Don’t post false narratives. I will take legal action against this (sic).”

Earlier, Mahhi Vij addressed the rumors more openly during an interview with Hauterrfly. When asked about her marriage, she questioned the necessity of discussing such private matters publicly, asking, “Even if it is the case, why should I tell you? Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer’s fee?” She expressed frustration over how society tends to overanalyze personal issues, saying, “Why do people make such a big deal out of somebody’s divorce or separation? I see comments like ‘Mahi is decent, Jay is like this,’ or ‘Jay is good, Mahi is like that.’ People just want to blame someone. Do you even know the truth? What do you know?”

Reflecting on societal perceptions of single women, she added, “People look at single mothers and divorcees differently. They assume there will be drama, that it will turn into a big fight, or that they’ll start throwing mud at each other. There’s a lot of pressure from society. Just live and let live.”

Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali, who tied the knot in 2011, are proud parents to their daughter Tara, born in 2019, and foster children Rajveer and Khushi, whom they welcomed into their family in 2017.

Ex-NFL Star Jay Graham Arrested In Nashville Sting After Allegedly Trying To Pay 16-Year-Old For S*x – Fired From Coaching Job

Former NFL running back and Tennessee high school coach Herman “Jay” Graham III was arrested after allegedly attempting to solicit an underage girl. Police records reviewed by Us Weekly show the 50-year-old was booked on prostitution and patronizing charges involving a minor between 15 and 18 on Wednesday, October 15.

Authorities say Graham was one of three men caught during a police sting operation in Nashville. According to WSMV, undercover officers posted ads on adult websites, and Graham allegedly responded, arranging to meet someone he believed to be a 16-year-old girl for $120 at a local hotel. He was arrested after reportedly handing over the payment.

Graham, who had no prior criminal record, was hired at Centennial High School in Franklin, Tennessee, in July 2025 as a substitute teacher and coach before becoming a full-time employee. Following his arrest, Principal Dr. Clarissa Haymon notified parents, writing, “Our head football coach Jay Graham was arrested today during a sting operation in Nashville on two felony charges of patronizing prostitution and solicitation of a minor to commit statutory r@pe.”

Haymon confirmed Graham was fired from the coaching staff and suspended without pay from his teaching role, adding, “He will not be allowed on our campus.” She also told families that law enforcement found no threat to students and that counselors would be available for support.

Before coaching, Graham played for the Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, and Green Bay Packers, retiring in 2002 before joining the Canadian Football League. He later coached at several Tennessee programs, including UT Chattanooga, UT Martin, South Carolina, Florida State, and the University of Tennessee. Jay Som Blows Up Her Old Formula on ‘Belong’ » PopMatters

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Jay Som has been missing, but Jay Som never even left. It’s been a while since we’ve heard new Jay Som music. Yet, the irony of saying the music project of Melina Duterte has been missing for the past six years is that Duterte has been just about everywhere during that time. Since the release of 2019’s full-length Anak Ko, the project has been essentially on hiatus, but the principal member, Melina Duterte, has been popping up all over the indie rock landscape. Talking about Duterte’s rising profile, in 2018, I said, “She may not get recognized in random aisles of Target, but she is definitely in the back of the mind of all the indie rock nerds.”

Well, in 2025, she probably still won’t get recognized in the aisles of Target, yet she most likely has a part of a few records on their shelves. Whether it’s Lucy Dacus, Boygenius, or Troye Sivan, Duterte has been putting in her time with other projects. So to put it another way, Belong marks the return of the Jay Som name after a long period of quiet without rest. It sounds like the product of a person who spent years working on their craft, and its curated sounds showcase someone who knows how the studio works on both sides of the glass. The album may not end up being some fans’ favorite, but it is the project’s most adventurous release by a visible mile.

The Jay Som project has historically been a platform for Duterte to express her feelings while showcasing stellar guitar work. Sometimes she rips, like on Everybody Works’ “One More Time, Please” where Duterte drops the line, “I’m not okay / I don’t feel like I’m here / We’re not the same” and follows it with a crisp and smoldering guitar lead.

The same could be said for Anak Ko’s “Peace Out”, where Duterte says, “Won’t you try to forgive / Won’t you try to be anyone else?” and follows it with the smokiest build-up and blow-out since her previous album. Other times, the guitars build an impenetrable wall of beautiful noise (“1 Billion Dogs”) and occasionally, she rides an uncannily smooth strum worthy of a joyful road trip montage (The perfectly titled, “Nighttime Drive”). Up until and including “Anak Ko,” Jay Som focused on writing emotionally charged guitar songs, both quiet and loud.

With Belong, Duterte blows up that formula just enough to stir up the dust. The opener, “Cards on the Table”, rolls in on a pulsing electronic beat, which Dutertre herself describes as a “Drake/Hovvdy” beat. The second track, “Float”, initially appears to snap back to a guitar-forward indie rock sound, but upon repeated listens, a subtle radio-pop sheen emerges. This song could slip into an early 2000s alternative rock playlist without notice.

This trend continues with “What You Need”, mixing poppy alternative rock sounds with all the bells and whistles supplied by a skilled and experienced producer. The same can be said for “Drop A”. Ear candy slips in and out of the frame, begging for a replay. Later songs, such as “Appointments” and “Past Lives”, add variety with an unusual dedication to a ballad format.

The back quarter of the album breaks open a newly introduced experimental side of the band. One track is a noise collage, one is off-speed, and another seems to get lost in its own smoke, devolving into a noisy dirge that then falls apart into wacked-out studio chatter. Fans coming for the old formula will not be completely satisfied with Belong, but if they find a good chunk of the record does just what they want. The guitar may have taken a more minor role, but the production and attention to the tiniest details throughout Belong show a new level of artistry.

One thing has not changed, though: Duterte is still dumping feelings. Nearly every song on the record gives us a look into a life full of misgivings, toxic passivity, or deep longing. The aforementioned “Cards on the Table” states, “Say it. You let me down.” on “Appointments”, she whispers, “I don’t wanna cry.” “Drop A” finds her singing, “I can’t stand that something is pulling us apart.” “Want It All” closes it all out with the least descriptive but somehow most evocative lyrics on the LP: “I think you wanna say the thing you wanna say.” Duterte is still digging in her gray feelings bag for Belong—nothing new in this department.

Duterte chose the title Belong as a positive response to some of the negative feelings she was processing during her return to the studio as Jay Som. Struggling with imposter syndrome, she felt a lack of belonging. We’ve all been there: “Why am I here? I barely have any idea how to feed myself and take care of this body, so how in the world could I complete all of this stuff set out in front of me?” What’s funny, though, is that Duterte belongs to so many groups: bandmates, multi-instrumentalists, songwriters, producers, friends, humans. She’s no imposter. For the sake of this review, though, let’s put a spotlight on one category in which Duterte definitely belongs: Artists.

bitchy | Amal Clooney wore a pink Tamara Ralph to the LFF ‘Jay Kelly’ premiere

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

The BFI London Film Festival has been humming along for the past week. There have been some good premieres, but weirdly, most of the premiere fashion has kind of sucked. This is my justification for not covering most of the premieres, my bad. But these days, you can always count on Amal Clooney to bring some showgirl glamour. Amal’s showgirl aesthetic predates Taylor Swift’s by a good eight years, in fact. In any case, here are some photos from the big Jay Kelly premiere at the BFI LFF. I’m also including photos of Noah Baumbach (the writer-director) and Greta Gerwig, who wore an incredibly unfortunate suit. Sidenote: it’s very funny to see this film making the rounds at film festivals, because it looks like the dreck that came out of a dying studio with six screenwriters. They’re seriously pushing George for Best Actor, I guess. I predict a Golden Globe nomination and nothing else.

As for Amal’s showgirl look, this is Tamara Ralph Couture. Amal surprisingly loves pinks, and while this paler pink doesn’t look bad on her, she definitely looks better in a more saturated color. I’m not crazy about the tiered skirt, but that’s not specific to this look (I just don’t like tiered skirts). I also feel sorry for tall women – they should be able to wear feathers without anyone making a Big Bird comment. But yeah, the feathers are very Big Bird. Also: Amal recently took eight inches off her hair (according to Vogue). It looks SO MUCH healthier.

Meanwhile, George recently confirmed that everyone is on board for Ocean’s 14, the fourth film in a franchise which most people forgot about. Back in the day, I liked Ocean’s 11. I remember thinking Ocean’s 12 had a terrible script, and I remember very little of Ocean’s 13. Well, George claims that Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle are all on board for the fourth film, and that they have a “great” script. He also said: “We just got the budget approved at Warner Bros. and we’re trying to set up. It’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us. Probably start in about nine or 10 months, shooting.” Oh, good. Brad Pitt the (credibly accused) domestic abuser, back together with George Clooney the ratf–ker.

PS… Someone pointed out that George has been wearing lifts these days and now I can’t unsee it.

George Clooney pulls from personal experience to play filmstar in ‘Jay Kelly’

LONDON, – Two-time Oscar winner George Clooney drew from his own life to play a Hollywood legend in his new movie “Jay Kelly.”

The comedy-drama stars Clooney as ageing global superstar Jay Kelly and combines humour with contemplation on the cost of celebrity and fame.

“There are elements certainly about the experience that I’ve had, but not so many regrets, which I think is ‘thank God’,” Clooney, 64, said while attending the movie’s London Film Festival premiere on Friday.

“It’s personal, but I’m not as unhappy as that guy. I have a family that I love and kids who I think still love me. They’re eight, there’s time to screw it up. And I have friends that I don’t pay.”

Directed by Noah Baumbach, who co-wrote the screenplay with actress Emily Mortimer, “Jay Kelly” sees the titular character reflect on his past and present as he travels to Europe with his large entourage.

As the group, including his publicist Liz, played by Laura Dern, and hair and makeup artist Candy , slowly disintegrates along the journey. Kelly’s loyal manager Ron, portrayed by Adam Sandler, stays by his side and takes stock of his own life.

“You see somebody who, when they make a movie, it takes a lot of time away from your family. I’ve always tried to bring family around as much as possible,” said Sandler. “And like anyone who works for a living, you’re away from some stuff you wish you weren’t missing. It’s dealing with that pain and finding out the best balance.”

Baumbach, whose previous films include “Marriage Story” and “White Noise” and who co-wrote the hit movie “Barbie” with his wife Greta Gerwig, said he set out to make a movie about an actor in crisis.

“I think it was a way to tell a story about all of us in some way,” said Baumbach. “An actor was a kind of stand-in for all of us who are trying to figure out the gap between how we present ourselves to the world and who we may actually be, and as we get older, also how we contend with that.”

“Jay Kelly”, which features a starry supporting cast including Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Louis Partridge, Isla Fisher, Jim Broadbent and Gerwig, receives a limited theatrical release in November and starts streaming on Netflix on December 5. Netflix Inc

“All I can do is make my music, because music has always been my destiny.” Sony Pictures has debuted the official trailer for a music movie called Clika, made by filmmaker Michael Greene. A small town musician from Yuba Country, California pushes to carve out a place for himself in the new wave of Mexican-American music after a clip of him performing one of his songs goes viral. This film was originally supposed to open in October this year, but it has been pushed back for release sometime in early 2026 instead. Chito tries carve out a place for himself in the new wave of Mexican-American music. As his star begins to rise, Chito finds himself entangled in a high-stakes world where fame comes with a price. In a story of ambition, tradition, and self-discovery, Chito is ultimately forced to confront the choices he’s made in his relentless pursuit of the American dream. From producer Jimmy Humilde, Clika stars Jay Dee as Chito, DoKNOW, Laura Lopez, Nana Ponceleon, with Peter Greene, Percy “Master P” Miller, and Eric Roberts. This looks a bit cheesy in obvious Hollywood ways, rough around the edges, but seems like a worthwhile story anyway.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Michael Greene’s movie Clika, direct from Sony’s YouTube:

Paramount Skydance Hires Jay Askinasi as Chief Revenue Officer

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Paramount Skydance has recruited Jay Askinasi, most recently Roku’s top advertising exec, as chief revenue officer.

Askinasi will start at Paramount Nov. 3, dual-reporting to CEO David Ellison and president Jeff Shell. According to the company, the CRO position is a newly created role “designed to lead the company’s monetization strategy and strengthen its long-term positioning as a next-generation media company” and to push toward a unified advertising platform. John Halley remains in his role as president of Paramount Advertising, reporting to Askinasi.

Paramount’s portfolio of brands includes CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, BET, Paramount Networks, and streaming services Paramount+ and Pluto TV.

Askinasi is latest senior hire to join Ellison’s executive team since the Paramount-Skydance deal closed in early August. Others include Makan Delrahim, who advised Skydance on its acquisition of Paramount Global, as chief legal officer and former Meta exec Dane Glasgow as chief product officer.

Askinasi worked at Roku for less than two years, where he was senior VP, head of global media revenue and growth. At the streaming-platform company, he led ad sales, including the entire go-to-market organization, enterprise partnerships and platform monetization. Prior to joining Roku in April 2024, he was CEO of Publicis Media Exchange U.S., overseeing media investment strategy for the holding company and its brands, including monetization of its Epsilon assets. Before that Askinasi led agency and platform partnerships for AT&T and was president of RUN, a vendor of mobile-focused programmatic ad tech.

Shell, in a prepared statement, said Askinasi “brings a unique and highly relevant mix of experience across ad tech, platforms, data, agencies, and startups — all grounded in a deep understanding of the media and converged video landscape. Jay is widely respected for transforming underutilized assets and driving modern, digital-first commercial strategies. His leadership will be key as we accelerate growth and innovation across our business.”

Askinasi commented, “This is a pivotal moment of transformation for the industry, and Paramount is clearly positioning itself at the forefront of that change. I’m excited to help shape a next-generation digital monetization engine – one that can stand alongside the biggest tech platforms – while preserving the creative excellence and cultural influence that define Paramount’s iconic content.”

Jay Electronica: A Written Testimony: Leaflets / A Written Testimony: Power at the Rate of My Dreams / A Written Testimony: Mars, the Inhabited Planet Album Review

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Conspiracies aside, Jay Electronica hasn’t missed a step when it comes to craft. “Ashes to Ashes,” from Power at the Rate of My Dreams, is arguably the most beautiful track out of the collection and hits on all the notes that make engaging the New Orleans native worth the frequent absences and head-scratching beliefs. He takes the Brazilian icon Jorge Ben Jor’s 1969 hit “Domingas,” slows it down, and delivers a mesmerizing stream-of-consciousness verse about his approach to life. “The long road to one’s own destiny ain’t paved/This treacherous path through the wilderness is only for the brave,” he starts, before honoring enslaved ancestors and leaning on that lineage to find peace in the fact that, when his time comes, he will be immortalized in his work. “Letter to Mars,” from Mars, The Inhabited Planet, is addressed to his daughter he shares with Erykah Badu. Originally released as an outtake from A Written Testimony in October 2020 on his own Discord channel, the song marks the beginning of the third and final installment of this new chapter. On it, he speaks of how long it’s taken him to resurface—a process that, by his estimation, was informed by a constant push-and-pull of dark and light forces within. Vocals from Thom Yorke’s “Bloom (Live From Electric Lady Studios)” add melancholic effect.

At his best, Electronica is painfully human. Throughout the duration of a project (and sometimes a single song), he goes from someone burdened by the weight of life, justifiably reclusive, to someone whose chest swells with spiritual belief, commitment to community, and trust in his artistic merit. He reveals these ebbs and flows lyrically, but is just as effective at communicating through voice recordings, selected film scenes, and knowing when to let a track breathe without his rapping present. Leaflets track “Four Billion, Four Hundred Million (4,400,000,000) / The Worst Is Yet to Come” begins with a clip of Stevie Wonder making an impromptu theme song for Soul Train in 1973.
