“There’s something wrong with this place. There’s something bad here. I can hear it in the walls.” Quiver Distribution has revealed their official trailer for an indie horror film titled The Beldham, another horror about motherhood and life after having a baby. This premiered last year at the 2024 Sitges and Austin Film Festivals and a few others, and will be out on VOD soon. A struggling young mother fights a generations-old presence lurking within her family home, threatening her safety, her sanity, and the life of her infant child. Starring Patricia Heaton, Corbin Bernsen, Katie Parker, Emma Fitzpatrick. A new mother named Harper returns to her childhood home, only to face a malevolent, age-old entity lurking in the walls. As the haunting escalates, she’s pushed to the brink to protect her baby — and her mind. All these nice birds are being turned into villains in this film! They don’t seem so scary — it’s the creepy witch in the walls that does.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Angela Gulner’s horror film The Beldham, direct from YouTube:

When she first got pregnant, Harper (Katie Parker) already knew that having a child wasn’t going to be an easy task. What she never expected was to have to deal with a generations-old evil presence that has been living on the family’s farm. Katie Parker, a recurring actress in Mike Flanagan’s works, and Cobin Bernsen, known for The Dentist, among other roles, star in this harrowing tale of ghosts and first-time mothers. The Beldham is written and directed by American writer / actress / filmmaker Angela Gulner, making her feature directorial debut with this film. It’s produced by Talia Bella, Angela Gulner, Mark Meir, Randy Wayne. This first premiered at the 2024 Sitges & Austin Film Festivals last year. Quiver Distr. debuts Gulner’s The Beldham horror film direct-to-VOD starting November 7th, 2025 this fall. Who’s intrigued?

“I can’t be part of this system anymore…” Utopia has revealed their official trailer for the indie horror film titled In Our Blood, the first narrative feature from editor / doc filmmaker Pedro Kos. This first premiered last year at the 2024 Fantasia Film Festival, with stops at Screamfast, Mórbido, and other fests. Now set to open in US theaters in October. In Our Blood masterfully blends psychological mystery with chilling horror. The film weaves a twisted tale of reconciling with the ghosts of our past and confronting the complicity we share in creating a world that preys on the most vulnerable. That sounds scary! Nothing is as it seems when filmmaker Emily Wyland teams up with cinematographer Danny to shoot an intimate documentary about reuniting with Emily’s estranged mother after a decade apart. When her mom suddenly is missing, possibly because of the addictions that first tore her family apart, Emily and Danny must piece together increasingly sinister clues to find her before it’s too late. Starring Brittany O’Grady, E.J. Bonilla, Alanna Ubach, Krisha Fairchild, Leo Marks, Bianca Comparato, and Steven Klein. Check out some footage below.

In Our Blood is directed by editor / writer / filmmaker Pedro Kos, director of the doc films Bending the Arc and Rebel Hearts previously, plus other shorts, now making his narrative debut with this feature. The screenplay is written by Mallory Westfall. Produced by Aaron Kogan, Stuart Fenegan, Gary Lucchesi, Michael McKay, Steven Klein. This premiered at the 2024 Fantasia Film Festival last year. Utopia releases Pedro Kos’ In Our Blood in select US theaters starting October 24th, 2025 this fall. Look scary?

“Whatchu think – you can just do whatever you want now?!” Blue Finch Films has unveiled the first look teaser trailer for a scary, unsettling new horror film playing at genre festivals this year. From director Rod Blackhurst (of Blood for Dust), Dolly is a freaky horror film about a “monstrous figure” that is screening at both Fantastic Fest & the Sitges Film Festival this fall. A young woman, Macy, fights for survival after being abducted by a deranged, monster-like figure who wants to raise Macy as their child. A daring blend of New French Extremity and 1970s American horror. This “chilling folk-horor tale” features Fabianne Therese, Seann William Scott, Ethan Suplee, Kate Cobb, and the “transmasc wrestler” Max the Impaler. FF adds this juicy tidbit: “Nothing is ever quite as it seems, except of course for the absolutely goopy practical effects in this lo-fi throwback to the isolated murder families of The Hills Have Eyes and the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Director Rod Blackhurst combines his clear inspiration with a uniquely demented point of view, building on his previous work.” Sounds gnarly! And the footage is just as frightening & weird.

Here’s the first teaser trailer for Rod Blackhurst’s horror film Dolly, direct from YouTube:

Dolly Horror Teaser

From Fantastic Fest: “Chase and Macy drop off Chase’s daughter, Evy, and then hike to a nearby overlook where he plans to propose. Those plans are soon forgotten when they discover a weird ‘art installation’ of many dirty, broken dolls. Unfortunately the dolls are actually more of an altar to the victims of Dolly—a violent, hulking, child-like person in a tattered dress and a porcelain doll mask—who arrives to bury the decapitated corpse of their latest plaything. While they have little interest in Chase outside of violence, Macy catches their eye and is taken home to become their newest doll. With the help of a voice in the walls, Macy quickly realizes she must navigate her captor’s delusions and family trauma to have any hope of surviving the nightmare and the filthy house she finds herself in. Of course that means playing her role of a doll—including diaper changes and feedings—until she can find the right moment to make her move.” 🎀

Dolly is directed by American filmmaker Rod Blackhurst, director of the films Here Alone, Amanda Knox, Blood for Dust, and The Tennessee 11 previously, plus many short films & other projects. The screenplay is written by Brandon Weavil and Rod Blackhurst. Produced by Joseph C. Grano, Noah Lang, Bryce McGuire, Ross O’Connor, Esteban Sanchez, Isaiah Smallman, Betty Tong, and Rod Blackhurst. The film is premiering soon at Fantastic Fest 2025 in Austin, TX later this month and also at the Sitges Film Festival after that. No other release dates are set yet – stay tuned for more updates on this movie. Who wants to watch this horror?
