Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is once again the talk of the internet, and this time it’s not just because of his iconic acting. Known for his constant engagement with fans and keeping up with the latest trends, Big B recently posted a quirky video on Instagram, showcasing a new addition to his car, a Labubu doll. While the doll itself caught some attention, it was the contents of his car dashboard that got fans buzzing.

Labubu, a viral trend that has been taking over social media with celebrities flaunting the plush toy, now has a place in Bachchan’s car. In the video, Amitabh, always in high spirits, introduces Labubu with a playful message in English: “Brothers and sisters, I’m showing you Labubu, who is now in my car. See you tomorrow, Labubu. Bye.” He added the hashtag #Labubu and a few other hashtags to his post. His lighthearted interaction with the doll left fans entertained, but it was his dashboard that grabbed even more attention.

As viewers zoomed in on the video, they noticed something unusual on his car’s dashboard, a paused Hanuman Chalisa track, accompanied by a picture of Bajrangbali on the screen. The presence of the spiritual image and the paused prayer song prompted several curious reactions from his followers. Actor Karanvir Sharma humorously commented, “Sir, Hanuman Chalisa with Labubu is a must,” suggesting a fusion of spirituality and fun.

Other fans chimed in with their own takes and said, “Labbu’s meeting with Jayaji. Epic battle”. Another user lightheartedly noted, “Thank God Hanuman is there, no tension,” acknowledging the calming effect of the spiritual presence amidst the playful vibe of the doll. Yet, a few users took a more critical approach, questioning the pairing: “Sir, do you believe in all this?” while others suggested he “throw it away” due to concerns about the doll’s appropriateness.

RANVEER SINGH’S BIG BACKING! Supports AI-generated Film “Chiranjeevi Hanuman” | Glamsham.com

The newly announced AI-made movie Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal has brought forth a fierce controversy within the Indian movie industry. Directed by Abundantia Entertainment and due for release on Hanuman Jayanti in 2026, the initiative is being advertised as a “Made-in-AI, Made-in-India” movie extravaganza. While some welcomed the announcement, others began strong criticism against the project from many key filmmakers.

Ranveer Singh Supports the Project

Bollywood star Ranveer Singh indicated his backing of the film by posting “Wah ????” on Abundantia’s official announcement status. Interestingly, Singh does not follow the production house account but follows one of the producers of the film, Vijay Subramaniam. The understated endorsement attracted notice, particularly in the wake of rising criticism from the creative fraternity.

Filmmakers Slam AI-Driven Approach

Director Anurag Kashyap heavily criticized the initiative, aiming at Vijay Subramaniam and Collective Artists Network, which has many creative people among its representation. In a scathing Instagram post, Kashyap criticized the shift to AI-produced content as a betrayal of human creators. He blamed Subramaniam for standing for profit above the principles of art and appealed to actors to question or distance themselves from agencies supporting such initiatives.

“Any actor or anybody who calls themselves artists and has a spine will be and should be questioning him or quitting the agency,” Kashyap wrote, insisting that creators are being substituted for “AI performances.”

Industry Divided

Director Vikramaditya Motwane too disapproved, posting, “And so it begins… Who TF needs writers and directors when it’s ‘Made in AI’. The intense reactions are a sign of an increasing worry in the creative community about AI in the making of films.

With the release of Chiranjeevi Hanuman in 2026, controversy regarding AI in film is likely to only get hotter.”.

Abundantia Entertainment and Collective Media Network’s Historyverse announced an AI-generated film based on the lore of Lord Hanuman titled Chianjeevi Hanuman—The Eternal. The film has been touted as a first-of-its-kind ‘Made-In-AI’ and ‘Made-In-India’ feature film for theatrical release. Actor Ranveer Singh has now extended his support for the project, backing one of the film’s producers, Vijay Subramaniam on Instagram. Ranveer commented on the joint Instagram post of Abundantia Entertainment, where he shared the announcement. The post also included Vijay’s Instagram account, which Ranveer follows. The caption read, “Proud and honoured to bring the timeless story of ‘Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal’, to theatres, in a first-of-its-kind, ‘Made-In-AI’, ‘Made-In-India’ avatar. With deep reverence for our culture, heritage and history, we are set to release this innovative spectacle in theatres on Hanuman Jayanti 2026.”

Ranveer commented, “Wah (claps emoticon).”

Fans of the actor were not impressed with him openly supporting an AI-generated film. One wrote, “It’s AI. One day, they’ll make a movie without you using AI. Why are you supporting this lack of creativity?” Another said, “What’s waah about this bro? Isn’t it disrespectful to real artists?” A comment read, “As a part of the cinema industry and actor with a huge reach, the least you can do is boycott the use of AI in the creative industries and promote actual screenwriters.”

Vijay’s statement

In a statement released to the press, Vijay Subramaniam, Founder and group CEO of Collective Artists Network, said, “With this film, we have the extraordinary opportunity to reimagine cultural storytelling for an audience that cherishes both tradition and innovation. Our approach is rooted in authenticity and cultural stewardship, ensuring complete transparency about the role of AI in the creative process.”

Director Anurag Kashyap lashed out at Vijay for backing an AI-generated film while heading an artists’ agency. A part of his note on Instagram read, “This right here is the future for the spineless and cowardly so called artists in the Hindi Film industry. Well done Vijay Subramaniam. Shame is not enough on you. You should be in the gutter.” Vikaramaditya Motwane also called out the makers, and said, “And so it begins… Who TF needs writers and directors when its ‘Made in AI’.”

On the work front, Ranveer will next be seen in Dhurandhar, which will be released in theatres later this year in December.
