Meghan Markle is returning to the big screen with a role in the upcoming film Close Personal Friends.

Markle, who starred in Suits for seven seasons, will have a small cameo role in the movie as herself, according to Variety.

Close Personal Friends, a comedy starring Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, Brie Larson and Henry Golding, is currently filming around Los Angeles. Other cast members include Natasia Demetriou, Patti Harrison and Dustin Demri-Burn.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, was photographed on the set of the film in Pasadena, Calif., wearing sunglasses as she got into the backseat of a Range Rover.

The film centres on a couple “that meets and befriends a celebrity couple while on a trip to Santa Barbara. Personal lines get crossed, among other things, and awkward hilarity ensues,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Before marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Markle starred in the legal drama series Suits, playing Rachel Zane from 2011 until 2018. Her other film roles include Get Him to the Greek, Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.

Prince Harry and Markle recently extended the partnership with Netflix and Archewell Productions with a multiyear, first-look deal in August.

“My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonate globally, and celebrates our shared vision,” Markle said in a statement.

Archewell Productions began collaborating with Netflix in 2020, producing a handful of documentary content, including the popular series, Harry & Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex also developed a lifestyle brand, As Ever, in partnership with Netflix.

The collaboration has also produced the documentary series Polo, Heart of Invictus and Live to Lead.

The couple and the streaming service also announced upcoming collaborations, including a second season of With Love, Meghan, a lifestyle and cooking show starring Markle. The show will also receive a special holiday episode in December.

Archewell Productions is also set to work with Netflix on a feature adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel, Meet Me at the Lake, which “follows a decade-spanning love story that begins with a chance encounter and a broken promise.”

Fortune, a popular Canadian writer, previously said the book’s love story is “dear to my heart,” adding that she can’t imagine “a more perfect partnership.”

She also said writing the book was “a tremendous personal challenge,” and to see it recognized in this way is truly incredible.

Enrique Iglesias Opens Up About His 13-Year Hiatus From India: ‘The Energy Is Incredible | Glamsham.com

Enrique Iglesias made a spectacular comeback to India after more than a decade, performing to sold-out crowds during his two-day concert in Mumbai on October 29 and 30. Held at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the concerts were part of the global tour of the “King of Latin Pop,” marking his first India performance since 2012.

Ahead of his shows, the 50-year-old Grammy-winning artist spoke to Zoom about why he decided to return. “It’s the people — their warmth and passion for music have always stayed with me,” Enrique said, reflecting on his earlier visits in 2004 and 2012. He added, “I’ve heard so much about the incredible energy in Mumbai — I couldn’t wait to feel that connection again.”

The concerts were nothing short of magical — a blend of nostalgia, emotion, and energy. Opening acts by Progressive Brothers and Jonita Gandhi set the perfect tone for the night before Enrique took the stage for a 90-minute electrifying set featuring 19 of his greatest hits. Fans sang and danced along to classics like Hero, Bailamos, and Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You), as the singer’s charisma lit up the Mumbai sky.

In his interview, Enrique shared what he believes makes his music connect so deeply with fans: “It’s about emotion — when something comes from the heart, people feel it.” When asked about his “King of Latin Pop” title, he humbly replied, “I just try to keep making music that feels honest and connects with people.”

During his performance, he delivered fan favorites including Me Pasé, El Perdón, Bailando, Tired of Being Sorry, Heartbeat, Sweet Dreams, and Baby I Like It, ending the night on a euphoric note.

The event saw several Bollywood stars — Malaika Arora, Vidya Balan, Rakul Preet Singh, Jackky Bhagnani, Rubina Dilaik, and Disha Parmar, among others — dancing to his timeless tunes, celebrating the unforgettable return of Enrique Iglesias to India.

The Cult announce hiatus from touring to record and “recharge our spiritual batteries”

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

The Cult has announced a hiatus from touring after concluding their current North American tour, which is due to finish on October 30 in Los Angeles.

  • READ MORE: Ian Astbury talks the resurgence of goth, David Bowie’s legacy and The Cult’s “renaissance”

Sharing the news on Instagram, the band said that they’d be taking a long break from touring to focus on other creative endeavours, but promised fans that it does not mark the end.

“Mother Nature has a cycle of change and evolution that is inevitable,” the statement began. “The moon’s phases change, tides rise and fall. Change is necessary for creation and rebirth. It is with this in mind that, following the remaining dates on our current North American The Cult/Death Cult 8525 Tour, we have decided to step away from touring for an undetermined amount of time.

“We have toured extensively over the last few years and we shall now shift our focus to writing, recording new music, and exploring other projects that shall be revealed over time. It is a time for us to turn inward to recharge our spiritual batteries.”

The band confirmed that they will be performing their final remaining shows, which will take them up to October 30.

“When we return to the stage, it shall be with an even stronger fire and energy that we will share with all of you,” the statement said. “Ours is a communal bond, and it will not be broken, simply paused. Until then, we have five remaining shows on this current tour, culminating at The Shrine in Los Angeles on Oct 30. Please join us for what has been an incredible celebration of 40 years of The Cult and Death Cult.”

The band formed as Death Cult in 1983, but then shortened their name to The Cult in 1984. Since their inception, The Cult have released 11 albums, with their most recent one being 2022’s ‘Under The Midnight Sun’.

Last year, the band’s frontman Ian Astbury spoke to NME about the recent resurgence of goth in pop culture – which sees “women picking up the swords and leading the way” – as well as how the band are looking to challenge the perception of being “a heritage act”.

Speaking about the future of The Cult, and his relationship with guitarist Billy Duffy, Astbury said:“What does the future look like? No idea, it’s chaos right now. It’s absolute anarchy. The plan is to have no plan. The plan is to be intuitive and act in response to the moment. Career? What’s a career? Plans? There are no plans. Things are changing too rapidly. I have no plans, I’m just impulsive. Whatever hits me, it’s just how quickly we can turn things around.”

He added: “The Cult is its own animal. It’s a multi-headed hydra. Billy [Duffy, guitarist] has a very strong, tactile, pragmatic, Mancunian side to him, and he holds ground. He grounds me because I’m just like lightning, I’ll be all over the place.”

The news of The Cult’s performing hiatus comes after they were announced as one of the first wave acts billed for the newly-launched Forever Now Festival, set to take place in June 2026 in Milton Keynes. They were billed next to the likes of  Kraftwerk, Johnny Marr, and The The.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Caterina Scorsone Heads on Hiatus With Amelia

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

[This story contains spoilers for the Oct. 16 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, “We Built This City.”]

For Grey’s Anatomy viewers left wondering after Thursday night’s episode if beloved Dr. Amelia Shepherd has truly taken a leave of absence from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, the answer is both bad and good: Yes, veteran star Caterina Scorsone is indeed taking a hiatus from the ABC hit medical series, but she will return.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Amelia is indeed going on a sabbatical, as she announced at the end of the Oct. 16 episode, which was the landmark 450th episode of the show. She won’t be seen again until episodes in 2026.

The storyline comes following the season 22 premiere, where Amelia was rocked by the death of fellow doctor Monica Beltran, played by Natalie Morales, who was the sole casualty in the season opener after last season’s cliffhanger finale when the hospital was hit with an explosion. Amelia and Monica were on the verge of exploring a romantic relationship, and the loss sent her into a depression that played out with her onscreen family this week: sister-in-law Meredith Grey, played by star/executive producer Ellen Pompeo, and Maggie Pierce (exited castmember Kelly McCreary, who returned for Thursday’s episode).

When speaking last week about the season premiere, showrunner Meg Marinis told THR that she picked Monica as the explosion victim partially to explore how the death will impact Amelia.

“While Amelia was so centered in that storyline at the end of last season with Piper [Perabo]’s character and with the child [in the season 21 finale], I wanted for us to believe that everything was kind of OK for Amelia after we saved Link’s [Chris Carmack] life. I also really wanted to deliver consequences of Amelia taking on all these impossible surgeries,” she said of Amelia also almost losing her ex, Link. “As Amelia mentions in the episode, she lost her father at a very young age and that really propelled the way her life went.”

Scorsone has been on Grey’s Anatomy since first appearing in a guest role in season seven in 2010, and became a main cast member in 2014’s season 11. She was also a regular on Grey’s spinoff Private Practice from 2010-13.

Deadline was first to report the news.

Lola Young announces indefinite hiatus following collapse

by jummy84 October 1, 2025
written by jummy84

1 October 2025

Lola Young has cancelled all of her planned appearances “for the foreseeable future” after recently collapsing on stage.

Lola Young has cancelled upcoming gigs

The 24-year-old star collapsed during a performance in New York and she’s now taken to social media to announce an indefinite hiatus from the stage.

Lola wrote on Instagram: “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.

“Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund.

“I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger. Love you all, Lola x. (sic)”

Lola previously cancelled a gig in Washington, D.C. a day after collapsing onstage in New York.

The singer suffered a medical issue while singing Conceited at the All Things Go Music Festival at Forest Hills Stadium, New York City, on Saturday (27.09.25) and was taken backstage by medical staff, but she later reassured fans she was fine.

In a statement posted on Instagram, she wrote: “I’m sorry to confirm that I won’t be playing All Things Go in DC today.

“I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted so I’m sorry to those who will be disappointed by this.

“I hope you’ll all give me another chance in the future. Thank you to all those who listen and care. To all the people that love to be mean online, pls give me a day off. (sic)”

After her collapse in New York, Lola told fans she was “doing OK”, writing in a social media update: “Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing OK now. Thank you for all of your support, Lola xxx. (sic)”

Speaking before the medical incident, Lola told the crowd in New York that she’d had a tough couple of days.

She said: “Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool … and sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”

Foxing to Go on Hiatus After Final 2025 Shows

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

St. Louis emo stalwarts Foxing have announced that they’re going on hiatus. “[It] has become clear to us that in our pursuit of our dreams and making the most honest and genuine art we can, our relationship with music, each other, and our sense of self without the band has eroded,” the band wrote in a statement posted to social media.

Foxing will play two farewell shows—one in Chicago and one in St. Louis—in December. See those dates and find the group’s full message below.

Foxing was formed in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2011, by bassist Josh Coll, drummer Jon Hellwig, and guitarist Matthew Piva. The band went through several lineup changes before the 2013 release of debut album The Albatross. By then, Foxing had settled into a five-piece of Coll, Hellwig, vocalist Conor Murphy, and guitarists Ricky Sampson and Eric Hudson. Foxing spent the next couple of years on the road, landing opening slots for fellow emo favorites like the Hotelier and Modern Baseball.

Coll left Foxing between the release of 2015’s Dealer and 2018’s Nearer My God. Produced by Death Cab for Cutie’s Chris Walla, Nearer My God marked the band’s leap to anthemic, festival-sized indie-rock. In his review of Nearer My God, Ian Cohen wrote that it “provides the incapacitating rush of watching a broken play develop into a Hail Mary, a half-court buzzer beater, a double steal that actually works—the thrill of its success amplified by palpable risk and an alternate, disastrous outcome that was narrowly avoided.”

After Nearer My God, Foxing released Draw Down the Moon, in 2021, and a 2024 self-titled album.

Foxing With Special Guests

Foxing:

After 14 years as a band and 12 years of consistent touring, we’ve decided to take a hiatus from playing shows, writing or doing anything as Foxing.

It feels really scary to say that. This band has been completely inseparable from us as people for our entire adult lives up to this point. It is so much of our identity and our sense of self worth in the world. But it has become clear to us that in our pursuit of our dreams and making the most honest and genuine art we can, our relationship with music, each other, and our sense of self without the band has eroded. We have decided to prioritize these things and need to step away from the band to do so.

These shows in Chicago and St. Louis will be our last for the foreseeable future. Know that if you ever saw us at a show or listened to our records, you were getting the most from us that we could possibly give in that moment. We will come back if/when we feel that we have more to give.

The Neighbourhood Reunites After 2021 Hiatus, Drummer Firing

by jummy84 August 30, 2025
written by jummy84

The Neighbourhood is back. On Friday, the band shared an Instagram Story post announcing that the group — including drummer Brandon Fried — reunited in November 2024 following a three-year hiatus. The members are now ready to share their “next chapter” with fans.

“In November 2021, after 10 years together, The Neighbourhood went on an indefinite hiatus,” the band wrote. “As we entered our early 30s, we were faced with life outside of the band for the first time in our adult lives. Breakups, family struggles, and personal challenges.”

The band — which originally comprised vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Zachary Abels and Jeremiah Freedman, bassist Michael Margott, and Fried — also added that the drummer will be returning to the band after he was kicked out for groping the Marías’ Maria Zardoya in late 2022.

At the time, Zardoya alleged that Fried had groped her under a table and called him a “complete creep.” The Neighbourhood acted swiftly and booted him from the band. Fried admitted to his actions and publicly apologized to Zardoya saying it was a “reflection of who I become while under the influence.” He promised to seek help.

“In November 2022, it became evident that Brandon’s struggles with substance abuse needed immediate attention, and we agreed it was best for him to step away and focus on his recovery,” the band wrote in their statement. “To those who spoke up and helped bring this to light, thank you. Your courage helped us get our friend the support he needed.”

The band added: “We are proud of Brandon, the changes he has made, and the progress he continues to make in his life. Being in each other’s lives for over 20 years, when one of us is going through something, it impacts all of us.”

The Neighbourhood also shared that the group had “reunited in the studio” in November 2024, and teased their official return. “Thank you to everyone who kept the music alive while we were away,” the band wrote. “We couldn’t feel more honored to do what we do and can’t wait to share this next chapter with you.”

The band’s last release before the hiatus was Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones in September 2020. Since then, Rutherford released a pair of albums, 2023’s &ONE and 2024’s Jesse®.
