Scissor Sisters announce huge UK outdoor shows for summer 2026

Scissor Sisters have announced some huge UK outdoor shows for next summer.

Dubbed ‘The Kiki Continues’ tour, the shows will see the New York band perform live at London’s Brockwell Park on May 31, before continuing with a stop at Ludlow Castle in Shropshire on July 26.

The rest of the new dates all take place the following month, and include gigs in Saffron Walden, Scarborough and Halifax on August 6,8 and 9 respectively. They wrap up the shows with a final night at the Queens Park Recreation Ground in Glasgow on August 30.

These new shows add onto the handful of festival dates the band have lined-up for the UK over the summer – including a headline slot at London’s Mighty Hoopla, Hampshire’s Boomtown Fair, and Cornwall’s Rock Oyster Festival.

Tickets for the outdoor headline gigs go on sale next Friday (November 21) at 10am. Visit here for tickets and check out a list of tour dates below.

Scissor Sisters’ 2026 UK outdoor shows are:

MAY
31 – London, Brockwell Park

JULY
26 – Ludlow Castle

AUGUST
6 – Saffron Walden, Audley End
8 – Scarborough, Open Air Theatre
9 – Halifax, Piece Hall
30 – Glasgow, Queens Park Recreation Ground

While the band have not shared an album of new music since 2012’s ‘Magic Hour’, they did share a standalone single called ‘Swerlk’ with MNDR in 2017, as well as reissue their self-titled debut album in 2024, and follow that up with a ‘Deluxe Expanded’ version earlier this year.

They also supported Kesha on her recent run of across North American shows, and celebrated their 20th anniversary by heading out on tour and playing a huge slot at Glastonbury, bringing out Sir Ian McKellen as a special guest.

Towards the end of 2024, singer Jake Shears and bassist Babydaddy also spoke to NME about the tour dates planned for 2025, and how it felt to be described by some as a “gay band”.

When asked if it “grated” them to have that label, Shears replied: “It did, yeah. I was looking at our straight counterparts, and, I had a bit of resentment that we sort of had this extra label that made it easier for some [people] to dismiss us. I think I had a bit of a chip on my shoulder about that.”

Babydaddy agreed, saying: “It’s a lot less loaded now, but in that moment, I think there was a question of, like, ‘Are people saying that to put [the band] in its own little box?’ I don’t really know what it was supposed to say, except that we were open about who we were, and there were some themes [in our music] that were definitely queer themes.”

Emmerdale airs huge twist as character ‘returns back from the dead’

by jummy84 November 6, 2025

This article contains references to child sexual exploitation that some readers may find distressing.

An Emmerdale character who seemingly died last week is actually very much alive.

As viewers of the ITV soap have witnessed, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and her boyfriend Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) have been groomed into a life of drug and sex trafficking by twisted Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) and Ray Walters (Joe Absolom).

They planned to flee the village and start afresh, but were soon caught on the outskirts of Leeds and ordered to return home.

Celia sent April to meet another client. ITV

With their ‘debt’ towards the pair worsening, April was told that another client had been booked for her to sleep with, and this time she had no option but to go through with it.

The youngster headed to a house in Hotten, where client Callum (Max Lohan) reminded her that although the door was open and she could leave at any time, he had booked her services for the entire evening and he’d have to alert Celia to the matter.

As he began to make his advances, a fearful Amelia whacked him around the head with a vodka bottle – apparently to his death.

With nobody she could turn to for help, she was forced to admit all to her groomers. Celia agreed to cover the tracks so that they wouldn’t be implicated, and Ray headed off to deal with the grizzly crime scene.

Celia warned April that should she cause anymore trouble for their scheme, she’d play ‘Burn, Stab, Drown’ with grandad Bob (Tony Audenshaw), dad Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Dylan.

In tonight’s episode, the teen sat alone in the village, knowing it was only a matter of time before Ray gave her another job.

Sure enough, he soon pulled up and told her that he was needing drug dealers in Newcastle, and April saw this as an opportunity to escape his clutches for a while.

After telling Marlon that she was staying with a friend’s sister at Newcastle Uni, she said her goodbyes to brother Leo and prepared to go.
On the outskirts of the village, Ray was having a secret meeting with none other than Callum, the man she supposedly killed.
Will April find out the truth?

The Prodigy promise new “fuckin’ evil rave” music and to “deliver the punch” for huge 2026 shows

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

The Prodigy‘s Liam Howlett has spoken to NME about some “fuckin’ evil rave” music on the horizon and what’s in store for their run of huge outdoor shows in 2026.

After their UK and Ireland arena dates this April and May – a 12-date tour that sold out in record time and included two dates at Wembley Arena – the rave pioneers will now be playing some massive ‘Warrior’s Dance’ outdoor gigs next summer. These will mark some of the band’s biggest shows since the death of frontman Keith Flint in 2019.

“Every time we go out for a new tour or big shows like this, we spend a lot of time talking about what is possible – how can we make it better,” Howlett told NME. “We always try to make sure things are different and moving forward , but always delivering the punch, which it will.”

The tour will feature what promises to be a riotous Saturday show at Milton Keynes Bowl – made famous by the likes of David Bowie, Queen and Green Day – with the band returning after their legendary appearance at the iconic venue back in 2010.

“That Milton Keynes Bowl ‘Warriors Dance’ gig was like our Oasis at Knebworth,
it was a big moment for us as we had practically broken up during the early 2000’s,” recalled Howlett. “Then we all came back together in the studio to do ‘Invaders Must Die’ [2009], and that gig was the culmination of that album and what we had done before. It was an important and memorable gig for us.”

The founder, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist continued: “One thing that sticks in my mind is we were tearing around the site in golf buggies before it opened, racing around… Keef [Keith Flint] crashed into my one and ran me off the path into a bush.

“Keef was a master on two wheels, superbikes on track and the road, but he was a fucking terrible driver in anything with four wheels, during the mid ’90s Maxim [vocalist], Leeroy [Thornhill, former keyboardist] and me got to the point where we just refused to get in the car with him if he was driving.”

Howlett said that the band had considered playing other venues on the tour, but that the Bowl “just had more meaning for us”.

“A lot of shit has happened since then, and it just feels right to us to be back there to ignite the night once again,” he added.

The iconic DJs Carl Cox and David Rodigan will be on the bill for all four of The Prodigy’s ‘Warrior’s Dance’ shows, while drum’n’bass legend Andy C will play at the Milton Keynes and Manchester shows. Japanese producer ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U and British trap metal artist SCARLXRD will also be at the Milton Keynes, Manchester and Edinburgh dates.

“We specifically asked Carl, Andy C and David Rodigan to join us on these gigs because each of them have been important figures of inspiration to us at key points with the band over the years,” explained Howlett. “I remember being in a club in London late 1990 and Carl played ‘Everybody In The Place’ from our first EP before it was released. I couldn’t believe it. That was the first time I’d heard my music being played outside the studio. That will always be a memorable moment for me.

“People who are into our band will know that Andy C remixed ‘Firestarter’, which was never gonna be an easy task. I know this because I find it fucking impossible to remix my own tunes, especially that one, but he smashed it apart, gave it a different angle and made a monster of a tune, a classic. Andy was also Flinty’s favourite DJ.”

Howlett also recalled how he would listen to Rodigan on the radio long before The Prodigy had formed. “He has always been there as a figurehead, playing inspirational rare music that I love, which became ingrained in my mind and part of the make-up of what I think about when writing Prodigy music,” he said. “I have a deep respect for all three of them.”

Spotlighting the rest of the support acts, he said: “We are also honoured to have the skills of ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U direct from Japan, bringing his killer ‘Firestarter’ x ‘Kuliki’ mash-up from his Boiler Room set. And lastly SCARLXRD live, coming with his heavy as fuck mayhem.”

When Howlett last spoke to NME in 2024 (and the year before that), he teased progress on new material – saying that they were “writing bigger tunes and finding different ways to sonically attack the crowd”.

“Yeah, I did tell you that, didn’t I?” replied Hewlett when asked for an update this week, “and yeah, it’s coming along.”

He added: “Before, I described our sound as ‘evil rave’. This time the new tunes sound like ‘fuckin’ evil rave’.”

Asked if Flint’s fingerprints would be across the new record in any way, Howlett told us: “Keef will forever be deeply ingrained in The Prodigy sound. People will feel that when they hear our new music. When I’m writing beats in the studio, he’s always there in my mind, punching the air, spittin’ and snarlin’ in the background.”

So could we finally get some new tunes in 2026?

“Yeah,” replied Howlett. “New prodigy music will be heard next year.”

With a new generation of Prodigy fans to play to, so too are new waves of artists drawing inspiration from the headline-grabbing noise kings. Kneecap, for instance, have drawn comparison to the band for courting controversy while also tearing up festivals and dancefloors with their culture clash of sound.

“Well, there are lots of acts and bands out there doing their thing live,” ended Howlett. “I make sure I see as many as I can when I hear any noise about them, but none of them are The Prodigy.

“The Prodigy have only always been about the music, the escapism, the crowd, chaos, the unity, integrity and the ruckus. And that’s the way it will stay.”

The Prodigy’s full upcoming 2026 tour dates are below, with tickets to the new ‘Warrior’s Dance’ August gigs on general sale from 9am Friday (November 7) and available here.

AP Dhillon reveals why he refused to sing for Bollywood despite offer from ‘huge actors’: They exploit the song, artiste

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Punjabi singer AP Dhillon has carved a niche for himself by entertaining audiences with chart-topping hits such as Brown Munde, Excuses, With You and Dil Nu, among others. In a recent conversation on a podcast with YouTube channel SMTV, Dhillon opened up about why he has never sung for Bollywood and accused certain actors of exploiting artistes.

AP Dhillon reveals why he never sang a song for Bollywood.

AP Dhillon on refusing to sing songs for Bollywood movies

AP Dhillon discussed refusing to sing for Bollywood and said in Punjabi, “I’ll tell you why I’ve never done a Bollywood song yet. It’s only because I care for my people. It’s not about Bollywood. I want to set an example for my people. I told them that I’m happy to do a song for them, but they must first change the way they do business. They exploit the song and the artiste for their own profit. I don’t want to take names, but a couple of huge actors said that they want my music in their film. I made the song; we even had the scene in mind. But they want to own the song, they want the rights to the song, the remix rights, they want to exploit. That’s not correct.”

He further added, “So, I told them that until they change this, I can’t do a song with them. If I do it, then junior artistes will also have to do it, and I don’t want them to. I don’t want a young artiste to lose out on their source of income by selling their hit song. I don’t want them to be exploited. But the only problem is that the other A-listers are still giving songs.”

Dhillon went on to explain that unless other Punjabi artistes draw a line and say no, there will be no real progress. He noted that if he refuses, Bollywood producers would simply approach the next big Punjabi artiste, as there are “only three or four” of them.

While many Punjabi singers such as Diljit Dosanjh, Karan Aujla, Honey Singh and Badshah have delivered hit songs in Bollywood, AP Dhillon has so far refrained from lending his voice to the industry. He recently collaborated with Shreya Ghoshal on the track Thodi Si Daaru, which also featured Tara Sutaria.

AP Dhillon’s upcoming tour

The singer has announced his ‘One of One India Tour’, during which he will perform in eight cities. The tour will kick off on 5 December in Ahmedabad, followed by Delhi on 7 December, Ludhiana on 12 December, Pune on 14 December, Bengaluru on 19 December, Kolkata on 21 December, Mumbai on 26 December, and will conclude in Jaipur on 28 December.

Farhana Bhatt Created Ruckus By Shredding Neelam Giri’s Family Letter For Captaincy, Had A Huge Fight With Co-Contestants

As Bigg Boss 19 enters its eighth week, the drama within the house reaches new heights, and this time, the housemates are at the center of a major controversy. The highly anticipated captaincy task involving letters from home has created a ruckus, and it’s all thanks to Farhana. While the contestants eagerly await their letters from family members, an unexpected twist leads to chaos, emotional breakdowns, and a food fight that has everyone talking.

Farhana Bhatt

Farhana Bhatt Shredded Neelam Giri’s Letter

During the task each contestant receives a letter from a family member, but the catch is, whoever hands over their letter to a fellow housemate will be eliminated from the captaincy race. The real drama begins when a housemate decides to tear their letter, ensuring they stay in the race to become the next captain. When it’s Farhana’s turn to receive her letter, she gets a letter from Neelam’s family. However, instead of handing it over to Neelam, Farhana takes a shocking step, she rips the letter in front of everyone, sending the house into a frenzy.

Neelam, visibly upset, is unable to contain her emotions and breaks down in tears. This act sets off a series of confrontations, and things quickly escalate into chaos. The fallout from Farhana’s actions doesn’t stop there. In the promo for the October 16 episode, we see Amaal’s fury boiling over. Enraged by Farhana’s disrespectful move, Amal grabs her food plate and hurls it at her, breaking it in the process. His actions only add to the already heightened tension in the house.

Amaal Malik Rift With Farhana

Amaal confronts Farhana, who is eating at the time and asks, “Do you feel like spitting out poison and eating?” Farhana responds with a laugh, but Amaal, not backing down, continues his verbal attack, telling her to be ashamed of her actions. He then proceeds to throw her plate, smashing it to pieces. The confrontation is intense, and Amaal’s anger is evident as he tells Farhana, “She doesn’t regret a single penny.”

“Papa Donald Trump Built A Huge Bungalow For Me’, Rakhi Sawant Giving Tough Competition To Tanya Mittal

Rakhi Sawant, the queen of drama, seems to be taking a page out of Bigg Boss 19 contestant Tanya Mittal’s book, with a series of comical and bizarre statements that are taking social media by storm. Tanya Mittal, known for her long-winded and often over-the-top remarks on the show, has sparked a flood of reactions from viewers who find her style more insufferable than entertaining. Now, Rakhi, never one to shy away from the spotlight, is seemingly adopting a similar approach, which has led to an outpouring of hilarious responses from her fans and critics alike.

Rakhi Sawant

Rakhi Sawant Made Sarcastic Comments

In a recent viral video, Rakhi Sawant made an outrageous claim that is leaving everyone scratching their heads. In the video, she says, “Thank you, Papa Donald… Trump. My Donald Papa does everything for me. He just built a huge bungalow for me in America.” After a brief pause, she corrects herself, adding, “Not Bangalore, but Banglow.” Of course, Rakhi’s quirky way of delivering these lines has sent her fans into a frenzy, with some left in disbelief and others rolling in laughter.

But that wasn’t the only gem from Rakhi. In another video, she shares, “I’m going to London. I’m from America. Donald Trump Papa gave me my favorite car. My Papa is Trump.” The absurdity of Rakhi’s statements has people buzzing all over social media, as she continues to blend her signature brand of humor and outlandishness. As expected, Rakhi’s outbursts didn’t go unnoticed. Social media users have been quick to share their thoughts on Rakhi’s Donald Trump obsession, with many referencing Tanya Mittal’s similarly eccentric behavior on Bigg Boss 19.

Rakhi Sawant

One fan joked, “Rakhi Trump is the next President of the US.” Another witty comment read, “I never thought that I would get to see Shurpanakha in real life in Kaliyuga.” The comparison to Tanya Mittal is also making rounds, with one user saying, “She is getting too inspired by Tanya Mittal.” Some fans also took the opportunity to coin a new name for Rakhi, saying, “Donald Sawant,” while others humorously added, “Say whatever you want, you will not be able to say more than Tanya. Ever since I have heard Tanya, my respect for you has increased even more.”

The Cure add huge Cardiff show to 2026 UK and European summer tour

by jummy84 October 10, 2025
written by jummy84

The Cure have just added a huge Cardiff show to their 2026 UK and European summer tour.

The goth rock legends announced their new tour on September 30, where they’re set to kick off on June 26 at Dublin’s Marlay Park.

After travelling to Belsonic in Belfast on June 28, they’ll stop off at Manchester as part of Live From Wythenshawe Park’s summer series on August 21, before heading off to Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Showgrounds on the 23rd. They’ll also play two outdoor shows in Berlin’s Parkbühne Wuhlheide on July 10 and 11.

Now, The Cure have unveiled a huge Cardiff show to take place in the Blackweir Fields on June 24. The Twilight Sad and The Joy Formidable have been hand-picked by Robert Smith to support The Cure on the day.

Pre-sale will commence on October 16, 10am here, with general sale following on October 17, 10am – get your tickets here.

No London dates have been announced so far, but it’s rumoured the band will play a huge show at the Royal Albert Hall.

— The Cure (@thecure) October 10, 2025

The Cure’s 2026 UK and Ireland headline shows are:

JUNE
24 – Blackweir Fields, Cardiff

26 – Marlay Park, Dublin
28 – Belsonic, Belfast

JULY
10 – Parkbühne Wuhlheide, Berlin
11 – Parkbühne Wuhlheide, Berlin

AUGUST
21 – Live From Wythenshawe Park, Manchester
23 – Edinburgh Summer Sessions, Royal Highland Showgrounds, Edinburgh

Along with their headline dates, The Cure have been announced for a slate of festivals, including headline slots at Rock En Seine, Primavera Sound, and Isle Of Wight Festival.

They’ve also been announced to play Øya, Nova Rock, Rock Werchter, and Open’er festivals.

It will be their first dates together since their show at London’s Troxy last November, an intimate gig with just 3,000 fans in attendance – including Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong, Radiohead‘s Ed O’Brien, Boy George, Mogwai‘s Stuart Braithwaite, and Pedro Pascal.

Smith previously revealed there was another new album that’s “virtually finished” – with a third new record also on the way.

Excitingly, Smith also shared he wanted to finish one of those albums before they start touring, suggesting that it may be released before they officially hit the road in August.

So far, their most recent record is ‘Songs Of A Lost World‘, which we gave a whopping five stars: “The 10-minute opus of ‘Endsong’ – always intended as the album closer – circles back to that full stop from the start: how we’re all ultimately dust and “left alone with nothing at the end of every song”. Merciless? Yes, but there’s always enough heart in the darkness and opulence in the sound to hold you and place these songs alongside The Cure’s finest.

“The frontman suggested that another two records may be arriving at some point, but ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ feels sufficient enough for the wait we’ve endured, just for being arguably the most personal album of Smith’s career. Mortality may loom, but there’s colour in the black and flowers on the grave.”

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’s Box Office Disaster: Varun Dhawan And Janhvi Kapoor’s Film Sees Huge Drop On Day 2! | Glamsham.com

Shashank Khaitan’s romantic comedy-drama Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari hit theatres on October 2 with a promising start but has since seen a steep drop in collections. According to trade tracking portal Sacnilk, the film earned ₹9.25 crore on its opening day. However, the momentum didn’t last. On its second day, which also marked its first Friday, the film saw earnings fall to just ₹4.04 crore—less than half of Day 1’s total—bringing the two-day domestic collection to ₹13.29 crore.

The film recorded an overall occupancy of 14.94% on Friday, with only 9.06% turnout in the morning, slightly improving to 17.44% in the afternoon and 18.33% in the evening. Despite the star power and Karan Johar’s backing, the film is trailing far behind the box office juggernaut Kantara Chapter 1, which earned ₹61.85 crore on Day 1 and ₹43.65 crore on Day 2. Kantara Chapter 1 has now amassed a domestic total of ₹105.5 crore.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari features Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, alongside Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maneish Paul, Akshay Oberoi, and Abhinav. The story revolves around Sunny (Varun Dhawan), whose girlfriend Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) leaves him under family pressure to marry Vikram (Rohit Saraf). Meanwhile, Vikram abandons his fiancée, Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor). Heartbroken, Sunny and Tulsi join forces to sabotage their exes’ wedding and reclaim their love.

While the premise sounds engaging, critics say the film fails to deliver. As noted in a Hindustan Times review, “The message that love shouldn’t be sacrificed due to family pressure is lost, because the families lack depth or credibility. The script leans too much on romance and forgets character development.”

The run of dates is scheduled to kick off in Dublin’s Marlay Park on June 26, before continuing on to Belfast’s Belsonic at Ormeau Park (June 28), Wythenshawe Park in Manchester (Aug. 21) and a night at the Royal Highland Showgrounds (Aug. 23) as part of the Edinburgh Summer Sessions. See the full trek below.

Support for each of the shows will alternate between Mogwai, The Twilight Sad, Slowdive, Just Mustard, Stella and the Dreaming, and The Slow Readers Club.

In addition to the newly-announced gigs, The Cure are set to headline the Isle of Wight Festival next summer, as well as European festivals including Primavera Sound, Nova Rock, and Rock en Seine.

Last fall, The Cure released fourteenth studio album Songs of a Lost World, which topped the Official U.K. Albums Chart and landed at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 – their highest-charting effort in the US since 1992’s Wish. The record reached the summit on five alternate Billboard charts: Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums, Vinyl Albums and Indie Store Album Sales.

Frontman Robert Smith told the Official Charts Company at the time: “It is enormously uplifting, genuinely heartwarming to experience such a wonderful reaction to the release of the new Cure album. To everyone who has bought it, listened to it, loved it, believed in us over the years – thank you!”

Songs of a Lost World marked the legendary act’s first full-length record in 16 years. They performed it in full at Troxy in east London on release day, as well as two shows at the BBC Radio Theatre.

In June, meanwhile, Smith joined Olivia Rodrigo on stage during her Glastonbury Festival headline slot. Rodrigo introduced him as “a personal hero” and “perhaps the best songwriter to come out of England” before the pair duetted on two anthems by The Cure: “Friday I’m In Love” and “Just Like Heaven.”

The Cure U.K. and Ireland 2026 tour dates:

  • June 26: Dublin, Ireland @ Marlay Park
  • June 28: Belfast, Northern Ireland @ Belsonic, Ormeau Park
  • August 21: Manchester, England @ Wythenshawe Park

The team behind BST in Hyde Park announce huge new ‘Roundhay Festival’ in Leeds

by jummy84 September 12, 2025
written by jummy84

A huge new music festival has been announced for Leeds’ Roundhay Park by the team behind BST Hyde Park.

Set to become a central fixture of the north of England’s cultural calendar, a press release for the new festival promised it will host some of the music world’s biggest names, with the first headliner set to be announced soon.

The legendary Roundhay Park has already got a storied history with live music, having played host to the likes of Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Rolling Stones and, most recently, Ed Sheeran.

Launched in collaboration with Leeds City Council, Roundhay Festival will deliver a sizable economic boost to the local area, and will also run a midweek programme of free-to-access
activities for all ages, offering high-quality arts, culture and wellbeing activities as well as providing a platform for local talent at the park during the summer.

Councillor James Lewis, leader of Leeds City Council, said the park was a “fabulous setting” for concerts, adding that the festival would “act as a wonderful showcase” for the city.

“The park is a fabulous setting for concerts, as legendary artists like Madonna, U2 and the Rolling Stones will know from their own fondly-remembered appearances there,” he continued. “It’s also a much-loved part of the fabric of life in Leeds, so it’s fitting that this event will be doing as much as possible to support local vendors, suppliers and staff.”

“Roundhay Festival will act as a wonderful showcase for our city, raising its profile with national and international audiences while delivering an important boost to the local economy. I’m sure music fans, not just in Leeds but across the region and beyond, will agree with me when I say ‘roll on next summer’.”

Organisers AEG Presents, who also run London’s BST Hyde Park, have said they plan to bring premium festival experiences and world-class performances to Leeds.

“Everyone at AEG is thrilled to announce the launch of the Roundhay Festival in Leeds,” Jim King, the CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals, said of the news.

“This landmark event gives us the opportunity to bring world-class artists and world-leading production to even more fans, while building on the park’s incredible musical legacy. Roundhay Park already holds an extraordinary place in music history, having hosted concerts from some of the biggest artists of all time and we cannot wait to add to that story.”

Roundhay Festival’s headliners, full line-ups and programmes are set to be announced soon.
