My Bloody Valentine announce support acts for 2025 UK and Ireland tour

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

My Bloody Valentine have announced the support acts for their upcoming dates in the UK and Ireland.

In March, the band confirmed that they would be playing their first UK headline tour in over 10 years, with huge dates at Dublin’s 3Arena (their first non-festival show in their home country since 1992), Manchester’s Aviva Studios, London’s Wembley Arena and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro in November.

Now, they have revealed that they will be joined by J Mascis for the London and Glasgow shows on November 25 and 27 respectively, while Maria Somerville will open for them in Dublin and Manchester on November 22 and 24.

Tickets have been on sale since the shows were announced in March and you can find any remaining tickets here.

Mascis is the singer and guitarist with Dinosaur Jr. and has been an acquaintance of My Bloody Valentine for a long time. The two bands played together on the 1992 Rollercoaster Tour, an offshoot of the Lollapalooza Festival.

In 2023, MBV’s Kevin Shields joined Dinosaur Jr. on stage in London’s The Garage, playing songs from each other’s back catalogues, as well as The Cure’s ‘Just Like Heaven’.

Somerville, meanwhile, is an Irish shoegaze and folk artist that released her second album ‘Luster’ in April this year via 4AD.

These shows will be My Bloody Valentine’s first live performances in nearly seven years, since they toured North America in 2018. They will also be playing at Primavera Sound in June next year, alongside headliners The Cure, Gorillaz, The xx, Doja Cat and Massive Attack.

Their latest album was the 2013 comeback record ‘mbv’. In the time since, the members revealed in 2021 that they were working on two new albums for Domino, and Shields said that the first would contain “warm and melodic” material while the second would be more experimental.

Outside of the band, Shields has also gone on to share solo material, dropping it in a subtle way by concealing it within his range of custom guitar pedals.

bitchy | Prince William swatted Kate away when she tried to grab him in Northern Ireland

by jummy84 October 17, 2025

On Tuesday, the Prince and Princess of Wales made a “surprise” trip to Northern Ireland. They played with firefighters and visited an apple orchard. Kate played with hay and she and William tried their hand at baking something in a kitchen. They’ve definitely been organizing more food/beverage/kitchen activities since With Love, Meghan debuted, that’s all I’ll say. Kate also did that thing she always does, which is bring up her kids in context of whatever random thing she sees. She saw an apple pressing machine and she claimed that she and her kids tried to hand-press apples at home, and “It was quite good fun with the children. It was very messy.” Something else happened in Northern Ireland as well – Kate tried to grab William from behind and he awkwardly swatted her away:

They call it a happy marriage – but William’s body language says “get this woman away from me” 💀😱 pic.twitter.com/ppml7Gmr4L

— 👑 Tea and Taboo (@MeghansDevotee) October 15, 2025

In all of William and Kate’s copykeening, it’s so funny that they can never manage to copy the Sussexes’ natural warmth and affection for one another. Harry is literally emotional-support-groping his wife in public, and whenever Kate tries to touch her husband, he winces and swats her away. Something else W&K could learn from Meghan and Harry is how to approach people as a couple on a physical level. Harry often walks ahead of Meghan but he waits that split-second until she’s by his side and then he greets people or shakes hands. William didn’t wait for Kate, that’s why she was grabbing at him – he didn’t make room for her.

Meanwhile, there’s more talk about Forest Lodge, William and Kate’s fifth forever home. Sarah Vine wrote this week: “I can’t say for certain, of course, but I don’t imagine Prince William – or for that matter, the Princess of Wales – has much time for friends and associates of known sex traffickers. And given that they have decided to make Windsor their ‘forever home’, are they really going to tolerate Bad Uncle Andrew living it up next door? They will want to put some serious distance between themselves and this whole stink, and that might not bode well for the Duke, especially if his brother is no longer around to shield him. Who knows what Prince William will do.” My theory is that Charles is not evicting Andrew from Royal Lodge on purpose, because Charles wants William to take that hit when the time comes.

bitchy | Princess Kate wore Barbour, Ralph Lauren & WNU in Northern Ireland

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Yesterday, the Prince and Princess of Wales stepped out for a “surprise” trip to Northern Ireland. There was some debate about when this visit was scheduled, and whether it came together last-minute because the Duchess of Sussex was scheduled to speak at Fortune’s summit in DC. While I think there are arguments to be made about this visit likely being on the books for weeks, let me also say that I don’t believe William and Kate have earned the benefit of the doubt. Not with how they’ve behaved in the past two months, and not after they’ve made a point of rushing around, trying to look busy whenever the Sussexes are doing anything.

Some fashion notes – for the first part of the Northern Ireland activities, Kate wore a years-old bespoke McQueen coat, one which we’ve seen her in many times. Later in the day, she removed the McQueen coat and donned her favorite Barbour jacket, which she’s also worn many times. She also wore a WNU wool cardigan which is (imo) very ugly. If the skirt looks familiar, it’s because we first saw it one month ago. It’s Ralph Lauren, and she wore it for her Scouts event with Melania Trump. It looked awful on her then and now. I think she’s trying to evoke some 1970s New England WAG vibe but it’s not working.

The Daily Mail and Mail Plus have been churning through so many “remember when” pieces in recent days, for no reason at all – there’s actual new photos and stories about the Waleses and the Sussexes, I have no idea why they’re like “hey, remember when William and Kate were thrilled when Harry and Meghan left the UK?” But that’s an actual top story in the Mail’s royals section. They also did an extremely obvious piece about how KATE is the “magical Disney princess.” Right after the British press had a meltdown over the Sussexes’ visit to Disneyland and their appearance in a pro-Disneyland program on ABC.

Here’s a video (it’s a compilation of videos) from the Waleses’ trip to Northern Ireland. In motion, you can really see that the palace gopher slapped that hairpiece onto the back of Kate’s head. It’s not blended whatsoever.

The Cure to Perform Huge 2026 U.K. and Ireland Outdoor Shows

by jummy84 October 1, 2025
written by jummy84

The Cure will headline a series of massive outdoor shows in the U.K. and Ireland next summer.

The run of dates is scheduled to kick off in Dublin’s Marlay Park on June 26, before continuing on to Belfast’s Belsonic at Ormeau Park (June 28), Wythenshawe Park in Manchester (Aug. 21) and a night at the Royal Highland Showgrounds (Aug. 23) as part of the Edinburgh Summer Sessions. See the full trek below.

Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday (Oct. 3) at 9 a.m. (BST) via The Cure’s official website, while fans who have previously signed up to the band’s mailing list will be given access to the pre-sale information.

Support for each of the shows will alternate between Mogwai, The Twilight Sad, Slowdive, Just Mustard, Stella and the Dreaming, and The Slow Readers Club.

In addition to the newly-announced gigs, The Cure are set to headline the Isle of Wight Festival next summer, as well as European festivals including Primavera Sound, Nova Rock, and Rock en Seine.

Last fall, The Cure released fourteenth studio album Songs of a Lost World, which topped the Official U.K. Albums Chart and landed at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 – their highest-charting effort in the US since 1992’s Wish. The record reached the summit on five alternate Billboard charts: Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums, Vinyl Albums and Indie Store Album Sales.

Frontman Robert Smith told the Official Charts Company at the time: “It is enormously uplifting, genuinely heartwarming to experience such a wonderful reaction to the release of the new Cure album. To everyone who has bought it, listened to it, loved it, believed in us over the years – thank you!”

Songs of a Lost World marked the legendary act’s first full-length record in 16 years. They performed it in full at Troxy in east London on release day, as well as two shows at the BBC Radio Theatre.

In June, meanwhile, Smith joined Olivia Rodrigo on stage during her Glastonbury Festival headline slot. Rodrigo introduced him as “a personal hero” and “perhaps the best songwriter to come out of England” before the pair duetted on two anthems by The Cure: “Friday I’m In Love” and “Just Like Heaven.”

The Cure U.K. and Ireland 2026 tour dates:

  • June 26: Dublin, Ireland @ Marlay Park
  • June 28: Belfast, Northern Ireland @ Belsonic, Ormeau Park
  • August 21: Manchester, England @ Wythenshawe Park
  • August 23: Edinburgh, Scotland @ Summer Sessions, the Royal Highland Showgrounds

It comes after the Damon Albarn-led animated band debuted their upcoming ninth LP during the final of four gigs at London’s Copper Box Arena earlier this month. A leaked image from the show also sees artwork of fictional character Murdoc now in the form of a Hindu deity with blue skin, a long beard and prayer beads hanging from his neck. See more reactions below.

Per a press release, ‘The Mountain’ finds fictional band members Murdoc Niccals, Russel Hobbs, 2D and Noodle – created by Jamie Hewlett – in India, having turned their backs on international pop stardom, and now focused on “mystical music-making”.

The four limited-capacity live shows at the Copper Box Arena in London marked Gorillaz’ 25th anniversary. The first show saw them perform their self-titled debut in full, playing ‘Double Bass’ and ‘Ghost Train’ live for the first time ever. Last week, they shared an official video of the full gig.

The third show – where they played ‘Plastic Beach’ in its entirety – also saw Gorillaz surprise audiences with ‘The Fall’ tracks ‘Phoner To Arizona’ and ‘California And The Slipping Of The Sun’ live for the first time ever during the encore.

The mini residency came as part of the band’s ‘House Of Kong’ exhibition at the Copper Box. It ran from August 8 until September 3, and offered fans a look behind the curtain of the virtual band’s headquarters, and provided insights into the journey they have had since sharing their 2000 debut single ‘Tomorrow Comes Today’, up until the present day.

The band are now set to relaunch Kong Studios as an online video game.

Ireland Baldwin Supports Stepmom Hilaria Baldwin Joining ‘DWTS’ Season 34

One person who will be cheering on Hilaria Baldwin as she competes on Dancing With the Stars is her stepdaughter, Ireland Baldwin.

“I wanted to take a second to talk about my step mom @hilariabaldwin,” Ireland began a lengthy Instagram post shared on Thursday, September 4. “I think if people actually knew her the way I do, they would be quite surprised. This post may come out of left field since I don’t post about her or any family members much. I expect misinformed comments and plenty of comments about me only playing nice so I can secure my inheritance. C’mon, people. I see the comments. I’m not getting an inheritance. I have 7 siblings 😂.”

Ireland went on to share that she and Hilaria have bonded over their shared “complex and chaotic” upbringings, adding, “She didn’t always feel safe and seen. Sometimes, she is too loyal to a fault. She is eccentric and totally bat s*** crazy (in a fun way) but she saved my dad’s life. She turned his health around and has shown him the forgiveness and kindness that he needed.”

Ireland continued, “She also recognizes and nourishes the parts of my father [Alec Baldwin] that are the most compassionate and wonderful. She’s taught him that he doesn’t need to suffer inside of his own head and stay stuck in his own past. That it’s never too late to admit you need help and it’s never too late to learn to be kind to yourself.”

Ireland credited Hilaria as the reason she and Alec have the “close relationship” they currently do. “She is the reason I get to have siblings/a big family that I’ve always wanted. She has always respected me, accepted my flaws, embraced me, and has always shown me kindness,” the actress and model gushed. “I met her as a teenager and I needed her as an example. I still very much look up to her now.”

Ireland concluded her message of support by writing that she’s “so proud” of Hilaria for joining DWTS Season 34. “I CANNOT wait to cheer her a** on. She deserves this!” she stated. “And it’s not my place to share the ins and outs, but this woman is a gem and deserves all the love.”

Ireland is the only child Alec shares with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, to whom he was married from 1993 to 2002. He went to wed Hilaria in 2012, and the couple have since welcomed seven children together.

Ireland shared her message alongside a photo of herself and Hilaria holding a dog and one of her siblings, respectively. Hilaria thanked her stepdaughter for the kind words in the post’s comments, writing, “I’m crying. I love you with all my heart, @irelandirelandireland ❤️. These words mean so much. You mean so much to me 💙.”

Hilaria will compete alongside partner Gleb Savchenko on DWTS Season 34, which premieres this month. Her casting has been met with mixed reactions from fans, with one fan commenting underneath one of Hilaria’s recent TikTok posts, “How is she a star? I have never heard of her. Singer, actress, athlete?” Another user alleged, “Alec had to make a phone call to make this happen.”

Others shared their excitement to see Hilaria on the show. “Fabulous!!!! We’ll be watching and cheering for you!👏👏👏✨✨✨,” one TikTok user commented, while another added, “Rooting for you, Hilaria! You deserve to take this year’s trophy home!!”
