Exclusive! Shaggy: The craziest driving I’ve seen in the world is in India

by jummy84 December 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Jamaican- American, raggae- dancehall star, Shaggy recently released his song Boom Body with Akon and Aidonia. Shaggy who began his career in the 90s, speaking about what connects him to the young audience says, “I keep my finger on the pulse of things. Music is my only job. I’m not interested in many other things. I may dabble into things here and there but I like what music represents to culture. Part of staying cool and fresh comes from the cultural shift that music crates.”

Shaggy/ Parsons, 9122 Records

Shaggy has been touring India since the 90s, “From the time Mumbai was Bombay,” he says. He adds, “The food is always a big part of my visits, I’ve had some of the best curries in the world. I’ve always had a great time in India. The big part has been going to Indian weddings, I’ve performed at quite a few. You guys have some of the most elaborate weddings I’ve seen but the crazy part is getting to the wedding. I’ve never seen traffic like that while going to weddings and I don’t know how there aren’t accidents. The craziest driving I’ve seen in the world is in India, no country in the world can top that.”

Shaggy recounts that his son Robb Banks was recently in India as part of the lineup at Rolling Loud that made its debut in Navi Mumbai’s Kharghar. He says, “He put on the long shirt that males wear (kurta). He wore it on stage and rocked it. He really indulged in the country’s culture and I love that about him. He’s always doing crazy stuff.”

Shaggy says being an independent artiste, he may not have massive budgets but it also has its own advantages. He says, “Being an independent artiste I can move at my own pace. Some artistes get caught in their own legacy, where they are scared to put out music based on what they have done before. Im the opposite. You look at any huge artiste and they have more flops than hits but noone is remembered for their flops. The minute you give a hit it erases every flop you’ve had.”

Though he has sucessfully stayed relevant over several decades, Shaggy adds that he has no illusions about creating a legacy. “My kids dont know who Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley is. They may know Bob Marley, being Jamaican that’s part of the culture but eventually everything fades.” He adds that rather than following trends he has always focused on creating songs that the local DJ can play and ensure people have a good time dancing.

Moving on to his next album Lottery, he says, “It comes out in March. Expect songs with Robin Thicke, Anthony Hamilton, Sting and many other artistes.” He adds that collaborations with artistes like Akon only takes them one listen to know which track will be a banger.

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, who recently tied the knot with Zaheer Iqbal, has finally opened up about the constant pregnancy rumors that have followed her since her wedding. The actress, known for her witty comebacks, spoke candidly about the topic on Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, sharing how a simple hospital visit turned into a full-blown media frenzy.

Sonakshi revealed that she has been pregnant for 16 months, joking about how the rumors just don’t seem to stop. She explained, “The day after my wedding, my dad went to the hospital for a checkup. She tried everything from cardio and weight training to yoga and Pilates and has maintained a disciplined lifestyle ever since. However, she admitted that maintaining weight is even harder, especially when you love food. “Maintenance is the most difficult part, especially when you love food so much. Dyan Cannon opens up about finding peace through faith in God: ‘I’ve come to understand there’s just one…’

by jummy84 November 2, 2025

Dyan Cannon, the Oscar-nominated actress, now 88, told Fox News Digital that she tried “drugs, men and pills” before finding the one thing that finally gave her peace, her faith in God. Cannon, who co-hosts a new podcast called God’s Table Hollywood, said her lifelong search for meaning was filled with detours. “My main seeking has been to understand why I’m here, to understand who I really am,” she said.

“Not to fit in necessarily, and not to stand out necessarily. But to understand. And in understanding, there’s been freedom for me,” she added.

She laughed softly when she admitted how long it took. “I’ve tried everything,” she said. “But they were like a Band-Aid that didn’t stick when I started to sweat.”

Faith, she explained, gave her footing. “Faith has helped me with my emotional life. I used to expect a man to make me happy. Can you believe that? I used to think that was his job, to make me happy. That’s… impossible,” she explained.

Cannon’s on being married to Cary Grant and ‘God girl’

Cannon’s love life was once the talk of Hollywood. She married Cary Grant in 1965 when he was 62 and she was 28. They welcomed daughter Jennifer Grant a year later, his only child, but the marriage unraveled in 1968. She later wed producer Stanley Fimberg in 1985 before divorcing six years later.

Her time with Grant was intense. As Fox News Digital noted, she once said Grant introduced her to LSD, convinced it could “help him find peace.” She said,“He thought it was a gateway to God. I knew I shouldn’t do it, but I did it to please him and to save our marriage.”

After the divorce, Cannon turned to pills and marijuana to cope and eventually suffered what she called a “breakdown.” “I was locked up,” she told the outlet.

She shared that her faith grew stronger after that. “When I say I’m a ‘God girl,’ it means that through all the years of seeking and trying, I’ve come to understand there’s just one God who loves everybody the same,” she added.

Cannon talks of learning peace, not perfection

Cannon admitted her openness about faith cost her friendships and some work over the years. “In the past, I lost friends because of it. So-called friends. But I think the city of angels – Los Angeles – better decide whose angels they are,” she said.

These days, she is at peace being single. She still believes in love but is not eager to marry again. “I was forced to give up my career for marriage. I don’t think I’d do that again,” she said.

Cannon smiled when asked what she would tell her younger self—the woman who once saw Grant as “God.” “Snap out of it,” she replied with a laugh, as per Fox News.

I’ve Worn a Center Part All My Life—but a Side Part Is the Move This Fall

by jummy84 October 26, 2025
written by jummy84

I’ve worn a middle parting since I was a teenager. Never a side part. On very rare occasions, I’ve ever-so-slightly tilted it to one side, as a tentative way of switching it up. Legendary French hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai once told me that “changing the direction of the parting can completely transform a woman’s look,” and I kept that in the back of my mind—not that I was ready for it, yet. Any experiments I had with my parting over the years were short-lived. Very short-lived. I’ve always been a stickler for my own beauty and glam routine—from skincare to bodycare—so moving the parting a few centimeters was as far as I’d go.

In the last few weeks, Scarlett Johansson and Hunter Schafer have brought back the ’90s bombshell hair: a sharp side parting that, when you move, flows dramatically. The dimension and body is brilliant. Somehow, it makes your hair look even more glossy and shimmering, with a simple flick. Then came the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and the supermodel side part was enjoyed by Adriana Lima, Bella Hadid, and Gigi Hadid.

It’s also been enjoying more time on the runways, from Chanel’s deep and gritty side parts that hit at the browbone, to Dior’s romantic, side-swept bobs. Now we’re officially in fall and heading to winter, the side part feels like a glamorous, festive new setting.

So, I thought, maybe now I could allow myself to play with my hair. Experiment. Take a risk, even. It sounds hyperbolic, but I’m also someone who has worn black for years and rarely deviate from my yogurt and granola breakfast. Sweeping my hair to the side feels major. This was to be a big step out of my beauty comfort zone .

This decision came even though beauty theory says the opposite. Let me explain: hairstylist Maria Baras told me that this type of hairstyle especially favors rounded faces, because they provide some necessary volume at the top. In a display of beauty bravery, I decided, still, to give it a try. But when I let Baras know, she actually encouraged me: “When you wear your hair in a center part, you’ll be used to that flatter, sleeker, more polished look. A side part will feel strange at first, btu I advise that you give it some time to live with.”

I chose to do it on a Sunday, when I have the least social contact outside of my family. If it looked terrible, I was in my safe zone: my own bathroom, with my own brushes, my trusty Dyson Airwrap, and dry shampoo. If my boyfriend did a double take, I could do a 180—or a 90.

Tom Holland Says ‘The Odyssey’ Is the ‘Best Script I’ve Ever Read’

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Tom Holland continues to heap praise upon Christopher Nolan‘s “The Odyssey,” which he wrapped production on earlier this year before kicking off filming on “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” Holland is playing Telemachus, Odysseus’ son, in the movie. The actor recently told Agence France-Presse that Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic is “the best script I’ve ever read.” No offense, Spider-Man.

“Chris [Nolan] is a real collaborator,” Holland added. “He knows what he wants… but it is not an environment where you can’t pitch ideas or build characters in certain ways.”

“The Odyssey” marks Nolan’s highly-anticipated follow-up to his Oscar winner “Oppenheimer.” Matt Damon leads the movie as Odysseus opposite a sprawling ensemble cast that includes Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and Jon Bernthal. Holland told GQ Sports in July that filming The Odyssey” was “the job of a lifetime, without a doubt” and “the best experience I’ve had on a film set.”

“It was exciting. It was different. And I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen,” Holland added at the time. “Working with Chris, getting to know him and Emma [Thomas] was absolutely fantastic. I’ve never seen someone that can work the way that they do, and there is a reason why they’re the best in the business for sure. To get a front row seat to that and to be a part of the process and to collaborate with a true master of his craft and learn from him was the best experience I’ve ever had.”

Holland previously told “Good Morning America” that getting the offer from Nolan to star in “The Odyssey” was “the phone call of a lifetime” and “reminiscent of getting the call about ‘Spider-Man’ 10 years ago. It’s an amazing thing for me. I’m super proud and I’m really, really excited.”

As for “Spider-Man,” Holland is currently in production on his fourth standalone Marvel movie as the iconic web-slinger. Overall, the movie will mark his seventh appearance in the MCU. He told AFP that it “still feels like the first time.”

“Yesterday, I was on top of a tank driving down the high street in Glasgow, in front of thousands of fans, and it was awesome,” Holland said. “It was so incredible, it was exciting, and exhilarating, and it felt fresh.”

“The Odyssey” is set for release on July 17 from Universal Pictures. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” follows on July 31 from Sony.

"I’ve got 12 songs and they’re all bangers"

I’ve got 12 songs and they’re all bangers

by jummy84 September 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Oli Sykes has spoken about emptying the “archives” for a ‘Director’s Cut’ of Bring Me The Horizon’s ‘Next Gen’ album – sharing that there are 12 songs that could be arriving soon.

Hope for more music from the Sheffield metal icons arose last year, when the frontman said that he had some unreleased material from the writing sessions for their 2024 album ‘Post Human: Nex Gen’ waiting to be shared – hoping to release a “‘director’s cut’ version of the record”.

Now, Sykes has shared another update, catching up with NME backstage at Reading & Leeds last week and revealing that there could be as many as 12 songs on the way from the ‘Next Gen’ writing sessions.

When asked if becoming a father had impacted his approach to making music, Sykes said that while it was “a little too early to tell”, he has felt “a renewed sense of the pressure being off”.

“I had to have that as we were leading up to the birth, because I wanted new music out this year,” he added. “I’ve got so much from the ‘Nex Gen’ archive that I want the world to hear. I literally phoned my label and management and said, ‘It’s nearly here, I’ve got 12 songs and they’re all bangers. They’re so close, we’re going to get the first single out before Rock Am Ring and the second before Reading & Leeds.’”

He added that his focus shifted towards being there for his wife, Alissic – who gave birth to twins in July – and that the songs might take a little longer than expected.

“The music will come, but it’s just not the be-all and end-all,” he said. “We’re realising that we don’t have to put another record out; we just put one out. Most bands would go away for two years, have an actual break,” he shared. “You don’t have to do this, but I want to and I enjoy it. If it doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen.”

He then said that while he feels like he owes it to the fans to share new music, he has started to realise that “there are other things that are important in my life now and I’ve got to make sure that they come first”.

“Ultimately, that’s going to help the process and help us make some really good music,” he affirmed. “I can already feel that. I feel comfortable that the band is fine and we’re doing alright. We don’t need to do better. That will help with the output.”

When asked if the new material would be the ‘Director’s Cut’ he hinted towards in December, Sykes said: “Yes. I’m already craving a fresh sound and making stuff like, ‘Oh, that’s sick but not now – that needs to be honed and crafted’. There are songs I’m sitting on that are so sick, but it’s not ‘Nex Gen’, it’s something else. I still don’t know what that’s going to be.”

“I know for a fact that I can’t write that now,” he continued. “I have to write that in a year when I’ve been away, and let my mind decompress and go, ‘What is the theme? What is the world? What is the sound?’ We need that, definitely, but in terms of a strategic play, I just can’t see it happening because I just love it too much. Just accepting that it is what it is feels really good.”

‘Nex Gen’ was the second in the ‘Post Human’ series, following from ‘Survival Horror‘ as the first in a string of records launched in 2020, originally intended to be released in quick succession but now with the narrative arc to follow on future albums in years to come.

Check out the full interview with Sykes here, where he also spoke about the chances of Bring Me The Horizon playing at Glastonbury, what’s next in the ‘Post Human’ series, how fatherhood has shaped his approach to playing live, and if he can imagine the band following in The Rolling Stones’ footsteps and touring into their 80s. You can also watch the interview in full in the video above.

While at Reading & Leeds, Bring Me The Horizon brought their immersive set to the main stages at Little John’s Farm and Bramham Park. It marked the second time that the band have headlined the dual festival, following on from a co-headline slot with fellow Sheffield rock giants Arctic Monkeys back in 2022.

Their set at Reading 2025 was given a five-star review by NME, which read: “The sci-fi blockbuster cinematography and immersive graphics of the show (peaking with Sykes turning into a demon in real-time) are overwhelming enough, not to mention that each song is delivered with enough pyro and energy that they all feel like a finale most other bands would kill for.

“Those scrappy skinny-jeaned metalcore brats from way back then are unrecognisable from this tour-de-force before us tonight. In terms of spectacle, they out-pomp Muse. For performance, they couldn’t give more. A hiatus and long wait to the follow-up to ‘Post Human: Nex Gen’ awaits, but what a parting gift that was.”

I’ve Found the Shoe Colour That Looks Best with Yellow Dresses

by jummy84 August 23, 2025
written by jummy84

The butter yellow colour trend has been something of a whirlwind this season, sweeping through fashion crowds and adhering to every silhouette imaginable. Casting us all in a soft pastel glow, the saccharine shade has taken off in a way few colours manage to do. That being said, while it might be everywhere right now, I’ve never found it the easiest shade to style, and apparently my friends don’t either, as they keep asking me what to wear with their new yellow purchases.

For me, the shade sits most comfortably alongside deep browns or soft khakis. Black, my personal fail-safe, always felt a little too harsh against yellow’s creamy sweetness. That was until Zoë Kravitz made me reconsider my stance.

Stepping out in London for a run of press appearances, Kravitz emerged in a butter-yellow Saint Laurent dress paired with glossy black leather ballet flats. Weaving visual contrast into her ensemble, Karvitz doubled down on the unexpected pairing, styling Saint Laurent’s Mini Le 5 à 7 Bag (£1350) and the brand’s SL 567 Sunglasses (£340), both in the same moody shade of black with her creamy yellow dress.

Her inky shoes anchored the playful dress, adding depth and dimension that felt perfectly in step with her pared-back, slightly grungy aesthetic.

Proof that black shoes remain as chameleonic as ever, even when paired with the softest, sweetest shades in your wardrobe. Below, discover the butter-yellow dresses and black ballet flats that will have you trying the look for yourself.
