Adolescence Is Hell, and So Is Summer Camp

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Adolescence, and especially at an all-boys summer water polo camp, is hell in Charlie Polinger’s memorably disturbing first feature, “The Plague.” In the psychodrama-meets-body-horror movie, Ben (discovery Everett Blunck), a socially anxious 12-year-old, becomes part of a ritualistic tradition that targets an outcast among them with an illness they call “the plague.”

But as there are real corporeal implications, it’s starting to look as if this imagined social disease might be real. Is the plague in this acne-scarred nightmare an even more horrifying version of puberty? “The Plague” almost feels like an allegory for it, but it’s never predictable. Below, IndieWire shares the exclusive trailer ahead of the film‘s upcoming debut on December 24.

The Perfect Neighbor

Joel Edgerton also stars in the film as the boys’ coach, who turns out to be extremely out of his depth when faced with the cruelties they inflict upon each other. “The Plague” first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where IndieWire spoke to writer/director Polinger about shooting the film on 35mm during a sweltering summer season. “We were capturing something that felt timeless and, to me, there’s no comparison. It looks so great to shoot on film, and these kids’ faces and closeups just rendered in such a beautiful way,” he said.

That shot-on-film aspect lends to the film feeling like a throwback to classic coming-of-age movies, but with a chilling twist. “I love those movies about boys, though I often feel like a lot of movies about young boys are either a little more sort of bro-y hangout or a little more nostalgic, kind of biking-around-the-suburbs type of thing,” he said. Movies like Bo Burnham’s “Eighth Grade” and Julia Ducournau’s “Raw,” he said, “capture a social dread and vulnerability of your body and something you don’t see as much with boys because it requires a certain vulnerability to be an object of terror in that way… I was even looking at some sort of dread-filled, ‘Shining’ daylight kinds of horror movies, [with] huge imposing spaces.”

From IndieWire’s review out of Cannes: “In his debut feature, filmmaker Charlie Polinger plays with broad riffs on coming-of-age, body horror, and bullying genres before paring these themes back to reveal that two 12-year-old boys — and their contrasting approaches to being different — are really the heartfelt preoccupation of the film.”

Independent Film Company opens “The Plague” in select theaters on Wednesday, December 24 with an expansion to follow on Friday, January 2.

Shah Rukh Khan Confirms He’ll Greet Fans Present Outside Mannat on His Birthday

by jummy84 October 31, 2025
written by jummy84

Shah Rukh Khan, the King Khan of Bollywood, recently held one of his popular, impromptu #AskSRK sessions on the social media platform X, giving fans a chance to interact directly with him. As always, the session was filled with his signature wit, charm, and humorous answers, much to the delight of his massive following. The interaction quickly trended, proving once again that the superstar’s social media presence is just as engaging as his on-screen roles.

One question, however, stood out and quickly became a talking point, as it touched upon a beloved annual tradition. With his birthday on November 2 approaching, a fan directly asked the star about his plans to continue his iconic yearly ritual. The fan asked, “Sir is baar Mannat pe fans ko greet karne aaoge?” This question refers to the much-anticipated moment when SRK steps out onto the balcony of Mannat to wave and acknowledge the sea of fans gathered below.

Of course but may have to wear a hard hat!!! https://t.co/31bOcyxAsn

Every year, thousands of well-wishers and fans travel from across the country, and even the world, to stand outside his home, hoping to catch a glimpse of the superstar on his special day. It is an event that has become synonymous with the actor’s birthday celebrations, with the streets outside Mannat turning into a festive zone every November 2.

Never one to disappoint, especially when it comes to a humorous response, Shah Rukh Khan confirmed he would be continuing the tradition, but not without adding a funny disclaimer. He replied to the fan with a short, witty line that instantly went viral: “Of course but may have to wear a hard hat!!” The hilarious response confirmed that he’ll be in Mumbai to greet his fans after reports of him celebrating his 60th birthday in Alibaug went viral earlier today. The actor’s clever response was to hint at the ongoing construction at Mannat.

For decades, the Mannat greeting has been a symbol of the unique bond Shah Rukh Khan shares with his fans. The sight of SRK standing on his balcony, arms stretched out wide in his famous pose, remains an iconic image of his superstardom.

On the work front, Shah Rukh was last seen in his son Aryan Khan’s series Ba***ds of Bollywood, and will be seen next in the upcoming movie, King, directed by Siddharth Anand and starring his daughter Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone in key roles.

Cardi B Says She’d “Take It to Hell” to Protect Her Kids: “I Got Nasty About Mine”

Cardi B is making it clear — when it comes to her children, she’s not backing down.

In a new interview with PAPER Magazine, the rapper opened up about fiercely defending her family following the release of her latest track, “Am I The Drama?”

“This week I showed the world that I will get the most nasty about mine,” Cardi said. “I never had to get that nasty for my kids. But I did, and I really feel like a lioness.”

The Grammy winner reflected on how the situation tested her as a mother, adding:

“This has been one of the moments I got tested the most about being a parent. But it just goes to show me how strong I am, and it just goes to show me like, Damn, I will really take it to hell for mines — mentally, physically, anything. And I wouldn’t care.”

Cardi shares three children — Kulture, Wave, and Blossom — with estranged husband Offset, and says this moment reminded her just how far she’s willing to go to protect her family.

Stephen A. Smith Drops Hint That Wes Moore Could Be His Running Mate – Though He Doubts He’ll Actually Run

Popular sports commentator Stephen A. Smith speculated that if he ever threw his hat in the presidential ring, he might tap Governor Wes Moore of Maryland as his running mate. But he was clear — a formal run is “highly unlikely.”

Smith had previously said he felt he “had no choice” but to consider a 2028 presidential bid. In his recent comments, he described Moore as someone he “really, really” admires. He called Moore a realistic leader who “cares about people and cares about what’s in our best interest.”

Smith also noted that Moore “deserves to win” — signaling underlying respect without confirming any real political ambition together. As for his own chances, the sports media figure didn’t commit. He left the door open but maintained it was more talk than plan.

EXCLUSIVE: Content Creator Vishnu Kaushal Reveals If He’ll Ever Participate In Reality Shows Like Bigg Boss, Traitors

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Vishnu Kaushal is a well known content creator, actor, and storyteller known for his witty, relatable, and heartwarming social media content that resonates with both his Gen Z and millennial audience. Kuashal – who began his career with short sketches and relatable reels, has now grown into one of the most versatile voices in India’s digital creator ecosystem.

During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Vishnu Kaushal opened up about many things, including why he choose to become a content creator and whether he’ll ever participate in reality shows like Bigg Boss, Traitors and Rise And Fall. Read on to know all his answers.

Vishnu Kaushal On Becoming A Content Creator

When asked why he decided to become a content creator instead of doing a 9-to-5 office job like many millennials, Vishnu Kaushal replied, “Choosing content creation over a traditional 9-to-5 wasn’t a decision I took lightly. It was more about the freedom to express myself and connect with an audience that resonates with my ideas. Early on, I realized the power of reliability — it’s not just about what you create, but how authentically you present it. People today seek genuine connections. Content creation allows me to do that in a way traditional job didn’t.”

Talking about how difficult it for him to find his footing in the content creation space and begin earning through the videos he created, Vishnu shared, “It wasn’t easy at all. When I first started, I was experimenting with different forms of content, trying to understand what worked and what didn’t. It took time to develop my unique style, but once I found my groove, things started to come together.”

He added, “There was a lot of trial and error, but the key was staying true to my voice. Earning from content creation was a slow and organic process. The real breakthrough came when I realized that authenticity, consistency, and understanding my audience’s needs were the pillars of success.”

Vishnu Kaushal On Doing Reality Shows Like Bigg Boss, Traitors

Over the last several years, we’ve seen many content creators venture into the reality show space with shows like Bigg Boss, Traitors and Rise And Fall. When asked if he would like to be part of such shows if an opportunity comes, Vishnu Kaushal answered, “I’ve always believed that stepping outside your comfort zone is essential for personal growth. Reality shows like Bigg Boss or Traitors have certainly become platforms where content creators can showcase different aspects of their personalities. They provide a unique opportunity to connect with a much broader audience and present an unfiltered version of oneself. So, to answer your question—I would be open to participating in a reality show if the opportunity felt right.”

He continued, “For me, the key is maintaining my authenticity. I’ve built my brand on being relatable and real with my audience, and that’s something I wouldn’t want to compromise on a reality show. I wouldn’t be interested in participating just for the sake of fame; it would have to be an experience that allows me to express my true self, without trying to fit into a narrative that doesn’t align with who I am.”

Vishnu continued, “On the flip side, I understand how intense these shows can be. They’re a huge commitment, both mentally and emotionally, and not every show might suit my style or values. If the show gives me the opportunity to showcase my true personality, have meaningful interactions, and also engage with my audience in a way that aligns with my brand, then I’d definitely be open to it. But if I felt like it would conflict with my values or the image I’ve worked hard to build, I’d respectfully pass.”

“Stay away from these people…” Yes! They seem very dangerous! EuropaCorp has revealed the first official French trailer for a film titled Hell in Paradise, a thriller from filmmaker Leïla Sy, directed of the Street Flow movies and Yo Mama previously. It’s shot mainly in English (they speak Dhivehi in Maldives), hence why we’re featuring this first trailer. The film is set for a release in French cinemas starting in November – but no idea on a US date. Nina from Marseilles decides to take a fancy hotel job in the Maldives (a beautiful island nation in the Indian Ocean), but her paradise turns nightmarish after an incident. Falsely accused, she must evade traps to escape her unjust life sentence. Nina is thrown right into a horrible spiral of lies and manipulation and must outwit them all to escape this paradise turned hell… Starring Nora Arnezeder as Nina, as well as Alyy Khan, Shubham Saraf, Ranjit Krishnamma, Sartaj Garewal, Louka Meliava, Joséphine de la Baume, and Maria Bello. Another frightening story about how powerful people try to pass on their crimes to others without any power. Sad and upsetting – but I hope she will fight back and win.

Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Leïla Sy’s thriller Hell in Paradise, direct from YouTube:

Young Thug Says He’ll “Never Look At Gunna The Same No Matter What”

by jummy84 October 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Young Thug has opened up a bit further about his rift with his longtime friend and collaborator, Gunna.

On Monday’s (Sept. 29) episode of the It’s Up There Podcast, the Atlanta rapper spoke candidly about their fractured relationship, revealing that the bond they once shared is irreparable now following their two-year YSL RICO case.

Thug served two years in jail, while Gunna spent seven months behind bars after pleading guilty to racketeering charges. “I’m not gonna be able to look at [Gunna] the same no matter what,” Thug told the host. “We can go get a trillion dollars together. I’m not gonna be able to look at you the way I looked at you before we went to jail.”

Once inseparable, the two artists’ relationship hit a turning point after Gunna was allowed to leave jail only after acknowledging that YSL functioned as a gang. Thug, meanwhile, remained incarcerated until October 2024, when he reached his own plea agreement.

“I love you to death,” Thug admitted about Gunna. “I know you love me. We love each other to death, but we just going our own ways.”

Both rappers were among 28 individuals swept up in a 2022 RICO indictment, which prosecutors described as “targeting a hybrid entity” — part record label, part street gang. The case dragged on for nearly two years, becoming one of the longest criminal trials in Georgia history.

“The only reason why I’m looking at it like some bullsh*t is because you my brother,” Thug said speaking indirectly to Wunna. “On top of that, you my man, you my best friend.” Though he emphasized that he has no resentment towards him, Thug admitted that Gunna’s plea felt like a betrayal of their bond.

“It ain’t even no sense for you to trying to be back cool with me because we gonna be around each other and it’s gonna be weird,” he added. “The dap-up gonna be different, everything gon’ be different ’cause I already look at it like a different situation.” Despite the tension, Thug insists he’s not rooting against his former friend. “I still want you to eat, just not at my table,” he clarified.

The “Slat” rhymer made it clear that if he was to be around Gunna and “happy” he’ll “just feel like a f**k ni**a.” He explained, “I’mma feel like not a real person. I gotta be real, bruh.”

Take a look at his latest remarks on his relationship with Gunna below.

Andrew Garfield on If He’ll Return for ‘Social Network’ Sequel

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

The 63rd New York Film Festival celebrated its Opening Night on Friday, September 26 with Luca Guadagnino’s “After the Hunt,” its North American premiere following its debut at Venice last month. This year’s main slate includes films from 26 countries, among them two world premieres (including Bradley Cooper’s “Is This Thing On?” and Ulrich Köhler’s “Gavagai”), plus eight North American and 13 U.S. premieres.

On the red carpet, we asked star Andrew Garfield if there is any hope to seeing him in the newly announced sequel for “The Social Network.” “No, no,” Garfield told IndieWire. “Eduardo [Saverin] is in Singapore having a good time.” And is the actor excited to eventually see it? “Oh yeah.”

Jeremy Strong Mark Zuckerberg

The film is called “The Social Reckoning,” which is being written and directed this time by Aaron Sorkin. It will open in theaters on October 9, 2026. And alongside Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg, who is actually billed third among the cast list, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, and Bill Burr will all star. Sorkin’s original screenplay for the film tells the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.

Unrelated to the Sorkin film, we also caught up with screenwriter Nora Garrett, who made her feature writing debut with “After the Hunt.” “It all happened really quickly,” she told IndieWire of how she got involved with the Guadagnino project.

“Luca is a master of knowing what he wants and he is a master of moving with a swiftness without compromising any of his creative integrity,” she continued. “Allan Mandelbaum had come on as a producer and they sent it to Luca’s agent. Originally Luca had a scheduling conflict, but then luckily for me, it worked out.”

In Ryan Lattanzio’s review of the film, he writes, “The most recent movie ‘After the Hunt’ calls to mind is Todd Field’s “Tár,” similarly a cancel-culturally minded story set within academia, and about a female educator abusing her power. That film succeeded so well, in a way that everyone seemed to get without nose-wrinkling, because of its sense of humor about itself. ‘After the Hunt’ leaves some potential brambles of humor unpricked.”

Amazon MGM Studios will release “After The Hunt” in New York and LA theaters October 10 with a national rollout October 17. Check out the trailer here.

“We shall walk on the dust of death…” Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for a generic, mediocre new thriller titled Foe, being dumped on VOD later this month. Not to be confused with the recent sci-fi thriller also titled Foe from 2023 with Saoirse Ronan & Paul Mescal – this is entirely different. Don’t waste any time on it, this seems entirely forgettable. “I summon you to open the gate.” During a research tour in Barcelona, world-class master of Babylonian archeology is approached to decipher an ancient text. With an impending sense of dread, he translates the archaic parchment and ultimately opens a gate to another world, one that is drenched in horrifying mystery and danger. Johan’s life then becomes a frantic maze of nightmarish visions, pushing him to the edge of sanity. Starring Mark Gantt as Johan, Nikol Kollars, Timothy Gibbs, Reg Wilson, Mingo Ràfols, Anna Andres, and Joe Lewis. This looks really bad – avoid it entirely if you can.

Here’s the main official trailer (+ poster) for Antoni Solé’s film Foe, direct from Lionsgate’s YouTube:

Foe Official Trailer

During a research tour in Barcelona, Spain, Johan Meyers (starring Mark Gantt), a world-class master of Babylonian Archeology, is approached to decipher an ancient text. With an impending sense of dread, he translates the archaic parchment only to open a gate to another world drenched in horrifying mystery and danger. Johan’s life becomes a frantic maze of nightmarish visions, pushing him to the edge of sanity. His only hope for salvation is to complete his terrifying task and uncover the text’s earth-shattering secret. Foe is written and directed by Spanish producer / filmmaker Antoni Solé, making his feature directorial debut with this project. It’s also produced by Solé. Lionsgate will release Antoni Solé’s Foe thriller movie in select US theaters + on VOD starting September 30th, 2025 coming up this fall. Who’s curious about it?
