Naag Power! Kartik Aaryan’s Latest Picture From Sets Will Give You Goosebumps | Glamsham.com

Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan has officially begun shooting for his upcoming fantasy adventure Naagzilla. On Saturday, the actor took to Instagram to share the exciting update, posting a cheerful photo of himself holding a clapboard bearing the film’s title and the name of director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. A haldi teeka was visible on the clapboard, hinting that the team performed a traditional puja before commencing the shoot.

In the caption, Kartik revealed a special coincidence — the first day of Naagzilla’s shoot also marked one year since the release of his hit film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He wrote, “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 Day 1 of #Naagzilla Har Har Mahadev

In Naagzilla, Kartik will be seen in a unique avatar as Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an icchadhaari naag (shape-shifting serpent). His first look from the film was unveiled earlier in April, when producer Karan Johar shared a motion poster on social media, writing, “Insaanon wali picturein toh bahut dekh li, ab dekho naagon wali pichchar! #NaagZilla – Naag lok ka pehla kaand… funn phailaane aa raha hai Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand. Naag Panchami par, 14 August 2026!”

Described as a mix of fantasy, folklore, and full-on fun, the film’s plot details are still under wraps. However, insiders suggest that Naagzilla could potentially launch a new franchise depending on its performance. Reports also indicate that Ravi Kishan has joined the cast, though an official announcement is awaited.

The project marks Kartik’s second collaboration with Karan Johar, following Tu Meri Main Tera Tu Meri. With an intriguing storyline, a mythological twist, and Kartik in a never-seen-before role, Naagzilla promises to be one of the most anticipated films of 2026. The movie is slated for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026.

Neurosurgeon with 33 years of experience shares 4 reasons why you should give up the habit of complaining

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Do you crib often? Complaining about little things that don’t go your way. You may think, after all, what’s wrong about blowing off some steam? Whether it is traffic or latest situationship ghosting you, venting it out feels like a release. But going on and keep ranting about them again and again, over time, may make you lean towards pessimism more, and train your brain to stay unhappy.

Change your habit of complaining; otherwise, your perception changes for the worse. (Picture credit: Freepik)

ALSO READ: Neurosurgeon with 33 years of experience explains why you can’t sleep even when tired, shares 4 tips to rest better

Dr Prashant Katakol, a neurosurgeon with over 33 years of experience, shared in an Instagram video, posted on October 30, about why one shouldn’t complain all the time, suggesting reasons based in neuroscience.

1. Rewiring the brain for misery

“When you are complaining, you are rewiring your brain for misery,” Dr Katakol said. Neuroplasticity ensures that every complaint strengthens pessimism in you. Soon, good things stop getting even registered.”

This means when you keep complaining, pushing a tunnel vision on negative things, then your brain starts to get used to it. Neurplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to change and adapt, strengthens those negative thought patterns. Then, over time, it becomes second nature for the brain to spot the problems first, rather than feeling grateful or noticing good things.

2. Flooding body with stress hormones

When you complain, you put your body in a state of stress, activating all the stress hormones. Prolonged state of stress negatively affects both the physiological and psychological systems.

The neurosurgeon stressed,“Number two, you flood your body with stress hormones by complaining. This wrecks your mood, your focus and your immunity.”

In other words, even for trivial matters, when you complain, your body reacts as if you are under threat, releasing cortisol.

3. Starts to see only problems, not possibilities

Complaining all the time gives way to a cynical attitude where you keep expecting the worst outcomes and disasters. Dr Katakol said, “The brain trains itself to see only problems and not possibilities.”

When you regularly complain, the thinking patterns shift. You focus on what’s wrong and internalise a negative perception. Soon, what happens is you stop noticing the solutions, opportunities or silver lining as your entire focus is on the problem: why it happened rather than how it can be solved.

4. Shrinks brain

Turns out it also physically changes the shape of the brain? Dr Katakol added, “Chronic negativity shrinks the hippocampal cortex. The consequences are slower learning, weaker memory and less resilience.”

Solution

What is the way forward? According to the neurosurgeon, one needs to start ‘labelling’ it. “Practice awareness. When you notice yourself complaining, label it out loud, that I am complaining. This single act will drastically reduce your habit. Lesser the complaining, greater is the joy, it is as simple as that,” he said.

This means when one starts complaining, they don’t even realise that they are complaining. Chronic complaining becomes an instinct. But awareness helps you to respond with a more logical approach rather than irritation. Instead of being quick to express frustration, consider calling yourself out, which would help to interrupt the pessimistic loop you may fall into. Instead of getting irritated over it, reconsider if it’s actually worth losing your cool over it.

Emraan Hashmi would give up on his diet for this succulent Delhi staple — recipe inside

by jummy84 October 30, 2025
written by jummy84

The true origins of the butter chicken may be contested enough to turn into a legal slip knot (literally). But for all contemporary practical purposes, the silken, succulent menu favourite has Delhi written all over it, much of the thanks for this going to the untouchable legacies of city hotspots like Gulati, Havemore and Moti Mahal to name a few.

Emraan Hashmi would ghost his diet for Delhi’s butter chicken — Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s recipe (Photos: Instagram, Gulati)

Emraan Hashmi, who was recently in the capital to promote his upcoming film, Haq, also starring Yami Gautam, spilled a little secret. During the audience questions round for Stars In The City with Sonal Kalra, he admitted Delhi’s butter chicken to very much be the dish he’d cheat on his strict diet for.

If you’re looking to give him company in spirit, follow the recipe below.

Butter chicken

Ingredients: Boneless chicken (cut into 1/5 inch pieces) – 400gms, lemon juice – 1tbsp, Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1tsp, salt to taste, butter – 2tbsps; for the marinade — yoghurt 1/2 cup, ginger paste – 2tsps, garlic paste – 2tsps, Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1/2tsp, garam masala powder – 1/2tsp, salt to taste, mustard oil – 2tsps; for the makhni gravy — butter – 2tbps, green cardamoms – 2, cloves – 2, black peppercorns – 2 to 3, cinnamon – 1 inch, ginger paste – 1tsp, garlic paste – 1tsp, tomato puree – 1/2 cup, red chilli powder – 1/2tsp, salt to taste, sugar/honey – 2tbsps, kasoori methi – 1/2tsp, fresh cream – 1/2 cup

Method: Massage the chicken pieces with the lemon juice, chilli powder and salt and refrigerate for half an hour. Hang the curd in a muslin cloth for 10 to 15 minutes as you mix all the ingredients for the marinade. Massage this onto the chicken pieces and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours. Once the meat is done marinating, pre-heat the oven to 200C and pop the pieces onto skewers. Cook this for 10 to 12 minutes followed by a generous basting of butter. Cook for 2 more minutes and take off heat.

For the makhni gravy, heat generous amounts of butter in a non-stick pan. Add all the spices and cook for 2 minutes; then go in with the ginger and garlic pastes and cook for 2 more minutes. Now add the tomato puree, red chilli powder, salt and half a cup of water. Bring this to a boil then drop the heat to a simmer for 10 minutes. Add the sugar or honey with the kasoori methi next, followed by the cooked chicken. Simmer for 5 more minutes then go in with the fresh cream in a generous swirl.

Serve piping hot with stretchy naan.

(recipe from Chef Sanjeev Kapoor)

So who’s still following through on their diet?

Watch Fergie Make Rare Return To Stage to Give Ludacris His Flowers

by jummy84 October 28, 2025

It was just before 9 p.m. Sunday night at Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. Tyler, The Creator, stood on the side of the stage, rapping along word-for-word to one of his favorite MCs as if he were the headliner himself.

Packing the grounds with throngs of devotees was the One Musicfest’s top-billed performer, Ludacris, who rose from local DJ to global fame with hits like ”Money Maker” and ”Southern Hospitality,” and established himself as a top Hollywood draw with the Fast franchise and the Oscar-winning Crash.

As tenured record executive Rich Nice pulled out his phone and started scrolling through Cris’ setlist on his text messages, Tyler tried to sneak a peek.

“When does ‘Move Bi**h’ come on?” Tyler inquired politely. Nice smiled and told him, “Oh, you have a little while before he gets to it.” A few feet away, Busta Rhymes was grinning with pride, elated to see his friend tear the proverbial house down.

Throughout the night, a host of celebrities would join in on an uproarious 25th-anniversary celebration, among them: Jermaine Dupri, Jadakiss, Jeezy, Shawna, I-20, Chingy, Fergie, Usher, and LL Cool J, each giving Cris his flowers as one of hip-hop’s most beloved and talented MCs.

Fergie, whose musical history with Cris goes back to 2007, flew in from Los Angeles, made a rare return to the stage to deliver a one-two punch of hits.

Fergie

Dupri helped Cris kick off the show with “Welcome to Atlanta,” both sporting the Atlanta Braves’ navy blue and red for a crowd that had braved the cold and rain to see the weekend’s headliner.

After “Act a Fool,” Cris went into his bag and dropped one of his biggest signature hits, “Southern Hospitality,” which helped put him on the map in the year 2000.

Later, Cris was assisted on “Area Codes” and his featured rhyme on Ciara’s “Oh” by a collective he called the “Trap Choir,” who hit harmonies and background vocals while he rapped over a band’s live instrumentation.

Chingy, a former signee on Cris’ Disturbing Tha Peace Records, was the next surprise, coming out for “Holidae In” and his mega-hit “Right Thurr.”

Fellow DTP alum Bobby Valentino showed up for “Pimpin’ All Over the World” and “Slow Down,” while Jadakiss and Jeezy brought their street-entrenched lyricism later in the set at separate times.

Cris, who changed to black and yellow colors while Jeezy was holding court with “Put On,” went from heralded hood hierarchy to pop royalty as his show progressed, bringing out “The Dutchess” herself, Fergie — whose only other performance in close to a decade was in 2022 as part of Jack Harlow’s MTV VMAs set.

Fergie appeared to the crowd via a riser housed on a platform where the band played center stage. She began singing “Glamorous,” carefully descending a staircase while Cris held her hand.

“We got Fergie out the muthafu**in’ house! Can y’all please make some noise?” Cris commanded, much to the audience’s delight. “She ain’t perform in over seven years and she came to Atlanta, Georgia!”

Fergie didn’t come all the way from L.A. to perform just one song, Cris cracked. Sure enough, she teased, “They ain’t ready for this,” and dove into “London Bridge (Oh Shit).” That song’s producer and fellow ATL native Polow Da Don, who also worked on “Glamorous,” came out to the stage to help her with ad-libs.

“Thank you so much for being here for me every single time. Everyone give it up for Luuuuuuuuuuudah!” Fergie said after the performance. The energy got even more electric when Usher came out for “Lovers and Friends” and “Yeah” delivered back-to-back.

But just as Cris had surprised the crowd the entire night, he got to witness a performance that even he wasn’t clued in to. His team surprised him by bringing out the man who inspired him to rap — LL Cool J — for “Loungin’” and “I’m Bad.”

True to Rich Nice’s word, Tyler, the Creator did have to wait a while for “Move Bitch.” The fan favorite closed out the set, incorporating drones that lit up the sky with dancing figures.

Afterward, Cris hosted a celebratory dinner at a restaurant called Retreat, where his manager and Chaka Zulu each captained a team in a friendly but rambunctious game of spades, while guests ate and took pictures.

“That was my favorite show ever,” Cris said. “It’s so dope to see hip-hop coming together from all walks, different generations, and [fans] just appreciating the art of what we’ve done —changing our lives. I’ve done a lot of shows over the last 25 years of my life, but I’m going to go ahead and put this one at the top, man.

“The way that it flowed, the love from the city, the friends that came out, all the multiple guest appearances that I’ve done, how we curated the show list, the drone show, the trap choir — man, the surprises! It’s blowing my mind. It’s going to take me a week to process, bro.”

Ludacris and LL Cool J

The rapper and actor was still basking in the glow of LL Cool J. “I don’t even know if I have words for that — I feel like a little kid, man,” he beamed.

“That was one of those moments that was just… I feel so blessed that this man got asked to come do this. He showed up for my Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. So, in my eyes, he’s already done more than what he was supposed to do… I’m just appreciative.”

Among the other performers at One Musicfest on Saturday and Sunday were Busta, with Mary J. Blige, Havoc from Mobb Deep and The Roots, Jazmine Sullivan, Jagged Edge and Lloyd, D-Nice, a reunion of the Dungeon Family, and Future.

bitchy | Prince Andrew believes his brother wants to give Royal Lodge to Queen Camilla

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

There was some buzz late in the day on Thursday that there would be some kind of big royal announcement. Alas, it did not happen. But I kind of wonder if we’ll hear something by the end of business today. One week ago, the Prince Andrew “problem” reached a boiling point, leading to Andrew’s evening announcement: he would willingly relinquish his ducal title and honors. Buckingham Palace hoped that would be the end of it and everyone would move on. Instead, the past seven days have been even more chaotic. I said earlier this week that I wouldn’t be surprised if Andrew is shoved out of Royal Lodge by the end of this week. That is the next move, but it looks like Andrew isn’t going down without a fight. This piece was published in the Telegraph on Thursday:

Prince Andrew believes the King is trying to force him out of his Royal Lodge home because he wants to give it to the Queen, The Telegraph understands.

The Prince is refusing to move out of his 30-room residence near Windsor Castle where he lives rent-free, despite coming under pressure from MPs to move to a more modest property. Andrew has what he regards as a cast-iron lease on Royal Lodge, which means his older brother cannot legally evict him. Having been forced to give up his Duke of York title – following fresh scandals over his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted paedophile, and his relationships with suspected Chinese spies – the Prince is facing a possible parliamentary inquiry into his living arrangements.

On Thursday, Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, chairman of the Commons public accounts committee, confirmed he would be writing to the Treasury and the Crown Estate Commissioners “seeking further information on the lease arrangements for Royal Lodge”. The answers to the questions will determine whether the committee takes the matter further.

Family friends have told The Telegraph that [Andrew] believes the King has an ulterior motive in wanting him to leave Royal Lodge. He and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, his daughters, have told friends that the King wants Royal Lodge to be the Queen’s base in Windsor should she outlive him. It would mirror the living arrangements of Queen Elizabeth II’s mother Queen Elizabeth, who lived in Royal Lodge when she became a widow and moved out of Windsor Castle.

The King’s aides flatly deny the suggestion, but the Prince has nevertheless become fixed on the idea, which surfaced a year ago, that Royal Lodge was being earmarked for the Queen.

In truth, Her Majesty, who became a member of the Royal family by marriage in 2005, is far less grand than Prince Andrew and is unlikely to want to live alone in such a large residence even for only part of the year. She still owns Ray Mill House, the Grade II-listed family house in Wiltshire she bought with the divorce settlement from Andrew Parker Bowles, her first husband, and it is said to be the place where she feels most at home.

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales, who has no time for his uncle but remains on good terms with his cousins Beatrice and Eugenie, has made it known that he wants the issue of Royal Lodge settled before he becomes King.

[From The Telegraph]

That last part about Prince William “want[ing] the issue of Royal Lodge settled before he becomes King” – completely bizarre, right? William’s allies and courtiers describe his future reign as “ruthless” and “fearless about making changes.” If that’s the case, then surely William would want to wait until he’s king to take care of this Andrew Problem himself? Ruthless William should be using that as a threat to Andrew: make a deal with Charles, because you won’t like the deals on offer during my reign. William wanting Charles to deal with his brother leaves William looking like a coward who refuses to confront his rancid uncle.

As for Andrew’s conspiracy that Charles intends to put Camilla in Royal Lodge… multiple things can be true all at once. One, Andrew needs to be evicted, plain and simple. Two, Royal Lodge is much desired by multiple royals, including William and Kate. Three, while Camilla loves her private oasis (Ray Mill), she will absolutely want a home on a royal estate if she survives her husband, and Royal Lodge would suit her perfectly. Four, if Charles doesn’t settle the Royal Lodge situation during his reign, it’s guaranteed that Ruthless Scooter King would be unlikely to give the Dowager Queen Consort such a palatial mansion as her retirement home, which means Charles does need to take care of this right now if he really does want RL to go to Camilla. Five, Camilla “is far less grand than Prince Andrew and is unlikely to want to live alone in such a large residence even for only part of the year” is a complete lie.

Update: Sources are now saying, as of Friday afternoon/evening, that Andrew is negotiating his withdrawal from Royal Lodge. He’s apparently hellbent on staying in Windsor or London, while King Charles wants to see Andrew shipped off to a cottage/home in Balmoral or Sandringham.

bitchy | Will Parliament give the monarch the power to strip all royal titles?

by jummy84 October 24, 2025
written by jummy84

As an American, I am often confused by the British monarchy and government’s “separation of powers.” Before this week, it seemed like prime ministers and Parliament basically left all of the title debates and housing issues up to the monarch’s prerogative. But Prince Andrew’s situation has changed everything, as MPs are loudly fuming about the monarchy’s mismanagement of this crisis. There is a growing political consensus that Andrew cannot be allowed to live out his days in a grand and rent-free 30-room mansion on the Windsor estate. It’s very likely that Parliament will have a formal inquiry into Royal Lodge and perhaps even the wider mismanagement of the Crown Estates. But there’s also proposed legislation to give the monarch power to remove titles on his own, only needing a “recommendation” from Parliament. The NY Times tried to explain:

Britain has been one of the world’s most durable constitutional monarchies, in part because its two pillars — the crown and Parliament — stay out of each other’s business. King Charles III steers clear of politics, while Prime Minister Keir Starmer leaves the affairs of the royal family to the monarch. That longstanding arrangement has come under rare stress in the last week, following scandalous new disclosures about Prince Andrew, the king’s younger brother, and his ties to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The details were outlined in a newly published email between Andrew and Mr. Epstein, and in a memoir by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, an Epstein victim who accused Andrew of raping her when she was a teenager — an accusation he denies. They have led to calls for him to be stripped of his most familiar title, prince. This would likely require an act of parliament.

That, in turn, has set off a chicken-and-egg debate. The government says the decision of whether to deprive Andrew of his titles is one for the king, not for Mr. Starmer. Officials at Buckingham Palace say it would be improper for the king to take any position on a parliamentary act that might come before him for royal assent. Both sides are drawing on centuries of convention, a powerful argument in a country with an unwritten constitution. Yet as the outcry grows over Andrew’s alleged misconduct during his friendship with Mr. Epstein, falling back on century-old laws and even more ancient customs is proving contentious.

“The argument that this is purely a matter for the royal family will not wash,” said Vernon Bogdanor, an expert on the constitutional monarchy at King’s College London. “Our monarchy since 1689 has been a parliamentary one. It exists only so long as Parliament, representing the people, want it to continue.”

On Wednesday, a Labour member of Parliament, Rachael Maskell, introduced a bill that would give the king the authority to rescind royal titles on his own initiative, following a recommendation from a parliamentary committee. Without the government’s support, however, it has little chance to pass.

Last Friday, Andrew announced that he would stop using one of his titles, the Duke of York, a step he took under pressure from his brother Charles. But he did not formally lose either the dukedom or the title of prince, to which he is entitled under a 1917 royal prerogative, known as a Letters Patent. Under that decree, issued by King George V, the title of prince or princess is limited to the child of a monarch, the child of the sons of a monarch, and the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales, the heir to the throne. Amending the Letters Patent to strip Andrew of his title is possible, experts have said, but it would be such a grave, unusual step that it would probably happen only if the king and the government agreed in advance.

[From The NY Times]

This is interesting from a how-the-sausage-is-made perspective, but it also has larger repercussions. Let’s be real – everyone can agree that Andrew should be stripped of all of his titles and that he should be forced onto an ice floe and set out to sea. THAT is not the debate. The real debate is: who will do the title-stripping and what happens if and when we give the monarch power to strip titles at will, with nominal input from the government? The actual debate is “what happens when we have a king who is petty, jealous and violently unfit to lead, and who uses his power to childishly settle scores?” Gee, I wonder why everyone is hesitating to give the crown these powers???

iLe’s Boleros Give Women a Powerful Voice » PopMatters

There’s love that’s just lovely, and then there’s the love that digs under your skin and sets your guts on fire. Likewise, the Latin boleros can be gauzily romantic, but on Como Las Canto Yo, the singer iLe is more interested in those whose hearts and intellects are aflame.

Boleros began in Cuba over a hundred years ago and have always been a Latin music staple. Sometimes, they are the slow dance break from the more frenetic mambo or salsa tunes; other times, they are the main event, drawing lovers into their measured, deliberate sway. Sometimes, they celebrate the initial limerence phase of love; other times, they embody Tennyson’s bittersweet dictum that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved.

On her latest album, the Puerto Rican singer iLe cherry-picks some classic and deep-cut boleros, mostly choosing ones that tell the story of ill-fated love. Her vocal outpouring makes the songs seem like cousins to flamenco or Portuguese fado, whose goal is to express deep and powerful emotions.

Boleros from the golden age of mambo often feature lush orchestral embellishment, but iLe leaned toward the stripped-down street sound side of the genre. In most songs, her powerful voice plays off just a guitar or a couple of instruments, making it seem more raw and urgent.

In some songs, such as the initial single “Un Amor de la Calle”, which was popularized in 1975 by the late star Hector Lavoe, iLe tells the story of a betrayal by an untrustworthy lover. It’s a heartfelt, straightforward tale told in slow, sultry tones. With soft percussion and a sparely played electric guitar, iLe conjures an arrangement as richly textured as an orchestra. The protagonist is resolute and angry, but it’s a bittersweet moment, capped with a bitter laugh—the siren saying farewell and good riddance. “I thought you were sincere / And I gave you my life / Without any conditions / But it was all a dream.”

Elsewhere, this same ambivalent goodbye to a lover is expressed in more poetic terms, such as “Moon’s Lament”. iLe fills the air with her voice, only accompanied by an acoustic guitar, evoking a quiet night that reverberates with sadness and solitude. The song’s lovely vocals celebrate a love even when it’s slipped away. “A drunken song of bitterness / That the sea murmurs/How to erase this long sadness / That your goodbye leaves behind / How can I forget you if deep inside / You are there.”

Deviating from the classics, iLe sings “No Te Detangas (Don’t Stop)” written by her grandmother, Flor Amelia de Gracia. In contrast to what one might imagine of a song written by a grandmother, this one expresses unequivocal sexual desire. She sings it with clarity and tenderness, accompanied by a sweet acoustic guitar and a dawdling, hand-slapped conga. “Don’t stop / In such a delicious moment / Don’t stop / In such a glorious moment / Like a tattoo I want to carry you / All over my body.”

One of iLe’s vocal touchstones is La Lupe, the Cuba-born singer known for her electric performances, who exploded in New York City in the 1960s, performing with Tito Puente. She tackles two of her songs here. In “El Verdugo (The Executioner)”, she is accompanied by a small combo, but successfully distills the song’s essence, a master class of technique. Where La Lupe was over the top, iLe unreels her stunning voice with perfect control. She works up to a sustained, blow-you-away vocal crescendo. “You are the executioner / Of the love that knew how to lead you / To a path of happiness / That you have never crossed again.”

She follows up by switching gears with “Pepito,” the 1961 hit by the trio Los Machucambos. The quaint tune has a playfulness not heard elsewhere, a sweet tribute to the trio’s long career.

iLe was featured on Adrian Quesada’s experimental Boleros Psicodelicos albums, and her “Si te Contara” has a similar anything-goes, retro-futuristic vibe. The big band sound with horns and vibraphone is processed to sound muffled, giving it the flavor of vintage vinyl, though her voice is front and center, singing confidently to a former lover. “If you knew, would you care / If you were told that there is no light or joy left in me / That your memory is the greatest harm I do to myself / For living dreaming that you will return repentant.”

The next tune takes a very different experimental turn. For “Un Poco Mas (A Little More)”, iLe completely remakes an old tune as an a capella exercise, but only accompanied by a chattering cloud of hand-played percussion. In another surprise turn, she covers La Lupe’s “Puro Teatro”, again showcasing her voice, only accompanied by a church-y electric organ.

In the penultimate song, iLe pays a beautiful tribute to the groundbreaking Puerto Rican female songwriter Sylvia Rexach with the gently heartbreaking “Yo Era un Flor (I Was a Flower)”. The narrator is a flower speaking to a passing butterfly, telling her story, a parable for young women who give themselves to someone who quickly moves on.

The narrator’s sad humility is heartbreaking, but the beauty of its expression—poetically and vocally—embodies what Brazilians call saudade, a bittersweet mix of feelings—a sadness that is still somehow uplifting in its beauty, a reminder of the privilege of feeling and being alive. “I was a flower / That grew in the weeds / And was offered a fleeting love / A nightingale took my chalice / Destroying my soul / And leaving me plunged in pain / I was a flower / That lost its color.”

iLe ends Como Las Canto Yo by putting romantic love aside and taking up a political message. A performer not shy about speaking out politically, she sings the Puerto Rican anthem, “La Borinqueña”. Accompanied by a single martial-sounding drum, she resurrects the song’s original lyrics written in 1868, when the island undertook its first armed rebellion against Spain. Puerto Rican poet Lola Rodriguez de Tío wrote the initial words.

The call to arms within the lyrics was tamed down when the island became a United States territory. Still, iLe goes back to the earlier, angrier lyrics, no doubt feeling the rise of sentiments against Latinos in the United States. “Wake up, Borinqueño / The signal has been given / Wake up from that dream / It’s time to fight.”

iLe’s journey to bolero warrior began in her pre-teens when her older brothers asked her to sing along with their fledgling rap group. What started in their living room in San Juan became Calle 13, one of the best-selling Latin music groups known for taking up social justice causes. Born Iléana Mercedes Cabra Joglar, her little sister was dubbed “PG-13” by a cousin who observed her singing with them in clubs where she was too young to be in the audience.

At age 25, she released her 2016 solo debut, the Grammy-winning iIlevitable, under her new stage name, iLe. The album surprised many fans since it featured a retro big band sound, including some boleros. On her latest, iLe revisits the past, but refashions it in unexpected ways and, along the way, empowers women in a genre that often gives men dominance.

Across her three solo albums, iLe has proven to be an artist constantly looking to explore new sounds. With Como las Canto Yo, which means “how I sing them”, she shows that even with the confines of a single genre, she can create a variety of soundscapes for her stunning vocal instrument and put her own mark on Latin music.

Ibrahim Ali Khan accepts Nadaaniyan was ‘really bad’, tells haters: ‘If I now give a blockbuster in the future…’

Ibrahim Ali Khan, who made his Bollywood debut with Nadaaniyan, has called it a “really bad film.” Speaking with Esquire India, Ibrahim said that he and his film were trolled “nonstop.” He added that if he gives a “blockbuster in the future, I want the same kind of response” and that people “should go mad after” him.

Ibrahim Ali Khan talks about his film Nadaaniyan

The son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh recalled how people waited in anticipation for Nadaaniyan’s release. He said, “Not too long ago, they were all waiting for my launch, and after Nadaaniyan, the hype has dropped real bad. They’ve trolled me nonstop. ‘He won’t be able to do it only.’ It’s a massive low… and I constantly feel bad about it. I’m just gonna go on record and say that it was a really bad film.”

Ibrahim talks about featuring in a blockbuster

Ibrahim Ali Khan added, “It was really bad. It became a sort of culture to, ‘Oh, let’s troll that film’. There were people who were trolling it just because they heard that some other person was trolling it. That’s uncalled for, but if I now give a blockbuster in the future, I want the same kind of response. They should go mad after me.”

All about Nadaaniyan, its review

Nadaaniyan, a teen romantic comedy film, was directed by Shauna Gautam and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra under Dharmatic Entertainment. The film also stars Khushi Kapoor, Mahima Chaudhry, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj.

The Hindustan Times review of the film read, “Ibrahim is faithful- not to the art but to that one constant confused/disgusted expression he has on his face. It’s his first film, okay. Then he should have prepared more. Who gives an exam without preparing? It’s a disappointing debut. Khushi Kapoor fares slightly well, as she has a tougher story arc, overcoming a broken family. She handles emotional scenes well, but her dialogue delivery needs more nuance.”

Ibrahim’s films

Ibrahim was last seen in Kayoze Irani’s Sarzameen alongside Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Fans will see him next in Diler, directed by Kunal Deshmukh. The film will reportedly feature Sreeleela in the female lead.

SZA Speaks on Environmental Disaster, Al, & Human Suffering: “My Government Doesn’t Give a F* If I Live or Die”

SZA is voicing her frustration with the state of the world — from politics and the environment to social issues — in a passionate message that quickly went viral.

In a lengthy post shared online, the Grammy-winning artist expressed deep concern over a wide range of global crises, from oil drilling in Alaska’s wildlife preserve and child marriage laws to mass layoffs affecting Black women and environmental collapse.

She highlighted topics including toxic waste dumping, the coral reef’s decline, and humanitarian crises in Sudan and the Congo, writing that people seem more focused on distractions than real issues.

“People starving and dying in Sudan + Congo but nobody cares cause they’re Black + everyone wants the new iPhone,” SZA wrote.

The “Kill Bill” singer also warned against AI misuse, mass pollution, and online propaganda, saying the constant cycle of negativity is mentally exhausting:

“I feel crazy tryna sell anything, drop anything, think anything, be anything but stressed the f*** out… but we persist I guess chile. Y’all okay? Imma get off the net lol.”

SZA’s candid message sparked wide discussion across social media, with many fans praising her for articulating the anxiety and disillusionment many people feel amid today’s chaos.
