Neighbours icon will be missing from final ever episodes, boss confirms

by jummy84 November 30, 2025
written by jummy84

For the second time in just a few years, Neighbours is preparing for what looks set to be the beloved Australian soap’s final ever episode – but one of the show’s most iconic characters sadly won’t be involved.

According to boss Jason Herbison, Toadie Rebecchi star Ryan Moloney – who departed the soap after 30 years earlier this year – was unavailable to reprise his role in the finale, which was filmed back in July.

“We asked Ryan [Moloney] to return as Toadie,” he explained in an interview with TV Week. “He was unavailable sadly, but he does of course get a mention.”

Although Toadie will be absent, a number of familiar faces from the show’s past are expected to appear as soap draws to a close.

Some of the characters confirmed to return to Ramsay Street for one last hurrah include Shane Ramsay (Peter O’Brien), Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden), Jimmy Williams (Darcy Tadich), Ned Willis (Ben Hall) and Roxy Canning (Zima Anderson) – and there could be an extra surprise or two in store, too.

Herbison also teased that the episode will include “a few Easter eggs for the fans” and explained why he felt the need to end the show in a very different way from the previous finale in 2022, before the show had been rescued by Amazon.

“I couldn’t end it the same way as I did last time,” he said. “I knew we were losing the Nunawading Studios and backlot imminently, which was different to the last time.

“With so much love for the show I felt I should craft an ending that would give the show a chance to come back in different ways that didn’t rely on the studios. This is what the finale sets out to do.”

It was confirmed back in February that the soap was to be axed again after Amazon opted against renewing it beyond their original 460-episode commission, with the final episode set to air on Thursday 11th December.

When filming concluded in July, Herbison said: “Neighbours is a special show and it’s been a privilege to make the recent seasons for our loyal viewers around the world. We have added 460 episodes to our legacy of over 9,000 episodes, something we all feel proud of.

“Once again, we will be resting the residents of Ramsay Street on a hopeful note, with some tantalising possibilities for a future chapter.”

WWE icon John Cena overcome with ‘disbelief and appreciation’ after final hometown show

John Cena felt “grateful disbelief and appreciation” after wrestling in his hometown for the last time.

John Cena wrestled in front of a hometown crowd for the last time

On Monday’s (10.11.25) episode of WWE Raw on Netflix, the star had his final match in Boston just weeks before his retirement bout takes place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.

The 48-year-old actor – who grew up nearby in West Newbury, defeated Dominik Mysterio, 28, to win the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his 23-year career.

Alongside a clip of him celebrating, he wrote on X: “Thank you Boston. It meant so much to be able, for one last time, to be allowed an opportunity to do what I love, in a place I love, surrounded by those I love.

“Our performances are only meaningful if YOU the audience invest in us and decide they are.

“The smile on my face and awe in my eyes in this small clip is an honest show of grateful disbelief and appreciation for all you’ve ever invested in me.

“Last night meant more than I can ever express. Thank you Boston.”

Cena became a legend in professional wrestling before making the jump to Hollywood, and this year he has embarked on a farewell tour before his career comes to an end.

In July, a press release announcing a new deal between WWE and Peacock, NBC Sports confirmed: “Saturday Night’s Main Event on Dec. 13 will feature John Cena in his retirement match.”

Cena’s final opponent is currently unknown, with a 16-man tournament being held on WWE programming to determine his last rival.

He previously admitted his age is one of the reasons he’ll be retiring in four month’s time.

He told PEOPLE magazine: “Age plays a factor. I’m not as strong or as fast as I used to be.

“I made a promise when I started gaining some notoriety that when I’m a step slower, I will go, because there will be kids just as hungry as I was who have earned a shot to see if they can make it.”

Amitabh and Piyush shared a long and memorable professional partnership that lasted for many years. They collaborated on some of India’s most memorable advertising campaigns, including the iconic “Pappu Pass Ho Gaya” series for Cadbury Dairy Milk, the Polio Eradication campaign featuring Amitabh’s impactful “Do Boond Zindagi Ki” message, and the Gujarat tourism advertisements that defined an era of Indian television.

‘Hello Betty,’ True Story Behind a Swiss Icon, Boarded by Picture Tree

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Berlin-based sales company Picture Tree Intl. has acquired worldwide sales rights including Germany and Austria from C-Films to “Hello Betty,” the upcoming feature from director Pierre Monnard, who also directed “Winter Palace,” the first Swiss series co-produced by Netflix.

The film centers on the true story of Emmi Creola, the visionary advertising pioneer who created the Swiss culinary icon Betty Bossi in 1956 — a fictional figure who went on to become a household name across generations and language regions in Switzerland.

“Hello Betty,” which stars Sarah Spale, portrays a woman navigating ambition, creativity and the limitations of a male-dominated society. What began as a clever marketing idea became a cultural phenomenon, shaping the way a nation cooked and viewed modern domesticity.

Producer Peter Reichenbach of C-Films said, “Everyone in Switzerland knows Betty Bossi. This film finally tells the story of the brilliant woman behind the name. It’s a story with humor, heart, and universal resonance.”

“ ‘Hello Betty’ is a rare mix of strong emotional storytelling and commercial accessibility,” added Andreas Rothbauer, managing director of Picture Tree Intl. “It has all the ingredients to travel widely — a charismatic female lead, a fascinating real-life story, and broad audience appeal.”

The film will premiere on Nov. 4, 2025, and will be released nationwide across all language regions of Switzerland starting Nov. 20, through Ascot Elite Entertainment.

“Hello Betty” is produced by C-Films in co-production with SRF Swiss Radio and Television, SRG SSR and CH Media TV AG, with support from the Federal Office of Culture, Zurich Filmfund, Cinéforom, Loterie Romande, Stage Pool Focal/Ernst Göhner Foundation and Suissimage, in collaboration with Ascot Elite Entertainment.

Diane Keaton, ‘Annie Hall’ Star and Style Icon, Dies at 79

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Keaton accepted her Academy Award in signature style—a taupe blazer pinned with a pink carnation, a swaggeringly long skirt and clumpy ankle boots. She earned three more Best Actress Oscar nominations for Reds (1981), Marvin’s Room (1996) and Something’s Gotta Give (2003), for which she scooped a Golden Globe. Her performance as feminist Louise Bryant in Reds was feted as “nothing less than splendid” by The New York Times.

A face of L’Oréal since 2006, Keaton was a family favourite in Father of the Bride (1991), Father of the Bride Part II (1995) and The First Wives Club (1996). She later starred in The Family Stone (2005), Hampstead (2017), Book Club (2018) and voiced Dory’s goldfish mother in Finding Dory (2016). She directed Unstrung Heroes (1995), Hanging Up (2000), starring Lisa Kudrow and Meg Ryan, an episode of Twin Peaks (1991) and music videos including Belinda Carlisle’s 1987 hit Heaven Is a Place on Earth.

Keaton starred in eight Woody Allen films, including Manhattan, Sleeper (1973), Love and Death (1975), Radio Days (1987) and Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993), which earned her a Best Actress Golden Globe Award nomination. The couple first met—and dated for many years after—in 1968 when Keaton auditioned for Allen’s Broadway production of Play It Again, Sam at the Broadhurst Theatre, New York. She landed the lead part as the neurotic Linda Christie and reprised the role in Allen’s 1972 screen version. “She’d come in every day with an absolutely spectacularly imaginative combination of clothes. They were just great,” Allen told Rolling Stone in 1977. “Oh, she would—she was the type that would come in with, you know, a football jersey and a skirt… and combat boots and, you know… you know, oven mittens.” Allen predicted then that she “could be the biggest female star in the country.” The New York Times review read, “The supporting cast, especially Miss Keaton, is excellent.”

4 Diane Keaton Comfort Movies to Watch in Honor of the Late Actor and Style Icon

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Rest in peace, Diane Keaton. On October 11, a Keaton family spokesperson confirmed to People that the legendary actor and style icon had died, withholding any further details and calling for privacy “in this moment of great sadness.”

Throughout her life, Keaton’s sharp comedic timing and grounded emotional performances made her a prolific muse for Hollywood’s most prominent filmmakers across genres, from Francis Ford Coppola and Nancy Meyers. Off-screen, she defied expectations for Hollywood’s leading ladies, cementing her position as a red carpet disruptor through her affinity for exaggerated tailoring and whimsical takes on menswear, including a vast collection of bowler hats and oversized neckties.

Since her on-screen debut in 1970’s Lovers and Other Strangers, Keaton starred in several of Hollywood’s most seminal films, from The Godfather (1972) and it’s successors to comedies like the Book Club franchise to rom-coms like Something’s Gotta Give (2003), which earned the actor one of her four Academy Award nominations. Of course, Keaton took home the Oscar for best actress in 1977 for her role in Annie Hall, one of her many collaborative efforts with controversial filmmaker Woody Allen.

It’s impossible to narrow down Keaton’s breadth of work to a handful of roles that define her impact on cinema, fashion, and American culture as a whole. Instead, here are just four of her most comforting, cozy projects to watch in her honor tonight and in perpetuity.

Zubeen Garg, Assamese Music Icon, Passes Away In Tragic Scuba Diving Accident

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Celebrated singer and Assamese cultural icon Zubeen Garg has passed away after a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore. He was 52 years old. Reports indicate that local authorities pulled him out of the sea and immediately rushed him to a hospital, where they admitted him to the intensive care unit. Despite the medical team’s best efforts, they were unable to revive him.

The news of his sudden demise left fans devastated and sent shockwaves through the Assamese community and the wider Indian music industry. Zubeen was in Singapore to participate in the North East Festival, where he was scheduled to perform. His death is being described as an irreparable loss not just to the world of music but also to the cultural identity of Assam, where he was considered a voice of the people.

A Legacy That Transcended Music

Over his decades-long career, Zubeen Garg recorded thousands of songs in multiple languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, and Tamil, showcasing an immense versatility that few could match. While many across India first recognized him for the haunting Bollywood track “Ya Ali” from the 2006 film Gangster, his artistic influence ran far deeper in his home state of Assam. There, he was a symbol of regional pride and a driving force behind promoting local music and cinema.

His journey began in the early 1990s in Assam, where he quickly rose to prominence with his unique fusion of folk, rock, and classical music. His album Anamika became a monumental hit, catapulting him to stardom within the region. Zubeen was not just a singer; he was also a composer, lyricist, and producer. He composed music for more than 150 albums and films and directed several Assamese films, including the critically acclaimed Mon Jai. His ability to connect with the pulse of the youth made him an inspiration and a role model for a new generation of artists in the Northeast.

Beyond his musical contributions, Zubeen Garg was an outspoken and active philanthropist. He used his platform to champion youth and social causes, often lending his voice to movements for regional rights and environmental protection. He was a unifying cultural figure whose songs captured both the joys and struggles of the Northeast, making him more than an entertainer; he was a cultural phenomenon. His artistry provided a soundtrack to the lives of millions, from the spirited celebrations of Bihu to the solemn calls for change. He fearlessly took on social issues, and his voice became a beacon of hope for many in the region.

The Shock and Outpouring of Grief

The news of Zubeen Garg’s tragic passing sent a ripple of disbelief and grief across the country. Fans flooded social media platforms with tributes, live concert clips, and personal anecdotes, expressing their sorrow. Colleagues, admirers, and political leaders from across the Northeast and beyond shared their condolences. They remembered him not just for his songs but for his unwavering commitment to his roots and his people.

His death is a profound loss for the Assamese community, which had come to see him as a symbol of its modern identity. His music will continue to be a source of comfort and pride, but his physical presence, which represented a fusion of artistry and activism, will be deeply missed. As tributes continue to pour in, they paint a picture of a man who was a musical visionary and a true son of the soil. His legacy is etched not only in the thousands of songs he recorded but also in the hearts of a people who considered him their voice.
