Jack White, Post Malone, Lil Jon Play NFL Thanksgiving Halftime Shows

White plays the Lions-Packers game, Malone headlines the Cowboys-Chiefs game, and Lil Jon performs at the Ravens-Bengals game

The NFL has announced the halftime performers for its Thanksgiving games, which include Jack White, Post Malone, and Lil Jon.

The festivities on Nov. 27 kickoff with the holiday’s traditional Detroit Lions game. The Lions will host the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field in Detroit, and hometown hero Jack White will headline the halftime festivities. Fellow Detroiter Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg will executive produce the halftime event.

White — who is fresh off being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Meg White as the White Stripes — shared the news on Instagram alongside the Detroit Lions, the NFL, and others. He posted video of blue vinyl being pressed, which features a label on the record announcing his appearance. The post is captioned, “Hot off the press.”

Post Malone will hit the halftime stage when his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys take on the Kansas City Chiefs at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. In a joint Instagram post with the team, the NFL, and others, Malone shared a video that shows him wearing a Cowboys jacket and driving a semi-truck into Dallas. “Bigger is always better,” he says in the clip announcing his performance.

“I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years,” Malone said in a statement. “It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.”

Lil Jon is set to perform the halftime show when the Baltimore Ravens host the Cincinnati Bengals at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry will sing the national anthem at the game, the Ravens announced last week.

Megan Thee Stallion Says She’s Manifesting’ Headlining The Super Bowl Halftime Show

#MeganTheeStallion has her eyes set on the Super Bowl halftime show.

Speaking with Us Weekly, the Grammy Award–winning rapper shared, “I’m manifesting a #SuperBowl halftime performance for myself in the future.” Megan, who went viral for two weekends straight earlier this year thanks to her #Coachella set, continued, “Honestly, I would really love the opportunity if it presented itself and I would embrace the challenge. The #Hotties know I love to put on a show, so I would just want to turn the halftime show into a big party, come with some surprises and put on for my city.”

#KendrickLamar took center stage for February’s Super Bowl, and #BadBunny is set to headline in 2026. While female rappers like #MissyElliott and M.I.A. have performed as guest acts, no woman rapper has ever been the sole headliner of the Super Bowl Halftime Show. If Megan were to land the gig, it would mark yet another historic milestone in her career.

Would you be here for a Megan Thee Stallion Super Bowl halftime show?

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Says League Is Committed To Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show Despite Backlash From Trump Administration

The NFL is backing #BadBunny!

Commissioner #RogerGoodell doubled down on the league’s decision to have Bad Bunny headline next year’s #SuperBowl Halftime Show, saying the #NFL remains committed despite backlash from the Trump administration and others. Praising the Puerto Rican superstar’s reach, Goodell said, “He’s one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world. That’s what we try to achieve. It’s an important stage for us. It’s an important element to the entertainment value, and it’s carefully thought through,” adding that criticism comes with virtually every selection.

Goodell also signaled the show could expand beyond a solo set, noting the halftime stage often features surprise guests alongside the headliner. Citing recent examples, he pointed to #KendrickLamar’s show with appearances from #SZA, Serena Williams and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as #Usher’s 2024 set that brought out #Ludacris, Alicia Keys and #LilJon. “I am not saying that there won’t be additional talent that might be involved but that’s always the way it works,” he said of the production, which is done in partnership with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.

Are you happy with Bad Bunny headlining the halftime show?

Neil Young, Joan Baez Not Playing TPUSA Halftime

Neil Young, Joan Baez Not Playing TPUSA Halftime

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

For anyone eagerly awaiting an “alternative” to the Super Bowl halftime show featuring Bad Bunny, the “All-American Halftime Show” appears to be on, and for the same day, Feb. 8.

But contrary to what you may have seen on social media, Joan Baez and Neil Young, at the very least, will not be part of it.

AI slop continues to seep into social media, with Boomer-era musicians continually depicted in false photos. As Rolling Stone has previously reported, bogus images of classic rockers in hospitals or singing at the graves of other rockers have flooded the internet — fooling some fans in the process and provoking laughs in just as many. (No, Steven Tyler did not visit Robert Plant in a hospital after he “collapses on stage.”)

The lineup for Turning Point USA‘s “All-American Half-Time Show” — “celebrating faith, family and freedom” — hasn’t yet been announced. (One can, however, go to TPUSA’s website to vote for which category of music you’d like to see and hear, which includes, tellingly, “Anything in English.”) But that hasn’t stopped the AI machine from churning out at least one fake TPUSA half-time ad announcing that Baez and Young will be co-headlining “a heartfelt and patriotic alternative to the Super Bowl 60 halftime event” that will “honor the enduring legacy of Charlie Kirk.” To ram home the point, a football field and large American flag are shown in the background. In overblown language familiar to anyone who tracks such things, the post adds, “With Joan’s golden voice and Neil’s grace-filled harmony, the All-American Halftime Show will turn the world’s biggest stage into a moment of hope and homecoming.”

Reps for Young and Baez declined to comment, much like reps for Bob Dylan, Phil Collins, Bruce Springsteen, and others who have passed on making statements about AI imagery that’s hoodwinked whatever percentage of their fan bases.

The inclusion of Baez and Young, two particularly devoted Trump bashers, is especially amusing in light of Young’s new anti-Trump protest song “Big Crime” and Baez’s criticisms of the president. And let’s not forget their participation in the L.A. stop of this year’s Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, where they were also joined by Maggie Rogers. There, Baez sang the folk song “Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around” with updated Trump-era lyrics ( “Ain’t gonna let no white supremacists turn me around”) and Young led the crowd in a sing-along of “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

Trending Stories

Another bogus post claims that “six legends” of country, including Willie Nelson, will be partaking in the same bizarro-universe halftime show. “More AI horseshit about Willie,” a rep for Nelson tells Rolling Stone. “They obviously don’t know anything about Willie, do they?”

To quote one commentator on the Young-Baez fabrication: “I don’t think so, but nice try, dingbats.”

Nas Reveals Where He Stands On Super Bowl Halftime Show Performances

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

While many artists dream of headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Hip-Hop icon Nas recently revealed that he has no interest in joining that elite list—despite being more than qualified.

In a conversation with Complex, the Queensbridge native was asked about potentially performing at the NFL’s biggest stage, and his response was refreshingly candid.

“Nah, I don’t want to do … I can’t say I don’t want to do the Super Bowl, but I don’t,” Nas admitted. “Why would I do that? Leave it to the professionals. Leave it to the pros. I’m a pro at what I do.”

Known for his lyrical depth and cultural impact, Nas explained that he’s more comfortable in the role of an observer when it comes to the Super Bowl spectacle.

He offered praise for recent performers, acknowledging the quality of the show in recent years. “I want to watch dope halftime shows and that’s what has been happening lately so salute to all of them,” he said, referencing standout Super Bowl sets from Usher, Dr. Dre, Rihanna, and Kendrick Lamar.

Although Nas may not see himself on that stage, many would argue that few are more deserving. With a career spanning three decades, 20 studio albums, and a legacy that includes classics like Illmatic, the 52-year-old has remained a force in Hip-Hop and beyond.

His humility aside, the conversation comes at a time when the NFL continues to embrace more diverse talent.

Bad Bunny is set to headline the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California—marking a historic moment as the first solo act primarily performing in Spanish to take center stage.

Nas may be sitting this one out, but his presence in Hip-Hop culture remains as powerful as ever.

Carlos Santana shuts down viral rumours he opposed Bad Bunny’s booking for the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Carlos Santana has debunked viral rumours that he opposed Bad Bunny being booked for next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show – see what he had to say below.

  • READ MORE: Bad Bunny – ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’ review: ode to homeland is a new high for the Puerto Rican star

Since Bad Bunny was announced to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show next February, viral rumours – partially made through AI – have circulated the internet claiming that Mexican-American guitarist Carlos Santana pushed back against the idea of the Puerto Rican rapper playing the coveted slot.

Meanwhile, other posts claimed that Carlos Santana had even petitioned to replace the ‘Perfumito Nuevo’ rapper at the sporting event. Now, in a statement provided to Billboard, Santana and his manager have firmly shot down any talk of opposing Bad Bunny.

Santana’s manager the rampant us of AI to spread misinformation: “AI has accelerated the spread of misinformation, making it harder for the truth to break through the noise. Don’t rely on random or unverified posts — even well-meaning outlets can get misled.”

Santana said in his own statement: “I congratulate and celebrate Bad Bunny’s success and his position right now with the world and with the Super Bowl. I feel total oneness with what he’s doing because we are here to utilize art to complement and bring the world closer to harmony and oneness.”

“However, we’re living in a time of fear, division, separation, superiority and inferiority. Fear is the flavour right now,” he continued. “Fear is what motivates ignorant people to put words in my mouth – saying that I didn’t want Bad Bunny to be represented at the Super Bowl. I never said that, nor would I ever. Just to be clear, my heart is in total harmony with Bad Bunny, and I celebrate his success, his triumph and his phenomenal achievement. Anything other than that is coming from people’s ignorance.”

“We’re living in a time when hostile forces love to create conflict, separation and division, because the hostile forces don’t like unity, harmony, oneness and joy. They want people to be miserable and to spend too much time in their minds. I spend a lot of time in my heart, and in my heart I celebrate Bad Bunny. I can’t stop playing his song ‘Monaco’ — there’s something really magical about it.”

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl slot has received a wave of criticism from the ring-wing community, who believe that the rapper – despite hailing from Puerto Rico, a territory of the United States – should not be performing at the sporting event.

The right-wing backlash to the news was almost immediate, with US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem criticising the NFL for choosing him as their halftime performer, despite the largely Spanish-performing artist being a US citizen.

Meanwhile Trump’s administration has confirmed that ICE agents will be present at the Super Bowl to apprehend any illegal immigrants, and the President himself has branded Halftime Show slot “crazy” and says he’s “never heard of him”.

Right-wing organisation Turning Point USA – which was founded by prominent Trump supporter Charlie Kirk, who was shot dead last month – has announced the ‘All American Halftime Show’ in opposition to Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show and promised that performers and further details would be revealed soon.

UK Rapper Giggs Performs at Halftime for NFL Game in London

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

The NFL has been spicing up its international games with halftime performers, a bit like mini-Super Bowls.

British rapper Giggs performed Sunday (Oct. 12) at halftime of the game between the New York Jets and Denver Broncos at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Broncos won 13-11.

“It’s a huge moment to be a part of the London Games,” Giggs said. “I’ve been on a journey with my music, and to get to share that with my city and the NFL fans is something I’m really proud of.”

The south London native’s 2007 single “Talkin’ da Hardest” remains a popular anthem among his fans. Cleveland Browns players unfamiliar with the song liked what they heard when it was played last week.

Giggs has done collaborations with artists including Drake, 21 Savage, Ed Sheeran and Dave.

Last week, British singer Raye performed a halftime show at Tottenham with a nearly seven-minute set that included her hit “Where is My Husband!” The Minnesota Vikings beat Cleveland 21-17 in the game.

British singer-songwriter Myles Smith was chosen to headline the halftime show at the first-ever regular-season NFL game in Ireland. At Croke Park, the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Vikings 24-21 two weeks ago.

Last month, Grammy award-winning Karol G performed in São Paulo, Brazil, when the Los Angeles Chargers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 27-21 at Corinthians Arena.

Bad Bunny will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show at Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, California.

The NFL has been on an aggressive international growth pattern, so expect more to come.

“Bringing the best in sports and entertainment is what the international games are all about,” said Tim Tubito, senior director of global game presentation and entertainment at the NFL.

Turning Point USA To Hold Competing Super Bowl Halftime Show

by jummy84 October 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Turning Point USA, a conservative nonprofit organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk, is scheduled to hold a competing 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show against Bad Bunny‘s main stage performance during the biggest game of the year.

The organization confirmed as much via X, with the post reading, “It’s true, Turning Point USA is thrilled to announce The All American Halftime Show. Performers and event details coming soon.” It also stresses the theme of “faith, family and freedom.”

The included link leads to a form that supporters can fill out regarding potential halftime acts. Listed genre options include Americana, classic rock, country, hip-hop, pop, worship, and “anything in English,” a direct reference to Bad Bunny’s biggest hits being in his native language, Spanish.

Pres. Trump has also expressed his disapproval of Bad Bunny hitting the stage, telling NewsMax’s Greg Kelly, “I’ve never heard of him. I don’t know who he is… I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s crazy. And then they blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment — I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

The “DtMF” artist has already brushed off the hate, coyly responding to conservative naysayers during his most recent Saturday Night Live appearance.

Bad Bunny has found support in his fellow Latinos, with Jennifer Lopez recently going to bat for the Puerto Rican artist during a visit to the TODAY show.

“He’s one of the top artists in the world right now, probably the top,” the actress said. “It could be a lot of different people. That’s the thing. I’m super excited for people to see him. I think they’ll be pleasantly surprised because his music transcends language. It’s amazing what he’s done. He’s done something that a lot of people have never done in their life.”

Bad Bunny Addresses Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Backlash on SNL

Bad Bunny isn’t letting his critics get the best of him.

The “Baile Inolvidable” singer spoke out following criticism of his upcoming performance at the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show during the season 51 premiere of Saturday Night Live Oct. 4, where he served as host.

“I’m very happy,” he said during his opening monologue, “and I think everyone is happy about it—even Fox News.”

The sketch comedy series then showed a clip montage featuring news coverage of the 31-year-old’s halftime slot, which was edited to say, “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician and he should be the next president.”

Bad Bunny went on to say that “people all around the world who love my music” were looking forward to the Feb. 8 performance, adding in Spanish, “Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”
