Rishab Shetty is on top of the world after his new movie, Kantara Chapter 1, was creating a buzz since its release on October 2. As a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara, the movie features Shetty once again in the lead role, this time as the writer and director as well, with critics hailing him for his stellar performance and bold narrative.
To get fully into the character of Berme, a warlike fighter from the village of Kantara at the time of the Kadamba dynasty in Karnataka, Shetty devoted two years to learning the ancient Indian art of Kalaripayattu. Under the tutelage of Vipindas Gurukkal at the hallowed Athma Kalari Village, his path was dotted with demanding discipline, injuries, and rigorous daily practice.
Athma Kalari posted behind-the-scenes looks at his training on Instagram, highlighting Shetty’s makeover. One of the viral shots is of him in mid-stretch in the midst of a brutal session, with the caption:

Another piece of content celebrated his transformation:
