Hollywood’s New Obsession: The Rise of the “Quiet Icons” Changing the Fame Game

by jummy84 December 8, 2025
written by jummy84

There’s a new wave sweeping through Hollywood, and it’s not about blockbuster franchises, scandal-driven headlines, or overnight viral fame. This season, the industry’s coolest energy is coming from what fans are calling the “Quiet Icons”  celebrities who don’t need chaos, controversy, or clickbait to dominate the conversation.

From red carpets to social media feeds, these stars are redefining what it means to shine in Hollywood. Instead of loud drama, they bring authenticity, intention, and a vibe that feels refreshingly human in an industry built on noise.

Leading the trend are multi-hyphenates like Lily Collins, who continues to blend classic elegance with modern cool; Barry Keoghan, whose mysterious charm has turned him into the internet’s favorite unpredictable actor; and rising artists like Maya Hawke, who has quietly become the muse of a generation craving softness and originality.

What makes these stars magnetic is simple:
realness is their brand.
They show up to premieres with effortless fashion, post unfiltered behind-the-scenes content, and speak with honesty about their process instead of perfection. No over-curated personas, no performative drama, just vibes, talent, and a sense of grounded confidence.

Even in fashion, the Quiet Icon movement is booming. Stylist-favorite brands like The Row, Khaite, and Tove are leaning into minimal silhouettes and luxe textures that whisper instead of shout. The red carpet has officially entered its “silent luxury with personality” era, and fans can’t get enough.

What’s fascinating is that this shift isn’t accidental, it’s cultural. Audiences are exhausted by spectacle. They want stars who feel real, who make fame look sustainable instead of chaotic, and who bring emotional intelligence to an industry that sometimes forgets what emotion even means.

This new Hollywood energy proves one thing:
You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room to be the most iconic.
Sometimes, the ones who speak softly make the biggest impact.

Hot Pilates Founder Shannon Nadj Shares the Rituals Keeping Her and Hollywood’s It-Girls Grounded and Glowing

by jummy84 December 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Well-rounded wellness is in. Hot Pilates founder Shannon Nadj sat down with ET to mark the 11th anniversary of her heated Pilates studio in West Hollywood, California, and to share the rituals she’s prioritizing as she heads into 2026.

The celebrity instructor behind the sculpted silhouettes of Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Shay Mitchell, Lori Harvey, Sofia Richie, and Selena Gomez has been expanding her approach to offer a true mind-body-soul destination.

“We truly believe workouts are just one part of the bigger picture when it comes to wellness. One of the core principles of Pilates is the mind-body connection, which to me means nurturing our inner world just as much as our outer one,” Nadj explains.

CPR/BACKGRID

Lately, her focus has shifted towards pairing movement with restorative rituals by offering sound baths and co-hosting events with lymphatic drainage hot spot Sous La Los Angeles, conveniently located right next door to her heated and reformer Pilates spaces.

“I’ve been taking care of my mental health by focusing on breath work, meditation, and slowing down. … Sound baths support our well-being on a cellular level, while services like those from Sous La align with our philosophy of intentional self-care.”

Still, Nadj never strays far from the signature sweat and glow that put her fitness destination on the map.

PG/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images

“Prioritizing movement helps us age gracefully and stay strong enough to keep doing the things that bring us joy. Beyond the physical benefits, maintaining a routine builds discipline, and over time, that turns into confidence we can carry with us far beyond our workouts. … Plus, releasing endorphins is like getting a natural boost from our body’s own pharmacy.”

Right now, that means prioritizing low-impact, high-reward workouts that deliver strength without spiking stress.

“I’m currently loving low cortisol workouts with heated mat Pilates and reformer classes,” she says.

And once she leaves, Nadj’s commitment doesn’t slow down. Instead, it simply shifts into a cozier version of TLC.

“I use the hyperbaric chamber at Remedy Place, Normatec compression boots a few times a week to help with inflammation, and do dry brushing in the winter to help with circulation and dry skin. For my face, I use the Celluma LED red light therapy mask, and I keep a humidifier in each room because it gets so dry in L.A.”

The Pilates pro is equally intentional about how she fuels her body.

“I follow an anti-inflammatory meal plan and take TruNiagen supplements and Peptides BPC157 at Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group for inflammation and muscle tissue recovery. I’ve never felt better,” she shares.

Scary Good: How Hollywood’s Most Talented Costume Designers Bring Horror Films to Life

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Later this month, Vogue World: Hollywood will take place on the iconic Paramount Pictures Studio lot in Los Angeles. The show will celebrate the rich conversation between film and fashion, while featuring the work of renowned Hollywood costume designers such as Colleen Atwood, Ruth E. Carter, Arianne Phillips, and more. In anticipation of the grand event (and in honor of spooky season) we couldn’t help but think of the role costume design has played in horror films over the years. Sure, more glamorous or historically-accurate fashion may come to mind when you think of costuming for the big screen, but for those who have leaned into more macabre creations, the end results have been just as thrilling.

If you think about it, strong costumes are a must for a well-executed scary movie (though a great score and special effects will help, too). For years, costumers have been creating spooky serial killers—from Ghostface to Michael Myers—and conjuring up original designs that remain seared into our brains (and promt some of us to look under the bed each night). Take the hockey mask-wearing Jason, or Freddy Krueger in his striped Christmas sweater and knives-for-fingers. Both came to fruition thanks to a costume designer.

Hollywood’s First AI Actress Tilly Norwood Sparks Debate in The Industry

by jummy84 October 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Tilly Norwood, who is recognized as Hollywood’s first AI-generated actress, has become the subject of discussion within the creative community. Developed by Eline Van der Velden and her company, Particle6, Tilly is a computer-generated “girl next door” who has attracted a growing fanbase and interest from talent agencies.

Van der Velden mentioned to an industry panel in Switzerland that studios and entertainment companies are quietly embracing AI technology, which her company believes can significantly reduce production costs. She said, “When we first launched Tilly, people were like, ‘What’s that?’, and now we’re going to be announcing which agency is going to be representing her in the next few months.”

Tilly Norwood has appeared in a short sketch, and it is expected that she will become a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. Van der Velden said, “We want Tilly to be the next Scarlett Johansson or Natalie Portman, that’s the aim of what we’re doing. People are realizing that their creativity doesn’t need to be boxed in by a budget,  there are no constraints creatively and that’s why AI can really be a positive.”

The arrival of Tilly Norwood, however, has been met with some criticism from Hollywood actors and creative professionals. The use of artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry was a major point of discussion during the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes.

Actress Melissa Barrera criticised talent agents who are promoting AI actors, and she encouraged her fellow actors to refrain from supporting them.

On the other hand, Mara Wilson, who was the child star in Matilda, highlighted the ethical concerns about Tilly’s creation. She questioned, “What about the hundreds of living young women whose faces were composited together to make her? You couldn’t hire any of them?”

Regarding the criticisms, Van der Velden shared Tilly’s post defending her creation. She said, “She is not a replacement for a human being, but a creative work – a piece of art. Like many forms of art before her, she sparks conversation, and that in itself shows the power of creativity.”

Hollywood’s Top Agencies Asked To Boycott NYC Hotel

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

EXCLUSIVE: Many of the major talent agencies across New York and Los Angeles, including the likes of CAA, WME and UTA, were hit with a letter Tuesday asking agents and their clients to boycott the Surrey Hotel in New York City, at least for now.

The Hotel and Gaming Trades Council, the union that represents about 40,000 hotel and gaming workers across New York and New Jersey, sent the letter over an ongoing labor dispute with the Surrey’s management.

In it, the HTC asks agents and their clients not only to refrain from booking a stay at the Surrey for the time being but also “consider how your voice, values, and visibility might support workers at this moment.”

Read the letter in full below.

The ongoing dispute began in 2020 when, after the Surrey was forced into bankruptcy, the hotel closed for several years as it changed ownership and underwent renovations before reopening in 2024 under the management of Corinthia Hotels. HTC President Rich Maroko tells Deadline that, in the process, about 100 union hotel workers lost their jobs and were not offered the chance to return upon the hotel’s reopening.

“We tried to get them the list of [former] workers on several occasions, and they just ignored us,” Maroko says. “They chose not to interview any of them and not to hire any of them, and instead hired an entirely new workforce, with few exceptions.”

Maroko also says that the current staff is being paid “significantly less than what they would get if they were unionized, upwards of $10 an hour less, with no benefits or job protections or any of the rest of it.”

In addition to healthcare and pensions, the HTC contracts “provide a middle class living for our members,” Maroko says. While pay ranges depending on exact position, collective bargaining agreements across New York City hotels have secured upward of $40/hour for some positions, including room attendants.

Maroko posits that not only are Corinthia’s current actions unfair, it’s also against the local law. In 2020, New York City passed the Displaced Hotel Service Workers Act, which requires new hotel owners to offer employment to the seller’s hotel workers for at least 90 days after the sale or transfer of ownership.

Deadline understands the HTC has also filed a grievance with the National Labor Relations Board against the management of the swanky hotel. The workers, many of whom are seeking to retain their jobs, have filed a lawsuit against the Surrey as well.

The plea to the agencies is a calculated one, given the hotel’s reputation as a hot spot for A-listers and other media figures, as well as a popular event space. The Surrey has long been known to service celebrities and other high-profile clientele, with nightly room rates starting around $1,000.

“We know that significant portion of their clientele are in the entertainment and media industries, and a lot of them end up going to the hotel without having any idea about who these owners are, who the management company is, or the dispute, and we think that if they did, they would not be” staying at the hotel, Maroko says. “We’re actually quite hopeful that they would be supportive of the one hundred or so workers that find themselves on the street because of the hotel’s actions.”

Deadline has reached out to Corinthia Hotels for comment on the matter. This post will be updated if/when management responds.

The HTC has also planned several in-person actions so far, including a rally outside of the hotel with several hundred union members as well as some local politicians like mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. They also held a rally around the Met Gala as well as other events where hotel management is expected.

There are more in-person actions to come, Maroko assures.

“If you were to hear in detail the stories of some of these workers that are out on the street now, it would really break your heart. In some cases, gave 30 years of their lives to this hotel,” Maroko said. “It’s really heartbreaking that these folks that have spent decades and decades working for the hotel and serving the guests there have been treated so, so callously.”

Here is the letter sent to the agencies in full:

I’m reaching out on behalf of the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council (HTC), the union for hotel and gaming workers in New York and New Jersey. As the respected representatives of some of entertainment’s biggest names, I wanted to make you aware of an issue of gross injustice occurring at the Surrey Hotel in New York City.

We understand many of your clients have either stayed or participated in events at the Surrey, and we come to you on behalf of nearly 100 former employees of the hotel who are fighting to get their jobs back.

While the Surrey Hotel has a tremendous reputation throughout New York City, behind its façade of class and elegance exists a troubling picture of exploitation.

Prior to its closure in 2020, the Surrey operated as a union hotel for decades, with nearly 100 union- represented employees—many of them women, immigrants, and people of color.

When the hotel reopened under new ownership and management in late 2024, nearly all the original workers were not offered their jobs back, despite their years of service and the existence of a New York City law—the Displaced Hotel Service Workers Act—which requires hotels to retain existing staff following a change in control.

Nearly all of the former Surrey workers were denied the opportunity to return to their jobs.

Wages have been slashed. In some departments, such as in-room dining, wages have been cut nearly in half. Housekeepers at the property are getting paid over $10 an hour less than their union-represented counterparts in New York City.

The hotel brought in a subcontracting agency, MevRam, to run housekeeping. Subcontracting agencies are known for pressuring workers to cut corners, unsanitary conditions, wage theft, and other health and safety issues.

The former Surrey workers have banded together and filed a lawsuit in response. The workers seek to return to their jobs at the Surrey, and we ask that your clients join us in supporting them in their struggle.

We see this as a moment of education and coalition building with the clientele that allow The Surrey Hotel to thrive. We have three simple asks:

1. As you plan New York City travel for your clients, we ask that you do not stay at the Surrey Hotel and look into the many union hotels in New York. For your convenience, a list can be found here.

2. We also understand that the individuals or brands that your firm represents may already be staying at or affiliated with the Surrey Hotel, and we hope you will consider how your voice, values, and visibility might support workers at this moment.

3. Finally, if you have a client who would be interested in expressing support for the fair treatment and the right for these workers to return to the Surrey, we would be happy to speak with you about the issue and send you more information.

We will continue to show our support publicly for these workers through protests, social media campaigns and more, for however long it takes. If you show your support, we will be there to cheer you on and show our appreciation.

These workers are not asking for special treatment—they are asking for what the law provides and what basic decency demands. We believe in the power of coalition building, and we hope to work in partnership with you until the former Surrey workers have the opportunity to return to their jobs.

To learn more, please visit http://www.shameonthesurrey.com.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

In Solidarity,
Rich Maroko
President of the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council, AFL-CIO

Flavia Lanini Encourages Men to Get in on Hollywood’s Favorite Lymphatic Drainage Treatment

by jummy84 August 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Go with the flow! Lymphatic drainage expert Flavia Lanini, who counts Dua Lipa, Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Lizzo, Shay Mitchell, and more stars among her loyal clients, is ready to share her A-list approved skills with Hollywood’s leading men.

Known for her effective and rhythmic technique, the Brazilian native believes everyone can benefit from her signature massages.

“Lymphatic drainage is just as important for men as it is for women because it supports the body’s natural detoxification process, reduces water retention, improves circulation, and boosts the immune system,” she tells ET.

Flavia Lanini/Instagram

And the results go more than skin deep.

“Physically, men often notice more muscle tone and definition, as well as a reduction in puffiness, particularly in the abdominal area and face. They can also expect to feel lighter, less bloated, and more energized right after the treatment,” The masseuse explains.

To take it up a notch, Lanini also offers her Detox Treatment: An hour-long lymphatic drainage massage paired with 15 minutes of lipolysis and ultrasound, plus a 30-minute infrared sauna session with clay and creams under a body wrap.

Flavia Lanini/Instagram

“It is especially powerful for men because it stimulates circulation and helps the body recover faster, which makes them look and feel at their absolute best,” she says.

Even better? There’s no downtime required.

“For men, I often use a slightly firmer touch and concentrate more on areas like the abdomen, arms, and back to highlight muscle definition and reduce fluid retention where it tends to accumulate. … Most of them are surprised by how relaxing it feels. It’s not painful at all, and many even fall asleep during the session,” the beautician notes.

Flavia Lanini/Instagram

But, to maintain a buff body, Lanini suggests switching up some habits through consistent appointments and at home.

“For events, red carpets, travel schedules, or long I recommend coming in a few days before, and for ongoing wellness, once or twice a month is ideal,” she shares.

“Drinking plenty of water and reducing excess salt and alcohol also helps, along with stretching, walking, or using a vibration platform. It’s an excellent tool to stimulate circulation, improve lymphatic flow, and keep the body feeling light and energized in between treatments.”
