The Love Story hitmaker believes she has the skills to work as a secret agent and thinks she’s particularly good at moving around without being detected because she has had plenty of experience in her life.

In her upcoming appearance on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, host Scott Mills said: “Gloria Estefan was once asked by the CIA to become a spy. Have you ever been asked because you’d be a great spy. Think about all the secrets you have to keep.”

Taylor – who infamously hid in a cleaning cart to be transported to the stage on her Eras tour – quipped: “Yeah, but that’s classified, unfortunately.”

Discussing which aspects of being a spy she’d be good at, she added: “Oh God, I think the entering and exiting buildings without being seen.

“Just put me in a garbage can and roll me. I don’t care honestly no…I can fit in like a purse…

“Look here’s the thing sometimes. I just can’t deal with it. Yeah, and in those times I won’t deal with it. So yeah, I’m just digging tunnels under every building I go into. Airlifting in through the skylight.”

The 35-year-old pop star confirmed she warns friends if they are mentioned in her songs before the tracks are made public.

She said: “If they’re real people, yeah. Yeah, if they’re real people. And like if it’s like Elizabeth Taylor, we go to their family and her estate and let them know and they were lovely about it.”

Asked if she had to call any pals before releasing her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, she said: “Yeah, there’s, I mean, one of my best friends from high school, my best friend from high school, but one of my best friends in my whole world, Abigail, we met when we were 14 years old, and there’s a line in the song Ruin the Friendship that says ‘Abigail called me with the bad news’.

“And so I had to like, you know, tell her, ’cause she’s been mentioned in songs before, there’s a song called Fifteen and she’s mentioned in it, but I obviously want to tell her.”

Great Yorkshire Events Centre Boss elected to AEV Board

The events director of The Great Yorkshire Events Centre in Harrogate has been elected to the board of the Association of Event Venues (AEV).

Richard Moorhouse, Events Director, has joined the AEV Board for the first time.

The GYEC has long been a member of the AEV, a trade body representing venues both in the UK and internationally.

Richard said: “The Great Yorkshire Events Centre has benefitted hugely from membership of the AEV through the working groups, sharing of best practice, networking and attending the brilliant annual conference. I am honoured to have been elected to the Board and excited to bring my experience, ready to champion all member venues and help shape the future of the industry.”   

Richard is Events Director at the GYEC on the Great Yorkshire Showground which runs The Halls and The Pavilions, both owned by registered charity the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.

As well as running events including award dinners, weddings, conferences and trade shows throughout the year, the Showground also hosts events on its 250 acre site including its flagship event the Great Yorkshire Show. It has recently announced being used as a filming location for scenes in Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale.

Richard said: “It’s been an exciting year for the showground with a rebrand earlier this year and a raft of new events signed for 2026. Working with directors from other key events venues in the UK will continue to put the GYEC at the forefront of the industry and ensure we continue to fly the flag nationally.” 

Following AEV’s AGM last week, Rachel Parker, AEV CEO, said, “I am delighted to welcome Richard to the board this year and am sure he will have plenty to bring to the table. I am looking forward to another productive year, starting with our annual conference being held on Friday 14 November at Excel London.”

Actor-director Anupam Kher’s film Tanvi The Great, is set to return to cinemas this month. A moving yet joyful celebration of courage, inclusivity, and family, the film comes back as a rare entertainer that audiences can enjoy together across generations.

Starring debutant Shubhangi Dutt, the film was first released in July this year. It touched hearts across the country and was specially screened for national leaders, including the Hon’ble President of India Smt. Draupadi Murmu, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and state Chief Ministers. Tanvi The Great earned immense respect for its unique story and stirring performances.

It will now return to cinemas on September 26.

At its heart lies the inspiring journey of Tanvi Raina, a spirited young girl with autism who discovers her late Army father’s unfulfilled dream to salute the flag at the Siachen Glacier. Determined to fulfill it, she embarks on a life-changing mission that blends laughter, innocence, and resilience.

Anupam Kher shared, “This film is not just about patriotism—it is about love, family, and second chances. It was overwhelming to see the admiration it received, but I believe its true destiny is to be experienced by families together in cinemas.”

Veteran actor Jackie Shroff, who plays an important role in the film added, “Some stories make you laugh, cry, and dream at once.
