Actor and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow always serves up authenticity. A little more than a month after she shared an oh-so-real snap of her skin to promote her latest fashion endeavor, goop’s new fashion line named Gwyn, she’s now sitting front row at Vogue World 2025: Hollywood and sharing another bit of beauty realism: Gray hair.

Going gray—and aging in general—has always been a point of contention in society. But Paltrow joins a contingent of high-profile women (including Sarah Jessica Parker and Andie MacDowell) who are embracing their hair through techniques like herringbone highlights and gray blending. “As women, we want to be healthy, we want to be aging—this idea that we’re supposed to be frozen in time is so weird,” Paltrow has previously said.
But the actor turned wellness and lifestyle guru is bucking the norm—first, with that photo that shared skin texture and expression lines, and now by showing, not hiding, her grays. It’s especially poignant as she returns to acting with a forthcoming role in Marty Supreme, which comes out on Christmas Day. “It’s handsome to go gray [as a man], but for women, it’s like, ‘What do you plan to do about your wrinkles and your aging skin?’” Paltrow continued. “Every woman should do it how they want to do it.” Many are finding it empowering to join ranks—or at least think about it. Myself included.
