Kaia Gerber's Trainer Kirsty Godso Says Channeling Lara Croft's Style at the Gym Is the Ultimate Workout Hack

Kaia Gerber’s Trainer Kirsty Godso Says Channeling Lara Croft’s Style at the Gym Is the Ultimate Workout Hack

The gym is where celebrity trainer Kirsty Godso starts to have fun. The fitness pro, who counts It-girls like Kaia Gerber, Hailey Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, Charli XCX, and Ayo Edebiri as clients, sat down with ET at the A Day in the Life at Vuori event in Carlsbad, California, on Nov. 17 to share what goes into her sweat sessions.

But before you even pick up a dumbbell, Godso says the ultimate warm up starts in your closet.

“How you feel in your clothes is so important when you’re going into a workout because if you feel uncomfortable, that’s an energy and emotion you’re carrying with you into everything,” she explains.

Her current style muse: Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, inspired by Gerber’s recent collaboration with the activewear brand.

“Kaia came into the gym in a Lara Croft look with a baby tee and micro biker shorts and I was obsessed. … Vuori’s baby tees are not to be slept on, and I love the low-rise mini shorts because women tend to be insecure about wearing shorts in general, so making this style was a bold decision, but they have flown off the shelves. It’s empowering to see women own their bodies,” she notes.

And the confidence you get from looking the part translates directly into your workout.

“It’s great that Kaia can work hard in the gym, but she can do it in double layered camis and shorts instead of typical performance looking wear,” Godso adds.

As for what the model’s routine entails? It’s safe to say Croft would approve.

“Kaia is so fit, competitive, coordinated, and driven. … The bulk of our sessions is about strength training, then we add in spicy, athletic style mat Pilates for lengthening and stability, and finish with calculated cardio. … She sprints so fast on a curved treadmill and lifts heavy weights.”

Of course, the trainer also keeps things fun with her upbeat and playful coaching style.

“I’m very energetic, intuitive, and have a funny sense of humor. I love to work out, but I’m not going to push that on you in a cringe way. … It’s the perfect amount of drill sergeant meets cheerleader. I love to hold people accountable and lift them up at the same time. I want everyone to feel good in their bodies,” the New Zealand native shares.

Godso brings that same vibe to her digital platform, Pyro.

Kirsty Godso/Instagram

“What I love about Pyro is that it has a gym component and a studio component with over 100 classes. … You can go into a program, which will guide you into doing various modalities, or choose to do à la carte.”

And regardless of Godso’s exercise regimen, she’s sure to show up in chic athleisure wear.

“I’m always in sport mode, not only for my job, but in my personal style too. It’s elevated casual mixed with tomboy, and lately, I’m leaning into my femininity. … I’ve been living in Vuori’s wide leg sweats and hoodies, but I’ll put a halter on underneath. I love that I can do both.”

Gastroenterologist Dr Wendi suggests lifting your legs for 5 minutes to relieve hemorrhoid pain, as it decompresses veins and enhances blood flow back to heart.

Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in your anal canal and are commonly exacerbated by increased pressure from straining, prolonged sitting, and pregnancy. While some hemorrhoids can go away on their own in some cases, others have to be treated by doctors.

But what if there were a simple way to relieve pain from hemorrhoids when they are flaring? In a post shared on August 18, Dr Wendi, a Stanford and UCLA-trained gastroenterologist, shared a simple hack to be pain-free. Let’s find out what it is:

How to relieve hemorrhoids in 5 minutes?

The gastroenterologist revealed that lifting your legs for 5 minutes can be a quick hack to be pain-free when your hemorrhoids are flaring. In the video, titled ‘When you learn that lying like this for 5 minutes can help relieve hemorrhoids that are flaring’, Dr Wendi can be seen lying on a sofa with her legs raised in the air, with her heels placed on the wall for support.

How does this help? According to the gastroenterologist, lifting your hips helps decompress the veins and encourages blood flow back to the heart using gravity. Here’s how to do it:

All you need to know about hemorrhoids

According to data shared by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), hemorrhoid disease is the fourth leading gastrointestinal diagnosis, accounting for 3.3 million cases in the United States. Meanwhile, the self-reported incidences of hemorrhoids is 10 million per year, which is approximately 4.4 percent of the population.

Meanwhile, in India, it has been projected that about 50 percent of the population would have hemorrhoids at some point in their life, probably by the time they reach the age of 50, and approximately 5 percent of the population suffer from haemorrhoids at any given point in time.

AIIMS gastroenterologist shares hack ‘to turn eggs into an anti-inflammatory powerhouse’: Check his full recipe

by jummy84 September 29, 2025

Eggs are one of nature’s protein-packed gifts: they’re delicious, cheap, and versatile. If you love eggs, then there are a few things that could be better than a perfectly cooked egg, making them a healthy option for breakfast and beyond. But do you usually eat eggs plain, or do you try adding anti-inflammatory ingredients? Also read | AIIMS gastroenterologist ranks popular breakfasts for gut health on a scale of 1 to 10: Upma, overnight oats, granola

Incorporate anti-inflammatory ingredients into eggs to make them healthier. Here’s what Dr Saurabh Sethi suggested. (Freepik)

Gut-friendly, anti-inflammatory eggs recipe

In a September 28 Instagram post, Dr Saurabh Sethi, a gastroenterologist trained at AIIMS, Harvard, and Stanford Universities, said, “Most people think eggs are just protein. But as a gastroenterologist, here is how I turned them into a gut-friendly, anti-inflammatory powerhouse in 5 steps.” He added, “Save this recipe, try it out, and don’t forget to share with your family and friends.”

Here’s what he recommends:

Step 1

Dr Sethi said, “First, crack in two whole eggs. For most people, up to two yolks a day is perfectly fine. The cholesterol scare around eggs is outdated science.”

Step 2

“Add a pinch of turmeric for anti-inflammatory power and black pepper to activate it. That combo is my secret gut-friendly hack,” Dr Sethi said.

Step 3

He added: “Don’t forget salt, but keep it light.”

Step 4

“Load your eggs with veggies. Tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and even olives. (0:41) This adds fibre, antioxidants, and healthy fats that your gut microbes love,” Dr Sethi said.

Step 5

He concluded, “Cook them gently. Scrambled, omelette, however you like. Avoid drowning them in oil. Let the ingredients shine.”

The Hack producer on why he isn’t expecting another Mr Bates response

In comparison, the phone-hacking scandal is one that many people will have some awareness of, having been the subject of a large volume of mainstream media reports as well as the Leveson Inquiry.

Yet even The Hack screenwriter Jack Thorne confessed to not understanding the true meaning of the story until setting out to write this dramatisation, which stars David Tennant, Robert Carlyle and Mr Bates himself, Toby Jones.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com at The Hack’s launch event, producer Spence candidly said: “You can’t hope for another event like Mr Bates.

“Mr Bates was a coming together of many different factors, and also it was about ordinary working people being treated abhorrently,” he continued.

David Tennant and Robert Carlyle star in The Hack ITV

He added: “I think that’s an easier thing for people to tap into emotionally than what this is, which is a story of corporate and personal abuse of power and the courage it takes to investigate and stand up against that.”

Spence conceded that while he doesn’t expect The Hack “to make the entire country angry” as Mr Bates vs The Post Office did, he and his team can’t deny that they “still dream a little of it”.

Still, he reflected: “You can’t ask for the performance of Mr Bates to be repeated.”

At a Q&A following a screening of the first two episodes, The Hack writer Thorne shared that his perception of the phone-hacking scandal – and its importance – changed fundamentally after researching the details for his scripts.

“My assumption was that the drama was in the journalists behaving badly, whereas actually, it’s in the response of the world to this story being broken by these brave people,” he explained.

“I don’t think it was a complicity – I don’t think there’s anything as structured as complicity involved in this – but there was a complacency [from journalists and politicians].”

He added: “There was a complacency in how people were prepared to look at themselves and look at their relationships. And trying to understand that felt like a very urgent task, and one that I was very, very keen to be involved in.”

The Hack premieres on ITV1 and ITVX on Wednesday 24th September 2025.

Upgrade your chia water: NHS surgeon reveals a smart hack to make chia seeds even healthier

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Chia seeds have taken the wellness world by storm, with health influencers everywhere urging people to drink chia water for hydration and nutrients. But what if there’s an even smarter way to enjoy these tiny superseeds?

NHS surgeon Dr Karan Rajan suggests a smarter way to consume chia seeds, instead of just soaking them in water. Find out more below!(Unsplash)

Dr Karan Rajan, a UK-based NHS surgeon and health content creator, has revealed the benefits of combining chia seeds with yoghurt – and he claims that it is even better than chia water! In an Instagram video posted on August 13, the surgeon discusses the synergistic health benefits of consuming chia seeds mixed with yogurt rather than water, explaining how the nutrients form a natural symbiotic cycle within the body, helping with absorption, while keeping you full for long durations.

Prebiotics and probiotics

Yoghurt contains live bacterial cultures such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria. Combining yoghurt with chia seeds facilitates a “natural symbiotic effect,” since soluble fibres and mucilage present in chia act as prebiotics for the bacteria in yoghurt. Dr Rajan explains, “Probiotics in the yoghurt have a ready snack to ferment, which can improve short- chain fatty acid production,” which he terms as the “gold dust” for your health.

Nutrient absorption

The nutrients in yoghurt work in a natural synergy with the nutrients in chia seeds, improving their absorption. Dr Rajan states, “the calcium, vitamin D, and fat in the yogurt enhances the absorption of fat soluble compounds in the chia, namely ALA omega-3 fatty acids.”

Appetite regulation

Dr Rajan mentions that appetite regulation is one of the biggest benefits of consuming more fibres. He explains, “When you combine fibre from the chia seeds, and protein and fat from the yoghurt, you get even more satiety signals and even more stimulation of natural fullness hormones like GLP-1, cholecystokinin, PYY, etc.” This helps you feel satiated for longer durations as compared to chia water.

Slower fermentation

Unlike chia water, which can hydrate quickly and ferment too early in the colon – sometimes causing gas – fibres from chia mixed with dairy proteins and peptides from yoghurt undergo a slower, more balanced fermentation process. According to Dr Rajan, “This leads to a wider range of short-chain fatty acids which are produced, like butyrate and propionate,” as compared to chia water, which produces a narrower range of SCFAs due to its early fermentation.

The Hack producer on why phone-hacking scandal is “even more relevant” today

by jummy84 September 20, 2025

Their work appears to be separate at first, concerning tabloid misbehaviour on one side and a still-unsolved murder on the other, but connective tissue becomes apparent as the story gradually unfolds.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com at the launch of the series, Williams (who also worked on Mr Bates vs The Post Office) acknowledged that the technology involved might seem antiquated now – but the core themes remain urgently current.

“Even though it’s set only about 12 years ago, part of it is to do with the hacking of voicemails, which feels quite analogue now,” he began.

“But I think, at the same time, it will hopefully remind people of how much they’re sharing with the item in their pocket and with bits of technology. And, of course, that’s even more the case now. It’s even more relevant.

“We’re sharing more and more stuff than people would have shared in their voicemails back then.”

While concerns over privacy have only grown since the practice of phone-hacking was stamped out, owing partly to the rise of big tech and online tracking, The Hack writer Jack Thorne thinks further probing of the scandal is required.

“[This story] hasn’t been given the opportunity to be investigated properly. Leveson was supposed to be in two parts… and Leveson 2 was supposed to be looking into criminality,” he said at a post-screening Q&A for The Hack.

Steve Pemberton as Rupert Murdoch and Jordan Renzo as James Murdoch in The Hack. ITV Studios / Stan

“It’s supposed to be looking into these relationships that were so problematic, and that inquiry was denied by the Conservative government. And then Labour said one of the things they were going to do is Leveson 2, and now they’ve shelved it.”

He concluded: “We need this painful itch properly scratched so that we can move on from it. Because it was extraordinary, and what it means about our institutions, about the country we live in… it really matters to look at it and look at it properly.”

The Hack features a starry ensemble cast, including Steve Pemberton (Inside No. 9), Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs The Post Office), Rose Leslie (Vigil) and Eve Myles (Coldwater), among others.

The Hack premieres on ITV1 and ITVX on Wednesday 24th September 2025.

Kate Middleton’s 13-Second Bun Hack Should Be Taught in Schools

Kate Middleton’s 13-Second Bun Hack Should Be Taught in Schools

by jummy84 September 13, 2025
written by jummy84

I’ll admit it: I’m jealous of Kate Middleton and everyone who’s mastered this bun hack.

On September 11 the Princess of Wales visited the Marina Mill in the UK’s Kent County to tour the family-run silk weaving company and “celebrate the unique skill, creativity, and craftsmanship of British textile manufacturers,” per Kensington Palace. Though she arrived at the facility in a chic gray suit and black heels, she shook off her blazer when it was time to roll up her sleeves and try her hand at screen printing.

Of course, Middleton didn’t literally roll up her sleeves, as she was wearing a short-sleeved black knit top under her suit jacket, nor was she carrying a hair tie on her wrist when she wanted to secure her cascading loose curls away from of her face. I have a hunch that would break some sort of royal protocol, though I cannot confirm which one.

So, what did she do? Based on a video shared by Hello Magazine, the princess took a few seconds to simply gather her hair into a low ponytail and tie it into a knot. More specifically, she seems to twist the ponytail up and around before pushing it through the gap and pulling until the knot is secure, resulting in an unfussy low bun.

I’m sorry, what did I just watch? Though some Instagram commenters claim “most women can do this,” I assure you I’m not one of them. In fact, as someone with Rachel-inspired layers that have never reached too far past my shoulders, I wasn’t even aware that was something a person could do. Personally, if I need to put my hair in a bun, it requires at least one hair tie and a minimum of five bobby pins to secure all the pieces that stick out like I’m Lizzie McGuire.

The Coat-Is-the-Outfit Styling Hack for Fall 2025

by jummy84 September 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Fall hasn’t officially started, but if you’re already craving easy outfits, there’s a styling trick that will have you dressed in under five minutes and looking chic. The hack is using a long coat or jacket as the outfit.

In the past week, fashion people in Paris, Copenhagen, and NYC have been transitioning their wardrobes from summer to fall, giving us a taste of what to expect for the season ahead. While they all have different styles, a majority of them have been relying on sophisticated coats or jackets to do all the heavy lifting. An example of this was last week when Ashley Olsen attended the YES Scholars Gala in L.A. For the occasion, she wore a beige car coat that was buttoned to the top and patent-leather pointed-toe shoes. While we’re not sure what she wore underneath, it doesn’t actually matter because her coat was the outfit.

On the opposite coast, in NYC, Laura Reilly, the founder of Magasin, visited Khaite’s flagship store in SoHo showcasing a long black wool coat with a row of beautiful silver buttons. She paired it with black leather boots and a white top, proving that all it takes is a beautiful coat to make an outfit appear like you hired a stylist.

Laura wears a long black coat.

Besides simplifying the process of getting dressed, what insiders love about this hack is that the jacket or coat doesn’t need to have a bold print, bright color, or a designer price tag. What matters is that the outerwear maintains its value and beauty, keeping you coming back for more. So when shopping for a new coat this season, choose one made with a high-quality fabric, a timeless silhouette, and fresh details. That said, keep scrolling to shop a carefully selected edit of outerwear pieces that will transform everything they touch. Plus, discover more ways fashion people are making their coats the outfit.
