Gouri Kishan’s Stand Against Body Shaming Highlights Deep-Seated Appearance Bias In Indian Show Business

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

When actress Gouri Kishan was asked at a press conference for her film Others how much she weighed, the question was so jarring that she immediately challenged the journalist: “How does my weight concern you in any way?” Her demand for relevance, dignity and parity — “Would you ask a male actor the same, in the same tone?” — struck a chord across social-media feeds and film-industry corridors.

But beneath this singular moment is a much larger story: the entertainment world’s long-standing reliance on appearance, especially for female actors, and how that reality has seeped into public perceptions and media practices. Gouri’s experience did more than make headlines; it reminded us how deeply appearance stereotyping continues to influence Indian film and television.

At the promotional event, a YouTuber turned press-room questioner pointedly asked about Gouri’s weight — an incident later condemned by industry bodies such as the South Indian Artists’ Association and the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists. Gouri issued a public statement urging the media to treat artists with respect, emphasising: “Comments or questions – direct or indirect – that target a person’s body or appearance are inappropriate in any context. I wish I had been asked questions about the film – the work I was there for.”

Her courage in rejecting the question underscored the routine nature of appearance-based comments in press rooms — and how conditioned many actors have become to slipping past them silently.

Beauty, Body and Bollywood’s Historical Scripts

Appearance stereotyping in Indian entertainment is hardly new. Scholars note that from the 1940s onwards, mainstream Hindi cinema preferred fair-skinned women, slim bodies, and “idealised” feminine beauty aligned with upper-class aesthetics. A working paper revealed that Bollywood not only mirrored but also reinforced social biases regarding skin colour and gender roles.

For decades, the ‘hero-lead’ female actor was expected to be tall, light-skinned, slender and styled in a way that underscored glamour. Even as narratives changed, those appearance markers remained. A 2019 paper on beauty standards in Indian media concluded: “Mainstream Hindi movies & television channels reinforce the ideal woman as one with fair skin, light eyes, longer hair and a slim body.”

And the result? A dual effect: inside the industry, talent began to count second to “look”; in the audience, appearance turned into a metric of worth. When actresses deviate from the ideal — whether by weight gain, darker skin, unconventional height or even visible signs of ageing — they can face harsher scrutiny, fewer roles and body-linked commentary disguised as curiosity.

Gouri Kishan’s Case: A Reflection of Who Pays the Price

When Gouri Kishan asked whether a male actor would face the same invasive question about his weight, she exposed the gendered nature of appearance policing. Men in Indian cinema certainly face looks-based commentary, but rarely with the same volume, intensity or professional cost that women suffer.

The virality of her response reflects a shift: the public is no longer willing to quietly absorb these scripts. Social-media users and fellow actors rallied to praise Gouri Kishan’s stand, reminding us that the industry — and the media ecosystem around it — still requires accountability for questions that treat bodies as tabloid fodder.

The ripple effect of these entertainment-industry norms goes further than movie-stars. When the screen valorises one body type, one skin tone, one notion of glamour, it influences self-image among viewers. Teens who idolise actresses might begin to equate success with slimness or fairness. Audiences might presume that talent is secondary to “look” in casting decisions.

The barrage of questions directed at actors at press-meets often codifies: you must be beautiful, you must stay slim — your craft alone won’t shield you from appearance judgments. Gouri Kishan’s intervention invites us to ask tougher public questions: Why are appearance-based questions still taken for granted in supposedly professional media settings? How often does an actor’s body overshadow her work?

The entertainment industry is slowly shifting. Actors such as Chitrangda Singh have spoken out about fuller figures and dusky skin being embraced. But Gouri’s moment calls us to the next step: practice, not just advocacy. Media outlets must scrutinise the questions they allow; production houses must resist look-based casting norms; press-meets should be professional spaces focussed on work, not optics.

Actors, meanwhile, continue to face a choice: accommodate appearance demands or challenge them. Gouri chose the latter — not as an act of defiance alone but as a push for systemic change: that bodies are not there for public commentary, and that talent, dedication and craft deserve the prime spotlight.

Yes, the question was about a celebrity’s weight — and yes, it hit digital headlines. But the bigger story is the legacy behind that question: decades of stereotyping that say women must look a certain way to be valuable. Gouri Kishan’s sharp reply echoes a growing resistance.

Her words may seem aimed at one journalist in one room, but they echo across the broader media—on-set, in casting offices, on social media feeds. The question isn’t merely about Gouri’s weight—it’s whether the industry and the media will stop treating a body as headline and start treating a person as professional.

Trump '60 Minutes' Interview Highlights: Biggest Talking Points With Norah O'Donnell

Trump ’60 Minutes’ Interview Highlights With Norah O’Donnell – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 November 3, 2025

Nearly four months after settling his lawsuit against CBS for $16 million, Donald Trump sat down with Norah O’Donnell on 60 Minutes. The interview took place on Friday, October 31, from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida and aired on Sunday, November 2. Read on to see some of the highlights from Trump’s 60 Minutes interview with O’Donnell and watch the video of it below.

Trump Said the U.S. Could ‘Blow Up the World’ 150 Times With Nuclear Weapons

While pointing out that the U.S. has “more nuclear weapons than any other country,” in the world, the president said that China will soon follow suit and “be even in five years.”

“You know, they’re makin’ ’em [weapons] rapidly,” Trump said. “And I think we should do something about denuclearization, which is gonna be some — and I did actually discuss that with both President [Vladimir] Putin and President Xi [Jinping]. Denuclearization’s a very big thing. We have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the world 150 times. Russia has a lot of nuclear weapons, and China will have a lot.”

Trump also said he wants the U.S. to perform more nuclear testing “because you have to see how they work.”

“If you notice, North Korea’s testing constantly. Other countries are testing,” Trump said. “We’re the only country that doesn’t test, and I don’t wanna be the only country that doesn’t test.”

Trump Said ICE Hasn’t ‘Gone Far Enough’ With Their Raids

After O’Donnell pointed out the harsh videos of ICE raids and arrests seen around the country, she asked Trump if he thinks some of the raids may have gone “too far.”

“No, I think they haven’t gone far enough because we’ve been held back by the judges, by the liberal judges that were put in by [Joe] Biden and by [Barack] Obama,” Trump claimed, adding, “Because you have to get the people out. You know, you have to look at the people. Many of them are murderers. Many of them are people that were thrown outta their countries because they were, you know, criminals. Many of them are people from jails and prisons. Many of them are people from frankly mental institutions. I feel badly about that, but they’re released from insane asylums. You know why? Because they’re killers.”

Trump Would Rather Andrew Cuomo Be NYC Mayor Than Zohran Mamdani

When O’Donnell asked what Trump thought about New York City’s mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, the Republican said, “I think he’s probably gonna make de [former Mayor Bill de Blasio] look great. I think he will make de Blasio look like one of our great mayors. De Blasio was the worst mayor we’ve ever had. Now I saw that, you know, but I was sort of leaving during that period of time. I got to see de Blasio, how bad a mayor he was, and this man will do a worse job than de Blasio by far. And it’s gonna be hard for me as the president to give a lot of money to New York. Because if you have a Communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there.”

Trump added, “I’m not a fan of [Andrew] Cuomo one way or the other, but if it’s gonna be between a bad Democrat and a Communist, I’m gonna pick the bad Democrat all the time, to be honest with you.”

Trump Doesn’t ‘Even Think About’ the 2028 Election

“Well, I don’t even think about it,” Trump said when O’Donnell asked him about the rumors of him running for a third term in 2028. “I will tell you, a lotta people want me to run. But the difference between us and the Democrats is we really do have a strong bench. I don’t wanna use names, because it’s, you know, inappropriate. But it’s too early.”

Trump Said He’s ‘Not a Nazi’ & Blames the Press for Rhetoric

“Usually, when people talk, they’re not the problem. It’s the ones that don’t talk, in terms of that,” Trump said. “But, yeah, I think it’s — it’s a lot of the rhetoric. Look, they call me a Nazi all the time. I’m not a Nazi. I’m the opposite. I’m somebody that’s saving our country. But they call me Nazi.”

The president continued by noting that the press is “largely responsible” for the negative headlines about him.

“They have talking points, you know? They have just talking points. And the press is largely responsible for it,” Trump claimed. “The fake news, what they’ve done — I think one of the greatest terms I’ve ever come up with is ‘fake news.’ What they’ve done to our country is very bad. They have to change around. Now, nobody believes the fake news.”

written by jummy84

Kajol just gave her fans a major dose of nostalgia by sharing a highlight from the recently concluded 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 with Gujarat Tourism on her social media. The reel gives us a glimpse into the star-studded event, which took place on Saturday at the massive Eka Arena in Ahmedabad. For fans of 90s cinema, it was nothing short of a dream come true, with Kajol’s on-stage performance. Her post acts as a perfect rewind button to a historic night that celebrated true legends.

Sharing the post, she wrote, “Had to do a #whathappenedthatnight post.. it felt magical and cool and brought sooooooo many memories back! Think u guys felt all the love and laughter in the air as well . So glad that I wore Manish Malhotra’s saree and that it was almost the same as the one I wore in the song in Kuch Kuch Hota hai. It was just an imperfectly perfect night .. exactly like our movies!”

The biggest moment that got everyone overjoyed was her special on-stage performance alongside her most successful co-star, Shah Rukh Khan. The iconic duo took to the stage and transported the entire audience back to the golden era of the ‘90s . They danced and grooved to a medley of their biggest hits. From the iconic Tujhe Dekha Toh to the romantic Suraj Hua Maddham, every song was met with applause and cheering from the packed arena. Seeing Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan together, doing what they do best, was a heartwarming experience and a masterclass in on-screen chemistry that simply never fades. Their energy was infectious, proving once again why they remain the ultimate jodi of Bollywood.

The celebration did not stop there. Another highlight of the night was the presentation of the prestigious Cine Icon Award. Kajol, Shah Rukh and Karan Johar were honoured with this special recognition. The award was given to them for their immense contribution, for giving countless blockbusters, and for truly ruling the cinema landscape in the 1990s. The trio’s reunion gave the audience a heavy dose of nostalgia, reminding everyone of the simple, grand, and iconic cinema that defined a generation. It was a moment of pure magic, cementing the legacy of these superstars.

Cardiologist explains heart attacks are deadlier in women than men, highlights ‘gender gap’ in heart health

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Heart disease is often perceived as a ‘man’s disease,’ but in reality, it is the leading cause of death among women. Yet, many symptoms in women are overlooked, misinterpreted, or misdiagnosed, partly because standard tests and treatments have historically been based on male patterns. From hormonal changes and stress to lifestyle and genetic factors, a wide range of elements influence women’s heart health – making awareness, early detection, and gender-specific care crucial for prevention and survival.

Heart disease is often considered as a “man’s disease” but it is much more prevalent in women.(Pexel)

Dr. Dmitry Yaranov, a cardiologist and heart transplant surgeon, specialising in advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support, working with Baptist Memorial Health care, is raising awareness about women’s heart health, highlighting that heart disease is the leading cause of death among women – yet it remains largely overlooked and underdiagnosed. In an Instagram video shared on September 21, the cardiologist outlines eight facts about women’s heart health and emphasises that many of these risks go unnoticed due to medical ignorance, often resulting in misdiagnoses and preventable deaths. He also talks about symptoms, risk factors and ways to stay healthy.

Prevalence of heart disease fatalities

According to Dr Yaranov, “Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women – yet many still think it’s a “man’s disease.” It’s time to change that!” He also mentions that it is the biggest health concern in women, which is frequently overlooked.

Heart attack symptoms

Dr Yaranov stresses that women usually do not experience the “classic” heart attack symptoms, which are common in men and regarded as the norm. He explains, “Instead of crushing chest pain, many feel nausea, fatigue, dizziness, or shortness of breath – often leading to misdiagnosis.”

Heart attack fatalities

The cardiologist points out that heart attacks can be deadlier in women, as compared to men. He explains, “Women are more likely to die within the first year of a heart attack than men, partly because symptoms go unrecognized or untreated.”

Detecting heart disease

According to the cardiologist, “Plaque builds up differently in women’s arteries, making heart disease harder to detect.” Standard heart disease tests were designed according to the patterns of men, which can be misleading for diagnosing women.

Also Read | Cardiologist reveals 5 ancient Indian herbs to boost health naturally: ‘…turns out to be the ultimate nutritional bomb’

Emotional health

Dr Yaranov highlights the importance of the role of stress and emotional health linked to heart disease in women. He elaborates, “Conditions like anxiety and depression can increase heart risks, but they’re rarely part of heart health conversations.”

Post-menopause risks

Post-menopausal women are more prone to the risk of heart disease. The heart surgeon highlights, “The natural drop in estrogen removes a layer of protection, increasing the chances of high blood pressure, cholesterol, and heart attacks.”

Treatments

Dr Yaranov points out the appalling disparity of receiving life-saving treatments between men and women. “Whether it’s medication, stents, or even CPR, women receive them less often than men – yet they need them just as much,” the cardiologist adds.

Prevention

The doctor stresses that most heart diseases are preventable. He suggests, “A heart-healthy lifestyle, regular check-ups, and listening to your body can make all the difference.”

beam & MIA ESG Summit highlights industry shift from ambition to action

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

The UK meetings and events sector has underscored its commitment to sustainability at the beam & MIA ESG Summit, where industry experts came together to share practical strategies for embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across the meetings and events sector.

The summit examined how purpose-driven business models, responsible supply chains, and transparent certification frameworks are transforming the industry. Highlights included:

  • Ticket Tailor’s ‘growth on purpose’ strategy, which ties profit-sharing and carbon reduction to business growth.
  • Panel discussions around authenticity, business efficiency, and the importance of ingraining ESG into business practices.
  • The younger generation being encouraged to lead in ESG initiatives, with training and clear communication essential.
  • The introduction of the carbon literacy concept, with a call to action for businesses to work towards it.

A recurring theme was the importance of consistency and credibility. With clients demanding tangible proof points, speakers stressed that schemes such as B Corp and Greengage ECOsmart are becoming essential. At the same time, innovation is helping venues and agencies cut energy bills, reduce waste, and demonstrate measurable impact while maintaining competitive pricing.

Louisa Watson, beam Chair, said: “This summit shows that our industry is moving from words to action. What really stood out for me was the reminder that purpose and profit can go hand in hand. As an industry, we mustn’t be afraid to start small, be authentic, and accept that we are all a work in progress. What matters most is that we take action, however modest, and do it with credibility. ESG is about being brave, creative, and consistent, and when it becomes part of everyday decision-making, it delivers reputation, resilience, and change.”

Shonali Devereaux, MIA chief executive, added: “Every session reinforced that embedding ESG into our business DNA is not only a moral imperative but also presents a powerful commercial advantage. To truly see sustainability as a winning strategy, we must broaden our definition of ROI recognising that it delivers trust, loyalty and long-term business resilience. Small, authentic actions, from advocating with clients to building carbon literacy and accountability within our teams, are steps that will future-proof our organisations and our industry. Most importantly, we must begin asking ourselves: what can we do tomorrow that we aren’t doing today?”

The beam & MIA ESG Summit positions the UK’s meetings and events industry at the forefront of responsible business practice, setting a strong example for global counterparts.

The evening was also full of TV cast reunions from shows such as Gilmore Girls, Everybody Loves Raymond, and more. Here, we break down the highlights of the night, from the funniest bits and biggest surprises to snubs and the best reunions.

2025 Emmy Highlights: Winners and Major Moments

by jummy84 September 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Seth Rogen took the first Emmy of his two-decade career, winning the lead actor in a comedy prize for his role as purist studio chief Matt Remick in his Apple TV+ show The Studio, while Hacks star Jean Smart won lead actress in a comedy, her seventh Emmy of a long and illustrious career, as the 77th Emmy Awards kicked off in Los Angeles.”

“You honor me so much,” said Smart, as the Deborah Vance actress paid homage to her HBO show’s cast and crew. “Let’s be good to each other; let’s just be good to each other.” Smart has won the award all four seasons the mentor-protege comedy has been on the air.

Meawhile, Rogen won his first-ever Emmy after nine nominations. “I so could not wrap my head around this happening .. .I’ve never won anything in my life,” he said. Before this year, Rogen’s last notable win came for “Best Gut-Wrenching Performance” at the MTV Movie Awards a decade ago. Shortly after, veteran actress Katherine LaNasa also won her first-ever Emmy, a supporting actress in a drama prize for her role as a tartly wise head nurse on The Pitt.

An SNL-style cold open kicked off the Emmys with host Nate Bargatze playing a scientist inventing television and explaining to his assistants what the future of television will look like. (“What is streaming sir?” A new way for companies to lose money.”) The sketch also made the requisite joke about The Bear not being a comedy and noted that there will one day be “a world where the finest artists create stories of staggering beauty that millions of people will watch — on their phone while sitting on the toilet.”

Stephen Colbert introduced the first award of the night, for lead actor in a comedy, telling the audience “While I have your attention, is anyone hiring? Because I’ve got 200 very well-qualified candidates available tonight.” The recently canceled Late Show With Stephen Colbert is seeking its first-ever top Emmy for late night show, just eight months before it embarks on its last opening monologue.

Bargatze tried to incentivize shorter speeches by saying he’ll deduct from and add to a $100,000 donation to the Boys and Girls Club of America based on whether acceptance speeches went under or above 45 seconds. There was no penalty, though, for Jennifer Coolidge’s extended riff presenting lead actress in a comedy.

The night took on an early tone of gratitude. “I don’t know what to say. This is so nice. I appreciate you all,” Rogen said, before leaving the stage.

More to come.

‘Love Island USA’ Season 7 Reunion Highlights: Unseen Footage Revealed

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

After Love Island USA‘s drama-filled seventh season, there was plenty to unpack between all the Islanders at the reunion special.

Season seven of Peacock‘s hit reality dating show concluded last month with Amaya and Bryan being named the winning couple. Huda and Chris, Olandria and Nic, and Iris and Pepe were also among the final couples.

On Monday, almost all the Islanders reunited to unpack the summer of chaos and love. The reunion, hosted by Andy Cohen and Love Island USA host and Vanderpump Rules alum Ariana Madix, featured unseen footage from controversial dumpings and challenges, updates on the couples’ current relationship status and more.

Below, The Hollywood Reporter breaks down the highlights from the season seven Love Island USA reunion.

Season 7 Couples’ Current Relationship Status

As of when the reunion was pre-recorded on Aug. 12, some Islanders who coupled up in the villa were still going strong, while some had called it quits since leaving the villa. Winners Amaya and Bryan, runner-ups Olandria and Nic, and Iris and Pepe happily shared they’re still together. While Huda and Chris split during the final episodes of Love Island USA, Chris also made it clear during the reunion that they will never be friends outside the villa either.

When Bryan was asked about his cheating allegations from fans, he quickly shut them down, saying, “They’re trying to just throw any hate my way, and with the cheating video, the hosting I got paid to be there. I used to bartend back in the day. I had a lapse of judgment and we’ve [he and Amaya] talked about it.” As for what his “lapse of judgment” was, he added that he was “pouring shots around, giving the crowd shots and stuff like that.” Amaya said after, “We definitely spoke about it, and I’m also not a woman that would be with someone who doesn’t respect me, so if I’m still with him, it’s clearly because the relationship dynamic is healthy and great.”

As for Huda’s relationship status, as she’s been spotted walking red carpets with a new man, she told the co-hosts, “I can’t speak about my relationships outside the villa.” When Cohen questioned, “And why is that?” Huda responded, “Legal reasons, I’m not allowed to speak. It’s Netflix. I’m not allowed to talk about it.”

Later in the reunion, Clarke and Taylor, as well as Chelley and Ace, confirmed that they’re both still exclusive in their couples. Ace added that he has “something cooking up,” regarding making Chelley officially his girlfriend.

There was also an awkward moment between Jaden and Austin, who left the villa as a couple, as clearly they weren’t on the same page in the real world. Jaden called Austin out for not respecting her post villa, saying, “I was blind sided in a way because I did send you a message saying, ‘If you were planning on dating or hooking up with other people, if you could just let me know, but I didn’t care if you did.’ I was like, ‘You could do whatever you want, just give me the respect of letting me know that.’ And then you didn’t.” However, Austin claimed, “Dating in the villa is dating multiple people, so like dating on the outside, I can still wanna get to know you and go on dates with someone else.” He apologized to Jaden after.

Unseen Footage Revealed of Boys’ and Girls’ Votes to Send Hannah and Jeremiah Home

One of the most shocking moments from season seven was when the safe male Islanders chose to send Jeremiah packing and the female Islanders voted to send Hannah home, ending her journey with Pepe. After unseen footage of the girl’s deliberations from that night was shown during the reunion, an emotional Hannah said that while it still “hurts,” it feels “better to know now.”

“I think that’s what I struggled with a lot, is I just felt like there were so many unanswered questions and I just was wondering what I did wrong or [if] there was something I could have done or said that would have changed things,” Hannah added. “But I’m grateful for my experience, and I just was not going to find love in the villa and that’s OK.”

When Madix asked if any of the women regretted sending Hannah home or if their reasoning still stands, Chelley responded, “Sending someone home is never a good feeling, and even sitting here seeing you emotional now is not a good feeling either. In that moment, I was like, maybe we could do things a little bit differently — there’s other people here who haven’t gotten a chance to find a connection, and a little part of it we were thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, she gets to see Charlie again.’” At the end of the day, we still didn’t even feel good about it.”

Later, the boy’s deliberations over sending Jeremiah home were also shown, and Ace also responded to fan claims that he was the “ringleader” behind getting Jeremiah dumped from the Island.

“It was group settings when we had that,” Ace said. “If you think I’m just gonna have a conversation with myself throughout the whole entire thing, it’s kind of silly to believe that. And I felt like other people gave their inputs on things that just wasn’t highlighted.”

He later admitted he partly regretted sending Jeremiah home and that looking back, “I definitely feel like Austin should have went home.”

However, Madix also shared the fan votes from that night, revealing that Jeremiah and Hannah were also in the bottom, so the result of the dumping would have been the same even if fans had decided.

Where Nic Stands With Cierra

Nic was asked by a fan during the episode if he had spoken to Cierra since leaving the villa, as he was coupled up with her during most of his time in the villa before she exited the show when her racial posts resurfaced online. After she left, that’s when Nic and Olandria decided to get to know each other more.

He clarified that he’s not talked to Cierra and “I don’t plan on it either.” Nic continued, “Leaving the villa, I wanted to speak to her after I processed all those things coming out the first week, and then she started making these videos. … I feel like she was prioritizing some attention through those videos rather than wanting to fix anything, if there was anything to fix.”

Huda’s Friendship Drama With Chelley and Olandria Unpacked

Cohen also asked Huda about her claims that she was bullied in the villa, including by Chelley. Huda clarified that “there were certain things that did hurt my feelings. Maybe bullying could have been a different word, but truly, I’ve really just moved on from it.”

Chelley apologized after, adding that there’s “no ill feeling” between them.

As for where Huda’s friendship stands with Olandria, the latter said it “pained” her when Huda didn’t directly address the hate she was receiving from Huda’s stands outside the villa. “We were super close in the villa,” Olandria said. “Upon exiting the villa, once we got our phones back, I saw the amount of hate that I was getting from her stands and I expressed to her, ‘Hey, I really feel like it’s important, especially if you consider yourself very close to me and to Chelley, at some point to speak out to your fans and kind of address the racism and all the things.’”

Olandria added that all the hate was “fucking with me mentally. It was so bad,” and that it hurt her when Huda “got into the real world and kind of fell into that narrative and fed it.” That’s one of the reasons why Olandria unfollowed Huda on social media and hadn’t spoken to her until the reunion.

As for why Huda didn’t post when Olandria asked her to, she responded, “I was doing so much outside of that. I didn’t know what to say in that moment because I was dealing with so much. I wanted to address more than just that.”

At the end of their conversation, Olandria and Chelley confirmed they don’t have any interest in being friends with Huda going forward, with the latter saying, “I wouldn’t feel like I could trust her as my friend.”

Extended Version of Heart Rate Challenge Aired

Another controversial moment from the season was Huda’s performance during the Heart Rate Challenge. During the show, Huda and Chelley had a falling out after the raunchy challenge, as Chelley felt Huda disregarded their friendship and crossed a line with Ace. While all the Islanders were pushing the boundaries during the challenge — which sees the contestants compete to see whose sexy dance routines can raise the heart rates of their fellow Islanders the most — Chelley expressed that she thought Huda went too far.

Some fans shared on social media that they felt Chelley’s anger toward Huda was unjustified, as all the Islanders were going all out during the challenge. However, viewers pointed out that not all of Huda’s performance was aired during the episode, leading some to speculate that the part that made Chelley mad wasn’t shown.

It was all revealed during the reunion as an extended version of the challenge was shown to viewers. After, Huda admitted she “took it a step too far for certain people, and I do apologize if I made anybody feel uncomfortable. Everything was consensual. There was no limitations, and we all made that very clear at the beginning of the challenge.”

Though Chelley said she felt her response was justified, as “it was never because we didn’t consent to this.” She added, “I think when you do certain challenges, it’s with intention because you’re interested in a person, you like a person. I mean, to my knowledge, you didn’t have any interest for Ace, so to go as far as that, as me being your friend, I think my reasons were very justified.”

Who Was Screaming During Olandria’s Confessional Revealed

Amid Cierra’s exit from the season, some fans heard during one of Olandria’s confessional videos a voice screaming in the background. This led to some viewers speculating it was Cierra yelling after she learned she was being sent home; however, Madix debunked that theory during the reunion.

“Viewers thought that they could hear Cierra screaming in the background while Olandria was in the confessional, but that wasn’t quite it,” Madix said. It was later shown that the people “screaming” were actually Huda and Iris loudly singing “Who Says” by Selena Gomez.
