bitchy | Royal insider: The Sussexes’ attendance at Kris Jenner’s party was ‘unconscionable’

The “Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian deleted their photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex” story has now consumed the British and American gossip media for almost the entire week. Personally, I think the Sussexes’ attendance at the party was always going to be one of the major gossip stories of the week, but the posted-then-deleted party pics took the story to the next-level as everyone tried to figure out what happened behind the scenes. It’s become a complete gossip sh-tstorm because it’s not just “sources close to” the Sussexes and the Kardashian-Jenners talking to the media, there are also PALACE sources trying to add commentary. We saw that earlier this week, where Prince William’s office clearly threw a tantrum to Page Six about how Harry and Meghan are “so tacky” for attending an A-list Hollywood party. Well, it looks like royal sources also cried to NewsNation. Apparently, Harry & Meghan’s party attendance is “unconscionable.”

Royal insiders in England are aghast at Prince Harry and Meghan attending Kris Kardashian’s 70th birthday party last weekend at the home of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.

“It’s unconscionable,” one insider gasped. “The day we remember our war heroes, our veterans — of which Harry is one! — and he goes off to a ball!”

While Harry did wear a poppy flower pin to signify the day, his wife did not.

“It’s galling — they should never come back to England,” the insider added. The couple’s glamorous night out came on the eve of Remembrance Sunday — the most solemn occasion on the royal family’s calendar.

To make matters worse, in years past, Harry had made sure to spend Remembrance Day weekend honoring fallen soldiers. In 2023, Harry and Meghan visited Camp Pendleton in San Diego to meet with U.S. servicemembers, veterans and Gold Star Families ahead of Remembrance Day — and a year later, also gave tribute to fallen soldiers. This year, however, was different.

The couple chose to party with Adele, Mariah Carey, Bill Gates, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey and Stevie Wonder instead.

“Why didn’t they just come in the side door like Beyoncé and Jay-Z?” One Hollywood type wondered. “There are absolutely zero pictures of them arriving and perhaps one of Beyoncé inside — but none of Jay-Z. If Harry and Meghan didn’t want attention, they should have just asked for the side door. But then again — Meghan loves the cameras.”

It was not only bad optics, but bad for the Sussexes’ business. While they did hobnob with Hollywood elite and execs — in hopes of gaining more business — the couple were again slammed when they forced Kris Kardashian and Kim Kardashian to take down several pictures of them on the Kardashian Instagram. According to People: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t agree to have photos of them taken inside the party shared, and checked ‘no’ on a photo consent form, leading to the images posted on Instagram to be removed.”

But as someone who knows the Kardashians scoffed, “That is ridiculous. Everything the Kardashians do is for public consumption, which leads to business. Harry and Meghan know that. They can’t have their cake and eat it too. They messed up big time by going to that party. They should have either stayed home or gone in through the side door. It gives (Prince) William more ammunition to dispose of them once he becomes king.”

[From NewNation]

The sourcing is absolutely bizarre. “Someone who knows the Kardashians” said “It gives (Prince) William more ammunition to dispose of them once he becomes king”??? And a royal insider describing party-attendance as “unconscionable,” a word no royal insider has ever used in connection to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s unconscionable activities with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Is this just Prince William and his office continuing to throw a sh-t fit? Are Kensington Palace insiders posing as “someone who knows the Kardashians?”

Incidentally, Harry asked to have his wreath laid at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday in 2020 and the palace refused and openly berated him for asking. Just as the Windsors refused to recognize his service on every Remembrance Day since 2020. Just as the Windsors have refused to acknowledge, celebrate or congratulate British Invictus competitors. Just as the Windsors refused to attend the Invictus service marking the tenth anniversary of the founding of the games last year. There’s a word for that… it’s on the tip of my tongue… maybe “unconscionable”?

Hema Malini Called Shah Rukh Khan ‘Very Ugly’ Before Casting Him As Aamir, Salman Declined, Reveals Insider

by jummy84 November 1, 2025

In a striking revelation from Bollywood’s early 1990s days, producer and friend Viveck Vaswani recalled an unexpected moment in the career launch of Shah Rukh Khan—one that highlights both the unpredictable nature of show-business and the complex dynamics of fame.

Vaswani shared that it was actor-turned-director and star Hema Malini who offered Shah Rukh his first major film role in her directorial venture Dil Aashna Hai (1992). The story goes that Malini called Vaswani one evening and asked: “Is Shah Rukh Khan still sleeping at your place?” When he confirmed, she instructed Vaswani to bring Shah Rukh to her home at 5 pm for a meeting. Accompanied by Vaswani, an anxious Shah Rukh arrived at her residence—only to be greeted by Malini’s candid assessment of his looks: “But you’re very ugly.” The blunt remark hung in the air, yet Malini pressed on. “Why do you want him?” Vaswani asked, to which she responded simply: “Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have said no.”

Hema Malini, Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan

What followed is the kind of decision-making that characterises the film industry: Malini signed Shah Rukh for a fee of Rs 50,000, telling Vaswani, “I am Hema Malini, so there are no questions.” The film would go on to feature veteran stars such as Jeetendra, Mithun Chakraborty, Dimple Kapadia and Divya Bharti—yet, despite the delay in release, it marked a significant stepping-stone for Shah Rukh.

Vaswani painted the scene: Upon their arrival in Malini’s living-room, the duo didn’t recognise the person reading a newspaper. Only when the figure looked up did they realise it was veteran actor Dharmendra, casually dressed and seated in a lungi. The image sits in bright contrast to the glitzy aura of Bollywood—reminding us that even legends inhabit informal frames when not on screen.

What makes this anecdote resonate isn’t just the bluntness—Malini’s “you’re very ugly” comment—but the layers of ambition, choice and timing it reveals. At that point, Shah Rukh was still grinding, sleeping at Vaswani’s place, auditioning and hoping for the break that would make him something more than a supporting actor. Malini’s choice to sign him—despite the dismissed sighs of others—speaks to her eye for potential, not just aesthetics.

In the broader narrative of Shah Rukh’s rise, the moment holds symbolic value. He went on from that conversation to become one of Bollywood’s most influential stars. The film may not have launched him as blockbuster hero overnight—but it opened doors. When faced with a blunt judgement about his looks, Shah Rukh later turned it into a brand: the under-dog turned king, the “ugly” boy who captured hearts worldwide. He even admitted in an earlier interview that if people called him ugly, he would lean into it and opt for roles as the villain.

Shah Rukh Khan

The episode also gives insight into how Bollywood views image, talent and risk. Aamir Khan and Salman Khan reportedly declined the role Malini offered, giving Shah Rukh the chance—akin to how timing and opportunity shift destinies. Malini’s choice reflected a readiness to invest in someone overlooked by peers. It underscores how industry gatekeepers, backed by intuition and conviction, shape stories beyond scripts.

Dharmendra’s presence in that living-room—sitting quietly, lungi and all—adds texture to the story. It suggests that even towering stars exist in understated moments when the camera isn’t rolling. Perhaps he observed the scene quietly, aware of how fortunes change in the industry’s undercurrents.

As the anecdote circulates, it invites reflection: Is “ugly” really a definitive barrier in show-business? Shah Rukh’s journey argues otherwise. It also raises questions about commentary on appearance—and how a blunt statement by a star like Hema Malini served as a catalyst rather than a barrier. The story captures the unpredictability of casting, the ruthlessness of ambition, and the willingness of certain individuals to see beyond first impressions.

Today, films, battles and marketability dominate star-making. But in 1991-92, a nude call sheet, a crude comment, and a half-hearted yes proved enough to start a phenomenon. The choice Malini made—and the response Shah Rukh delivered—shaped an era.

Their story is more than Hollywood-style origin myth; it reflects Bollywood’s messy alchemy of looks, talent, opportunity and narrative. And in that living-room moment, with “ugly” called out and destiny nonetheless invited in, you glimpse the quiet dramatic surge behind cinematic success.

bitchy | Prince Harry claps back on the Sun’s curious insider story of his Clarence House visit

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

On September 10, Prince Harry traveled from his event at Imperial College London’s Centre for Blast Injury Studies to Clarence House. King Charles’s courtiers tipped off the press, and dozens of photographers and royal rota were waiting outside of Clarence House to catch a glimpse of Harry’s SUV being waved in. Harry met with his father for less than an hour. It was the first time Charles and Harry had been in the same room since February 2024. Harry has said very little about the meeting, and when he spoke to the Guardian in Ukraine, he spoke in generalities about wanting to visit the UK more often, especially over the next year.

Harry has kept up his end of the deal struck with Charles, the deal being “Harry can’t talk about Charles or the meeting, but Charles and his rancid courtiers can freely brief about it.” Add to all of this, Prince William has been having a nervous breakdown over Harry’s UK visit and Clarence House meeting ever since, and William and his courtiers can’t shut about it. There are at least two royal courts (Charles and William) doing the most to impose their narratives about Harry, his UK trip, the meeting and what it all means. Don’t forget about Camilla, spreading her rottweiler narratives as well. On Friday, the Sun dropped their big exclusive about “what happened at the meeting,” with sources claiming to have insider information from Harry’s side. Harry’s spokesperson furiously issued a statement within hours of the Sun’s publication, so the Sun basically had to rewrite their piece to include Harry’s denials. Some highlights:

Harry the official visitor: The reunion of Prince Harry and King Charles saw them swap presents and kisses on the cheek — but there were no plans made for the future, The Sun can reveal. After the 53-minute summit at Clarence House, wild rumours circulated that the pair had discussed Harry resuming some royal duties on a “half-in, half-out” basis. However, we can now reveal, the pair’s sit down earlier this month was “distinctly formal” and there is still no prospect of Harry returning to the family fold. Harry was surprised by the formalities of his recent reunion with the King — and even joked he felt more like an “official visitor” than a family member, we can reveal. He handed his father a framed photograph of their children Archie and Lilibet to mark their reunion – but Harry and Meghan were not in the family photo.

Harry’s spokesperson: “Recent reporting of the Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false. The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son. Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged. While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess.”

Charles gave Harry a birthday gift: In a touching return gesture the King, 76, gave his youngest son a birthday present, as he was to turn 41 just six days later. But the duke was understood to have described the meeting with his father as “very official, like an official visit”. Insiders said the awkward exchange was carried out in similar style to that of dignitaries and visitors at royal residences.

Charles wants to have tea with Harry again: The King’s door remains open for another private cup of tea next time Harry is back in London. Harry was whisked into Clarence House in the back of a Land Rover to see his father while on an “faux royal” tour earlier this month. The Sun can reveal they greeted each other warmly with kisses on the cheek, before swapping gifts and having tea privately. Harry’s visit was sandwiched between two other audiences for the King. He arrived at 5.21pm and left at 6.14pm for an Invictus Games reception. Charles’s face-to-face with Harry was the King’s shortest audience of the day, after flying down earlier from Balmoral for engagements.

But what about PEG?!!? Claims the meeting was part of concerted efforts to undermine Prince William’s relationship with his father have also been denied. Harry’s spokesman said: “Categorically not. Harry is not trying to drive a wedge between the Prince of Wales and the King.” A source close to William has branded reports that he and the King are at odds as “rubbish”.

[From The Sun & The Royalist]

This is why I’ve always believed it’s stupid for Harry to even try to adhere to Charles’s dumb “rules.” The rules being “Harry can’t say anything about Charles” and “Harry has to coordinate schedules so that he doesn’t overshadow Charles’s big events.” Harry is giving away his two biggest advantages – his ability to correct the record, and the ability to get attention no matter what, especially at the expense of the left-behinds. Clearly, Harry has no problem correcting the record and I appreciate how responsive Team Sussex was on this story. As Tom Sykes noted in his coverage, “By suggesting that the same individual who leaked the gift also spun a line about a stiff, diplomatic tone to the meeting, Harry draws a line straight back to the top tier of his father’s household..” Exactly. As much as we’ve correctly assumed that Prince William and his courtiers are largely responsible for the panicked, paranoid and enraged briefings in recent weeks, the truth is that Charles and his people have been behind several of these stories. Including this one.
