Nuweb Group to expand North American operations with key hires in the US

The American flag is unfurled during the All-Star Game national anthem at Petco Park.

Nuweb Group is growing its North American presence, adding new roles to support rising demand and an expanding client base across the region.

The UK-founded ticketing infrastructure company has evolved over the past five years into a recognised global partner to the live events industry.

In 2024, the company enabled ticket sales in more than 120 countries, with international markets now accounting for the lion’s share of its revenue.

Nuweb Group is planning further expansion in North America, with its technology already powering ticketing operations at major college sports stadiums and supporting high-profile partnerships across the continent.

The company’s footprint in the region continues to grow following a recent partnership with a Canadian based entertainment group that manages sixteen venues and produces more than 1,000 live events annually.

To support its growing demand, the company has announced a series of strategic hires, recruiting for several new positions including Business Development Representative, Account Executive, QA Developer and Software engineer.

These roles will support the company’s growing client base and strengthen its technical and commercial operations across North America. Each new hire will form part of the bedrock and become a pillar of the company’s expansion ambitions.

Ethan Dean, Marketing Manager at Nuweb Group, recently relocated from the company’s Manchester UK base to Toronto to establish the first foundation stone.

“We’ve operated globally for years, but that’s not always immediately visible,” Dean said. “We want to strengthen our presence on the ground in a way that reflects the scale and reach of our operations.”

Nuweb’s expansion signals the arrival of a new class of infrastructure companies – those that operate quietly beneath the surface but power the biggest stages on earth.

The company credits its rapid growth to a culture focused on speed, curiosity and collaboration. “We execute at blinding speed,” said Jose San Miguel, Managing Director at Nuweb Group. “We’re finding people are tired of working at organisations that move at a snail’s pace, and they absolutely thrive here.”

He added that the company’s remote-first model has been instrumental in attracting talent. “It’s allowed us to attract and work with top talent from anywhere – and let’s face it, nobody likes long commutes.”

Paramount Skydance Hires Jay Askinasi as Chief Revenue Officer

by jummy84 October 9, 2025

Paramount Skydance has recruited Jay Askinasi, most recently Roku’s top advertising exec, as chief revenue officer.

Askinasi will start at Paramount Nov. 3, dual-reporting to CEO David Ellison and president Jeff Shell. According to the company, the CRO position is a newly created role “designed to lead the company’s monetization strategy and strengthen its long-term positioning as a next-generation media company” and to push toward a unified advertising platform. John Halley remains in his role as president of Paramount Advertising, reporting to Askinasi.

Paramount’s portfolio of brands includes CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, BET, Paramount Networks, and streaming services Paramount+ and Pluto TV.

Askinasi is latest senior hire to join Ellison’s executive team since the Paramount-Skydance deal closed in early August. Others include Makan Delrahim, who advised Skydance on its acquisition of Paramount Global, as chief legal officer and former Meta exec Dane Glasgow as chief product officer.

Askinasi worked at Roku for less than two years, where he was senior VP, head of global media revenue and growth. At the streaming-platform company, he led ad sales, including the entire go-to-market organization, enterprise partnerships and platform monetization. Prior to joining Roku in April 2024, he was CEO of Publicis Media Exchange U.S., overseeing media investment strategy for the holding company and its brands, including monetization of its Epsilon assets. Before that Askinasi led agency and platform partnerships for AT&T and was president of RUN, a vendor of mobile-focused programmatic ad tech.

Shell, in a prepared statement, said Askinasi “brings a unique and highly relevant mix of experience across ad tech, platforms, data, agencies, and startups — all grounded in a deep understanding of the media and converged video landscape. Jay is widely respected for transforming underutilized assets and driving modern, digital-first commercial strategies. His leadership will be key as we accelerate growth and innovation across our business.”

Askinasi commented, “This is a pivotal moment of transformation for the industry, and Paramount is clearly positioning itself at the forefront of that change. I’m excited to help shape a next-generation digital monetization engine – one that can stand alongside the biggest tech platforms – while preserving the creative excellence and cultural influence that define Paramount’s iconic content.”

Wavelength has hired producer Stacey Reiss as its new head of film, scripted and unscripted.

The company’s credits include Daniel Minahan’s narrative feature “On Swift Horses,” which starred Daisy Edgar-Jones and Jacob Elordi, Alex Braverman’s Venice award-winning documentary “Thank You Very Much” about Andy Kaufman, and the newly opened “Burlesque the Musical” featuring music by Christina Aguilera and Sia.

In her new role, Reiss will work closely with Jenifer Westphal, the company’s CEO and founder, and Joe Plummer, its president, to expand Wavelength’s slate of films, episodic series and shorts, while overseeing the company’s development and production teams.

An Emmy-winning filmmaker, Reiss has worked in both scripted and documentary storytelling. Most recently, she served as executive producer on the entertainment team at RadicalMedia, the company behind “Summer of Soul” and “Fog of War.” Her recent credits include Netflix’s “The Seat,” which followed Mercedes’ rookie Formula 1 driver; “Hollywood Black,” directed by Justin Simien, which won an Independent Spirit Award and received two Emmy nominations; and an upcoming documentary on musician Noah Kahan.

Reiss’ body of work includes  “Spaceship Earth,” which premiered at Sundance and was acquired by Neon, Netflix’s Emmy-nominated “The Andy Warhol Diaries,” Netflix’s “The Perfection” starring Allison Williams and Logan Browning and HBO’s “Tokyo Project” starring Elisabeth Moss and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. She also produced”The Eagle Huntress,” as well as the films “Santa Camp,” “It’s a Hard Truth,” “Ain’t It, Suited,” “The Diplomat,” “It’s Me, Hilary” and “I Knew It Was You.”

Reiss’ films have screened at Sundance, Telluride, Toronto, Tribeca, SXSW, IDFA and more. She previously spent over a decade as an Emmy-winning producer at “Dateline NBC” and holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Reiss is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Producers Guild and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She also serves as chair of Reboot, a Jewish arts and culture nonprofit, and sits on the advisory board of Reboot Studios.

“Stacey is an exceptional producer,” said Westphal and Plummer. “Her creative vision and leadership come at a pivotal moment as Wavelength expands its mission as a fully independent studio. She will be instrumental as we scale up our productions and take bold creative risks.”

“I’ve admired what Jenifer and Joe have built over the last decade,” Reiss said. “We share a commitment to telling extraordinary stories and championing new voices. I’m excited to join a team that’s fearless about creative risk and dedicated to building a truly independent studio.”

Wavelength’s portfolio includes Sam Green’s “32 Sounds,” Frank Marshall’s “Rather” and Nanfu Wang and Jialing Zhang’s “One Child Nation.” Narrative credits include Ekwa Msangi’s “Farewell Amor.” Broadway productions include the Tony-winning “The Outsiders” and Tony nominees “The Who’s Tommy” and “Here Lies Love.”
