Music Declares Emergency have launched a new ‘Hope Over Fear’ t-shirt campaign with IDLES, Yard Act, Enter Shikari, Maisie Peters, jasmine 4.t and many more artists.

In support of their ‘No Music On A Dead Planet’ campaign to establish regional climate hubs across the UK, a host of acts including Sleaford Mods, The Pogues, Editors, Declan McKenna and more will join with the charity to promote the launch by wearing one of three campaign t-shirts and “sharing messages of hope with their fans” throughout November.

The charity partner and Music Venue Trust will see each hub bring fans, artists, and organisers together to create, collaborate, and take action through gigs, workshops and local organising.

The campaign for government action on climate change is spearheaded by three new designs from Anthony Burrill, with profits from the sale of the t-shirts going to “directly fund the creation and maintenance of the groups across the UK & Ireland”.

They can be purchased here from today (November 10).

Lewis Jamieson, CEO of Music Declares Emergency said of the campaign: “Five years since our launch of NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET, a slogan that has come to encapsulate the commitment of artists, music businesses and fans to making a positive contribution to acting on the climate emergency, we felt it was time to bring a new message.

“By bringing our message into towns and cities across the UK through the amazing grassroots venues that are the starting point for so many musical journeys and the creative hubs that underpin UK music, we will strengthen the bonds between music fans, music promoters, and artists who are committed to making a positive difference in their communities. In doing so, we will build a roadmap from declaring an emergency to creating the alternative.”

Mark Davvyd, CEO of The Music Venue Trust added: “Grassroots Music Venues are a fundamental part of their communities and play a key role in bringing people together through music.

“By partnering with Music Declares Emergency for HOPE OVER FEAR, we aim for those venues to be at the centre of an initiative that offers spaces for innovation, discussion and collaboration and celebrates the cultural power of music to bring positive change for the benefit of everyone.”

It comes after WWF and Music Declares Emergency teamed up with huge names from across the music industry to create a new British Isles music nature map earlier this year.

In the past, ‘No Music On A Dead Planet’ has been backed by the likes of Billie Eilish and Foals as well as having shirts designed by Thom Yorke, Joy Division artist Peter Saville and others.

Previously to mark Earth Day and Turn Up The Volume Week, a number of artists spoke out in support in No Music On A Dead Planet’s campaign for government action on climate change.

Savages drummer and Music Declares Emergency co-founder Fay Milton also previously spoke out about the need for the industry as a whole to change its habits to help beat climate change.

‘The Leaves Hang Trembling’ Finds Hope in One Serbian Teacher’s Story

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Serbian filmmaker Stefan Djordjević is prepping his sophomore feature, “The Leaves Hang Trembling,” a hybrid docufiction that explores the impact of a teacher’s life and work on the people around her. The project took home the top prize last week at the Crossroads Co-Production Forum in the Thessaloniki Film Festival’s industry section, Agora.

As with Djordjević’s feature debut, “Wind, Talk to Me,” which premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival this year before winning the top prize at Sarajevo, “The Leaves Hang Trembling” is a cinematic ode to the director’s late mother, who he describes as “the most important person in my life.”

Djordjević’s first film — a deeply personal attempt to reckon with his mother’s death — earned a rapturous review from Variety’s Guy Lodge, who praised the “marvelous” docufiction for how it worked through grief “with wit, grace and imagination…weav[ing] fact, fiction and memory into a heart-bursting tribute to [the director’s] late mother.”

“The Leaves Hang Trembling” is a companion piece to that film, broadening its scope beyond the four walls of the Djordjević family home. “‘Wind, Talk to Me’ was about how [my mother] inspired my family,” the director told Variety. “But with ‘The Leaves Hang Trembling,’ we can also see how she touched others as well.”

The film documents the life of Djordjević’s mother, Negrica Neca Đorđević, who in 2002 was hired by a local elementary school, where she worked for more than a decade as a beloved teacher, community leader and president of the teachers’ union. Fourteen years later, she was summarily dismissed without cause, “leaving her devastated emotionally,” and with the sense that “her faith in community and loyalty [had been] betrayed,” according to the director.

In her darkest moment, however, Neca’s students rallied behind her and rose up in her defense, rekindling her hope and her faith in her community. Using direct quotes from her diaries and letters, as well as contemporaneous audio recordings of the events as they unfolded, “The Leaves Hang Trembling” will tell the story of an inspirational woman “who gave so much of her energy, and also dedication and caring and love” to her family, her students and her community.

Djordjević said the film “explores what it means to care beyond rules, to connect with others in ways that endure,” while also urging audiences “to feel the courage and compassion of the teacher, to witness the quiet strength of everyday care, and to leave believing in the transformative power of human connection.”

“The Leaves Hang Trembling” is being produced against the backdrop of a broad, student-led protest movement that for the past year has galvanized the Serbian public against President Aleksandar Vučić. It began last November, after the collapse of a railway station canopy in the city of Novi Sad that killed 16 people, sparking outrage over the endemic corruption and the culture of impunity that many Serbians blamed for the disaster.

At this week’s industry award ceremony in Thessaloniki, where “The Leaves Hang Trembling” won the top prize in the Crossroads Co-Production Forum, producer Dragana Jovović, of Belgrade-based Non-Aligned Films, who’s producing the film in co-production with Vanja Jambrović of Restart, dedicated the win to Dijana Hrka, the mother of a 27-year-old man, Stefan, who was killed in the Novi Sad tragedy. Earlier this month, Hrka launched a hunger strike in front of Serbia’s National Assembly, demanding a “real investigation” into the events at Novi Sad and calling for “the liberation of all arrested students during the protest,” according to Jovović.

While Djordjević said he wants to make a “universal film,” he also recognizes that the events of “The Leaves Hang Trembling” and the current political crisis in Serbia are connected. Since last year, many Serbian teachers and university professors have been summarily dismissed for supporting the student protests; in many cases, noted Djordjević, the students have rallied in their teachers’ defense.

That’s why the director sees “The Leaves Hang Trembling” as not only a testament to his late mother and the lives she touched, but as a part of his country’s “collective memory” — a history that continues to be written in real time.

The events depicted in the film “didn’t just happen nine years ago,” Djordjević said. “It’s still happening, and on a bigger level.”

The Thessaloniki Film Festival runs Oct. 30 – Nov. 9.

Nobody Wants This Team on Noah’s Evolution, Adam Brody’s Season 3 Hope

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Nobody Wants This season two has now been out in the world for two weeks, marking just enough time for the cast and creators to get back together and break it all down.

That’s exactly what happened on Friday afternoon, as Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn joined creator Erin Foster, co-showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan and music supervisor Manish Raval for a FYC event in L.A., as they dove into the newly released season. The show follows the unlikely relationship between agnostic podcaster Joanne (Bell) and rabbi Noah (Brody), as Foster revealed her specific intentions with Brody’s character this time around.

“Noah was such a green flag all of season one, but I do think that something we talked about in season two is — not to take it too seriously, but — you do have a bit of a responsibility when you’re making a romantic comedy in how you represent what relationships should be like. And there was something that sort of didn’t sit right with me that Noah came across like this perfect guy, because that isn’t realistic,” Foster explained, then quickly making an exception for her own husband and Brody himself.

She continued, “It was something that we talked about that was definitely important to me, to show Noah as an imperfect boyfriend, or just because he’s perfect for Joanne doesn’t mean he was perfect for the women who came before her. Sometimes the person you fall for that’s great with you wasn’t great for someone else; that’s how relationships work and I did want to show him in that light.”

The conversation also touched on bringing in Lupe’s former Succession co-star Arian Moayed as her love interest — which the actress credited Konner with coming up with as “I kind of thought Succession was off the table, like I thought we can’t have a crossover” — and about highlighting Los Angeles in the show. Foster explained shooting in L.A. actually came about as part of Bell agreeing to star, as she told the team her kids are in school and she wasn’t going to work in another city. “We’re like, ‘Oh no, we have to work from home,’” Foster joked, with Konner adding, “By the way, I hope that you inspire other actors to do that,” in using their leverage to keep production local.

The group went on to gush about Brody’s wife Leighton Meester guest starring this season, and Brody revealed some of his hopes for season three while speaking about his close relationship with Simons, who plays his brother Sasha.

“I’ve been a fan for a long time, but we’ve had the best time together,” Brody said. “When I saw the second season, I called Erin and I said, ‘I really liked it and I have just a few thoughts for maybe season three I want to whisper in your ear.’ I don’t know if they’re gonna be manifested or not, but I was like, ‘No. 1, could I have more scenes with Tim?’”

Foster teased, “And we said no,” before revealing that Bell and Brody didn’t do a chemistry read with each other, but did with the actors auditioning to play their siblings. “When it came down to who was going to play Sasha, there were a couple other people, I’m sorry Tim, that we also liked. And we were like, ‘This is hard to choose, there’s great people,’” Foster said. “I remember I said to Adam, ‘Who do you feel the most like you would be best friends with?’ I said, ‘The most important thing to me is who do you feel the most relaxing conversation, like back and forth with?’ And he was like, ‘Hands down, Tim.’” Simons didn’t know Brody has endorsed him in that way, leading Tohn to exclaim, “That’s cute as shit!”

Nobody Wants This season two is now streaming on Netflix.

‘I Hope He Reaches Top 2’, Divya Agarwal Supports Abhishek Bajaj Amid Ex-Wife Akanksha Jindal’s Allegations

The ongoing season of Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 19 continues to make headlines with its intense drama and real-life controversies. One of the contestants, Abhishek Bajaj, recently found himself in the spotlight after his ex-wife Akanksha Jindal made serious allegations against him, including claims of infidelity. Now, Abhishek’s close friend and actress Divya Agarwal has spoken out in his defense, expressing her support and admiration for him.

Divya Agarwal

In a candid conversation with one of the media houses, Divya Agarwal revealed that she has known Abhishek Bajaj for more than 12 years. She even shared that he attended her wedding, calling him one of her oldest and most trustworthy friends. “I have known Abhishek Bajaj for 12 years. He was also a part of my wedding. I was shocked to learn about his exit from Bigg Boss 19. He is doing very well in the house and is one of the strongest contestants. I really hope he reaches the top 2,” said Divya.

Addressing the controversy surrounding Abhishek’s past marriage, Divya explained that it’s natural for someone to feel uncomfortable when their personal history is brought up on a national platform. “Fear is justified. I attended his wedding as well. Perhaps he’s afraid because he doesn’t want to bring his past back into his life. He’s moved on, and it’s not right to dig up his past,” she said. Divya further emphasized that Abhishek has evolved over the years and worked hard to become a better person.

Divya said, “He’s seen many changes in his life since the divorce. He’s improved as a person and done a lot of good things”. Speaking about Akanksha Jindal’s accusations of infidelity, Divya chose to stay neutral but pointed out that there are always two sides to every story. “I won’t take sides. No matter what happens between a husband and wife, you’ll never get a definitive answer as to who’s right or wrong. Each side has its own story,” she said.

First Trailer for Joe Carnahan’s ‘Not Without Hope’ Boat Rescue Movie

“Hope is the strongest thing we have.” VVS Films has revealed the first official trailer for a survival movie called Not Without Hope, adapted from the book of the same name. This is set for release in theaters this December. Directed by Joe Carnahan, it’s one of two upcoming movies he has coming out back-to-back – he also has The RIP scheduled for January. Not Without Hope tells the true story of four friends stuck in the Gulf of Mexico when their fishing boat capsizes during a storm. The book description sums it up nicely: “an inspiring and unforgettable story of courage and strength, friendship and loss, and, most importantly, hope, in the vein of Touching the Void, Into Thin Air, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, and Piers Paul Read’s classic survival tale, Alive.” This intense open water survival thriller stars Zachary Levi as Nick Schuyler, Quentin Plair as Marquis Cooper, Terrence Terrell as Corey Smith, Marshall Cook as Will Bleakley, with Josh Duhamel as the Coast Guard Captain and JoBeth Williams as Marcia. Of course this reminds me of The Perfect Storm, but it looks nowhere near as good as that movie. This doesn’t look that great at all.

Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Joe Carnahan’s film Not Without Hope, from YouTube:

Not Without Hope Poster

An extraordinary true story. Best friends Nick Schuyler (Zachary Levi) and Will Bleakley (Marshall Cook), and NFL players Marquis Cooper (Quentin Plair) and Corey Smith (Terrence Terrell), depart Clearwater, FL for a fishing trip 70 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico. While attempting to free a trapped anchor before a storm hits, their boat capsizes, throwing the friends violently into the freezing water. US Coast Guard Cpt. Timothy Close (Josh Duhamel) and his crew, beaten back in their air rescue efforts, summon their largest ship to cut through the raging ocean as the group battles massive waves, dehydration, hypothermia, and even sharks, in their epic struggle to survive & return to their loved ones. Not Without Hope is directed by American action producer / filmmaker Joe Carnahan, director of the movies Blood Guts Bullets & Octane, Narc, Smokin’ Aces, The A-Team, The Grey, Stretch, Boss Level, Copshop, and Shadow Force previously. The screenplay is by E. Nicholas Mariani and Joe Carnahan. Based on the book of the same name by Nick Schuyler and Jere Longman. VVS Films will debut Joe Carnahan’s Not Without Hope in Canadian theaters starting December 5th, 2025; it also opens in the US on December 12th later this year. Look any good?

written by jummy84

Hope Street season 5 has finally been given a confirmed released date on BBC One, and it’s sooner than fans might have expected.

The beloved Northern Irish police and crime drama will return to BBC One on Friday 31st October 2025 – what date could be more fitting for such a suspense-filled show than Halloween?

If you just can’t wait, then in an added treat for fans, the opening episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer even earlier – with season 5 currently scheduled to begin on iPlayer on Monday 27th October, with the full season available from 31st October.

Season 5 will also mark a milestone for the TV series as it will see the show’s 50th episode.

Hope Street follows the local police department in the fictional Northern Ireland seaside town of Port Devine where they tackle everything from petty thefts to organised crime, all whilst maintaining relationships with the tight knit local community.

Since its debut in 2021, the show has built up a large fanbase who have fallen in love with the show’s characters and its warm, easy-watching vibe.

The new season will see some new faces join the cast’s ranks. Cameron Cuffe, best known for ITV’s The Halcyon and the BBC adaption of Dolly Alderton’s novel Everything I Know About Love, is joining the cast as Constable Donal Gallagher, who joined the police after his promising rugby career was cut short.

Cuffe is joined by Belfast-born Jenn Murray who has appeared in Hollywood blockbusters Maleficent, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Her character, Dr Sasha Cookson, moves to Port Devine to take over her late father’s medical practice where she finds a spark with the new constable.

But for loyal fans who might be growing concerned, not to worry – core cast members Kerri Quinn, Tara Lynne O’Neill, Aaron McCusker and Niamh McGrady are all confirmed to be returning for season 5.

Marcus Onilude (Luke Jackson), Finnian Garbutt (Ryan Power), Katie Shortt (Brandi McClure), Eleanor Methven (Lois Dunlop), Paddy Jenkins (Seamie McCarthy), RhéAna Kamalu (Chloe Jackson) and Jonny Grogan (Ross Dunlop) are also all back for more. Phew!

Hope For Flowers Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Tracy Reese’s Hope For Flowers brand is five years into production, and when she presented the spring 2026 collection in New York at the Designers & Agents trade show, several buyers made a point to tell her, “this is your best collection ever,” Reese said over Zoom from her office in Detroit. Reese called the range “a quintessential Hope For Flowers collection; it’s very feminine [and] very colorful.” But whereas past outings leaned heavily on signature pieces and expected prints—smocked shirting, block print florals—this one introduced a wider range of fabrics, and a color story that ranged from subdued to dramatic.

Reese sourced an EcoVero georgette for a frilled maxi dress, a shell top, and a midi dress with a draped neckline. “Sheerness has eluded me until we found this fabric because there just aren’t a lot of sustainable sheer fabrics,” she said. The pieces, along with strapless A-line and ruched mini dresses, were in a diffused watercolor print—a pretty mix of pinks, peaches, blues, and a brownish-orange color Reese likened to marmalade. A few of the designer’s favorite silhouettes got an update: harem pants were structured and tailored; shirting fell off the shoulder; and a new iteration of the Hope For Flowers pom-pom pant came in linen with espresso-colored cross-stitch embroidery. “I think this is a time for brown,” she said, noting an espresso floral bustier dress and halter jumpsuit. “Sometimes people are intimidated by brown prints, but it’s time for it. It just looks really chic.”

While the candy-colored concentric squares on a pair of shorts and the vibrant stripes of a spring trench would pop on the runway, producing a show is not a grind that Reese misses; she’s happy to be building Hope For Flowers outside of the traditional brand playbook. “I loved it, I really did,” she says of her days helming her namesake label and being on the official New York Fashion Week calendar. “But I don’t miss sacrificing my life for the runway. And I also think that it’s wonderful to pass the baton to the next generation. I’m happy to yield the stage, and to be in Detroit where the pace is different, where our impact is more felt.”

Lawrence Saint-Victor Gets Emotional as Carter Sends Hope off to Liam

by jummy84 October 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Life can change pretty quickly, and not for the better! That’s what Carter Walton, played by Lawrence Saint-Victor, found out on The Bold and the Beautiful last week when he went from wanting to plan his wedding to Hope (Annika Noelle) to setting her free from their relationship.

The day started out well with the two celebrating Hope’s fashion line, Hope For The Future, being reinstated at Forrester Creations. The jubilation over the revived division prompted Carter to tell Hope that he wanted to plan their wedding.

Alas, viewers saw Carter come to a fast but firm realization that Hope’s heart was with her ex-husband, Liam (Scott Clifton), and their daughter, Beth (Jordyn Gracie). For his heartbreaking performance as a man who has inexpiably lost out in love again, TV Insider is bestowing Performer of the Week honors on Saint-Victor.

Hope became distracted from her wedding plans to Carter by taking a text from Liam that included a photo of him and Beth at their Daddy/Daughter dance. Carter couldn’t help but notice the emotional shift that the woman he loves was able to make so quickly. While moms usually aren’t on the guest lists for those events, Carter knowingly told Hope, “And you want to be there, don’t you?”

Saint-Victor brought an understated gravitas to his delivery on that line and others as he was in the process of coming to the inevitable conclusion that Carter’s relationship with Hope was on the verge of ending.

CBS

“You want to be with Beth and Liam tonight,” Carter said to Hope. Saint-Victor performed the word “tonight” in a way that indicated Carter knew that this wasn’t just for one evening. It was going to be forever.

Hoping against hope that the relationship still might be salvaged, Carter gave a nervous chuckle when he pointed out to Hope that she wasn’t obligated to be at a “Daddy/Daughter” dance given its nature. However, he couldn’t deny where Hope stood. He knew it before she did, in fact.

“Go, be with your family,” Carter told Hope after she shared that she’d love to be there with Beth on her special night.

Again, Saint-Victor played that Carter wasn’t just letting Hope go for the night – he was sending her away forever.

Hope wasn’t quite there yet, realizing that this would be a split for good. She offered to stay in touch with him as the evening progressed. “Stay as long as it feels right,” Carter said with nothing but love in his voice. Slowly, Hope started to come to the conclusion that something was amiss and Carter was talking about an issue that was more substantial than them just being apart for a dance.

“I know we both had ‘hope for our future,’” Carter wistfully said as he noted the play on words between his personal desire and the name of Hope’s company. This wasn’t the first time that the phrase “hope for the future” was employed in dialogue that had nothing directly to do with Hope’s fashion line. We’ve been waiting for someone on the show who uttered those words to be aware of the pun, and Saint-Victor chose to have Carter be aware of the ironic wording at a very emotional time.

He then put it all on the table. “This is really difficult,” he said. Carter struggled a bit but then he found the words that would set Hope free.

“Give your daughter what she wants,” Carter said. “Give her her parents back. That’s what’s in your heart.”

Then, Carter took the engagement ring off Hope’s finger. The two cried and kissed, realizing that while they still loved each other this was for the greater good.

“Goodbye,” Carter said. While some actors can’t muster up tears, Saint-Victor did in these scenes, reminding viewers that real men can — and do — cry.

Emotionally drained, Carter went to Il Giardino to hear Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) perform. Later, she joined him at his table and he updated her on his status as a single man. Despite calling himself a “loser at love,” Carter was able to muster a bit of a smile when Daphne took his hand. (Perhaps there’s hope for their…well, you know the rest.)

Time will tell if and when Carter manages to capture someone’s heart. However, there’s no question that Saint-Victor has the ability to touch our hearts with his vulnerable performances. Bravo!
