Shah Rukh Khan takes a jab at Karan Johar, asks ‘Are you running for ‘Ozempic’? Filmmaker has the perfect comeback

At a recent award night held in Ahmedabad, a light-hearted moment on stage stirred more than just laughter when Shah Rukh Khan made a cheeky remark at co-host Karan Johar. During the event, SRK made comments on Karan’s transformed physique, hinting at his significant weight loss, and jokingly mentioned the popular weight loss drug ‘Ozempic’, to which KJo had the perfect comeback.

Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar

The filmmaker took a sly shot in return, weaving in the name ‘Wankhede’, a clear reference to the controversy surrounding Sameer Wankhede, the former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official who has been in the media spotlight due to a recent lawsuit against SRK’s son Aryan Khan’s show The Ba***ds Of Bollywood.

SRK was seen asking Karan, “Bahaut alag lag rahe ho,” to which Karan responded with, “Zyada exercise karne laga hoon aajkal.” SRK then asked, “Oh, you’re working out, are you planning to go for Ozempic?” instantly correcting himself, “Ahh Olympics”, leaving Karan speechless.

Karan, known for his witty comebacks, said, “Haan, Wankhede mein hai Olympics. Aaoge?” In interviews following his weight loss, KJo has consistently pushed back against rumours that he used Ozempic or similar medications, attributing his transformation to health, medical adjustments, and lifestyle discipline. He has said, “That’s a lot of work, and it’s not medication like the rumor suggests” and emphasized his commitment to being “healthy, eating well, and exercising.”

The 70th Filmfare award moment showcased the two’s witty way of reacting to the news around them.

Since her entry into Bigg Boss 19, Malti Chahar has completely changed the dynamics of the game. In just a few days, Malti’s sharp strategy and fearless gameplay have overshadowed many contestants, making her a strong contender. Her immediate targets included Tanya Mittal and Gaurav Khanna, with Tanya becoming the focus of her intense gameplay. The rivalry between Malti Chahar and Tanya Mittal reached a boiling point during the recent captaincy task.

In a recent challenge, contestants had to place their feet in large shoes and move to the puzzle zone to create a design. The competition quickly became tense as Malti made a striking comment about Tanya’s family that visibly shook her. During the task, Malti said to Tanya, “Tell me upfront that you won’t do anything.” Tanya responded nervously, “Oh no, I didn’t… I just got scared of you, just do it.” Malti pressed further, “What should I do now? You’ve been doing this since day one to scare me. Do you think I didn’t understand?”

Tanya tried to defend herself, but Malti’s next words hit a sensitive nerve: “You’ll realize once you’re outside how much you should have understood before. Your family will have to understand.” Malti’s comment about Tanya’s family referencing things said about her outside the house made Tanya emotional. Feeling overwhelmed, Tanya said, “Now solve the puzzle, you’ve won,” and walked away from the task, breaking down in tears.

Contestant Zeeshan Qadri comforted Tanya, who expressed her ongoing struggle to stay strong amid the pressures of the game. Zeeshan advised her, “Just remember one thing. Her words affect you, not mine. She’s playing the game well and even told me that you’re a very strong player.” Malti Chahar’s entry has undoubtedly intensified the competition in Bigg Boss 19. Her bold moves and psychological tactics have shaken up the contestants, especially Tanya Mittal. Fans are eagerly watching how this rivalry will unfold in the coming episodes, especially as Malti and Tanya prepare for further battles inside the house.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor starrer Jab We Met is one of the most iconic films of Hindi cinema. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the romantic-comedy film was a superhit at the box office. Shahid and Kareena had been dating in real life earlier, and their on-screen chemistry was well-received by the audience. However, did you know that Kareena initially refused to work with Imtiaz Ali because she hadn’t seen any of his films? Read on to know more.

Kareena Kapoor Was Not Sure Of Taking The Character Of Geet

According to Bollywood Shaadis, in an interview with Mid-Day India, Kareena Kapoor shared that she was unsure about taking on the character of Geet Kaur. She said, “I was actually without work. I hadn’t worked in a year and a half because I was saying no to big films. I was not getting the kind of film that I wanted. Films weren’t working, so I wanted to take a sabbatical for a year and a half. I think Imtiaz called up Shahid and narrated the film. We didn’t even know Imtiaz because he had just made Socha Na Tha. I hadn’t seen the film; Shahid, I think, had seen the film.”

Shahid Kapoor Convinced Kareena Kapoor For Jab We Met

“Imtiaz came out of the blue, and it happened. He approached Shahid, and Shahid told me, ‘Hey listen, you know, he’s going to approach you for this role, and it’s great.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll work. I’ll do this movie.’ I never knew that it would be this iconic movie. I think Imtiaz always looked at me for that, that you’re not understanding what this character is,” Kareena added.

Earlier, in an interview with Film Companion, Kareena Kapoor recalled shooting for Tashan and Jab We Met simultaneously, calling it a “karmic connection.” She shared, “I was shooting for Tashan, and I was giving Jab We Met the treatment like, ‘Listen I’m working with YRF, I’m playing the main role, I’ve become a size zero, and I’m going to kill it.’ That was my vibe on the sets of Jab We Met. In fact, it was Shahid who actually said that I should hear the script. He was like, ‘It’s amazing; the girl’s part is amazing, and you should try it. He kind of actually got this entire project together, and both of us ended up doing this film.”

Tashan Was Kareena Kapoor’s Passion Project

Kareena further shared that she was just shooting for Jab We Met because Tashan was her ‘passion project and would change her life.’ “Destiny had its own plans, and life took its course. And a lot had happened in the making of this film and Tashan. This (Jab We Met) changed my career, and that (Tashan) changed my life. I met the man of my dreams, and I did marry him. This took its own course where Shahid and I went our own ways, and this gem came out of it,” she concluded.

Akshay Kumar dismissed the money-minded tag put on him and said that money is an important factor in life and one needs to be practical.

Actor and producer Akshay Kumar is one of the highest-tax-paying celebrities in India. The actor, who has been busy promoting his latest film, Jolly LLB 3, recently appeared on Aap ki Adalat, where he commented on the accusation that he is money-minded.

Akshay Kumar talked about the importance of earning money.

What Akshay said

During the conversation, Akshay said, “Agar paisa kamaya hai toh loot ke nahi kanaya. Maine kaam karke kamaya hai. 8 saal se I have been the highest taxpayer (I have earned money but not by stealing from someone. For the last 8 years I have been the highest tax-payer) Toh, it cannot be that I am money-minded or anything. Money is an important aspect in life, you have be practical.”

‘Paisa kamata hu, tax deta hu’

He added, “Paisa kamata hu, tax deta hu, aur un paiso se kaafi seva karta hoo. Ye mera dharam he. Baki chahe kuch bhi kahe main kuch biswas nahi karta… agar ap ko pheete katne se paisa milta hai toh kya problem hain? Woh paisa dene ko taiyaar he? Jab tak aap kisi se chori nahi kar rahe, jab tak aap kisi ko loot nahi rahe ho, jab tak ap mehnat kar rahe hain tab tak koi problem nahi he (I earn money, I pay the tax, and I serve. That is my religion. Rest, many will say a lot of things I do not care. If someone wants to pay you for attending an event, then why not take it? What is the problem with that? Unless you are stealing from someone and earning it by sheer hard work it is completely okay). I don’t care if they have to say money-minded…”

Akshay also added that many years ago, he had to invest his own money to finish a film due to the producer’s financial issues.

Akshay’s Jolly LLB 3 released in theatres last Friday. The film also stars Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles. It has crossed ₹45 crore at the box office so far.
