Janhvi Kapoor, who wowed audiences with her performance in Param Sundari, is now stepping into the spotlight once again with her upcoming romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Slated for a theatrical release on October 2, the film is already generating significant buzz among fans. Adding to the excitement is Janhvi’s impeccable style, which she has been flaunting during the promotional run.

Janhvi was seen at the Mumbai airport on Thursday, apparently returning from the promotional tour of the film. As ever, her airport style made eyes roll. The actress went for a chic all-black look that balanced comfort with elegance. Wearing a black button-down shirt and black fitted trousers, she made a snazzy monochrome outfit that was chic and ready to travel at the same time.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari features Janhvi alongside Varun Dhawan in prominent roles. The movie traces the lives of Sunny (played by Varun) and Tulsi (played by Janhvi) as they try to tackle complex relationships with their past flames, played by Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf. The movie guarantees a blend of romance, comedy, and emotional drama all coated in a quirky and offbeat script.

Supporting acts from Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi are likely to lend extra humor and complexity to the narrative, making it one of the most hotly awaited releases of the year. The combination of new pairing, interesting plot, and cast in the film has already gained the audience’s attention.

Apart from this, Janhvi Kapoor will also leave us awestruck with Homebound, a Dharma Productions produced film directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. A 2020 New York Times article by Basharat Peer is the source material for the film, starring Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa along with it, with Reem Shaikh, Harshika Parmar, and Shalini Vatsa providing supporting acts.

Even before he grew up to become Indian cinema’s iconic showman Raj Kapoor, the adolescence of Raj was one of rebellion and restlessness. Raj, as an inquisitive and reckless teenager, troubled his father, the great Prithviraj Kapoor, with his interests in the city’s red-light district and his lack of interest in studies. It was a period that tried the patience of his father, who was lost himself about how to punish or counsel his son.

It was at this pivotal point that director Kidar Sharma entered Raj’s life as mentor and guardian. In a candid ancient interview with Prasar Bharti, Sharma described how he came to be involved with Raj for the first time. “Prithviraj Kapoor, my friend, was greatly disturbed with his son. He said to me, ‘My son has reached his teens, and he wants to learn everything about birds and bees.”. He has dropped studies, and he’s getting very uncontrollable. I can’t raise my hand on him, I don’t know what to do.’ I said to him, ‘Leave the boy with me; I will put him in order like a schoolmaster.’

Raj Kapoor joined Sharma’s film crew as a third assistant, a job that consisted of doing menial things such as carrying the clapboard. But even in that minor role, his vanity was evident. Sharma remembered how often Raj would pick up the camera lens and use it as a mirror rather than working. Sharma finally lost his cool after being warned several times and slapped Raj on the face. “My Punjabi blood was boiling,” he said. To Sharma’s surprise, Raj didn’t fight back or flee — he smiled and walked away.

The very next day, Sharma noticed something in Raj that made him turn around. Seeing the boy’s actual talent was in acting and not behind the camera, Sharma proposed to give the lead role to him in Neel Kamal. He even advanced Raj ₹5,000. Overwhelmed with the gesture, Raj cried and said to Sharma, “Don’t you know, kindness hurts most? Why are you being so kind to me? I am useless, I will spoil your film and you.”

Sharma pacified him and inquired whom he desired as his heroine. Raj whispered to him that he desired a beautiful one — namely, the young daughter of a Pathaan — Madhubala. Although only 13 at the time, she was taken on, and the beginning of a cinematic timelessness was created.

Following the success of her 2024 comedy-drama Crew, Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to return in its sequel. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Crew 2 has been officially confirmed and is currently in development. Kareena, who played an air hostess entangled in a gold-smuggling scheme, has expressed strong interest in reprising her role.

A source close to the project revealed, “Crew has strong potential to evolve into a franchise. The team has brainstormed several ideas and has now locked one that naturally lends itself to Crew 2.” Kareena is reportedly waiting for the final screenplay before signing on, though she’s already shown keen interest in returning.

While Kareena’s comeback is confirmed, the involvement of her co-stars Kriti Sanon and Tabu remains uncertain. The makers are reportedly considering casting new A-list actresses if the original stars choose not to return. “The idea is to continue the franchise with three A-list actresses. Kareena is locked in, and other casting decisions are currently under wraps,” the source added.

Daayra promises a deep and intense portrayal of societal issues, marking Meghna’s return after Sam Bahadur (2023). Co-written by Meghna, Yash, and Sima, the film is expected to deliver a hard-hitting narrative rooted in realism.
