By Katy Perry’s own admission, her 14-month marriage to Russell Brand was less of a whirlwind and more of a “tornado.” While the chaos hasn’t vanished entirely, things have certainly mellowed since then. Since 2017, Russell has been married to Laura Gallacher, and the two have built a more grounded life together. Now parents and partners, their relationship has weathered its own ups and downs, especially in light of headlines in 2025 surrounding the actor and comedian.

Here’s what you need to know about Laura and their life together today.

Laura Gallacher

Laura Gallacher, reportedly born on June 28, 1987, dated Russell before they tied the knot. “When we first met we were both in a completely different place,” Laura told the Made by Mammas podcast in August 2019, per the Mirror. Her sister is television presenter and model Kirsty Gallacher.

Laura, a lifestyle blogger, dated Russell in 2006. Nine years later, the two bumped into each other randomly out and about. “I hadn’t seen Russell for years… I came down the steps to the canal and Russell was standing there,” she said. “We both immediately knew it was going to be serious.” Laura said that she had “a deep appreciation and love for this person even though I don’t know this person now. He was so different.”

The two had to “rebuild foundations and trust again,” since he was a divorcee and it had been nearly a decade since they were a couple. “It was very slow, it was getting to know each other and going out on day trips together,” she said.

“Suddenly it went fast, six months later, shall we move in, shall we get a puppy, and then after that I found out I was pregnant. We moved in in November and Valentine’s Day the next year I found out I was pregnant,” she added. Russell and Laura welcomed their first daughter, Mabel, in November 2016. Their second child, daughter Peggy, arrived in July 2018. In June 2023, Russell revealed that he and Laura were expecting their third child while appearing on the podcast The Diary of a CEO.

The couple married on August 26, 2017, in an intimate ceremony near their home in Henley-on-Thames, England, per Us Weekly. The wedding was held at Remenham Church. Guests included Oasis singer Noel Gallagher, comedian David Baddiel, and British TV host Jonathan Ross.

While Russell has found wedded bliss with Laura, the same can’t be said about his first marriage to Katy Perry. The couple tied the knot on October 23, 2010, only to divorce 14 months later. “It was the first kind of breaking of my idealistic mind,” Katy in a 2020 interview with 60 Minutes Australia. “I was having great success at 23, 24, and 25 and then I met someone that was interesting and stimulating. It was just like a tornado. Everything happening at once.”

The two began dating after meeting at the 2009 MTVA VMAs. Russell proposed on the following New Year’s Eve while on a trip to India. The couple returned to India for their wedding, but Katy’s career kept them apart. Her 2011 California Dreams world tour took her around the world, and the distance was too much for Russell. He texted his wife on Dec. 31, 2011 – two years after he first proposed – to tell her that he was divorcing her.

“I’ve changed a lot in the last five years,” Russell told Us Weekly in 2017 when reflecting on his past marriage. “I don’t compare my relationships now to previous relationships out of respect to my present wife and to Katy Perry. I think I’m an easier person to be with now. I’m also in a very different situation. I’m dependent on my wife. In relationships, there is always going to be a level of dependency. But I try not to project my problems onto other people and perhaps I’ve not always been like that.”

Since the split, Katy has gone on to find love with Orlando Bloom and start a family with him. She gave birth to their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020. However, by 2025, reports confirmed that the couple had quietly ended their relationship, choosing to co-parent their daughter while focusing on their individual careers.

From the field to sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden, Stefon Diggs and Cardi B have kept fans on their toes since making their romance Instagram official earlier this year. The couple turned heads at a Knicks vs. Celtics playoff game in spring 2025, walking in hand-in-hand for a very public date night. Though they sparked split rumors by midsummer, the two put speculation to rest when Cardi revealed in September that she and the NFL star are expecting their first child together.

While Cardi is a global superstar, some fans may not know much about her partner. Here’s what to know about Stefon Diggs, from his career in football to his growing family with Cardi B.

Stefon Diggs Is From Maryland

Stefon was born on November 29, 1993, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Stefon Diggs Is an NFL Player

According to the New England Patriots website, when it comes to his skills on the field, he has previously shared, “What you saw last week you might not see this week. You might see something you saw two weeks ago.” He added, “I do a lot of watching myself. Watching my tendencies, watching what I put on tape, and I try to play off of that. Just like a chess game. The ability to create space and short-area quickness is what I’m really, really good at.”

Stefon Diggs Is Already a Father

The NFL star is a proud dad to his daughter, Nova, who was born in October 2016. She’s often seen supporting him at games and has become known for her stylish sideline appearances. Her grandmother, Stephanie, also shared in 2022 that Nova practices martial arts.

Cardi also opened up about their relationship, explaining how much they push and inspire each other. “Me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other. We’re like in the same space in our careers,” she said. “I feel like we’re really great and one of the best at what we do. And me and him think the same way — like, ‘Yeah, you’re one of the greatest, but what’s next?’ We just have to keep going, and that’s just who we are.”

Did Ed Gein Really Dig Up His Mother in Real Life? Fact vs. Fiction – Hollywood Life

Ed Gein‘s story and crimes are at the forefront of Netflix’s latest season for Monster: The Ed Gein Story. While the deceased serial killer‘s gruesome lifestyle and crimes are the focus, so is his late mother, Augusta Wilhelmine Gein. Questions surrounding the depiction of Augusta’s character (played by actress Laurie Metcalf) immediately soared among viewers, as some wondered what happened to her in real life and whether her son actually dug up her grave like his other victims.

Who Was Ed Gein?

Dubbed the “Butcher of Plainfield,” Gein is a deceased serial killer and grave robber from Plainfield, Wisconsin, who exhumed corpses and admittedly murdered two women in the 1950s. Police discovered that he had stolen corpses from their graves and turned their remains into home appliances, including bowls and a lampshade made of human bones and skin.

Gein confessed to the murders of tavern owner Mary Hogan in 1954 and hardware store owner Bernice Worden in 1957.

Gein’s gruesome lifestyle and crimes have haunted the nation from the 1950s to today. He was arrested in 1957 and was deemed legally insane in 1968. He spent the rest of his life at the Mendota Mental Health Institute until his 1984 death from respiratory failure at the age of 77.

Who Was Ed Gein’s Mother?

Gein’s mother was Augusta Wilhelmine Gein, who raised him in a strict environment. The religious woman, who died from a stroke in December 1945, influenced both her sons, Ed and Henry (who also died), to believe that all women — apart from herself — were sinful beings.

Augusta’s teachings are widely considered to be the basis of Gein’s crimes after she died.

Did Ed Gein Dig Up His Mother?

No, Gein did not exhume his mother, despite rumors that circulated over the years. He did, however, dig up and steal the corpses of multiple deceased women and kept their remains in his home as appliances and nicknacks.

Is ‘Psycho’ Based on Ed Gein? Movies & Shows Inspired by Serial Killer – Hollywood Life

Few true crime stories have cast as long a shadow over Hollywood as Ed Gein’s. The Wisconsin murderer and grave robber horrified the nation in the 1950s and went on to inspire some of the most iconic horror films ever made. Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960) famously drew from Gein’s twisted crimes, transforming real-life terror into cinematic history. But Psycho was only the beginning.

Over the years, Gein’s disturbing legacy has continued to influence filmmakers, from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to The Silence of the Lambs and, more recently, Netflix’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story. His name remains synonymous with the blurred line between fact and fiction in horror.

Below, learn how Psycho was inspired by Ed Gein, and see which other movies and TV shows were shaped by his chilling story.

Who Is Ed Gein?

Gein was an American murderer and grave robber from Plainfield, Wisconsin, whose gruesome crimes shocked the world in the 1950s. Born on August 27, 1906, Gein lived an isolated life under the strict control of his religious and abusive mother, Augusta Gein, who instilled in him a fear of women and sin.

After her death, Gein began robbing graves, exhuming bodies, and fashioning household items and clothing out of human remains. His deeply disturbed actions would later make him one of the most infamous figures in American criminal history.

What Happened to Ed Gein?

On November 16, 1957, local hardware store owner Bernice Worden went missing in Plainfield, Wisconsin. Investigators traced her disappearance to Gein. When police searched his farmhouse, they uncovered Worden’s mutilated body, along with furniture, masks, and clothing made from human skin and bones. Gein admitted to killing two women—Worden and Mary Hogan, a tavern owner who vanished in 1954—as well as robbing graves for years.

In 1958, he was declared legally insane and committed to Central State Hospital for the Criminally Insane, later transferred to Mendota Mental Health Institute. He remained institutionalized for the rest of his life and died in 1984 at the age of 77 from respiratory failure due to cancer.

Was Psycho (1960) Inspired by Ed Gein?

Yes. Hitchcock’s Psycho was directly inspired by Gein’s real-life crimes. The film’s protagonist, Norman Bates, mirrors Gein in several unsettling ways: both were isolated men with domineering mothers whose deaths triggered psychological breakdowns.

The novel Psycho, written by Robert Bloch in 1959, was influenced by Gein’s case, as Bloch lived just 35 miles from Plainfield. Hitchcock later adapted Bloch’s story into the iconic 1960 film, making Norman Bates one of cinema’s most enduring horror figures.

Movies & Shows Based on Ed Gein

Over the decades, Gein’s story has continued to influence filmmakers and storytellers across generations. His crimes have inspired numerous films and television projects, including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), Deranged: Confessions of a Necrophile (1974), The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Ed Gein (2000), and Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield (2007).

Most recently, Netflix revisited his story in Monster: The Ed Gein Story (2025), starring Charlie Hunnam as Gein and Laurie Metcalf as his mother, Augusta.

Russell Brand made international headlines earlier this year after being charged with rape, sexual assault, and indecent assault by the U.K.’s Crown Prosecution Service. According to the BBC, Jaswant Narwal of the CPS stated, “We have concluded that Russell Brand should be charged with offences including rape, sexual assault and indecent assault. These relate to reported non-recent offences between 1999 and 2005, involving four women.” At the time, the CPS stated that prosecutors had reviewed the evidence and determined that formal charges were warranted.

Following the announcement, Brand responded on social media, denying all accusations and reflecting on his past behavior. “I was a fool, man. I was a fool before I lived in the light of the Lord,” he said. “I was a drug addict, a sex addict and an imbecile, but what I never was, was a rapist. I’ve never engaged in non-consensual activity. I pray that you can see that by looking in my eyes.”

In October 2025, Brand shared another post announcing that he is “taking some time off to reflect on how (or even if) [he] can be of any use in this fraught, tense and often ugly space.”

Russell Brand’s Movies & TV Shows

The actor has gone on to star in several films and television shows such as Arthur, Get Him to the Greek, Rock of Ages, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and more. His roles often blend comedy with eccentric personalities, contributing to his unique on-screen presence.

Is Russell Brand Married?

Yes, Russell is married to illustrator Laura Brand. The couple has three children together. Before his marriage to Laura, he was famously married to pop star Katy Perry. Their marriage lasted for two years, from 2010 to 2012.

He referenced his previous marriage during an April 3 episode of his podcast Stay Free with Russell Brand, saying, “The reasons that a marriage didn’t work are the normal human reasons marriages don’t work, and I have nothing but respect for her.”

He also spoke about it during a 2023 episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge, saying, “Aside from my feelings of affection for Katy, it’s a time that I remember as being a little bit chaotic and a bit, for me, I’ll speak for myself, a little disconnected.”

Russell Brand’s Net Worth

According to  Celebrity Net Worth, Russell Brand has a net worth of $20 million.

Is the Government Still Shut Down? How Long it Will Last – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

The U.S. government shut down at 12:01 a.m. on October 1, 2025, after Congress failed to pass new funding to keep federal operations running. The impasse stems from deep political divisions between Republicans and Democrats, especially over healthcare funding. Democrats insist that any funding deal must include extensions of health insurance subsidies, while Republicans argue those negotiations should be handled separately.

Now, nearly a week into the shutdown, roughly 750,000 federal workers have been furloughed, and major agencies, including the SEC and others, have begun shuttering their nonessential operations. With both sides unwilling to compromise, federal agencies, employees, and millions of Americans are now facing the fallout. What remains unclear is how long this shutdown will last and what it will cost.

Find out more about what caused the shutdown, what services it affects, and how long it may last below.

Why Did the U.S. Government Shut Down?

The shutdown began at 12:01 a.m. on October 1, 2025, after Congress failed to pass a new funding bill for the fiscal year. The biggest sticking point has been healthcare subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Democrats have demanded that the funding package include an extension of these subsidies, while Republicans — who control both chambers — insist that healthcare should be addressed separately from government spending. Disputes also arose over cuts to foreign aid and public broadcasting. With neither side willing to compromise, the deadline passed and the government was forced into a shutdown.

How Long Will the Government Be Shut Down?

Lisa McClain (R-MI), House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-WY), Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), and U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) on the Upper West Terrace of U.S. Capitol Building on October 1, 2025 in Washington, DC. There is no set timeline. The shutdown will continue until Congress can agree on a funding resolution and the president signs it into law. Federal courts have announced they can continue operating through October 17 using reserve funds, but after that, services could slow dramatically. Economists warn that each week of closure could cost the U.S. about $15 billion in GDP losses, putting pressure on lawmakers to resolve the impasse. Historically, shutdowns have lasted anywhere from a single day to more than a month, with the record set at 35 days during 2018–2019.

What Is the Longest Government Shutdown in U.S. History?

The longest shutdown in American history lasted 35 days, from December 22, 2018, to January 25, 2019. It occurred during President Donald Trump’s administration over disagreements on border wall funding. That shutdown furloughed about 800,000 federal workers and caused significant disruptions to government operations nationwide.

Live from the Hollywood Bowl’ Is Unusual and Special

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

The equation has been reversed on CBS’ recent “Grammy Salute” specials: They were traditionally all-star salutes where the legendary artist being feted makes a cameo appearance at the end (assuming they’re alive). But with a recent Earth, Wind & Fire tribute under that banner and, now, a Cyndi Lauper special, we get full-on concerts from those artists, with a selection of guest duet partners. That’s all the better, for anyone who missed Cyndi Lauper’s recent farewell tour — or anyone who didn’t — as she brings more than enough wattage to power two hours on her own in Sunday night’s “A Grammy Salute to Cyndi Lauper: Live from the Hollywood Bowl.” Although, when Joni Mitchell, SZA and Cher turn up, they’re nothing to sneeze at.

“She’s So Unusual,” her first solo album promised us in 1983. This special — exec-produced by Grammys veteran Ken Ehrlich, Recording Academy head Harvey Mason Jr. and Lauper — is so unusual, too. The risk taken is in how close it comes to being a straight transcription of the show she toured around the country this year, give or take a few superstars and niche guests. There are exactly two talking heads who show up during the duration of the time slot: brief video testimonials from Brandi Carlile and Billie Eilish that barely take up the space of a minute between them. The rest of it is unexpurgated Cyndi, on stage, and not in conversation — that decision possibly influenced by the fact that fans already got a big amount of that in her 2023 Paramount+ documentary “Let the Canary Sing.” This time around with Lauper, the show must go on, and, really, only the show, filmed over two nights at the end of August as her goodbye tour wrapped up at the Hollywood Bowl.

As far as the “features” go, she is generally very well-matched, diva-wise and otherwise. Country powerhouse (and recent Variety cover subject) Mickey Guyton proves an ideal harmonic blend for Lauper early on, on what may be one of the less familiar numbers of the night, “Who Let in the Rain.” In a memorably long and glittery black coat, John Legend steps out with her onto the ridge that separates the Bowl’s pool seating area from its other boxes for an up-close-and-personal “Time After Time”; he lends a smoother counterpart to her always slightly rawer-feeling tone. Angélique Kidjo and Trombone Shorty add slightly more regionally exotic touches to the already left-of-pop-center New Orleans bop, “Iko Iko.”

Mr. Shorty returns to sit in with Lauper and Mitchell on the latter legend’s beloved “Carey.” (That’s the one number in which the guest is doing her own number, rather than joining the headliner for one of hers, but in the case of Mitchell, the mountain must come to Mohammed. And Lauper is hardly skipping the chance to use her tribute special to pay tribute herself, to the wolf’s-head-cane-tapping comeback queen.) The presence of SZA adds plenty of extra sparkle on the show’s penultimate duet, “True Colors.” SZA clearly plays well with others, judging from her Kendrick Lamar collab being one of the year’s biggest hits, and she fares just as well belting something a bit closer to the middle of the show-biz road. And there could be no better casting for “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” than Cher, who even got a designer polka-dot pantsuit to match Lauper’s, and makes the star’s signature song sound like it belongs in her catalog, too.

The only collaboration that doesn’t really pay off in these two hours is the one with Jake Wesley Rogers, which gives one of Lauper’s greatest songs, “Money Changes Everything,” an extended coda that is just very… shouty. On the other hand, even if it’s not a musical highlight, you may appreciate that the duet with Rogers ends in a simulated wrestling match, presumably in tribute to Lauper’s early-career friendship with the late Captain Lou Albano (who gets a shout-out much earlier in the broadcast). Wrasslin’ didn’t change everything for Lauper, but it was one of those early signposts that this was an artist who was going to do it her own way, whether that means associations with meaty and beefy types or her longstanding LGBTQ+ allyship.

Did we say a few paragraphs back that this special was not about conversation? Let’s put a substantial asterisk on that, come to think of it, because we only meant it had a (welcome, to us) lack of interview footage. But you will hear her talk. Lauper devoted a lot of her concerts each night this year to storytelling, making it fairly close to her version of a one-woman show, even if she had a full band kicking back behind her while she regaled her audiences with tales of her upbringing, career achievements and setbacks and thoughts about feminism. This “Grammy Salute” offers a surprising amount of those lengthy song introductions, seemingly rendered intact (because the way she tells them, there’d be few easy ways to cut ’em up). All that chat might test the patience of some, but these fairer-weather friends can go do the dishes and come back at 10:50 to hear “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” while fans who appreciate the full measure of her kooky/contemplative personas can settle in for the luxury ride.

Among her solo numbers for the night, however serious her themes will become, nothing comes ahead of the 42 years of pleasure, and self-pleasure, that “She Bop” has provided. (When the cameras cut away to a couple of young girls amid the audience reaction shots, you do wonder what the PMRC would make of youngsters being exposed to this smut, if only they’d survived.) On the other hand, “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough” is by no means a requisite part of her set, though it’s fun enough to get it anyway, for pure nostalgia and not much else. (Original “Goonies” cast members Corey Feldman and Martha Plimpton get the reaction shots here.) “Who Let In the Rain” is the occasion for Lauper’s first extended introduction of the night, as she explains she wrote it in 1989, at a time when her career was experiencing a sudden dip and she was getting unwanted advice from men in gold chains: “I found myself, instead of the people that made me famous, sitting with people that I ran away from home to get away from.” Surveying her first post-stardom professional failures, she says, “I forgot that you can’t let one chapter eclipse your whole life.”

As always, Lauper sounds like one tough Queens cookie, even if she might be accused of being a snowflake, by non-fans who happen upon the special and hear her espousing what we can still consider liberal ideals. Says Carlile, in her video clip: “Thank you for everything that you’ve done for all people, particularly women, and that thank you will never be enough thanks to cover what you’ve done for the queers.” Lauper doesn’t expound on that a lot herself, beyond noting that her costume designer encouraged her to add more glamour for the sake of the gays. But at the end of “True Colors,” when she and SZA let a giant pride flag be blown up over them by unseen fans… well, it may not be enough to scuttle incoming network regulatory approvals, but there is still little doubt that it will not be a welcome sight in all of America right now, and that she’s being especially true in waving it.

Other undertones go unspoken but will be obvious to fans, like “Sally’s Pigeons,” with an introduction Lauper makes mostly about her neighbors … but which her followers will know is about a childhood friend who died from a back-alley abortion. (The “21 years” in the originally recorded lyric has now been changed to “52 years,” to establish that the song still takes place the year before Roe v. Wade was implemented.) None of this is put in the casual viewer’s face, but feminists and the gay community can take, well, pride in how Lauper continues to be a poster girl for their revolutions even as she holds court as your basic eager-to-entertain veteran pop star.

One of the most telling stories Lauper offers is about the tradition of seamstresses ran strong in her Italian immigrant family, and how she thought, “If they could do that with cloth ” — sewing together disparate elements, that is — “maybe I could do that with music… I was into deconstruction before it was way happening.” But as much as she did it with a marriage of music styles, she actually did do it with cloth, too, even if she wasn’t the one manning the sewing machines. The music may have ended up pretty danged mainstream, but there’s still an interestingly avant-something quality to her changing costuming during the night. (She credits Christian Siriano and Geoffrey Mack for the tour couture.) At one point, she is just a rooster, and at another, she has what looks like part of a black bodice sewn onto the front of a white dress shirt, and at still another, she is starkly wigless. Fashion may be among the least of the things most people watching “A Grammy Salute to Cyndi Lauper” will care deeply about, but in this case, it does make the woman… or at least render the woman’s lifelong career curiosities symbolically large.

Long live Tina Turner. The powerhouse vocalist—whose voice electrified classics like “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” “Private Dancer,” “Simply The Best,” “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” and the definitive rendition of “Proud Mary”—passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 83. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner,” her official social media channels shared at the time. “With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”

According to Deadline, Tina died after a long illness at her home in Küsnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland. Her passing came just six months after the heartbreaking loss of her youngest son, Ronnie Turner, who died in December 2022 from complications related to colon cancer. Tina mourned his death publicly, writing that her “baby left the world far too early.”

Tragically, the Turner family faced another loss in October 2025 when Tina’s adopted son, Ike Turner Jr., died at 67 following kidney failure.

Tina’s influence as the Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll will forever be felt. Over a career spanning more than six decades, she rose from performing alongside her ex-husband Ike Turner in the late 1950s to redefining pop and rock music as a solo artist in the 1980s. Beyond her extraordinary career, Tina’s personal life also drew headlines—from her early motherhood and abusive marriage to Ike, to her later happiness with German music executive Erwin Bach, whom she married in 2013 after nearly 30 years together. While she and Erwin never had children of their own, Tina’s heart—and her home—were always full. Learn more about her children and family below.

Craig Raymond Turner

Tina had her first son, Craig Raymond, in 1958 when she was only eighteen. Craig’s father was Raymond Hill, who played saxophone in Ike’s band, Kings of Rhythm. Craig mostly avoided the spotlight during his life, and he worked as a real estate professional. Sadly, Craig died by suicide in July 2018 in his Studio City, California, home at age 59.

Tina opened up about her son’s death in a June 2019 interview with CBS This Morning. She expressed that she felt like her son was at peace. “I think Craig was lonely, that’s what I think really got him more than anything else,” she said at the time.” I have pictures all around of him smiling, and I think I’m sensing that he’s in a good place. I really do.” The singer held a ceremony to scatter her late son’s ashes on Jul. 19, 2018, as she revealed in a tweet. “My saddest moment as a mother,” she wrote. “I said my final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner when I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California. He was fifty-nine when he died so tragically, but he will always be my baby.”

Ronnie Renelle Turner

Tina gave birth to her younger son Ronald “Ronnie” Renelle, in October 1960. Ronnie was musical like his mom and dad. He acted alongside his mama in the 1993 movie What’s Love Got To Do With It as a member of The Revue, according to IMDb. Ronnie also performed with his parents. Ronnie’s half-brother Ike, Jr. revealed that he was married to the singer Afida Turner in an interview with DailyMail in 2018. His half-brother said he spoke to Ronnie “periodically.”

Ronnie was reported to have died on Dec. 8, 2022. His wife shared a statement mourning his passing on her Instagram. “My God, Ronnie Turner, a true angel, huge soul, highly spiritual, my husband, my best friend, my baby,” she wrote.

Ike Turner had six children, but Tina only adopted two of his sons. The two sons she adopted were from his long-term relationship with Lorraine Taylor. His oldest son, Ike Turner, Jr. was born in 1958. Ike Jr. followed in his dad’s and adopted mom’s footsteps and began a career in the music industry. He won a Grammy in 2006 for producing his father’s album Risin’ With The Blues in the Traditional Blues Album category. Ike, Jr. also reunited with one of his father’s old bandmates Randi Love in 2017 and toured with her, according to the Oklahoma Eagle. Randi was a member of the Ike Turner Revue as an “Ikette.” Randi released a single with Ike, Jr. in 2018 called “Freaky” under the name Sweet Randi Love & Love Thang Band.

Ike claimed that he’d been estranged from his mother for nearly two decades in a 2018 interview with DailyMail. “Tina raised me from the age of two. She’s the only mother I’ve ever known,” he said. “I haven’t talked to my mother since God knows when – probably around 2000. I don’t think any of my brothers have talked to her in a long time either.”

In May 2023, just weeks before Tina’s death, Ike Jr. was arrested on charges of cocaine possession. He remained in jail at the time of her passing.

On October 5, 2025, Tina Turner’s son Ike Turner Jr. passed away at the age of 67, according to family sources. He died in a Los Angeles hospital from kidney failure, after suffering from severe heart problems and having had a stroke the previous month. His niece, Jacqueline Bullock, confirmed the news and shared that he had been battling declining health for some time.

Michael Turner

Ike’s younger son from his relationship with Lorraine was Michael, born in 1959. Of Tina’s four children, the least is known about Michael. While Michael has kept out of the spotlight, it was revealed that he, as well as his brothers Ike and Ronnie, were “devastated” that they were mostly left out of the 2021 HBOMax documentary Tina, according to a source who spoke to Fox News.
