First Trailer for Exciting New ‘Star Wars: Galactic Racer’ Video Game

“The Galaxy needs racing!” Check out this first look trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer launching to play in 2026. Sometimes we break our own rules and post trailers for video games – this new one also comes from The Game Awards. When I was growing up, I was a huge fan of the N64 game Star Wars Episode I: Racer, featuring pod racing from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (both released the same year in 1999). So I will admit that I am kinda excited to see that 27 years later they’re bringing back racing to the Star Wars universe with this brand new game arriving next year. Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy. The campaign is set in the New Republic Era and takes place on the desert planet Jakku as seen in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is formed: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. This looks like it’s going to be plenty of fun to play – maybe there will even be a podrace in it somewhere as hinted at with the final shot.

Here’s the first official trailer for Fuse Games’s game Star Wars: Galactic Racer, from YouTube:

Star Wars: Galactic Racer Poster

“No Force. No prophecy. Just skill, strategy, and the will to rise.” Lucasfilm Games’ Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the Outer Rim. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is created: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. At the heart of it all is Shade, a lone racer with a dream of glory and revenge. For Shade, the League isn’t just a race; it’s a shot at reclaiming destiny. But standing in Shade’s way is Kestar, a ruthless rival who has his own power-hungry plans for the League. As the Galactic League rises, so does the rivalry that could define it. Shade must forge alliances, outpace rivals, and survive long enough to become an elite racing pilot. Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a racing video game created & developed by Fuse Games; published by Secret Mode and Lucasfilm Games. The game will be available for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S when it launches sometimes in 2026. Stay tuned for updates. For more info on the game + more news, visit the official site. Who’s excited to play?

Hollywood’s New Obsession: The Rise of the “Quiet Icons” Changing the Fame Game

by jummy84 December 8, 2025
written by jummy84

There’s a new wave sweeping through Hollywood, and it’s not about blockbuster franchises, scandal-driven headlines, or overnight viral fame. This season, the industry’s coolest energy is coming from what fans are calling the “Quiet Icons”  celebrities who don’t need chaos, controversy, or clickbait to dominate the conversation.

From red carpets to social media feeds, these stars are redefining what it means to shine in Hollywood. Instead of loud drama, they bring authenticity, intention, and a vibe that feels refreshingly human in an industry built on noise.

Leading the trend are multi-hyphenates like Lily Collins, who continues to blend classic elegance with modern cool; Barry Keoghan, whose mysterious charm has turned him into the internet’s favorite unpredictable actor; and rising artists like Maya Hawke, who has quietly become the muse of a generation craving softness and originality.

What makes these stars magnetic is simple:
realness is their brand.
They show up to premieres with effortless fashion, post unfiltered behind-the-scenes content, and speak with honesty about their process instead of perfection. No over-curated personas, no performative drama, just vibes, talent, and a sense of grounded confidence.

Even in fashion, the Quiet Icon movement is booming. Stylist-favorite brands like The Row, Khaite, and Tove are leaning into minimal silhouettes and luxe textures that whisper instead of shout. The red carpet has officially entered its “silent luxury with personality” era, and fans can’t get enough.

What’s fascinating is that this shift isn’t accidental, it’s cultural. Audiences are exhausted by spectacle. They want stars who feel real, who make fame look sustainable instead of chaotic, and who bring emotional intelligence to an industry that sometimes forgets what emotion even means.

This new Hollywood energy proves one thing:
You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room to be the most iconic.
Sometimes, the ones who speak softly make the biggest impact.

Peter Claffey, Dexter Sol Ansell in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Game of Thrones Prequel’s Cast at CCXP

by jummy84 December 4, 2025
written by jummy84

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms brought the firepower to CCXP in São Paulo.

The panel for HBO‘s forthcoming Game of Thrones prequel series kicked off Thursday in Brazil with a live brass band performing the original show’s iconic theme music as cosplayers acted out aspects of the program. The actual event featured Peter Claffey, who stars as the titular Ser Duncan the Tall, aka Dunk, and Dexter Sol Ansell, who portrays Dunk’s squire, Prince Aegon Targaryen, known as Egg. Its six-episode first season is set to premiere Jan. 18 on HBO, and the project has already been renewed for a second season.

When the moderator asked Claffey how Dunk remains such a cool guy on the show, the actor replied, “I don’t know if he’s ‘cool,’ but he’s quite an anxious, nervous but very lovable guy. He just wants to do what’s right.” Claffey added, “It’s a hard thing to do in Westeros, is try to be that chivalrous knight.”

Claffey said that his character learns quite a bit from the youthful Egg. “Dunk has a very black-and-white idea of how to do things,” he said. Claffey explained that Egg’s “intelligence and knowledge” about navigating interpersonal connections proves helpful for Dunk: “It’s quite a symbiotic relationship.”

When it was noted that Dunk is a direct ancestor of Brienne of Tarth, Gwendoline Christie‘s character in Game of Thrones, Claffey said that he was a big fan of the original series and sees a link between his own work and what Christie did with her role. “I loved Gwendoline Christie as Brienne,” Claffey said. “There’s a lot of aspects to Dunk’s character that she shares.”

Claffey explained that the cast loved meeting with author George R.R. Martin, who took the performers out to dinner in New York to celebrate the latest adaptation of his work. “He told Ira Parker, our showrunner and writer: ‘Please don’t mess it up,’” Claffey recalled.

The panel included a video message from Fabien Frankel, who plays Ser Criston Cole on HBO’s House of the Dragon, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, known for his role as Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones. “I just want to say hi, and I want to welcome the new guy and wish him all the best of luck,” Coster-Waldau said in the video. “Just friendly advice: Try to keep all of your limbs intact.”

Claffey, who hadn’t expected the video, appeared thrilled by it. “That is so cool!” the actor said before marveling about Coster-Waldau: “He knows my name.”

Ansell told the crowd that he initially felt it would be a big decision to keep his head shaved as Egg, and indeed, Ansell’s head appeared to have been recently shaved prior to the panel. “That was a lot to handle,” the young actor said about knowing he would need to lose his hair. But it didn’t take him long to embrace the change: “[Ultimately,] I was like, ‘Yeah! Let’s do it.” He added, “Showers are a lot quicker.”

The young star has appreciated his time bonding with Claffey away from the set. “Every weekend, me and Peter, we’d be having Five Guys and having burgers and going to the arcade,” Ansell said. This led Claffey to quip, “I like to unwind on the weekend by kicking Dexter’s ass in Mario Kart.”

Before ending the panel, Claffey revealed that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms would soon be starting to shoot its second season. “On Tuesday, we start filming season two!” he exclaimed to the enthusiastic audience. He didn’t tease much about what he might be filming but noted that he and Ansell would be needing spray tans soon.

Acknowledging that he had in fact seen the first script, Claffey said, “We just need to learn all our lines.”

Martin and Parker co-created the Game of Thrones prequel series. It adapts Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas and is set 90 years ahead of the events of Game of Thrones’ first season.

Finn Bennett, who co-stars as Egg’s older brother, Prince Aerion “Brightflame” Targaryen, previously told The Hollywood Reporter that he was convinced his initial audition for the series had gone poorly.

“I thought I had flubbed it,” the Warfare actor said earlier this year. “I thought I had done such a terrible job in the audition, and I called [my agent] as soon as I came out and said, ‘It didn’t go well. It didn’t go my way.’ She phoned the office of the lovely casting director, Lucy Bevan, and they said, ‘No, it went great. It went great.’”

Erika Ishii wants to make a Dropout video game: “The sky’s the limit”

by jummy84 November 24, 2025
written by jummy84

Unable to choose between their two loves of video games and Dropout TV, Erika Ishii would love to direct their very own Dropout video game.

Ishii, who was nominated for their performance as Atsu in Ghost of Yōtei at last week’s Golden Joystick Awards, has been prolific in games acting since 2017.

Many will likely know them best, however, from web series such as Critical Role, LA by Night, and of course, the likes of Dimension 20, Game Changer and Dirty Laundry – courtesy of Dropout.

At the Golden Joysticks red carpet, we asked Ishii to choose between games acting and their beloved web series – something they were very much not willing to do.

Ishii was nominated for Best Lead Performance at the Golden Joysticks 2025.

“See, the nice part about being fluid in all areas is I don’t have to choose anything,” they exclaimed. “I’m greedy, I get what I want! I can get all the things, all the genders, all the partners, all of the games!

“I don’t have to choose – it’s the best! But I guess that’s kind of like a fence-riding answer for you. Ideally, I would get to make games with Dropout folks.

“I think that the sky’s the limit for the things that they’re doing. They hinted that they’re getting back into scripted and into animation, so why not games?”

Founded in 2018, Dropout is the successor to internet comedy company CollegeHumor, most widely known for its sketches.

Since being acquired by then-CollegeHumor CCO Sam Reich, the company has shifted towards creating original shows including live TTRPG campaigns, improv shows and game shows like Game Changer, and stars a rotating cast of comedians and performers including Ishii.

While the contents of Ishii’s Dropout game are yet to be determined, that did not stop them from issuing their demands of Reich live on the red carpet: “Sam Reich, let me direct a Dropout video game!”

Your move, Sam.

Is Squid Game: the Challenge really that hard?

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Add Squid Game: the Challenge to your watchlist

In 2021, South Korean drama Squid Game became a cultural phenomenon — so much so that viewers were desperate to join in. So two years later, a reality show version was created called Squid Game: the Challenge, bringing the deadly games to life with real members of the public competing.

Now, its second series is in full swing, with almost 110,000 people from around the world applying to be one of 456 people chosen to compete for a prize of $4.56 million (about £3.5 million). People are clearly dying to play it — without the actual dying part. All you can hurt in this version
is your pride, as RT can confirm after our own visit to the set.

Squid Game: The Challenge. Netflix

In every other way, however, it feels authentic. Upon entering the vast dorm, my mouth falls open — it’s huge, and looks identical to the series. Soon I’m kitted out in the iconic tracksuit, with intimidating masked guards watching my every move as player 255.

The reality series has had the blessing and help of Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk, but while his drama ended with series three, The Challenge has no plans to call game over. “We’d like to go on for as long as possible,” says executive producer Stephen Yemoh. “As long as we can keep finding new, interesting games and 456 people who are willing to put a tracksuit on and come and play.”

With that, I zip up my green jacket and face a host of games, some from the TV show, some newly created. Ready or not…

MINGLE

A group of people in green tracksuits, looking worriedly ahead.

Squid Game: The Challenge. Netflix

In Squid Game series two, players stand on a spinning carousel for Mingle. When it stops, a number is called out and they must form groups of that number and enter the surrounding rooms, then close the door. Onscreen it’s chaotic and dangerous, so when replicating it, the health and safety briefing, as with all the games, was paramount. Stephen Yemoh says, “We had soft closing doors to make sure no one was trapped in any way.” Anna Kidd adds, “The games go through rigorous testing, internally and with supporting artists.”

SLIDES AND LADDERS

In one of the new games created for the show, players are put in pairs and roll a dice to progress on the board. If they land on a ladder, they go up, and if they land on the dual slide, one transports them further down the board, while the other eliminates them. There are also cards to choose that reveal either an advantage or a disadvantage, with only six teams able to progress. “It couldn’t be flat,” says Kidd, “but if it was vertical, it’d become too big. Our amazing games designer Ben Norman came up with the idea of making it on stepped platforms.”

DEATH BY SQUIB

A birds eye view of Squid Game: The Challenge season 2.

Squid Game: The Challenge. Netflix

Even though the players are eliminated rather than killed, Yemoh explains, “The deaths are so iconic in the actual drama that we needed to visually replicate that, but also make it feel fun and playful.” A special effects company created a pressurised canister for the “squib”, resulting in a burst of black ink (instead of red blood) when a player “dies”, like I did here. “We tried 17 different versions of the nozzle, including a star shape and a triangle, and 12 different versions of the type of T-shirt we needed for it to go through the outfit.” The players have never been explicitly told to act dead, but they always “take their moment” for a theatrical exit. I certainly couldn’t resist.

SQUID GAME STAIRCASE

Squid Game: The Challenge. Netflix

In the second series of Squid Game, the players staged a revolt against the guards, leading to an intense shootout on the pastel staircases. In this series of The Challenge during the Mingle episode, inspired by the drama, the players actually refuse to continue the game at one point, but the team behind the reality show was able to watch series two before release on Netflix, so they were prepared for this eventuality. “We often thought about the revolt, so we had plenty of contingencies in place,” says Stephen Yemoh.

Salman Khan Schools Tanya Mittal Over Her Nomination Game Plan in Explosive Weekend Ka Vaar Promo

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

The eleventh week of Bigg Boss 19 has turned out to be one of the most dramatic and chaotic ones yet. With heated confrontations, emotional breakdowns, and shifting alliances, viewers were treated to a roller-coaster of events, largely thanks to Farhana Bhatt and Tanya Mittal, who stirred up major chaos inside the house. As fans know, tensions between Tanya Mittal and Amaal Malik have reached a breaking point.

Tanya Mittal

Tanya Mittal Schooled In Bigg Boss

The once-close duo’s friendship has completely fallen apart, with Amaal now maintaining his distance from Tanya. Their strained relationship has become one of the biggest talking points of the season, and things took a turn for the worse in the latest promo of Weekend Ka Vaar, where host Salman Khan is seen exposing Tanya’s game plan. In the newly released promo video for this weekend’s episode, Salman Khan can be seen confronting Tanya Mittal over her actions during the nomination task.

According to the promo shared by the makers, Tanya and Shehbaz nominated Ashnoor Kaur. However, what caught everyone’s attention was Tanya’s apparent attempt to manipulate nominations involving Amaal Malik, which backfired spectacularly. During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman Khan is seen taking Tanya to task for her so-called nomination strategy. He says, “Tanya, your nomination plan has been ruined. Bigg Boss didn’t even give you the option of Amaal. You built up so much drama, saying you’d call Amaal ‘bhaiya’ in front of everyone. You were trying to provoke him, but no one cared. Now you can’t go from ‘bhaiya’ to ‘saiyan’. If that was your game, then what kind of game is this?”

Tanya Mittal

Salman’s sharp words left Tanya visibly embarrassed, and housemates appeared stunned at the host’s frank criticism. The promo shows Tanya attempting to justify herself, but Salman interrupts her, making it clear that her strategy was seen through by both the audience and Bigg Boss. Earlier this week, Amaal Malik had already made headlines after calling Tanya fake, which deeply upset her. Their relationship, which started as a close friendship, has now turned bitter.

That run marks the longest stretch without a jackpot winner since the game launched in 2002, surpassing the previous record of 37 drawings set on Jan. 22, 2021, when a $1.050 billion prize was won in Michigan.

“While the jackpot remains elusive, the number of winners – and total prizes won – continues to grow,” lottery officials said. They noted that during the current run, there have been nearly 11.7 million winning tickets across all prize levels, with total payouts exceeding $274 million. Officials attributed the higher overall prize amounts to “significant enhancements in the lower-tier prizes” made after the game changed in April. So far, 256 third-tier tickets — worth between $20,000 and $100,000 — have also been sold in this streak. Even though no one matched all six numbers in the most recent drawing on Nov. 4, officials emphasized that players are still winning substantial amounts. “In the Nov. 4 drawing alone, there were 606,046 winning tickets across all prize tiers, for total nationwide winnings of more than $12.2 million,” Mega Millions said.

Ice Spice Talks a Big Game on New Single ‘Pretty Privilege’

Ice Spice has dropped a new single, “Pretty Privilege.” The rapper shared the track alongside a music video, which sees her strutting and dancing around a mansion.

The track sees Ice Spice taking aim at her fellow artists. “Poser, she hear my song and copy everything I say,” she spits. “Like, what the fuck? These bitches dirt/ Just be yourself, this shit could work/ Pretty privilege, that’s a perk/ I can’t help it, I’m a flirt/ Fine shit, that’s a fact.” She adds, “Cancel me, they really tried it/ I’m so cocky, I can’t hide it.”

“Pretty Privilege” follows Ice Spice’s comeback single, “Baddie Baddie,” which arrived in September. The song marked Ice Spice’s first solo release since she dropped Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe) last December. It was produced by the rapper’s longtime collaborator RiotUSA and samples M.I.A.’s 2012 hit “Bad Girls.” She later dropped an Evil Twins-directed music video for the track.

Since releasing Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe), Ice Spice collaborated with several artists. Earlier this year, she teamed up with Latto on “Gyatt,” which marked the first collaboration between the two rappers and effectively squashed rumors of the pair’s feud. She also made her film debut in Spike Lee’s most recent film, Highest 2 Lowest, starring Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky.

Ice Spice recently told Rolling Stone her creative process has stayed the same throughout her career. “Everything kind of changes a little bit slowly throughout the years, but, it’s pretty consistent,” she said. “Or, like, I have things that I do that I’m comfortable with. I take a lot of breaks in between recording songs. So I don’t just, sit and go through it. I get up, do things, eat, or whatever, and then come back to it the next day.”
