Here’s Why Weight Of The Uniform Will Redefine His Career In All Its Glory! [Opinion]

Border 2 Is All Set To Redefine Varun Dhawan’s Career!(Photo Credit –Instagram)

It was almost 13 years ago that Hindi Cinema got a commercial powerhouse when Varun Dhawan arrived on the screen! With Salman Khan’s epic charisma and Govinda’s hilarious comic timing, he was called a lethal combo! He made his presence felt instantly and turned the audience’s man for the masala flicks!

But then he suddenly surprised everyone, shedding his boy next door image in Badlapur, turning into a man brooding for revenge. But despite this boy-to-man transformation, which was successful at the box office as well, Varun’s artistic journey lacked something – probably the discipline of the Uniform!

Varun Dhawan’s Border 2 Transformation

Some films define an actor’s career by their box office dominance; others redefine the actor himself by marking a crucial shift in his artistic journey. Border 2 feels like the latter for Varun Dhawan. After a decade of romantic comedies and mass entertainers, VD stands at a crossroads, and he is ready to take the road not taken!

Varun Dhawan Bears The Weight Of The Uniform

For an actor known for his dapper personality and loud charm, stepping into the disciplined and necessary silence of a soldier demands an entirely new vocabulary of performance. Varun’s first look from Border 2 proves that he is shedding the loudness and embracing the quiet intensity – a sense of rawness for his role!

Redefining His Career One Frame A Time!

Border 2 seems like Varun Dhawan‘s significant shift in ambition. He has proved he can pull a debut with Student Of The Year, he can pull a franchise with the Dulhania series, he can pull seriousness as he did in October, he can pull rawness and intensity as he did in Badlapur, basically, he can pull the box office. But Border 2 might be his internal shift, not as a star but as an actor who wears the Uniform as a mark of respect! He gets ready to shoulder the heavy, complex emotions of national duty and sacrifice.

This is the transition of a star into an actor of substance. Eagerly waiting for Varun Dhawan to redefine his own identity on the big screen with Border 2!

Oasis: (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) Album Review

You might have heard, but Britpop’s greatest group returned this year in a blaze of summer-dominating, triumphal glory. Plus, easily missed, Oasis got back together, too.

Odd as it is to say now, Live ’25 wasn’t a nailed-on success. Questions swirled: Would the irascible brothers keep their egos and fratricidal instincts in check? Could they swerve notoriety for playing so slowly that the life drains out of even the most committed loyalist? Any chance the setlist might show proof of their existence past 2002? (Yes, yes, no.) Demand for the tour was insane, some 14 million trying for the UK dates alone, a nearly 600 percent leap on 1996’s immortalised pair of Knebworth shows.

Once the ticker tape from the opener in Cardiff confirmed that they were not just in decent form, but had actually exceeded all expectations, a funny kind of tremor swept Anglophiles the world over, like the aftershock of a bliss nuke. With tabloids and legacy music media fixated on tracking the brothers’ every move, even a brief pat on the back sent people doollally. Out went strappy tops and cigs, in came bucket hats and more cigs, as Planet Gallagher blotted out the sun. And lo, just in case you thought they hadn’t raked in enough cash already, here arrives the 30th anniversary edition of (What’s the Story?) Morning Glory, a reissue of a reissue of a reissue. You may not like it, but this is what Peak Oasis looks like.

As the world’s most ardent proponents of Lennonism, the only comparison Liam and Noel will brook these days is against their idols. So let’s begin there. Socially, in 2025, Oasis are bigger than the Beatles. Chalk it up to heavy competition in the ’60s, or a total collapse of aesthetic progression since the ’90s, but you can only tackle the void in front of you, and Oasis did so with brutal efficiency. If you cup your ear today to the ballad of the pub man, you won’t find gents in collarless grey suits harmonizing “Day Tripper” at closing time. What you will find, however, is middle-aged men greying around the temples and young lovers with live forever inked in cursive on their calves, arm in arm, belting one of modern rock’n’roll’s universal standards: “Champagne Supernova,” “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” or, plausibly, all of the above.

Oasis Box Up ‘Morning Glory’ Singles, ‘Wonderwall’ Turns 30

by jummy84 October 30, 2025
written by jummy84

In honor of the 30th anniversary today (Oct. 30) of Oasis’ era-defining “Wonderwall,” the group has announced a Dec. 12 release date for a (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? seven-inch singles boxed set, which replicates a 1996 CD collection of the same material housed in a cigarette-style box. A similar collection for singles from the band’s 1994 debut, Definitely Maybe, was released last year.

The Morning Glory box will include 2014 remastered versions of “Wonderwall,” “Some Might Say,” “Roll With It” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” all paired with their original respective b-sides “Round Are Way,” “Talk Tonight,” “It’s Better People” and “Step Out.”

As SPIN surmised in a 2015 feature ranking the 95 best alternative rock songs of 1995, “Wonderwall” is “a love song that never actually talks about romance, in a way that leaves it applicable to a lover, a friend, or — naturally — a sibling, unifying all of us under four capo’d acoustic chords, expertly deployed strings and the most distinctive Mancunian accent in rock history. In era where American rock was dominated by self-doubt and dread, its message of assurance — even a hesitant one, from far away — was bold enough to survive in the public consciousness long enough to see a time in which resigned angst was no longer the dominant mode of cultural expression.”

“I knew with that song and the momentum the band had actually built up, that we were going to sell a lot of records,” Creation Records founder Alan McGee told SPIN in 2020 about his first impressions of the song. “But I even got that wrong. I actually thought when I heard ‘Wonderwall,’ god, we’re gonna sell 10 million, and we sold 23 million. I got it wrong.”

Morning Glory was itself reissued earlier this year in a 30th anniversary deluxe edition, featuring new acoustic versions of several classic tracks. Oasis’ 2020 live album, Familiar to Millions, will also be back in the marketplace on Nov. 14 in a variety of exclusive vinyl formats.

The Noel- and Liam Gallagher-led band is winding down its massively successful reunion tour over the next several weeks in Australia and South America. The group performs tomorrow (Oct. 31) for the first of three sold-out shows at Melbourne’s 53,000-capacity Marvel Stadium.

America Ferrera thinks her daughter will “love” Ugly Betty.

America Ferrera starred in the hit TV series

The 41-year-old actress played Betty Suarez in the ABC comedy-drama series between 2006 and 2010, and America is convinced that her daughter will come to love the hit TV show one day.

America – who has Lucia, five, with her husband Ryan Piers Williams – told E! News: “My daughter is really into clothes and fashion. I’m really excited for when she’s old enough to really take in the glory of Betty. I think she’ll love it.”

America – who has been married to Ryan since 2011 – confessed that Lucia already has “very particular tastes” and she’s yet to see a single minute of the TV show.

Meanwhile, America admitted in 2023 that she has a “deep desire” to return to Ugly Betty.

The actress revealed that she would reprise the role “in a heartbeat”.

Asked about the possibility of reviving the character, America told Entertainment Tonight: “I think there has been like a deep desire there for a long time because our Ugly Betty family is so close and so we love each other so much.

“I think we’d all come back in a heartbeat.”

On the other hand, America acknowledged that it “takes a lot of work to get a thing off the ground”.

The actress added: “Maybe we’ll figure it out.”

America has achieved lots of success during her career, but she remains extremely fond of her most-famous on-screen character.

The award-winning star – who also starred in the Barbie movie earlier this year – said: “Betty is my heart. I would be thrilled [to play her again].”

Prior to that, Salma Hayek – the show’s executive producer – took to social media to thank fans for their continued love for the hit TV show.

The actress also heaped praise on America and the show’s “great cast”.

Alongside some throwback photos of herself and America, Salma wrote on Instagram: “I am so excited that a new generation is discovering Ugly Betty. This series is very close to our hearts at Ventanarosa because we produced it 17 years ago. It was groundbreaking at its time and has remained relevant throughout all these years. America, I’m so proud of all your accomplishments; we couldn’t have done it without such a great cast. (sic)”

Prince William misses ‘glory days’ of search-and-rescue pilot

Prince William misses the “glory days” of being a search-and-rescue pilot.

Prince William misses his RAF days

The Prince of Wales served with the RAF from 2009 until 2013 before flying with the East Anglian Air Ambulance from March 2015 until July 2017 and at a joint engagement with his “dear friend” and fellow helicopter pilot the Crown Prince of Jordan, Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire on Wednesday (15.10.25), William looked back on his military days with great fondness.

According to the Daily Telegraph, he said: “I left and went straight into the Air Ambulance afterwards and did three years or so there and… it sort of merged into one big flying trip. I miss the search and rescue days, the glory days.”

The prince told how he loved hearing the sound of the Sea King helicopter flying during US Premident Donald Trump’s state visit last month.

He added: “Seven aircraft were flying over and Sea King comes in and I was like ‘there she is’ – that noise went straight to my heart, it was a great sound.”

The 43-year-old royal still enjoys flying when he can and admitted piloting an aircraft is his “happy place”.

Asked whether he still flies, he said: “I do still fly – I keep my hours going because, when you learn that skill set, you just don’t want it to go. I’ve definitely lost a lot of the skills Ι had, but I like to just keep on top of flying and keep doing it. It’s my happy place when I’m flying.”

During their visit, the princes met trainee aircrew and staff from No. 28 (AC) Sqn and No. 22 Sqn – with whom William served during his time at RAF Valley in Anglesey, North Wales – and heled engineers work on the main rotorhead of a Chinook aircraft, with the British prince joking someone would come along to “check” his counterpart’s work.

They then attended a private meeting with RAF personnel.

The two princes flew to the engagement by helicopter from Windsor Castle, with Kensington Palace stating it highlighted their “strong relationship” and mutual respect for the Armed Forces.

Squid Game’s global icon Lee Jung-jae has become the first Korean to be honored with the coveted Chaplin Award Asia. The Charlie Chaplin Foundation bestowed the honor on Lee in recognition of his influential role in Asian cinema and his incredible 30-year acting career.

Lee became an international sensation with his Emmy-winning performance as Seong Gi-hun in Netflix’s Squid Game, a desperate, down-on-his-luck fellow roped into a lethal game of survival. The show was an international phenomenon, shattering streaming records and winning multiple awards, including several Emmys. Lee became the first Asian actor to be awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

Organizers at the award ceremony cited Lee’s “persistent and positive impact on Asian cinema” during the award ceremony. In his acceptance speech, Lee said he was grateful and noted the legacy of Charlie Chaplin: “It’s nerve-wracking and humbling to accept an award in the name of Charlie Chaplin, a great filmmaker, artist, and creative icon. I hope to use this honor to have a positive influence as an Asian filmmaker.

Since its launch in 2018, Chaplin Award Asia has recognized other film legends including Tony Leung, Zhang Yimou, and Brigitte Lin.

Aside from Squid Game, Lee’s filmography boasts memorable performances in award-winning movies like Il Mare (2000), The Housemaid (2010), New World (2013), and Deliver Us from Evil (2020). Hailing as a model, he began acting in the 1990s and is now one of Korea’s most credible actors.

He recently entered Hollywood with a lead role in Star Wars: The Acolyte and is also all set to return to Korean TV in the upcoming tvN drama Nice to Not Meet You.
