Prince Harry ‘closer’ to bringing kids to U.K. after King Charles meeting – National

Prince Harry — after meeting with his father, King Charles III, for the first time in almost two years last week — says he’s warming up to the idea of introducing his kids to their estranged family members.

During an exclusive interview with The Guardian, the Duke of Sussex, 41, said he would like to bring his American-born children, Princess Lilibet, 6, and Prince Archie, 4, whom he shares with his wife, The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, to his home country.

“Yes, I would. This week has definitely brought that closer,” he told the British outlet on an overnight train to Kyiv after a short trip to the U.K.

Not much is known about the recent meeting between Harry and his father, other than they sat down for a cup of tea.

The Duke, who became entirely estranged from the Royal Family after he released his tell-all memoir Spare, did not share a great deal about the rift at the behest of his father.

He did provide some novel tidbits about himself, including that he hates cycling because he has a “bony ass,” and that boxing and “hitting the hell out of a bag” help him to relieve stress.

The outlet went on to describe him as an “informal” person who walked around in his socks and made dad jokes during the overnight train ride to the capital of Ukraine.

Harry, who is not on speaking terms with his brother, Prince William, the Prince of Wales, said, “my conscience is clear,” while alluding to wanting to spend more time in the U.K. despite his public criticisms of his family.

His comments mark a shift in outlook from earlier this year, when Harry told the BBC he did not “see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K.,” after losing a legal bid to retain his publicly funded police security detail provided to him when visiting Britain.

“They’re going to miss, well, everything,” he said. “I love my country. I always have done. Despite what some people in that country have done,” the prince, whose security was downgraded when he left England for the U.S., continued.

“I miss the U.K., I miss parts of the U.K., of course I do,” he also told the BBC in May. “I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

Before his most recent visit, Harry last saw his father in person in February 2024, days after the King announced his cancer diagnosis.

During their latest meeting, the Duke of Sussex was seen arriving at Clarence House at around 5:20 p.m. local time on Sept. 10. He was pictured leaving just under an hour later, according to People.

The two have been distant since Harry and his wife, Meghan, left royal life and moved to California in 2020.

bitchy | Prince Harry paid his respects at the Alley of Heroes in Kyiv, Ukraine

by jummy84 September 14, 2025

When Prince Harry visited Lviv, Ukraine in April, I was so moved by Ukrainians’ reactions to his visit, and by Harry’s reaction to being on the ground. Harry was so interested in hearing personal stories (often through a translator) of war, injury and rehabilitation. The April visit was focused heavily on the Superhumans Center, a major rehab center for veterans, and not on the war itself. Of course, Harry’s April visit drew global attention and even more sympathy for Ukrainians. During that visit, Harry was loaded down with gifts, and he brought them home to Meghan and the kids.

Well, Harry arrived in Kyiv on Friday, and he had a jam-packed schedule for what looks like a 48-hour visit. He attended an Invictus conference and got to speak to a group of about 200 Ukrainian veterans and soldiers. He laid a wreath at a memorial in Kyiv’s Maidan Square. He promised to do everything possible to help Ukrainian veterans. He visited bombed-out buildings, some of which were still smoldering from Russian strikes. He paid his respects at the Alley of Heroes, and ended up creating one of the most iconic photos I’ve ever seen.

Suffice to say, Ukrainians love Harry and he’s once again being loaded down with gifts. It’s incredibly sweet and moving when you really think about it. When “royals” visit countries on official visits, they’re often given an official gift from the government. In Harry’s case, he’s basically there representing himself, Invictus and the spirit of survival. People really respond to him and they want him to remember his visit. These are not official gifts – these are just regular people who wanted to give something to the ginger prince and his pretty wife. Like, a Ukrainian chef went out of his way to give Harry a jar of borshch. People are giving him gifts for Meghan and the kids too.

bitchy | Eden: Prince Harry wants his kids to be educated in British boarding schools??

by jummy84 September 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Whenever Prince Harry makes any reference to bringing his children to the UK, it’s usually in a particular context about security and royal protection. It’s almost always a reference to wanting to show his children his place of birth as well, not on a permanent basis, but as a “visiting daddy’s homeland” sort of way. Harry’s original dream was to raise his kids alongside his niece and nephews, not to mention his cousins’ children as well. But then those people went after his wife and privately had “concerns” about his babies’ skin color, so Harry’s plans changed. Basically, Harry still wants Archie and Lili to be able to freely visit the UK with a high degree of security, but I think Harry knows that there is no “going back” for any of them, especially his kids. The entire royal institution wants to get their hands on Archie and Lili and control them and use them as next-gen scapegoats for the Wales family. Harry knows that as well. So no, I do not buy Richard Eden’s latest column in the Daily Mail:

Just last December, the Duke of Sussex was waxing lyrical about life in the USA.

‘I enjoy living and bringing my kids up here, it’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live and it feels as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me,’ California-based Harry declared of the late Princess Diana on stage at a conference in New York City.

Now, however, I can disclose that he wants to give his son, Prince Archie, and daughter, Princess Lilibet, a taste of his own childhood back home.

‘I can tell you that Harry wants to educate the children here in the UK,’ one of his pals tells me. The old friend discussed the subject with King Charles’s younger son during his visit to Britain this week – and the reasons for his plans are fascinating.

‘Harry feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their niece and nephews are enjoying,’ explains the chum, referring to the Prince and Princess of Wales’s offspring, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, ten, and Prince Louis, seven, who currently all attend the same public school, £32,000-per-year Lambrook in Berkshire.

‘Harry wants his children to have the very best education. He has retained his closest friendship group of confidants from his days at school at Ludgrove and Eton. He wants that for his own children.’

Harry may, however, have a challenge selling his plan to his wife, Meghan, who is said to consider sending children to boarding school ‘barbaric’. The friend concedes: ‘There is still some negotiation for Harry to have with Meghan. The King, however, is delighted.’

That comment suggests that the duke has mentioned his British education plan to his father. Archie is only six years old and Lilibet, who was controversially given Queen Elizabeth’s family pet name, is four, so they are unlikely to be sent to boarding school across the Atlantic any time soon. Their cousin Prince George, for example, won’t start boarding school (probably Eton) until next year. Harry’s comments do, however, provide an insight into his desire to retain links to his homeland and give his children, who have American accents, something of a British upbringing.

[From The Daily Mail]

I won’t pretend that American education isn’t a steeply tiered system in which millions of kids fall through the cracks. But let’s acknowledge the facts in this particular case: Harry and Meghan are going to send their kids to elite private schools throughout their education, and I’m sure the best schools in California will be chosen. No, I don’t believe that Harry longs to send his kids to British boarding schools or have them educated in the UK. Personally, I don’t think Harry has super-strong feelings about education in general and he’s fine with Meghan making those calls for their kids. And he probably wants Archie and Lili at home for as long as possible too, just like Meghan. It’s funny that Meghan and the Princess of Wales probably agree on their hatred for boarding schools.

bitchy | VF: Prince William ‘is more upset’ with Harry than ever, wants nothing to do with him

by jummy84 September 14, 2025

Katie Nicholl at Vanity Fair had a somewhat interesting new piece, published last Friday. I’m sure it was supposed to be “Harry is flying back home to America, here’s where things stand,” except that Harry ruined all of the palace talking points by traveling undercover to Ukraine on Friday. It seems a bit silly and superficial for the palace to still play these games while Harry was literally in a warzone. Still, why waste Nicholl’s perfectly good “sources close to Prince William?” According to those sources, William is somehow, remarkably, even more upset with Harry than ever before. LMAO. Peggy’s been stewing in his own rage-juices, it seems.

Prince Harry “loved” being back in the UK and “catching up” with his charities during his four-day tour, his official spokesman has said. Now, sources close to the Duke tell Vanity Fair that Harry hopes to bring his family to the UK “very soon.” One old acquaintance of the Duke said Harry has “high hopes” for a long-term reconciliation with his father King Charles and is already making plans to bring his wife, Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, back to Britain.

“It pains him that Archie and Lilibet don’t know their grandfather. One of his biggest regrets is that his grandmother, the Queen, didn’t spend more time with his children, he’s keen that he doesn’t have the same regrets with his father.”

However, while Harry and his father are presently back on speaking terms,Vanity Fair can reveal that relations between Harry and his brother Prince William remain at a low point. Despite being in Windsor, just minutes from William and Kate Middleton’s family home, Harry had “zero” communication with his brother.

“Their relationship is at an all-time low,” a source, who knows the brothers well, said. “It’s as if something has pushed William even further away from the prospect of a reconciliation. He is adamant that he wants nothing to do with his brother. He is more upset with him than ever.”

It is thought that William was incensed about Harry’s comments to the BBC, in which he said he did not know how long his father had left to live after being diagnosed with cancer. William was said to find the comments deeply offensive and insensitive.

The brothers have barely spoken in the past two years following the publication of Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare, in which he revealed how he and William had come to physical blows and had been sibling rivals for decades. William was also deeply upset when Harry revealed that Kate had not been welcoming to Meghan, and there had been an issue when Meghan had asked to borrow Kate’s lip gloss.

Meanwhile, Harry hopes that this latest visit to the UK will lead to him being able to return more often if the issue over his security can be resolved. After losing a High Court case and appeal for government-funded police protection, Harry, no longer a working royal, has to fund his own protection. However, this week’s visit showed he can work and travel safely in the country.

[From Vanity Fair]

I’m dying at those quotes about William. Was the source trying to set him up and make him seem super-childish? “He is adamant that he wants nothing to do with his brother. He is more upset with him than ever.” Harry and William have not said or written one word to each other directly since 2022, correct? And every time Harry travels to the UK, William is the one thrashing around, screaming “I will never speak to Harry!” So what happened? “It’s as if something has pushed William even further away from the prospect of a reconciliation.” What is that something? I’m really asking. It’s not what Harry said to the BBC in May. Please, William doesn’t give a sh-t about Harry saying “I don’t know how much time my father has left.” CHARLES cared about that, but not William. I think the “something” which pushed William further away was the dawning realization that Harry really isn’t coming back to do Willy’s work. Not only that, but Harry is super-happy in America and Harry has an amazing life with Meghan and their children. William is incandescent with jealousy and it’s eating him alive.

PS… As predicted last week, this VF piece marks the start of William’s two-week rage-briefing. There’s also a piece published in the Mail on Sunday in which “sources close to William” are saying similar things. We’ll cover talk about the Mail piece on Monday, alongside the Emmy coverage. Please don’t threadjack, but as I said, these are all William’s talking points, that he’s even angrier with Harry than ever before.

bitchy | Burrell: Prince Harry & Meghan’s marriage downfall is ‘inevitable’

by jummy84 September 14, 2025
written by jummy84

In 2016-17, the Windsors did the most to discourage Prince Harry and then-Meghan Markle’s relationship. The Windsors and Middletons began their character-assassination campaign against Meghan in particular in the fall of 2016. Prince William was discouraging Harry from getting serious with “the actress.” Charles panicked and claimed that he couldn’t “afford” Meghan. Once engaged, Meghan and Harry withstood a serious effort to ruin their engagement and wedding, including that bullsh-t with Meg’s father. Once H&M were married, the royal establishment, aristocracy and British establishment convinced themselves that Meghan was a “degree wife” who could easily be pushed out of her marriage and the country with a wall-to-wall smear campaign. William in particular was convinced that he could physically attack Harry in an attempt to force H&M to divorce. Harry disrupted all of these machinations by taking his wife far away from those horrible people. In their California exile, the Sussexes have been targeted the entire time. Harry and Meghan are fine. They’re probably the most successful royal marriage in a century. But according to Paul Burrell, Harry and Meghan are going to break up any day now.

A former royal butler believes Meghan Markle wanted a ‘starring role’ in the British Royal Family – and her marriage to Prince Harry is doomed to fail. Paul Burrell has lifted the lid on royal life in an interview on the Daily Mail Royals Channel.

‘I don’t think Meghan ever considered being a supporting actress,’ Burrell said. ‘I think she wanted to be a star.’ In his new book The Royal Insider: My Life with the Queen, the King and Princess Diana, Burrell writes: ‘She wanted to be the star but she would always have second billing to the future Queen Catherine. While Meghan wanted celebrity status, she did not want to conform to the rules of the House of Windsor. Being American, she struggled to understand the culture of the Royal establishment with its rules and protocols.’

Later in the bombshell book, Burrell writes that the downfall of Harry and Meghan’s marriage is ‘inevitable’.

Expanding on this in the interview with the Daily Mail, he said: ‘I think the two cultures which came together in the marriage of Harry and Meghan, there is a fault line down the middle of it and I feel that will crack one day. Think about it. Harry came from this very busy world of the Royal Family with lots to do. Even in his spare time, he could play polo and do whatever he wanted. He is sat in Montecito, twiddling his thumbs, thinking: “What do I do next? What is my role? Where is my work?”‘

Burrell said he believes this mentality will ‘wear thin’ for the Duke of Sussex.

‘As Meghan rises in Netflix firmament into whatever she will do,’ he said, ‘I think it won’t be enough for Meghan and it won’t be enough for Harry. She will just go off and her next step is a billionaire because she’s got millions so why not step up to a billionaire?’

[From The Daily Mail]

As we discussed last week, it seems like Burrell’s new book is almost exclusively about Harry and Meghan, two people he barely knows. He knew Harry when he was a child and that’s it. He’s never met Meghan, never spoken to her, never been in the same room with her. What is Burrell getting out of this ham-fisted attempt at a royal book again? Because this sh-t is just like reading aggregated Daily Mail stories. Anyway, Harry is fine, Meghan is fine, and Harry clearly has plenty to do. This caricature they have of California Harry, bored and lounging around the house, has nothing to do with the reality. In fact, I’m pretty sure this is all one big projection about the “other” couple. Prince William is the one who is bored and lazy, William and Kate’s marriage is in shambles, Willy is the one who will “crack.”

bitchy | VF: King Charles ‘has always left the door open for Harry to come back to Britain’

by jummy84 September 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Prince Harry’s final event of his British tour/visit was a panel discussion in London in association with The Diana Award on Thursday. Harry met organizers and young recipients of the award, and he basically looked lovely, happy, rich and free. Harry’s spokesperson told People Mag: “He’s obviously loved being back in the U.K., catching up with old friends, colleagues, and just generally being able to support the incredible work of the causes that mean so much to him.” I would imagine that part of Harry enjoyed the fact that his tour was so successful, royalists are now openly begging for him to be “half-in.” He also enjoyed – as did everyone else – the fact that he so thoroughly overshadowed the left-behinds, and that William and Kate were putting on the full clownshow to try to ride his coattails.

Obviously, people are still talking about Harry’s meeting/tea with his father on Wednesday. There are already leaks coming out, and those leaks are not from Team Sussex. Page Six claims that Harry came to tea with his phone full of photos and videos of Archie and Lilibet. I actually thought about this, and while I think Harry probably did show his dad some videos on his phone, a smarter bet would have been for Harry to bring his father a small little photo-album. I could totally see Meghan putting something like that together. Meanwhile, Katie Nicholl at Vanity Fair had an exclusive about the meeting and what it all means:

It is understood that the meeting was “brief but significant,” and that Harry had cleared his diary “for the entire day” in the hope that his father, who is in London for a number of official engagements, would be able to find a window of time for them to see each other.

“The meeting was brief because of the King’s busy diary and Harry having an Invictus engagement in his diary, but it’s very significant that it has happened,” says Charlotte Griffiths, editor at large at The Mail on Sunday. She also revealed that a meeting between Harry and his father was in the cards after their respective communication aides were photographed meeting in London this summer.

“Harry had a meeting in London this morning and then made sure he kept his schedule completely clear so that he could see his father at a moment’s notice,’ according to Griffiths. “It was a last-minute diary plan – it wasn’t in Harry’s diary – but perhaps that’s because he was nervous about leaks. He was prepared to drop everything to see his father and he let that be known to the palace.”

Sources close to King Charles say he is keen for a reconciliation with Harry, and that while he agreed to see his son, any long-term reconciliation is up to the Duke.

“The King has always left the door open for Harry to come back to Britain, Charles genuinely misses him and it pains him that there is a rift, but the ball is in Harry’s court,” says a source who knows the King. “If details of their meeting are leaked, then it will be a short-lived reconciliation. The issue of trust is very important to the King, and has been breached in the past. Harry has to prove he can keep the conversations between them private if he wants to really have a relationship with his father.”

[From Vanity Fair]

I don’t understand? “The King has always left the door open for Harry to come back to Britain… but the ball is in Harry’s court.” The open door, in my opinion, was for Harry to “come back” under pretty narrow circumstances – Harry would only be allowed to return on a permanent basis, full-time, divorced, broke and humbled. Charles will not allow the entire Sussex family to visit regularly with full security and a safe place to stay on a part-time basis. Which isn’t much of an open door, you know? The door is barely ajar.

The Daily Mail’s Becky English also had a fussy exclusive about Harry and Charles’s tea. There was little new information beyond “it was, say insiders, the first tentative step on the road to reconciliation – at least between father and son.” English did what all other royal reporters are doing this week and acting like Harry regularly spills everything or briefs against his family. Nope – Charles, William and Camilla are the near-constant leakers, and watch what comes out about this meeting in the weekend papers.

bitchy | Prince Harry is making a surprise visit to Kyiv, Ukraine on behalf of Invictus

by jummy84 September 13, 2025
written by jummy84

For the second time this year, Prince Harry flew from England to Ukraine. He did the same back in April – he was in the UK for a court appearance in his security case, and he flew undercover to Ukraine to visit the Superhumans Center in Lviv. The British media was furious, as was Harry’s sibling, who apparently wants to visit Ukraine but it’s been deemed too dangerous for him. Once again, Harry is the one in a warzone, this time in Kyiv. Once again, Harry is the one showing courage and bravery. According to the BBC, Harry arrived in Kyiv by train, where he was greeted by Superhumans’ founder Olha Rudnieva. She hugged Harry and “handed the prince a podstakannik – a silver holder for a glass used to drink tea, traditionally provided on night trains across Ukraine.” Amazing. Harry also spoke to the Guardian:

Prince Harry has made a surprise visit to Kyiv after an invitation from the Ukrainian government, saying he wanted to do “everything possible” to help the recovery of the thousands of military personnel who have been seriously injured in the three-year war against Russia. During the trip to the Ukrainian capital, he and a team from his Invictus Games Foundation are set to detail new initiatives to support the rehabilitation of the wounded, with the eventual aim of providing help to all areas of the country.

Earlier this year it was estimated that the Ukraine war had already left 130,000 people with permanent disabilities – and the government has now put rehabilitation through sport at the heart of its policy for helping veterans.

Speaking to the Guardian on an overnight train to the capital, the Duke of Sussex said: “We cannot stop the war but what we can do is do everything we can to help the recovery process. We can continue to humanise the people involved in this war and what they are going through. We have to keep it in the forefront of people’s minds. I hope this trip will help to bring it home to people because it’s easy to become desensitised to what has been going on.”

The prince said he was initially invited to Kyiv by Olga Rudnieva, the founder and CEO of the Superhumans Trauma Centre in Lviv, Ukraine which treats wounded amputees. He visited the centre in April, but met her by chance a couple of months ago in the US.

“I bumped into Olga in New York. It was a chance meeting and I asked her what I could do to help. She said ‘the biggest impact you have is coming to Kyiv’. I had to check with my wife and the British government to make sure it was OK. Then the official invitation came. In Lviv, you don’t see much of the war. It is so far west. This is the first time we will see the real destruction of the war.”

Ukraine first took part in the Invictus Games in 2017, but enthusiasm and need for the competition, which was founded by the Prince in 2014 for wounded veterans to compete in sports events, has grown dramatically since the conflict with Russia began. The Duke remembered the reception Ukraine’s team received at the games in The Hague two years ago.

“It was remarkable. Every one of the participants had a journey to get to those games, but nobody from any of the other competing nations was going back to war. That is why the Ukrainians stood out. Everyone felt an immense connection to them. Some of the competitors were being pulled off the battlefield and were going back to the battlefield. It means so much to us, because it means so much to them.”

During the trip, the Prince is due to visit the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War. He is expected to spend time with 200 veterans, who have also been invited. He is also due to meet the Ukrainian prime minister, Yulia Svyrydenko.

Travelling to Kyiv would give him a chance to talk to veterans, and also see some of the destruction first-hand, he said. While the biennial Invictus Games have been the focal point of much of the foundation’s work, it has been increasing its sports recovery programmes to help provide opportunities for rehabilitation beyond the main games, including by providing sports equipment in Ukraine.

[From The Guardian]

Harry isn’t solo – he has some Invictus people with him, and the focus is very much on Ukraine’s veterans, soldiers and the civilians who have been living in this warzone for two and a half years. Keep in mind that the British press has been trying to stir up trouble in Invictus as well, and they’ve argued that Harry is too controversial or whatever to be the Invictus founder/patron. And here he is, making his second visit to Ukraine in six months. It’s extraordinary. I love the mention of asking permission from his wife and from the British government. Keir Starmer probably knew about this trip before Prince William. There are plates being smashed in Kensington Palace today!

Prince Harry has arrived in Ukraine for a surprise visit in support of wounded service members.

“We cannot stop the war but what we can do is do everything we can to help the recovery process,” he told reporters.

bitchy | Tina Brown: King Charles is ‘less irritated’ with Harry than he is with lazy William

by jummy84 September 12, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s somewhat funny to me that all of the supposed royalists can’t actually say what they’re thinking in regular interviews or newspaper columns, they have to save it all for their Substacks. I’m shocked by Tom Sykes’ admissions in his Substack column, and Tina Brown’s Fresh Hell Substack seems to be breaking some news this week. Brown is the only one who will say what all of them know but can’t admit openly: that Prince Harry’s mini-tour of the UK completely overshadowed the work-shy Waleses and that King Charles likely met with Harry to send Prince William a message in particular. Some highlights from Fresh Hell:

Harry got it right: At last, Prince Harry has got it right, which is bad news for the Prince of Wales. After five years of exuding choler and wrath and spouting therapeutic gibberish, the ginger whinger finally realized that all the royals have to do to win public enthusiasm is zip around the UK and smile…As Harry’s buoyant photo ops dueled with Prince William and Kate’s engagements for press coverage this week, you had to ask: Who would you rather hang with? The Tigger-like Duke of Sussex or sober, appropriate William and infinitely perfect Kate, taking tea and cake with a cooing chapter of one of Queen Elizabeth’s most beloved but groaningly square charities, The Women’s Institute.

Harry’s donations: Harry’s own reset, a positivity campaign he hopes will endear him to his still estranged father and a negative British public (those cheers in Nottingham were a good start), came with a new unexpected gambit—a contribution from his own bank account of £1.1 million to the Children in Need project. It cannily unleashed for William the uneasy question of what exactly the 43-year-old Prince of Wales is doing with the £23 million a year he gets from the Duchy of Cornwall. Back when Charles was Prince of Wales, he was a powerhouse of philanthropy, starting at age 27, when he used his £7,400 severance pay from the Royal Navy to seed The Prince’s Trust, which has gone on to raise more than £100 million a year. Without wishing to be churlish, I can’t help pointing out that William’s annual Earthshot Prize of £1 million (covered by sponsors) to five promising innovators in the climate change space is a little underwhelming.

Charles is irritated with William’s lazy ass: While the British press obsesses over the question of a Harry/Charles reunion (getting warmer) or a Harry/William rapprochement (not gonna happen), the king is, I am told, currently less irritated with the prodigal Harry than he is with his elder son and heir. Somehow, William’s parenting dedication always seems couched as a tacit criticism of the king’s own paternal deficiencies. And after five confirmed family vacations in the past seven months, William’s first-week-back diary pulsated with two outings: a father-daughter excursion to a Women’s Rugby World Cup pool match and a stroll through the Natural History Museum’s new gardens. Charles, despite his battle with cancer, has carried out official engagements on 175 days during the past 12 months.

[From Tina Brown’s Fresh Hell]

That hit on Earthshot is gonna hurt. But she’s right: once you see how Earthshot is structured – prize winners don’t even get their £1 million all at once, but parceled out over five years – it’s extremely underwhelming. That’s William and Kate’s tagline too: “extremely underwhelming.” I don’t think William and Kate are focusing so much on their parenting duties as some kind of criticism of Charles though. I mean, maybe that’s part of it for William, but I think W&K simply use their kids as deflection from work entirely. They act like they’re simply incapable of working part-time because of the damn school run and their kids’ school holidays. They literally refuse to work whenever their kids have a school break. It’s insane. Anyway, Tina Brown always has a lot of sh-t to say about Harry and Meghan, but she’s like most well-connected royalists: she knows, deep down, that the Sussexit profoundly damaged the monarchy.

bitchy | Prince Harry & King Charles met for tea at Clarence House for 55 minutes

by jummy84 September 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Honestly, I believed that Prince Harry and King Charles would meet at some point this week. I realized that it would happen when I noticed that Harry had not said one word (one way or the other) about meeting his father. If Charles had rejected him or shut down the request, Harry would have called him out publicly yet again. So, long story short, Harry went to Clarence House on Wednesday afternoon. Charles had flown back to London from Balmoral on Wednesday morning. Charles didn’t come back to London solely to meet Harry – Charles has been receiving cancer treatments mid-week in London for the past 18 months or so. That’s why Charles was back in London, but sure, he made a point of having a 55-minute meeting with Harry as well.

Prince Harry and King Charles have reunited. It marks the first time that the father and son have met in person since February 2024, days after King Charles, 76, revealed he was being treated for an undisclosed cancer.

Prince Harry, 40, was seen arriving by car at Clarence House, the King’s London residence, around 5:20 p.m. local time on Sept. 10. He was inside for about 55 minutes before departing.

Following the meeting, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King had a private tea at Clarence House with the Duke of Sussex and said no further details would be shared. A spokesperson for Prince Harry echoed the same, reiterating that father and son met for tea and that there would be no additional comment.

The Duke of Sussex returned to the U.K. on Sept. 8 to support some of his key charities and causes. After arriving in his home country and paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth on the third anniversary of her death on Sept. 8, Harry attended the WellChild Awards. The following day, he traveled to Nottingham, England — about 130 miles north of London — to highlight the work being done for young people there.

The father and son were both in London on Wednesday. The Duke of Sussex visited Imperial College London’s Centre for Blast Injury Studies that day, greeting fans who were waiting outside as he left. Shaking hands and snapping selfies, he excused himself by saying, “I have to go, I’m so late… I’ve got to go, I’ve got to go. Nice to meet you guys,” according to the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, the King was spotted boarding a plane from Scotland, where he was spending time at Balmoral Castle in recent weeks, to the capital city.

[From People]

I could not believe the kind of mainstream coverage this got. The Wall Street Journal, WaPo, NBC News, the BBC, Sky News, and more, all providing breathless coverage like it was a 21st century Potsdam. CNN even had “breaking news” coverage with the banner and everything. Anyway, I’m glad they saw each other for the first time in a year and a half. On Harry’s side, I think he just wanted to see his father and be able to hold his only living parent for a brief moment. On Charles’s side, who even knows. I think it was mostly Charles acknowledging that he can’t continue to ignore this huge problem, which is the years-long Sussexit fallout and estrangement. Also: At Harry’s evening event for Invictus (more on that in another post), he was asked about his father by a reporter. Harry said: “Yes, he’s great, thank you.”

I said this on Twitter yesterday, but it’s worth repeating here: we’ve got at least two full weeks of Kensington Palace rage-briefing over this meeting. Plates are being smashed, pillows are being thrown, and there’s enough incandescent rage to power all of the lightbulbs in England.

Kit Harington and Keira Knightley join Harry Potter audiobook cast

10 September 2025

Kit Harington and Keira Knightley have been cast in the new Harry Potter audiobook series.

Keira Knightley has joined the cast of the new Harry Potter audiobooks

The Game of Thrones actor and Black Doves actress are among the 10 new stars lending their voices to the Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions.

Kit will voice Professor Lockhart with Keira taking on the role of Professor Umbridge in the upcoming Pottermore Publishing and Audible project.

Game of Thrones’ Iwan Rheon and Gemma Whelan will voice Professor Lupin and Professor Sprout respectively, with Ruth Wilson joining as Bellatrix Lestrange, Ambika Mod playing Nymphadora Tonks, and Leo Woodall as Bill Weasley.

James McAvoy has also joined as Mad-Eye Moody, while Matt Berry will voice Sir Cadogan.

For the new audiobooks, Arthur Weasley will be played by Simon Pegg, whose Hot Fuzz co-star Nick Frost is portraying Rubeus Hagrid in HBO’s separate TV revival of the wizarding franchise.

Casting for a number of key roles already been confirmed for the audiobooks.

For the first three books – The Philosopher’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban – Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester and Arabella Stanton will voice Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger respectively.

Arabella has also been cast as Hermione in HBO’s reboot, alongside Dominic McLaughlin (Harry) and Alastair Stout (Ron).

For the final four audiobooks – Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince and the Deathly Hallows – Frankie, Max and Lester will be replaced by Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan and Nina Barker-Francis.

Elsewhere in the Full-Cast Audio Editions, Cush Jumbo will narrate, with Hugh Laurie (Albus Dumbledore), Matthew Macfadyen (Lord Voldemort), Riz Ahmed (Professor Snape), Michelle Gomez (Professor McGonagall) and Mark Addy (Hagrid).

The cast so far is rounded off by Alex Hassell as Lucius Malfoy, Daniel Mays as Dobby, and Sara and Anvi Deshmukh as the Patil twins.

The audiobooks are separate from HBO’s series, and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner recently offered a word of warning for Dominic, Alastair and Arabella about life as a child star.

She told Flaunt magazine: “I look at the kids who are about to be in the new Harry Potter and I just want to give them a hug and say, ‘Look, it’s going to be okay but don’t go anywhere near [social media].

“’Stay friends with your home friends, keep living at home with your family, make sure your parents are your chaperones — it’s so important to have that grounding adjacent to the big, crazy stuff that you do.’”
