‘Evaru ka mama’ Athiya Shetty sits on husband KL Rahul’s lap in unseen pic; gives glimpses of her birthday dinner menu

Athiya Shetty has shared a carousel of pictures as she celebrated her 33rd birthday. Taking to Instagram, Athiya Shetty posted her childhood photos, shared selfies, and pictures clicked with her husband-cricketer KL Rahul.

The first picture had childhood photos of Athiya making goofy poses and smiling. She posted photos of the flowers that she received on her special day. In a photo, Athiya sat on KL Rahul’s lap while he posed sitting on a couch. She held him while he wrapped his arms around her.

A picture showed KL Rahul holding a glass, enjoying his beverage. Athiya gave a peek inside the menu of her birthday dinner. The list included mushrooms, tuna and lamb among other dishes. She posed for a selfie in a pink shirt dress. The last picture showed Athiya’s birthday cake on which “happy burday Evaru ka mama” was written.

Sharing the pictures, Athiya captioned the post, “Birthday things! (pink heart, flower bouquet and sparkles emojis) Thank you for the love and wishes… so grateful (folded hand emoji).” Reacting to the post, Samantha Ruth Prabhu wrote, “Happy Birthday stunner.” Sonakshi Sinha said, “Happy Birthday, baby doll.”

On Athiya’s birthday, KL Rahul shared a bunch of photos on Instagram. He had captioned the post, “Happy birthday to my best friend, wifey, lover, stress ball, goofball (two hearts emoji). I love you more each passing year (red heart and hug face emojis) @athiyashetty.” Athiya commented, “The storm to your calm. Love you.”

About Athiya

Athiya got married to KL Rahul on January 23, 2023, in an intimate ceremony at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala. The couple later announced their pregnancy in November 2024 through an Instagram post and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Evaarah, in March.

Athiya made her acting debut in 2015 with Hero. Later, she was featured in films such as Mubarakan and Motichoor Chaknachoor. She has been away from the film industry for some time.

On the professional front, Sonam has earned acclaim for her performances in films like Neerja, Raanjhanaa, Veere Di Wedding, and Delhi 6. After welcoming her son, she took a break from acting to focus on her family. Her latest appearance was in the 2023 crime thriller Blind, directed by Shome Makhija. It featured Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey. The film is a remake of the 2011 Korean movie of the same name. The story follows a visually impaired police officer searching for a serial killer.
Looking ahead, Sonam is reportedly set to star in Battle of Bittora. It is based on Anuja Chauhan’s 2010 novel. The story centres on two young politicians who fall in love but end up competing against each other in elections. The project will be produced by Anil Kapoor Films in collaboration with Communication Network.

Homi Adajania Shares New Glimpses From The Much-awaited Cocktail 2

The buzz around Cocktail 2 is only growing louder! Director Homi Adajania, who helmed the cult 2012 hit Cocktail, has been teasing fans with behind-the-scenes moments from the sets of the sequel. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, and the latest batch of pictures has further fuelled audience excitement.

Recently, Homi took to Instagram to share fresh photos of the trio from an international shoot schedule. Kriti Sanon, who just wrapped Tere Ishq Mein alongside Dhanush, looked every bit stylish in her new avatar. Rashmika Mandanna, fresh off Kuberaa, also shared her look, while Shahid Kapoor gave fans a sneak peek with a selfie captioned “New Beginnings!!! Cocktail 2.”

Adding to the curiosity, Homi dropped a monochrome portrait of Kriti with a sticker reading “Work in Progress,” confirming her as the female lead. Kriti reshared the post and wrote, “This is gonna be a liberating journey…I can feel it..” Her words hint at a layered role, much like Deepika Padukone’s iconic turn in the original.

The sequel is backed by Maddock Films and written by Luv Ranjan. While the storyline is still under wraps, the film is slated for a theatrical release in the latter half of 2026. Interestingly, stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania also gave fans a peek at the script, only adding to the intrigue.

For context, the original Cocktail (2012) starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. The film redefined modern romance in Bollywood, celebrated friendship, and gifted audiences chart-topping tracks like Tumhi Ho Bandhu. Most importantly, it showcased Deepika in a bold, career-defining performance. With Cocktail 2, expectations are sky-high as a new trio takes the legacy forward.
