Shraddha Kapoor becomes the voice of Judy Hopps in Zootopia 2’s Hindi version

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Shraddha Kapoor is entering a fresh chapter of her artistic journey. Loved for her bright smile and effortless charm on screen, she is now stepping into the Disney universe. Shraddha will voice Judy Hopps in the Hindi version of Zootopia 2, the spirited bunny police officer who became a worldwide favourite. This time, her voice becomes the main storyteller, allowing fans to experience her talent in a new way.

Disney India shared the announcement with a cute poster showing Shraddha and Judy together. Along with the visual, the official page wrote, “Bohot jyada excited to join the #Zootopia2 family, as the voice of THE AMAZING Judy Hopps in Hindi — she is feisty, courageous, enthu cutlet aur cute toh hai hi bachpan se! Kal aa raha hai aapke liye ek anokha surprise. Stay tuned! #Zootopia2 – In cinemas November 28.” The moment the post went live, fans celebrated the news, thrilled to see Shraddha enter this animated world.

What makes this casting so perfect is Shraddha’s expressive and lively voice. She has a natural softness paired with energy, which matches Judy’s fearless and hopeful personality. Instead of her expressions or performance taking the lead, this time her voice carries the emotion. It is refreshing to see her explore a space where every feeling must be conveyed through voice alone.

With Shraddha now part of the Zootopia universe, the anticipation for the film has only grown. Judy Hopps represents determination and endless optimism, and Shraddha’s playful tone will make the character even more lovable in Hindi. As the film arrives in theatres on November 28, fans already know she will make Judy sound full of heart and enthusiasm.

TVR measures the percentage of a target audience watching a program at a given time, indicating its popularity and advertising value.

Bigg Boss remains one of India’s most-watched television shows, topping TVR charts across major regional languages. The show is hosted by multiple superstars in multiple languages, that air on different channels.

Vijay Sethupathi, Salman Khan and Nagarjuna host different versions of Bigg Boss.

What are ratings for different versions?

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 leads with a 12.1 rating. It is hosted by superstar Mohanlal.

What is TVR?

A TVR stands for Television Rating or Television Viewership Rating. It measures the percentage of a target audience that watched a particular program or channel at a given time.

In simple terms, it shows how many people (out of the total potential viewers) were tuned in to a specific show.

For example, a TVR of 5 means 5% of the total TV-owning audience watched that program.

TVR is one of the key metrics used in the TV industry to gauge a show’s popularity and advertising value. It’s now often replaced or supplemented by TVT (Television Viewership in Thousands) or AMA (Average Minute Audience) in India’s updated rating systems from BARC.

On Weekend Ka Vaar this Saturday, Salman will pull up contestants who exhibited bad behaviour on the show. These include Amaal Malik, Shehbaaz Badeshah and Malti Chahar.

5 Disappointing Sequels in Hindi Cinema

5 Disappointing Sequels Of Hindi Movies

by jummy84 August 25, 2025
written by jummy84

5 Disappointing Sequels in Hindi Cinema (Photo Credit – IMDb)

Sequels, whether true (with the story continuing) or ‘in spirit’ (as in same protagonists, core ideas or themes) haven’t always matched the originals in Hindi films. A welcome exception is when the second film betters the previous one, as happens in rare cases like Tanu Weds Manu or Drishyam. Most filmmakers go wrong by making the next film merely bigger but not better. That was exactly the case with Tum Bin, Rock On!!, Dedh Ishqiya or Welcome Back.

However, there is a perceptible difference between a disappointing sequel and a poor one. Here’s looking at five more prominent calamities, especially after truly memorable ‘prequels’.

5. Bhoot Returns (2012)

  • Streaming On: Prime Video
  • IMDb Rating: 2.7/10
  • Director: Ram Gopal Varma

Bhoot (2003) was probably Hindi cinema’s first genuinely spooky and substantial horror film, featuring Rekha, Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Fardeen Khan and Urmila. But after its Silver Jubilee success and accolades, Ram Gopal Varma decided to rehash old, substandard horror films into a mishmash called Bhoot Returns in 2012. But this time, the tepid cast (Manisha Koirala with J.D. Chakarvarthi) and moth-eaten plot ensured that there were no ‘returns’ from the audience at what was now ‘written’!

4. Hungama 2 (2021)

  • Streaming On: JioHotstar
  • IMDb Rating: 3.2/10
  • Director: Priyadarshan

Like many comedies of Priyadarshan, the 2003 Hungama has immense repeat value, thanks to its crazy comedy and consummate performances. Priyadarshan decided, however, to remake his Malayalam Minnaram (1994) and cash in on the franchise’s title without the level of humour of the older film. Hungama 2 was outdated, monumentally mediocre and had the cornerstone of the older film, Paresh Rawal, almost in a secondary role.

3. Bunty Aur Babli 2

  • Streaming On: Prime Video, Apple TV+
  • IMDb Rating: 4.1/10
  • Director: Varun V. Sharma

For many, the older Bunty Aur Babli was mainly about the iconic song, Kajraare. But this charming ‘con-coction’ was much more than a package of breezy musical entertainment. Around the end of the lockdown, Yash Raj Films decided to go the sequel way and make a haphazard con drama in which original composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy were also incredibly off-form. The box office collections proved to be a con on the makers—Bunty Aur Babli 2 collected merely half its cost!

2. Return of Jewel Thief

  • Streaming On: YouTube
  • IMDb Rating: 4.4/10
  • Director: Ashok Tyagi

Vijay Anand’s milestone thriller classic, Jewel Thief (1967) is ageless for its core story, treatment, performances and music. And the mystery of why a new film was planned 29 years later with Ashok Kumar and Dev Anand again coming together remains unsolved, unlike the suspense in the original’s intriguing plot! Directed by Ashok Tyagi, the film also featured Jackie Shroff, Madhoo, Anu Agarwal and Shilpa Shirodkar and was a disaster. True, Jatin-Lalit gave us some good songs, but that was no consolation!

1. Bheja Fry 2 (2011)

  • Streaming On: Prime Video, YouTube
  • IMDb Rating: 4.8/10
  • Director: Sagar Ballary

Director Sagar Ballary’s Bheja Fry, the classy 2007 satirical comedy, was, according to those who watched both, almost a frame-to-frame remake of the French movie Le Dîner de Cons (1998). By ROI (Return on Investment) standards, it was a super-hit, raking in over six times its budget. But Ballary’s Bheja Fry 2, though continuing the story ambitiously by shooting overseas, was not only a B.O. disaster, but also unfunny.
